Jacobo's Cafe Amarillo Reviews
Excellent food and atmosphere. Good prices and people. Got the burrito and it was delicious
We got the machaca and brisket enchiladas. Very authentic and delicious, friendly service and the price was right. This place is a hidden gem.
Food was very good. Service was awesome. Breakfast served all day. I forgot to take pictures but will br back to get some for sure!
Absolutely amazing experience at Jacob’s Restaurant! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, offering attentive service without ever being overbearing. The food was great every dish was clearly prepared with care and fresh ingredients. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for excellent food, great service, and a cozy, welcoming vibe. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to often!
Highly recommend this place. The service is always amazing as is the food. It does seem like they tone down the spice sometimes though, but I’m sure some people appreciate that. I got the barbacoa tacos for the first time today and I highly recommend. They’re not the fattier type of meat that I expected but they were still extremely tender and well seasoned. Maybe could’ve used a bit more spice so I’ll probably ask for that next time.
Small family run restaurant with a wide selection of offerings. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. A nicely decorated, clean and well kept interior giving it a friendly and cosey feel, helped by friendly attentive staff. Well worth a visit for anyone. We’re considering making it a regular breakfast/lunch stop.
Great atmosphere, very inviting. The service was tremendously given. The food was fresh, hot, and made how I ordered. Flat style, extra cheese, enchiladas with fried egg on top. Ice cold Coke with 2 limes. The sauce was decent, needed a bit more flavor. Side of beans was alright. Also came with potatoes with peppers. A bit lightly cooked in my preference, they were ok.. I would definitely eat there again.
Jacobo's Cafe was good. It wasn't "write home to your family" amazing, but it was good. Will I come back here? Yes. Will I go out of my way to come back here? No. The service was a little slow, but good. The food was okay. My barbacoa plate wasn't very hot when it came out, and the queso was very thin and runny... like too much milk or something? The decor was good, and the place was clean, the meal was just a *little* more expensive than I had thought it would be. Solid 3 stars.
I love trying new places, especially Mexican food. I've wanted to try Jacobo's for a while and finally had the chance this afternoon after the Veterans Day Parade. Unfortunately, after all the hype, I was really disappointed. I ordered the burrito plate that sounded like it was going to be a fabulous golden burrito stuffed with fajita steak, topped with queso and slices of avacodo, with a bed of mexican rice. Unfortunately, all I received was a lack luster burrito. My 2.5 yr old daughter wanted onion rings, and those were fabulous! My 1.5 yr old son wanted french fries...those were also very good. For a Mexican food place, their American food was better. Don't get me wrong, my burrito was decent, but nothing to brag about. Bottom line, I wouldn't go there again.
At no fault to the restaurant, when my wife and I came here, there was a very large group (25+) seated. This delayed our service significantly from getting drinks, menus, and the complimentary chips and salsa. However, our server was not attentive to us, or several other tables due to the demands of the large group. After 20 minutes we finally received the items, and waited to take our order. My wife got Caldo de Camarones y Pescado and I ordered the brisket enchiladas. Another 20 minutes of waiting and we finally received our food. Although it was hot, my enchiladas were comically tiny, while 80% of the plate was rice and beans. If there was a decent amount of meat in the enchiladas it wouldn't have been an issue, but the entire dish was insanely bland, even the enchiladas themselves had almost no flavor. Imagine taking frozen taquitos from the box and taking 20% off of that, that's the size of the enchiladas, which are priced at around $14. My wife's Caldo historically has great flavor, and this contained none of that. A singular carrot slice was found, but the soup had no real soul or flavor to be found. We paid just over $40 for an awful experience, and we will not be returning.
