Spanglish Kitchen Alhambra Reviews
Ordered pick up! They were completely slammed on Sunday 4pm. People waiting to pick up and order. I completely forgot to ask for salsa when I picked up the order and ask for utensils if you want them. Skirt steak vs carne asada burrito the skirt is beefier and chewier for the meat hungry. Also skirt comes with guac. The bean and cheese burrito includes rice and refried beans have more whole beans than other places creating a different texture and taste. Got fried fish and carnitas tacos along with chicken enchiladas. Presentation and packaging was very politely done. Although the restaurant is a farther drive for me the food is delicious with generous portions.
Great food, always recommend the carne asada. Rice and beans taste fresh. Haven't had a bad meal
This place does not miss!! It taste like real home made food like my momma is cooking! The chilaquiles, the tacos, the caldo, the pasole, everything bomb!
Street Fries are a great way to start off. The Carne asada enchiladas are my favorite. The Asada ,& carnitas burritos are good amd filling.. wash it down with a Mexican Coke. Good times.
Superb Mexican restaurant that is very affordable and incredible value. You order and pickup at a counter but they have some outdoor seating around the corner. The selection is huge and everything is very reasonably priced. The fish burrito was so satisfying, tasty and soft and warm. The balance was perfect with everything in the burrito. They get pretty busy and had to wait around 10 minutes for the burrito but it was worth it. Order ahead if you are in a rush.
Have only been here 2x and have ordered the chicken salad each time. Good amount of chicken, cooked and seasoned well. Salad fixings are fresh and importantly, the avocado was ripe. The lime dressing is really tasty. Could've used more, but that's probably just me. I like alot of dressing 😀 I would recommend placing your order ahead of time if possible because it seems you can expect a bit of a wait time. Luckily they have a lovely patio which is aesthetically pleasing and is a nice buffer to the busy adjacent street. Made the wait much more pleasant.
My friend recommended this spot and it definitely hit the spot for lunch. I ordered their rib eye taco and their Spanglish buger in a lettuce wrap. The taco was phenomenal and had the right amount of seasoning, cooked perfectly and a good amount of meat pieces. The burger was excellent also and it was very flavorful and the chips were phenomenal. I’d definitely come back here again to try their other menu items.
Great little spot on the corner of Atlantic blvd and Alhambra rd. Had the breakfast burrito. It was great ... good Mexican taste ..authentic.. I will definitely recommend and I will come back to try the rest of the menu... P.S. they have three outdoor tables that you can sit down and eat at 👍🏽
Delicious, authentic street-style tacos without the ghetto LA surroundings or vibe 😂🤭 $1 tacos on Tuesday. But prices aren't bad at all regardless. I definitely reccomend! Perfect meal after our hike! We got 2 beef tacos, 1 pork (I forget which one) taco and 1 fried fish taco (was a bit spicy for my low tolerance but the fish was delicious).
It's okay. First time there. Food and selection are good. Had the carne asada tacos. Tasted fresh but lacked flavor and somewhat dry for me. Gringo whitewashed carne asada tacos. No flavor. I will go back though and try some of the other items.
service can be hit or miss, but the food is excellent and typically fast. i recommend having a bell for customers to ring bc i have stood in front of the cash register for 5-10 minutes directly in front of the staff before receiving service. but otherwise a very positive experience
We ordered some quesadillas, enchiladas, carnitas and carne asada tacos. We did not like the particular food we ordered. The meet was very dry and couldn’t taste the flavor. There was no lime or lemon. I’d give them 5 stars for the food preparation time tho, they were quick. Make sure to ask for utensils when picking up.
I bet if the restaurant opens in China, it definitely will become an internet celebrity. This food stand has so many fashion elements. The shape, the color, the font, especially the handwriting on the blackboard. It looks like an Italian food booth, but it's a Mexican. Even better for me. The Crispy Fish Taco is way worse than Taconazo (any branch), the Grilled Shrimp is not as good as Tack Stand. But anyway, it's still a good taco option. Have a try, raise your thumbs.
So so overall. We got some food for takeout and was happy with some of it but not impressed with others. The fish tacos and shrimp tacos were quite good!! Everything else was mediocre at best. We got the al pastor tacos, beef tacos and chicken tacos which were mediocre at best. Finally we also got the veggie nachos which were so so - too many beans for my taste. Giving 3 stars because their prices were quite good. I don’t think I’ll be going back there.
I hadn’t been here in a while. I remember this place being really good. I got tacos and sadly the worst tacos I’ve had. Asada was overcooked the toppings were scarce. I was disappointed. Seasoning was very bland. Overpriced for what I received and for waiting about 20 minutes for my order. I’d suggest bringing back previous recipes, ingredients, or cooks. Customer service was great but food can be better.
I really like this place, but they changed their online ordering and it never works anymore. I used to order here at least once a week, usually twice. Always get the Pozole on weekends. But since they switched from Toast, the online ordering is always broken in some way and doesn't work. You can order there, but the wait time can be long, and I order a burrito with a lot of customizations, just some much easier online to do all that than yelling it at them from outside through the window, and then waiting in the hot sun for 20 minutes. Oh well.....
Breakfast burrito was disappointing. Ordered extra meat with avocado. Had high expectations but was a basic burrito. Extra meat and was regular size in comparison to other burritos I’ve had. Salsa is good but still didn’t make my opinion change on the burrito. Some small amount of meat was chewy and beans were a lil dry. Overall C rating for this burrito.
I got here at 9:41 pm and they close at 10 but the cooks said that I arrived to late to place an order for anything other than enchiladas. There should be a sign posted somewhere that states the ordering time window.
Food is mid, and overpriced also takes them wayyyyyyyy to long to make food, this place has to be a business due to lack of competition around Them, also, these people don’t have the sense of mind to yell out your number when your food is done they’ll just let it sit there honestly it’s god-awful customer service, And it doesn’t even seem deliberate. It’s just Incompetence. Took them 30 minutes to make Nachos it’s insane
I ordered a chicken quesadilla and a carne asada torta today and had a very disappointing experience. When I arrived, there was only one other person waiting, but I noticed multiple orders being called out with numbers higher than mine (I was 119, and they called 126), which meant people who ordered after me were served first. After waiting about 25 minutes, I asked if they could just cancel whatever wasn’t ready, and suddenly my order was “ready.” The quesadilla was barely warm, and the torta, while okay, really lacked meat. For the price and the wait, I expected much better. Overall, very disappointing and I won’t be coming back.
