Carthay Circle Lounge Anaheim Reviews
The atmosphere was perfect. while the lounge is on the ground floor, it is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the park allowing for a nice quiet reset to enjoy tasty bites and a cocktail. We had two kids with us and they were welcomed in the lounge. If you're not super hungry, I recommend ordering a number of appetizers to share with the table. the backstage and sopes were our favorite.
Carthay Circle Lounge is an absolute must! Absolutely delicious food from start to finish. We began with the spring rolls—so good—and then the lettuce wraps and bao buns arrived… WOW. Completely blown away! Those two were hands-down our favorites. Incredible flavor, beautiful presentation, and every bite felt special. The ambiance was over the top in the best way—elegant, festive, and welcoming. We also had excellent seating in the perfect spot to catch the end of a parade and watch the Christmas tree lighting, which made the experience even more magical. Everything about this visit was exceptional. We will absolutely be returning—this is officially a new favorite in our happiest place on earth!
It’s a reservation-only spot, perfect for a park day lunch. The portions are just right—not too big and not too small—so you can keep enjoying your walk without feeling overly full. The flavors are fresh and well-balanced, and the service is attentive and friendly
The Soy Glazed Salmon with Soba Noodles and Cashew Cucumber Salsa was amazing. The salmon was melt in your mouth tender, and the sauce was delicious & balanced. We reserved beforehand but it took about 10-20 minutes more to be seated.
We have dined at Carthay Circle many times but never at the lounge downstairs. We very much enjoyed it. I had The North African Roasted Organic Chicken Breast and Jovita had The Moroccan Roasted Chicken Meatballs. Both dishes were savory and delicious with good flavors. For our drinks she had Berry Lemonade and I had a Bloody Mary and a Disney 70th draft IPA. We both had ice water as well. We love coming here!
We reserved that morning for a lounge spot and thought it'd be overpriced or too fancy, but it was the best meal I've had in both Disneyland resort and DCA. For an extra few dollars, I thought the food and drink quality was top notch. All their drinks are doubles. The chicken (while it's a protein I don't usually order) was extremely juicy and fresh. The kid's chicken skewers was devoured by my daughter (and she barely eats anything). I think the Vietnamese lettuce wrap was the star of the meal. I wound up putting the extra chicken and other bits into the butter lettuce and cross dipping sauces. I'd come here just for the drinks, but it was all delicious. French onion soup is fantastic. Shout out to Jacob who steered us in the right direction and was so lovely with suggestions and small talk. Can't wait to come visit again!
We came and were kindly greeted by Kylie and Serina. They were very attentive and polite to us. Their excellent service is one of the reasons we love coming here. We ordered two Tequila Daisy’s and one espresso martini. If you enjoy a refreshing drink with a little extra tartness, the Tequila Daisy is for you. On the other hand, the espresso martini’s were a perfect 10/10 so we even ordered a second round!! Highly recommend coming when visiting DCA!
What a lovely place in DCA to feel a little grown up just steps away from the fun cartoons atmosphere. The decor is on the elegant side but without feeling stuffy. We sat inside the lounge without reservations. Had flavorful appetizers and cocktails. My double pear martini was light and refreshing. Carthay Sopes with Duck was very tender and you don't taste a gamey meat. Spring Rolls with crab was light and not too filling despite the large portion size. The hazelnut Mickey ice cream was delicious! I'll be back every time I go to DCA.
This quaint al fresco dining experience feels right at home at Buena Vista street. It's a perfect place to take a break from the park and immerse yourself in the golden era of the past. The food is good enough; this is not a fine-dining. But salmon was really delicious. Espresso was excellent, and rose sparkling water was truly must try. If you are a Disney fan, do not miss a little diorama brought here by the Disney archive. *during pixar fest, we were able to watch the parade comfortably from our table.
Had the pleasure of dining at the Carthay Circle Lounge on our recent trip to Disneyland and had by far one of the most magical experiences I've had in the park. The ambiance is spectacular with seating options from their outdoor patio, to their central lounge and cocktail bar. The menu is Alfresco, so expect smaller plates, but there's nothing small about their flavors. We had the Moroccan Chicken Meatballs and Malai Kofta Potatoes, and were pleased with both dishes! But by far what wowed me the most was the exceptional service. I came by early for our reservation to let the staff know I planned to propose to my partner. I knew that Disney restaurants and the park staff in general were known to be helpful and accommodating for special occasions, but my every expectation was still blown away. First, they offered us seats upstairs in the main restaurant, despite being booked that night. When I said our group wasn't quite hungry enough for the larger entrees, they let me choose the table I wanted downstairs and coordinated with me on taking the ring and bringing it out for me to surprise my partner. When we checked in, the hostess saw us to our table cool as a cucumber like we had never spoken. They brought the ring out on a beautiful centerpiece with our drinks (I regret I was too full of nerves and adrenaline to think of taking a picture at the time!) and as an additional surprise, the manager gifted us VIP passes for World of Color that night, for our full group. Thank you to Michael and the rest of the Carthay Circle Lounge for helping me make an unforgettable memory for us both. 💜
Ate here 07/18. Our waitress at the bar gave us such impeccable service as did the barman. Food was phenomenal. I had the pork belly bao and salmon. The sparkling Rose water was a delight. My friend and I shared a Hazelnut Crunch Mickey Bar. Prices are expensive but soooo good!
I would make a reservation way in advance. The food was really good. They were small portions though, so don't come starving. The drinks were good too. We had a two-year old with us standing on the chair the whole time, but they were nice about it.
Very welcome environment & delicious drinks 🍹
We started off the experience with an overwhelmed and unfriendly host staff which felt very off for Disney, but once we were inside and past the doors, everything turned around. If you're up for sitting at the bar top, MYRO IS THE BEST! Also, we had Jennifer as a server and she was amazing, as well. Cocktails were high end, the food was great but for me and my party, it always comes down to the service. Thanks to Myro and Jennifer, we will be back!!
This is our favorite restaurant at Disneyland and we've tried them all (we're annual passholders). It's small plates which we love but it does get expensive. This is beautifully prepared food. We love the Bao Buns, Vietnamese twice cooked beef lettuce wraps, strozzapretti pasta, kofta potatoes, meatballs, salmon and their salads change but are always excellent.
Dined here on our last trip to DCA and had a wonderful time. We tried several dishes (perk of the Lounge is that you can order lots of bites to try different things in smaller portions), but the one that stood out the most was the Beef Lettuce Wraps. As per the recommendation of the lovely couple at the table next to us, we ordered them with a side of kimchi cucumbers and it was amazing!
Nice lunch experience - good food, good service. Sat outside and was very pleasant.
My waitress Holly was amazing and very friendly, the food was stellar and outstanding! Would definitely come again
It was our first time there. We were at DCA for the Oogie Boogie Bash. I made reservations at that time only 4:30pm was available. We loved the food. I ordered the Filet Mignon Beef Skewers. My Son ordered the Sustainable Fish (salmon). We also ordered the Ratatouille to share. Our waiter was Jay. He was very nice and attentive. We will definitely go back again.
We are annual pass holders and love to go after work, weekends, or whenever we just want to treat ourselves. This day was particularly warm so the parks weren't as crowded as usual. Surprisingly we were able to get on the walk up list (only available through the Disneyland app) for the Carthay Cirlcle Lounge. Took about an hour to get seated which wasn't bad at all, and even though we were at an outside table it did seem too hot. Service is always good, the main courses we had were tasty. I recommend the filet skewers and the spicy spring rolls for sure. Avoid the chocolate cake dessert at all costs. It's pretty to look at but the cake is SO dry it ruins the whole dessert.
Had reservations for lunch. Food menu mostly consists of shareable appetizers which were a great break from munching on typical park food. Drinks were ok, a bit on the watery side, probably not worth the cost. Outstanding server.
The building, decorations, and ambiance are definitely 5 star and the service was pretty good, just not above and beyond. We had pasta and spring rolls and each was pleasant but forgettable. The blackberry lemonade was tasty but the obvious winner was the rose sparkling water.
It feels odd, like a real restaurant that somehow snuck into Disney.
For date, couples is a good place
-------------- We had lunch at the Cathay Circle Lounge as a family. A very mixed reception because we were early, compared to our reservation. And despite the cold outside, we couldn't stay warm while we waited. Once back and seated, we had a great lunch. The server was very smiling, friendly and good advice. A very pleasant 1930s setting and atmosphere. A complete menu where everything can be shared. Interesting dressings and good dishes.
Decent food but could be better Overpriced but it's Disney sooo whatever. Good drinks. Small portions The chicken is super dry, stay away. Not kid friendly This place gets mega busy. Order everything you need at once.
The first thing I wanted to highlight is that if you're reserving the lounge, be aware that at least half of the seating is outside. It is mostly covered, but there will be areas that are in direct sunlight. If it's hot out, you will still going to be hot. It's also clear that people will sit inside longer if it's hot out and the Disney way is not to press that issue. Apart from that, the food was good, although a bit pricey for what it was (which others have mentioned). Our server was quick, kind and informative as the vast majority of customer facing cast members tend to be. This is an issue with the way Disney manages things here (and it seems to be a bit different than the East Coast) and they should make very clear when you make a reservation that there is a strong possibility that you will be seated outdoors. Pics of Ratatouille and chicken meatball dishes
Alfresco dining; ambiance ok, food needs improvement. Food 4, Plating 2, Price 3 Salmon was perfectly cooked but plated on top of ugly mayo'd potatoes and green beans. Fur this price, it could have plated to be pretty; pool of white sauce on bottom, non-dressed fingerling potatoes and fish on top. Rose petal soda is pretty but too subtle and not refillable. Would suggest you dine elsewhere for "upscale" meal.
Service was not that great, the waiter was working many tables and we did not get a lot of his time. He was always in a rush. Food portions are small for what you are paying. I know we had dinner at the lounge but the portions were more bar portions with restaurant prices.
Very overpriced for the food. The chicken meatballs were very tasty, especially the pomegranate salsa, but the duck mole sopes (Carthay Sopes) didn't taste fresh and needed more salt. The filet mignon skewers tasted weird -- like organ meat and VERY irony. I mentioned this and was told this was normal. Overall $85+ for 3 disappointing tapas and a non alcoholic beverage = won't be back to this place for food. Server was nice and it was clear she had been doing this for a while. She did a great job explaining the menu and suggesting items and drinks.
Way over cooked the pasta. At this point in the world all pasta needs to be cooked al dente. It was also under flavored. Waiter not that interactive.
Service: 4 They are very nice and accommodating. No complaints! Drinks: 4 Mmmmmm some of my favs! Disney: 1 for ambience and idea but we’ve been coming here for years and price inflation is obvious. The more people find out about this gem the more Disney takes advantage.
Unfortunately, I was disappointed with my first visit to the Carthay Circle Lounge. We had a reservation at 3:30pm, but we weren’t seated until 3:50pm. Once seated, we were given water, but our order wasn’t taken until much later. I suspect they may have been understaffed as several tables were empty in the lounge despite our delayed seating. We visited during the Disney California Adventure 2026 Lunar New Year celebration, so there were seasonal items featured throughout the park. I had my eye on the Golden Moonfire Cocktail. Although this item was only listed on the menu for the Carthay Circle Restaurant, I asked my server if I could still have it. She said yes, so that is what I got. To be frank, I did not like it. The drink felt heavy and weighed down by a thick, suffocating, medicinal syrup. I would liken it to cough syrup. It was not palatable. I also did not think this drink was on theme with the Lunar New Year celebration. Sure, it was red. But the flavors didn’t make sense to me. Why pomegranate? Why strawberry? These are not flavors that I would associate with an Asian flavor profile. I also stole a bite of my friend’s Spicy Ahi Tuna Spring Roll. I personally did not like it. I thought the sauces didn’t really make sense with it. I think a spring roll is supposed to be light and fresh, and the chili oil and the saltiness from the soy sauce contradicted all of that. Peanut sauce, fish sauce, or hoisin sauce would have all been better choices. My friend liked it though. Some positive notes - the lounge itself is quite nice. It feels like you’re sitting in the lobby of a nice hotel. The bar is very pretty as well. I love the dark wood with the bottles illuminated in warm light. It’s a comfortable place to sit, chat, and rest your feet after a long day of park hopping. I also liked my friend’s Mai Tai. It was a well crafted drink, and I had nothing bad to say about it. It gave me some reassurance that the drinks here are usually good. Also, our server was very nice. But drinks aside, I felt like operations had a lot of room for improvement, from inconsistent reservation times to delayed service. I understand that there may be a degree of variability due to the seasonal menu items and unexpected factors that may affect service, but I just feel like so many things went wrong during this experience that I could not overlook everything. I will leave a 2 star review for now, which I think is fair, and would be open to revisiting Carthay Circle Lounge in the future.
The most disappointing restaurant of our Disneyland trip. It's no surprise that the prices are very high, but unfortunately the quality of the food doesn't justify it. Our group was eager to leave and finish dining elsewhere. We were seated at a high-top near the bar, and the atmosphere was surprisingly mediocre. The only positive aspect of our experience was the decent service.
The service was really good. The menu items are really weak. The food itself was not very tasty. I would not go back to the Carthy lounge again. Spent $72 on two appetizers, dinner item and one non-alcoholic drink definitely not worth the price. I will try the Carthay Circle restaurant at a future visit. I didn't realize when booking the reservations that there was a lounge and a restaurant. Mistake booking at the lounge!
Menu was limited. There was a parade going by and was told I could not watch despite my reservation and was a paying customer. For shame Disney…..
Aj from chino hills told us at 7:00 pm 1 hour before closing they had done last call and were not allowing walk ins . Confused as they had a full hour of service left . We re-checked in with a hostess who was very polite and said she would try and squeeze us in for a drink at the lounge since she said that was still fully operating . The same aj came back and refused to seat us. When asked what time last call is so we wouldn’t run into the same issue in the future , he responded with a very rude response of “it depends, the time scales”. As an inspire magic key holder this experience was truly disappointing.
Spent an hour here to get two mediocre appetizers. Sat past reservation time and server was inattentive.
Zero stars if I could. Alfresco in reference to dinning means outdoors, but they define it differently - ONLY serves appetizers. Do not come here with expectations of eating at a restraunt with typical restraunt portions for dinner. You will be disappointed.
Couldn’t tell ya, the front employees were nice they sat us inside and we waited for awhile until we realized they must be training all the employees that are walking around so we kinda figured no one was coming to take care of us and being in the industry I have a 10 minute rule and I’m out so I’d skip and try another place before coming back
Food was mediocre. Service was the best we've had. But the table next to us played kids shows on high volume for the entire hour we were there. Dennys ok... a fine dining restaurant???
When your kids have to eat Pringles at the table it has to be pretty bad. Their chicken was super dry. Service was so bad I had to pile plates myself and ask for them to be taken away. Very sad for a Disney restaurant
