Pan-Handler's Cafe & Catering Amarillo Reviews
Cool little underground spot. Food was good and the service was great.
The best-kept secret in town! We love this place! The professor, the Goudie and the club are all favorites. (also, gf bread options) We love their house made chips and the fries are crispy-delicious. Also, IT’s the best salad bar in town!!! That kale salad and those roasted brussels sprouts-yum! The service is always quick and super friendly. It’s a funny location-in the basement of a local bank but DO NOT let that deter you! They are open for lunch only during bank hours, so keep that in mind when planning your visit! The prices are very reasonable especially considering the high quality food they serve. Don’t miss this clean, cute, delicious little lunch spot!!!
The fries are awesome! The blt was amazing! And the service was fantastic and funny. She referred to the silverware as "food wapons". Loved it.
Wonderful, fresh, gourmet and unique offerings. Salad bar is full of nutrient dense foods; order menu has comfort food with optional twists.
Such a delightful find in the basement of a bank! Stopped on our way to CO and had the best Reuben sandwich we’ve ever had. Hostess was so friendly and welcoming, we’ll be back!
Visiting from Austin, and this is my second time to visit this week for lunch. I’ve had the California burger, which was too die for & today I had Liv’s turkey sandwich.. also very tasty. The waitress is ultra friendly and make you feel at home.

The Pan-Handlers Cafe is located in the basement of the Amarillo National Bank building, and it’s a great place for lunch. I had the unlimited salad bar and a cup of broccoli cheese & jalapeño soup, and my only regret is not being able to eat more of it! The staff was super friendly and helpful too. I would highly recommend this place for groups meeting for lunch that prefer quieter environments.
We were passing through Amarillo and we found this hidden jewel. I was impressed with this small basement lunch venue located in the downtown Amarillo bank building. Everything was very clean and the food was excellent. The menu has plenty of sandwiches including some vegetarian options. We had the Vegetarian sandwich and the Professor. The salad bar was fresh and delightful! It included kale, other greens & veggies, fruit, and even roasted vegetables like brussel sprouts, zucchini, and broccoli. The service was spot on! Everything was worth the trip.
We were just passing through Amarillo, and went here based on all the good reviews - so glad we did! Great selection of soups and sandwiches, and the salad bar was amazing! I would definitely recommend this to anyone, and especially veggies and vegans!
This is a neat hidden gem of downtown. I meet my dad here for lunch often and I’ve always had a good experience. Sometimes the service can be slow during the rush, but the waitresses are top notch so it evens out. And the food is BLISS! Their burgers are heaven.
Really enjoyed the Bacon Goudie burger. Lots of good flavors, just the right level of kick. Excellent salad bar options - worth it to add on in the place of chips.
Best salad bar ever! Food quality was wonderful and don't get me started on the fabulous desserts. The lady who makes them is super friendly and has fabulous skills with the sweet treats.
This place is terrific! If you're looking for great food at a good price, this the place for you! Always fresh and always delicious. The staff are fantastic! If the staff was any better I'd live there!! I'll go back again and again and again!
We were on our way to Palo Duro Canyon for a 3 night stay. Stopped here for lunch . The cafe is located in the basement of the Amarillo National Bank. We were warmly welcomed by the hostess. My wife got a small salad bar plate and a cup of broccoli cheese soup, I got a Rueben Sandwich. All delicious. Sampled the Pizza Supreme soup, it tasted like a pizza without the crust - delicious. Had a house baked chocolate chip cookie for dessert. We highly recommend the Pan-Handlers Cafe.
A best kept little basement cafe in the ANB plaza buildings downtown. If you find yourself in the area anyway, give it a go. ❤️
It was our first time here and everything was delicious, I got the Philly and my wife got a club sandwich and they were both a solid 10/10. Salad bar is excellent, but could use cucumber! Prices aren't bad either! Most sandwiches are around $8-$10 for a whole or $6 for a half. Soup and Salad bar is $14 for AYCE. 10/10 recommend! The restaurant is inside the bank!
We had a great lunch at Pan-Handlers yesterday during our time in Amarillo. Thanks for the kindness, the yummy sandwiches, and, of course, the cookies!
Really love the salad bar. Come here wirh my dad often. Service is always great.
If you live in Amarillo or are just driving through, you should absolutely visit Pan-Handlers Cafe’! The service was excellent, the food was delicious, the salad bar was impressive, and the fresh-baked cookies were a huge hit with our whole family! This will be our go-to for lunch anytime we are traveling through Amarillo.

Decent lunch spot with a good salad bar but it takes too long to eat there at lunch. If you're a business person
