Pizzeria Il Cantuccio Albenga Reviews
Torneremo sicuramente
Excellent wood-fired pizza, not the usual tourist fare. The staff is friendly and helpful. I'd also add that the owners are truly helpful and kind: they immediately sent us my son's glasses, which he'd forgotten shortly before we left. If you're looking for flavor and warmth, I highly recommend it!
We decided to try this place while we were in the area, and we were right! The welcome was very friendly, and the wait for a table was short. We opted for the fried fish and vegetables called Al Cantuccio, which wasn't greasy at all and was just the right amount of salty. The desserts and coffee were delicious. What more can we say? We're happy with our choice, and we'll keep it in mind when we're in the area again.
We stumbled upon this not-so-attractive street by chance. What a stroke of luck! By far the best pizza we've had in a long time. The house wine was delicious and reasonably priced, and the staff was very friendly. During our visit, we noticed that even locals come here to get their pizza to go...if that's not recognition enough.
We ate at Al Cantuccio as a family yesterday and felt completely at home. The atmosphere was warm and child-friendly. This is especially important for us as a family. We had a variety of pizzas, all of which were delicious, crispy, and topped with fresh ingredients. We were especially pleased that our children even got spaghetti al pomodoro, even though it wasn't on the menu. This shows how flexible and accommodating the team is. The service was attentive and friendly. You can tell that the food here is prepared with passion. We would definitely be happy to come back.
We had the pizza, and we have to say we really enjoyed it! Excellent dough and a wide selection. For those who love thin pizzas, this place is highly recommended. We paired our pizzas with an excellent beer! We'll be back!
Very nice, good food and welcoming service.
Good service
We come here since 1986, never had a bad experience. Menu changed over the years but is always good. Third generation also helps out and with the same passion and friendliness as always. Recommend the pizza and other dishes. Hope to visit them many time in the coming years.
Top 😌
WE returned to Albenga after three years away. The fact that you can get two excellent pizzas and ½ litre of wine for €25 is a winner in anyones language.

Ottimo ristorante, adatto a famiglie. I bimbi hanno preso la pizza, buonissima. Piatti veramente buoni. Prezzo giusto. Consigluato
If I had made the pizza myself, it probably would have tasted the same. I also wouldn't have known why the tomato sauce was somehow boring, why it was only lukewarm, and the dough was hard. The toppings were good and interesting, thinly sliced and tasty. Easy. Without extra salt and pepper, it simply tasted of nothing. The ambiance is more like a work environment with about 10 LED daylight lamps, which are also glaring. That could be changed for little money; at least replacing some of them with warm white would make the light more harmonious and spectrum-neutral. You walk out of there thinking you've got something in your eyes.
Pizzeria near the train station in Albenga. On a last-minute Saturday, we managed to get a reservation for 9:00 PM. I personally ordered a white pizza. How was the pizza? Good and unique. The pizza is a traditional shallow crust. When you cut it, it seems a bit tough, but in fact, it's crispy, just right—not hard or too crispy to break. The taste is a surprise: the dough is very unique, flavorful, and savory. It tastes like French bread dough. I noticed a lot of customers ordered fish. I'll try it in the future.
Had lunch last Saturday...a bright and charming place. The first courses were excellent; I was craving trofie with pesto and was very satisfied. Then we had fried calamari presented in a very nice vintage colander and some delicious grilled vegetables. Completely satisfied...I even mopped up the first courses with bread 🤣🤣🤣👍
Good old-fashioned pizzeria.
I've been coming to this restaurant for 14 years. At first, both the food and the staff were impeccable. In recent years, I've noticed a slight decline in quality. I still recommend it, but I'd point out that it's best to book early. At peak times, the wood-fired oven is too hot, and the pizzas are dry and burnt. The fennel seed salami paired with the fried bread is delicious if you eat a few slices, but more than that is nauseating. Great with kids.
We ordered two takeaway pizzas (one burnt and one raw and full of oil) and a raw farinata, full of oil and looking more like scrambled eggs. It must be said that the staff is courteous and they respected the collection time.
Terrible pizza, non-existent leavening and terrible cooking, burnt, the staff didn't even come close to asking if something was wrong and when it came to the bill they pretended not to notice.
Ordered 4 pizzas, apart from the quality of the raw materials, the undrinkable draft beer, the cooking of the pizza non-existent because almost raw, 2 pizzas arrived (the same one) completely destroyed, with a hole in the center and after pointing it out twice, I had to opt for another pizza, no apology from the person at the cashier who pretended nothing had happened.
