Beef Burger Barrel Amarillo Reviews
Good food nice people.
It’s a greasy delicious cheeseburger. It’s like the cheeseburgers you get at a concession stand, the best. It’s not a guy in suspenders and a sleeve tattoo selling artisanal farm to table. It’s a classic American Cheeseburger. Loved it. Solid.
it was amazing!! i was beyond surprised my only complaint is my soda was pretty watery an it was regular instead but of diet but that’s not all to big of a deal. i loved the rest so much!!!
Food was as good as I remember. Though it has been many years since eating here.
Loved the burgers! Super fast and very friendly. Great place if you are wanting a old fashioned burger for a good price. Will definitely go back!
One of the best hamburgers in Amarillo. Every time I go back to Amarillo I have to visit. The service isn’t the best, but it is what it is. Call ahead if you want to eat there.
Really good! Burger was excellent, all the veggies were really fresh, fries also. One of the better burger places in town hands down. Staff was extremely kind and professional, really good experience overall.
I'm glad google prompted this review,I can't say enough about burger barrel I go there quite often so if your heart's desire is a big juicy burger at a reasonable price BB is the place to be,fast friendly and very professional service,I hear they have been there for quite sometime the tater tots and or fries are something to die for,not to mention the rest on The menu, you can have a pic in on their picnic tables,I have and it was awesome I actually met a young lady there lol but anyway.that was just an incentive for picnicing there,,back to review, you can't go wrong with BB try it and tell em Daniel sent you ! Sincerely, Me ! Thnx !
Burgers + steak fingers + french fries were so good I ordered two!? Best food in golden spread!? They give the Big Texan a run for it's money..honey! Take your family out for a treat! N. Harville
I've been around America, coast to coast, and the burgers produced here are easily the best I've ever had. The employee (s) are very friendly and hardworking. You can taste the experience band passion with every bite. It doesn't look like much, which makes the food here deceptively pleasing. I highly recommend getting at least one burger here once in your lifetime.
Pretty good food, I tried Beef Burger Barrel for the first time today and I was surprised at the menu selection. I ordered a cheeseburger and a deluxe burrito. Unfortunately I had already paid before the gentleman realized they were out of burritos. But he immediately made it up by offering a corn dog, and some fries at no extra cost. Upon eating, I have nothing but good things to say about the food itself, the burger was delicious, the fries were piping hot and fresh as well as the corn dog. I would highly recommend and I intend to come back soon to finally try the burrito
I’ve been living in Amarillo for 25 out of the 28 years of my life, and I finally decided to give this place a try. It didn’t disappoint! They had a great classic burger with hot, crispy French fries. They also had benches to sit on and munch out. The lady at the window was very friendly. I’ll definitely be back!
Nice little park with seating benches and a very large space man in NASA spacesuit

One of my most favorite burger joints in Amarillo. Can't beat it on a hot day full of hard work take a break and come get a tasty burger or jalapeño poppers!!!!!!!
Fast food that doesn't feel like fast food and tastes better. Took my girlfriend out for a lunch date and had a terrific lunch. Friendly staff. Definitely worth passing up the big chain places and stopping here
My favorite burger stop the patties are done perfect with hand cut veggies what else can you ask for been coming to this place for 20 years and hope for many more years

Better than Elmo's! I have never had a problem with beef barrel. Sure it may take some patience but this ain't McDonald's folks. Take your patience there if you have little.
I've driven by many times before but decided to stop today. I wasn't disappointed. They are better burgers than what you get at the big name burger joints. I'll definitely be back.
A little hole in wall type place, where good food is what they do. Awesome tator tots, thier burger was good, kind of tasted like Dairy Queen burgers to me(probably same supplier.) You can sit at their outdoor tables as well. It's not fast food, but we'll made. Thank yoi.
I had eaten here before and was really looking forward to their "1/4"lb burger. I was disappointed to find that the burger patty I remember had shrunk in size to about the same as 1 Big Mac patty. The guy who took our order was less than friendly, like he didn't want to be bothered with our order, and I almost left. Too bad my memory of the delicious burger from the past won the debate. I really could have gotten better food from McDonald's AND at about the same price.
We ordered 5 burgers for 10.00 and they were not skimpy burgers they were true 1/4 pound burgers everything was included on them and can be made to order. Very impressed with the quality of the burgers but the area it is located in is a bit sketchy. I don't know that I would want to go there late in the evening when it is dark.
This WAS one of our favorite places to eat a hamburger. NO MORE. We were trying to order our food and the attendant (a man) was extremely rude and was in a very bad mood. I promise I was being very nice. Cancelled my order.
I met my boyfriend there eating a burger

I really wish I could give this place a higher score as I've heard good things about it and have been eager to try it. My first experience wasn't as great as I'd hoped. First off they got our order wrong. We were shorted an order of tots and an order of fries. The fries were pretty bland and nothing special. Burgers were tasty but were not very warm when we got them. Not as great as expected from what I had heard about the place. That being said , it was close to closing time and they were kind of being slammed so I'll chalk some of it up to that effecting the quality. I will give them another try when it's earlier in the day and they aren't so busy.
Eh. Wasn't too impressed. Neither good not bad, just a burger.
There were a few homeless people hanging out other than that slow service and food being average
I have been eating at this place since I was a child. I am now 61. I was disappointed this last time. The burger patty was way overcooked. The flavor was there but it was a dried out small piece of meat. We got there when they opened so they weren't busy at all. Not impressed.
Terrible service. Owner quite rude. 40 minute wait time for a two burger order. Could literally go to the grocery store, buy ingredients, come home and make your own burger before your order here would be ready. Oh - and they had no ketchup. The hype has sadly passed.
People were driving up and then leaving straight away as the cook would tell people it was a 25 minute wait to get a burger. I bet the owner doesn't know that is what is happening. We tried to order bacon burgers but they were out of bacon. Good food though. We got a cheeseburger and a double cheeseburger with tots. The cow and big burger sign are gone and nowhere is there a sign telling the history of the barrel shaped drive-in. We had to get off the highway to find this place.... In hopes of finding a Route 66 lost treasure but this place needs love and attention before it could ever be THAT. This historic landmark had been relocated multiple times... And they picked an of the beaten path location... They should have arranged for this place to be put at the Cadillac Ranch where food and drink is absent and the tourists are plenty. It could have been a win win for everyone instead of this sad sad place. Because the food was just another greasy spoon hamburger and tots, I just don't see us referring anyone or seeking this place out again. Kudos to the owner for trying to save this place, but he needs to put a bit of money into the presentation and marketing of the billing and history of the landmark... and get more customer service oriented cooks.
Really disappointed in the quality lately. It used to be a great dive place to go where fries and tots were hot and crispy and burgers had a great texture. Now they're just mediocre at best, limp and barely cooked through. Maybe it depends on the cook of the day, but my last few trips have been less than impressive. Hopefully they turn it around.
Food was good, but expensive. My wife and I ate at The Big Texan almost for what we spent here. Good greasy dive burger though.

Second time visiting this little burger spot in Amarillo, Texas. And the food is okay. I've had the burger meal twice and both occasions were fine. Its conveniently located on the plains ave walking path. Its pretty much what you'd expect from a place that looks a little old. I can't say the prices are better than most, but I will definitely try again if I got 10 dollars in my pocket.

The quality lately has been lacking and it is starting to turn me away. In the past their burgers were cooked well and had great flavor, fries and tots were hot and crispy.. But now the food is just.. meh. Burgers are barely cooked through and grey instead of having that good grilled texture and fries have been coming out fresh from the fryer limp and lacking. Maybe it is all based on who is cooking that day but the last few visits haven't been reminding me of one of my favorite childhood burger joints. Hopefully they step it back up.
The food was just ok, but nothing special...the main reason I have to give this legendary place two stars was how expensive it was...4 burgers, 4 onion rings...no drinks and just Jr size meat patties for 45.00...ridiculous.
The burger wasn't bad, but I waited so long it was ridiculous. They were also changing the oil when I arrived at noon so there were no sides. The order taking was super archaic, he write everything, then proceeded to use the calculator for 10 minutes. Nice people but what I thought would be a 5 minute burger run turned out to be over 20 minutes and no sides. My daughter thought they were effectively "mustard happy". Entire burger was sopping with mustard.
Been calling for the last 30mins first time it rang for a while NO ANSWER, then the last times it’s a busy tone. The point of a business is to be accessible to your customers!! Does nobody in Amarillo know that??? 2 stars and that’s being nice!

We chose to go here today to keep with our Support our Community. Well I am so very upset the order and presentation of the food was horrible. This patty literally fit on half the bun. We ask NO MAYO and got it on 3 of the burgers. Two of us are allergic! We ordered large fries which were half cooked and over priced for the 8 fries I paid over $2.59 for! This right here is exactly why small businesses in Amarillo are dying! "Let's rob the community supporting you." Heck if you had made the best burger I would have tipped double, but now you get nothing else but this bad review. Should be ashamed of your results.
Wow.. the food was great but jerry the worker wow.. very rude and messed up the order and would not make it right. Visiting from out of town and thought would be a fun place to try.. be careful of the service..
Unfortunatel, this place is struggling just like any other locally owned business.. the hamburger buns are huge compared to the hamburger pattie. INFLATION is going to eventually cause the ownership to go up in price. They definitely need our support and hopefully soon things will get better..
Went late soda's where flat no carbonation. Tator tots where crispy dark brown but we ordered fries!! Burger was made sloppy lettuce was placed in bottom bun and slid all around. I called and told them the said come back Monday they where closed on Sunday's. I still have not pick the free order up. I was the worse fast food I've eaten in a long time.
So disappointed. I drove 600 miles to remember my child hood. No more shakes that’s ok. Asked for cheese burger no onions. Guess what got onions. Then after scraping them off. Got a patty about the third size of bun. Jalapeño poppers chewy at best.
I went bought 2 burgers on 5/6/22, one side of the burger was burned the other side raw. It was nasty I have been going here forever. But not at night. I don't know how anyone can give that to a customer. Tried calling would not answer. I wouldn't even give you star. Just gross.
Ordered lunch, my burger wasn't right, but hey, one out of four ain't bad, I guess. Burger patties were NOT what they have been known for and very disappointed they would use such cheap meat. We ordered 4 for 16$ with tots, okra, and cheese sticks. All sides were cold, except the cheese sticks. Those were cheap and overcooked. They gave us a box to put our drinks in, I'm guessing this is the meat being used. Sad. We had cherry limeades but no cherries, just wayy too much syrup and tasted like carbonated water. Most definitely not worth the price I paid.
Waited 30mins. Food wasn't hot, luke warm. My tots were burnt, asked for chili n cheese only had cheese on it. Asked for steak fingers, got a small chicken fried steak instead. Hotdogs are small. No good. Paid $30 for only 4 items. Wont be coming here again.
