Wow, I was so blown out of the water with this tiki bar. The best I’ve ever been to the cocktails were well crafted. The mai tai was delicious. I will definitely be back again. The service was 10 out of 10 and the ambience was as well. Highly recommend.
Roughly 15 minutes from the Disney Resort in Anaheim is the best tiki bar in Southern California, and it is definitely one of the best experiences in Orange County. A mixologists approach to cocktails is taken, as all ingredients are freshly made in-house. Cocktails are deliciously well-balanced. The drink menu does change periodically, so there will always be something new and good to try. The food items on the menu are flavorful and really tasty, so you should definitely enjoy a meal here. People here are amazing, and you'll experience good, friendly customer service. The interior of the location does escapism very well, which you need to experience. There are two bars within, so check them out. It is best to make reservations, especially going into the weekend. Check for hours of operation and special events. Definitely pay this spot a visit, pull up a seat, order a drink, a meal, and lose yourself in amazing for a bit, and enjoy! I will definitely see you here. Cheers!
This place is so cool. We had the brunch and ordered everything on the menu for it and nothing disappointed including the drinks. The staff were incredibly friendly. Absolutely loved it!
Hands down the best tiki bar experience in socal. The cocktails are absolutely top shelf, no cheap tacky tiki here. Amazing mugs, a wide variety of classic and new tiki cocktails, and a super immersive atmosphere make this place second to none. Reservations are required, we at the 2 seat high top in the captains quarters. Staff was friendly and helpful. I wish we had this back home in Honolulu. There were no bad choices on the menu. This is the top followed by false idol in san diego and stowaway just down the road. Bali hai in San diego is another great, but 4th place choice. They also offer parking validation at the garage across the street.
Absolutely stunning inside! And the cocktails are some of the most flavorfully and creative drinks I have had in a very long time!
Yea… you gotta come here!! This place is AWESOME! The theme through out the bar is so cool! The staff was super friendly, the drinks are amazing! The food was good not great, but it was brunch and it was last call so that might have been the reason PLUS it’s a bar come on
A very magical place! If you love ambience and themed eateries, I suggest you make a reservation here! We went on a Wednesday night and there was still a wait even with a reservation. The place is pretty small but they make up for it in decoration. Think pirates of the Caribbean! We sat on a high table in the Captains Quarters. The drinks are expensive but very strong, as the name of the establishment suggests. I ordered the drunken noodles and banana batida, hubby ordered the shrimp appetizer and zombie king drink. It was intimate and fun. If you love this theme, reserve for your next date night.
This is one of the best Tiki Bars I’ve been to. The staff was outstanding and the drinks delicious. The ambiance is impeccable. Check out their YouTube video on the history of the Zombie King!
Never would have expected a Tiki brunch to work as well as it does. Strong Water nails each of the Tiki staples along with some of their house concoctions. The Zombie king is a must. The Tales of the black lagoon was also really good. Their house Lost Voyage rum is world-class. The food had an Asian influence. The breakfast burrito with porkbelly was a slam dunk. The banana pancakes also got rave reviews. Their carmel sauce was so good. The staff were great and we enjoyed the aesthetic, especially the captains quarters, fountain, and bathrooms.
I asked in a FB Tiki lounge group what Tiki Bar I should visit and Strong Water was the most recommended. Friendly greetings and when you walk in you’ve stepped into a different world. The ambience and mood is exactly what I hoped for . The drinks were amazing and lots of food options even for those with food allergies. Service is punctual and friendly , they run a tight ship . As with most Tiki bars they are pressed for time which is understandable. Strong water staff is just a couple notches above most places . Not making us feel rushed .As Tiki enthusiasts we’re happy to spend our max time of 2 hours to make space .We’re definitely making this our go to place when we visit OC . Give yourself time for parking to be sorted out if it’s your first time .
We've been coming to Strong Water for years and it's easily in our top five of all time. Every detail from the moment you walk in is expertly thought out. Food, drinks, atmosphere, staff, they're things you won't find elsewhere. Good for a boozy brunch, an after work dinner and drinks, or a late night cap. Currently on a quest to try every drink on the menu and we're almost done! Our highlights are the Buzzin' Jungle Bird, Zombie King, Dead to Port (seasonal), and Naval Grog. Always new seasonal drinks to try out, so never the same experience. Food menu is always changing with some staples like the crispy lumpia. Always a good meal. Chef Steve can really put a dish together! I miss the pork chop and hamburg steak, bring them back! We've gotten to know the staff over the years and everyone is always so excellent to us. It really shows that everyone takes care of each other here. So glad this is a spot in our back yard here in Anaheim!
Strong Water is hands-down one of the best hidden gems in Anaheim. From the moment you step inside, you’re transported into a tropical speakeasy that feels like an adventure all its own. The atmosphere is warm, immersive, and full of detail—every corner tells a story. The cocktails are simply next-level. Each drink is crafted with creativity and balance, often served with an impressive presentation that matches the tiki vibe perfectly. Whether you’re into rum classics or something bold and new, the bartenders are incredibly knowledgeable and happy to recommend something amazing. The food is just as impressive—fresh, flavorful, and far beyond what you’d expect from a bar menu. The small plates pair beautifully with the drinks, and the service is friendly, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic about what they do. Strong Water isn’t just a bar—it’s an experience. Perfect for date night, catching up with friends, or treating yourself to a unique night out. I can’t wait to come back!
Walking into this tiki bar felt like stepping into a portal where all my responsibilities evaporated and were replaced with pineapples wearing sunglasses. The décor is peak island fantasy — bamboo everywhere, glowing lanterns, and at least three tikis who looked like they were silently judging my life choices (fair). Now, the drinks. My goodness, the drinks. Each cocktail was so delicious I briefly considered proposing marriage to the bartender. These creations were bright, bold, and strong enough that halfway through my second one, I started seriously believing I could surf… despite the fact that I can’t even balance on a rolling office chair. Every drink looked like a postcard from a tropical getaway — fresh fruit, swirly straws, tiny umbrellas that I’m 99% sure increased my happiness by at least ten points. Edgar was hilarious, kind, and super friendly matching the tiki vibe. He guided me through the menu like wise island sages, except with more rum and better jokes. If you want an evening that tastes like vacation, smells like coconut, and feels like a cheerful ambush by good decisions disguised as bad ones, this is your spot. Five gloriously tipsy stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The best tiki bar on planet Earth. Maybe I'm biased because The Blind Rabbit is my favorite cocktail bar, but Strong Water is special. The attention to detail and quality in perfection is on full display. Innovation is always my favorite thing here. The drinks and food are top tier, but the service is impeccable. Amazing staff and the best drinks.
Strong Water in Anaheim is an absolute gem for anyone who loves a good tiki bar with a twist. This pirate-themed haven has become my go-to spot, and with good reason. Their seasonal menu keeps things fresh and exciting, offering both alcohol-infused and non-alcoholic concoctions that are nothing short of innovative. Currently, they're celebrating the "Happy Hula Days" for the Christmas season, and the atmosphere is as festive as it gets! The new menu, which debuted on October 1st, continues to impress with its creative offerings. The house burger with Spam is always a great choice, but my personal favorite right now is the Hamachi Crudo—an absolute delight with its fresh, vibrant flavors. The Thai deviled eggs and tater tots are must-tries. I swear, they’ve never done a tot wrong! I do wish they’d bring back the gin-cured salmon and that spicy mustard they used on the pork chop tomahawk. Those were truly standout items. The staff, or should I say "the crew," are consistently fantastic. Iris, our server during our last visit, was phenomenal. Her humor and expert recommendations added an extra layer of enjoyment to the night. Overall, Strong Water is a delightful escape with its unique theme, delicious food, and outstanding service. Whether you're a regular or a first-timer, this place is sure to impress! 🌺🍹🦜
IFYKYK type of place! Came from San Jose for some Disney fun but this place is the spot ! Didn’t know what to expect but so glad this was my first stop in Anaheim ! The decor , staff, food, and drinks is the perfect backdrop for a great time ! Try the Loco Moco burger if you wanna melt as you eat it’s so good ! Seasonal Halloween drinks presented in tarot cards for menus is a killer idea! Fried oysters and deviled eggs are so delicious! Hope you get lucky with a reservation!
Super nice speakeasy with generous pouring and extremely attentive staff. The ambiance is very nice. Josh (server) and Yin (owner) are fantastic hosts. The drinks are very creative and delicious. If you want something mainstream, you could also get wine. A great place to get some glassware as keepsakes! The owner also operates the Rabbit Hole and another location at the packing area. I super recommend.
Ambiance: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Food: 4/5 Drinks: 5/5 Price: 5/5 Parking: 4/5 After another visit, Strong Water continues to be my favorite tiki bar! Gale and Iris took care of us during this latest visit in the Captain's Quarters, and I already cannot wait to return!
Thematically fun tiki bar with superb cocktails, most especially if you're into the nautical piracy vibe. Indoors even smells like you're in the Pirates of Caribbean ride at Disneyland. All their classic cocktails are delicious. They just ended serving their 6th Year Anniversary, limited time offer celebration drinks; but this time of year, you can enjoy holiday-themed craft cocktails, too. My wife and I were lucky enough to walk-in and get indoor seating yesterday, but it's highly recommended to book a table ahead if you want guaranteed indoor seats. We will definitely be coming back to try their food items.
Strong Water is one of the best tiki experiences I've ever encountered. Delicious drinks, amazing service, and beautiful, immersive decor. Truly transported to another place! Shout out to our incredible bartender, Jamie, who effortlessly whipped up masterpieces while sharing menu tips and leading us through our drink journey. Absolutely coming back for a visit!
Spectacular experience with delicious cocktails, yummy appetizers, and friendly service. Sabrina, our server, was super attentive and made us feel like VIPs. The bartender, I forget his name but he's a dead ringer for William Turner from Pirates of the Caribbean, was a wizard with making their Christmas in July drinks. Our visit and experience were incredible, we can't wait to visit again soon!
Strong Water steers you through troubled seas! Ask your skilled and knowledgeable mixologists for their drink recommendations based on your palate and you won't be disappointed. Note it is a tiki bar, not a tiki restaurant so the food selection is somewhat limited. The drink selection however is limitless and does not disappoint! They were very caring when it came to food allergies and were sure to followup when making menu selections (I loved this!) Be sure to read about the parking validation on their site and be on time for your reservation.
The Loco Moco Burger & Lumpia were the Best Ever! The burger was simply fantastic! The Lumpia was superb! Drinks were great and atmosphere was truly amazing! Highly recommend - 5 plus stars!
From outside of this unassuming establishment you might think you're at the wrong address, but as soon as the doors open you are transported to a time of buccaneers and pirates. Amazing drink menu, great food menu, souvenirs of your trip. I was lucky to go to strong water on my first trip from Canada, and I can assure you I will be a repeat customer.
Fast & Friendly service. Had the Zombie King, Cobra Fang, Mai Tai and Pacific Coast Hurricane. All very good and the Zombie King was an extremely unique flavor cinnamon, all spice and Walnut Bitters really good! The food was also very good cheese fries with Filipino sausage? Uh yes please. They have mugs and merch in stock which isn't exactly something all Tiki Bars are able to keep up with. Make an indoor reservation and park at the parking garage one block north. Parking is validated for 2 hours.
The atmosphere swept us away into another world. The food was amazing and various allergies were taken into consideration when developing their menu. Every staff member was knowledgeable about what was in each menu item and were serious when it came to food allergies. As for the drinks... Each was a piece of art! Delicious and the presentation was perfection. A great spot to grab a drink and food!
Got a reservation in the main room right next to the grotto and it was pleasant to hear the waterfall throughout our dining/drinking experience. We were seated promptly and the whole dining experience was excellent. Started with 2 appetizers (Brie katsu and loaded curry tots) and some drinks like two of the coladas. The flavor of the food was unexpectedly great and well seasoned. We got some the black sesame and pineapple whipped coladas and they were awesome. The black sesame was rich and flavorful. The pineapple whipped colada was a spin on a dole whip topped with some toasted coconut. Ordered entrees and got the salt and pepper pork chops and crispy and the blackened ono sandwich. The pork chops were perfectly cooked and seasoned and paired nicely with the peppers and garlic. The ono sandwich was very tasty and paired nicely with the yuzu mayo and was served with choice of fries or macaroni salad. Capped the night off with a nectar del sol and Humuhumunukunukuāpuaʻan and a Kona mocha brownie. The nectar del sol was very tropical and refreshing and the Hawaiian state fish drink was a very unique gin drink that was a good change of pace to the other rum drinks. The brownie was rich and had a medium coffee undertone and served with ice cream and a chocolate drizzle with raspberry. It looks like the expansive menu changes seasonally so every time you come you can get a different experience. Would recommend for a unique dining and tiki bar experience
We travelled from San Francisco and we love the tiki bar scene there, I’ve been to many and this is the best tiki bar experience I’ve ever had! The owner and staff were so pleasant and knowledgeable. The attention to detail of the interior is the best I’ve ever seen. Drinks were outstanding as well as the food. Wish we lived closer
Great tiki bar with awesome staff. My husband and I stopped in on a Monday night, sitting at the bar, and ended up chatting with the bartender, I think his name was Ash(?). The staff was fast, courteous, and tolerated lots of questions about the drinks. We even got a few tastes of off menu syrups and infused liquor which was awesome. Will definitely be going back and really enjoyed the ambiance and drinks. Try the Three Dots and a Dash - it is delicious, complex, and deceptively boozy!
Love the shipwreck theme! There's a short tour with a back story, on your way to your seat (we booked a reservation for the captains quarters) and the ambiance is awesome! The food and drinks were even better. With over 40 different beverages and a seasonal menu, I'll definitely be back to try more! Got the Sweet and Sour Pork Ribs, Japanese Curry Tots 🤤
Amazing tiki bar down to the last detail! We loved our servers Gale and Jaime they went above and beyond with customer service! The food was delicious- wings and the burger with Japanese style fries Highly recommend getting reservations. We sat at the bar and had a great time! The custom tiki glasses were awesome and getting the drinks served in them made for a good experience
Exclusive tiki bar in anaheim near packing district. To get inside you do need to have reservations. To try drinks and dine outside you don't need a reservation just walk up. They do have a limit of how long you can stay. The drinks are so delicious my favorite was the missionary downfall which was similar to a mint julep with alcohol. We also had the deviled eggs, lumpia and longaniza fries. All really good.
This is such a special place and worth the trouble to wait and go for a special occasion. We went for our wedding anniversary and all of the staff were so kind. Our waiter Eddie was terrific and took photos of us. Drinks are wonderful and the ambiance is so creative and unique. Now they just have to expand our make another one in South OC. Also it’s nice to take a walk after dinner. It’s a really fun evening and the prices are reasonable too. We loved it!
Fun tiki bar with a great variety of creative drinks. Food is also great and will want you calling seconds. Ordered a Pacific Coast Hurricane drink, Shoyu-Garlic Fried Chicken, Deviled Eggs, Longanisa Cheese Fries, Sambal, Shrimp Po Boy, Thai Tea Cheesecake, and House-made Salted Caramel Ice Cream. The Pacific Coast Hurricane was a fun citrus drink that was not too strong and went down easy. Fried chicken was crunchy amd had a good sweetness from the sauce. Deviled Eggs had a very nice light consistency, Longanisa Cheese Fries were a crowd favorite and probably a must for your next visit. Sambal Shrimp Po Boys had a slight kick to them that was pleasant, note that it was served with a side of fries too which were nice too. The Thai Tea Cheesecake was very dense and delicious, not too sweet. The salted caramel ice cream was very good, also not too sweet, and the caramelized banana slices around the ice cream were a tasty addition.
This experience was incredible. I’m from out of town, but travel to this area for work and cannot wait to come back. Food, atmosphere, service were on another level of excellence. They ask for dietary restrictions and allergies before you are even sat and those are communicated with bartenders and servers alike which is so nice. The bartenders were so knowledgeable about the menu, provided great recommendations and were so personable. I have not had a dining experience like this in a long time- it was magical. A must try!!! *make reservations to ensure you and your party can be sat according to your schedule, they are amazing so they fill up quickly.
Got lucky and made it in without a reservation. Rainy weeknight might have helped. Way over the top tiki extravaganza that will make you ask if you are in Disney. It’s that good (of bad, depending.) Excellent food and even better drinks. Extremely helpful staff with rum tips. Everyone seemed to be having a great time adding to the fun vibe. If you like tiki, this is a must try.
IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING STRONG WATER YOU MUST MAKE A RESERVATION. Sorry for yelling, but I wanted to grab your attention to help reduce disappointment. It is not a large place, and can stay booked months in advance. Went to Strong Water for my first, but not my last time. My party of three were seated at the bar in the Captains Quarters. A small room that sat about 12 people. Small in size but huge on atmosphere. The drinks are amazing, fun, and if you can’t find what you want from the 25-page drink menu, they’ll gladly mix up whatever you want. I had the Pacific Coast Hurricane similar to the one Pat O’Brien’s invented in the 1940’s. My second drink was a fruity non-alcoholic beverage that our most excellent bartender, Eddie, blended up for me. I still wanted something fun in the spirit of the bar, but without alcohol. It was a strawberry, pineapple, citrus blend of heaven. It was a very fun experience. We will put this place on repeat. And make reservations!
The ambiance is absolutely amazing in this place. The music matches the vibe and the staff are even better. Jamie is the man and took great care of us! We will definitely be back!
Went here for a friend's birthday and felt like I was transported to a fantastical, shipwrecked den straight out of The Little Mermaid, Peter Pan or Pirates of the Caribbean. I felt like a mermaid would approach us at any moment - basically, the ideal ambiance! It's very moody and eclectic. You definitely feel like you're underwater. Supposedly they are strict on reservations, so please note that. We were seated at a booth that has been immortalized by Disney Legends - check out my photos below. So this is definitely an iconic, historical site for anyone who loves Disney. Staff is friendly and checks on you often. I ordered two drinks - they are pretty pricy at $16-18, considering they are simple and fruity! They are not very strong but depends on your definition of strong! I think they were the Banana Batida and the Birds of Paradise. Banana Batida: cachaça, banana rum, pineapple, lemon, coco lopez. This was good but I often forget that creamy drinks with liqueur are not my favorite. Regardless this was still excellent. Birds of Paradise: vodka, pineapple, lime, cane, strawberry, cucumber, peach bitters. This one is divine and a must order. It is so refreshing in a next-level way, I think because of the cucumber. The food looks great - I can't wait to go back!
Amazing atmosphere and theming for this tiki bar. As far as food, the wantons and curry were both amazing and the "MaHalloween" Dead to Port and did not disappoint. The Captain's high top was a perfect table for two and gave a great view of the theming in the Captains Quarters. Will definitely be making another reservation to come back. Went back for Happy Huladays, and same amazing experience. Remembered to take some pictures this time.
Must-go! Anytime someone comes to town I have to take them here. If you are a tiki fan (or even if you aren’t) you will love this shipwreck experience! The drinks, food, staff, and atmosphere are fantastic. Reservations make the experience more structured and enjoyable in our opinion - book in advance! The deposit to hold your spot gets released back to your account once you arrive for dinner. Enjoy!
Sat at the bar, an excellent selection of tiki classics and new drinks, all were fantastic and plenty of options for all tastes. Service was excellent, telling us the breakdown of the cocktails and making great recommendations based on our preferences. Food was great, the crispy eggplant curry, garlic shrimp starter, and pork chop were all great in their own right. Great service from Jamie and the others at the bar.
I was able to make it to the soft opening last night, and I was impressed. Even with a limited menu and a constant flow of customers this tiki bar is definitely ship shape. The crew is friendly and helpful with drink or food choices and will even give you a tour of the ship. You can even get reservations for the Captains Quarters, a gin bar that is behind a heavy door. Once again they did not hold back with the decor and it helps keep you immersed in the tale of of this vessel. I highly recommend you check it out if you enjoy tiki bars, theam bars or craft cocktails.
All about the drinks! Strong water is a great spot for tiki drinks with friends in an intimate type setting. Bar itself is dimly lit, which while creates an ambience, almost is counterintuitive to all the effort they made in the interior decor of the place. The whole concept is a capsized sinking ship, and there is something cool to look at every where you turn inside the bar. As you would expect from a tiki place, drinks are mostly based on rum, and they are not made too sweet, which is always appreciated. Tried their signature zombie king, lilikoi sunset, and Cobra fangs. The drinks are well balanced. Only half complaint is that the lilikoi flavor is too muted on the lilikoi sunset. Otherwise, the other drinks are bold, and not lost behind tropical flavors that get incorporated. As for food, we only tried the fried chicken appetizer and the longanisa fries. Both are good enough as a snack to go with the drinks, but I wouldn't come here for the food by itself.
We had brunch here and the drinks, food, atmosphere and service were all top notch. This place is a must visit if you appreciate classic tiki drinks done right. I had a Jungle Bird with a slight variation of a coffee infused Campari. It was perfect! We had great service and entertainment from Gregory o behind the bar in the Captain’s Quarters. Go here!
ENCHANTING !!! Such a cool experience and VERY friendly/courtesy staff. The drinks came out quickly and were super refreshing. I would skip the food, it wasn't good or bad, it just didn't leave an impression, but everything else was exceptional. My favorite part was definitely the decor and ambiance, feels like you're on vacation and have been transported to an island. *** HIGHLY recommend ***
This is definitely a place I recommend. My husband and I came here for birthday drinks and dinner and as soon as we stepped in we were transported into a different world. Our mixologist Joey was amazing. She gave us a few suggestions on the drinks and food were amazing. We will definitely be coming back here again.
Lives up to the hype! I have been trying to go here for the last two years during Expo West and they have unfortunately had private events or have been closed. I was so excited to finally get a reservation and come here and I was not disappointed! Some highlights were the Dole Whip Colada, The Zombie King, Tales from the Black Lagoon, Banana Batida. The very large serpent cocktail that is shared was tasty, but the fire show made it really worth it. I was surprised that the food was actually pretty delicious as well! The best part of all is the atmosphere. We sat in The Grotto which just added even more to the whole experience.
Easily top 5 bars ive been to. Top notch interior designed by imagineers and some of the best food and drinks ive had at a bar. Cant find a single bad thing on the menu. Just make sure you book weeks in advance as reservations are hard to get and sitting outside as a walkup would be sad
Everything about Strong Water is well done. The decor and ambiance were spot on. The decor completely supports the idea of being capsized in a ship. The service and staff were wonderful. And the food and drink deserve their own accolades. My favorite drink was the serpent’s grasp but we also really enjoyed the tropical itch, corn & oil, and beware of the trade winds. The pho beef dip was stupidly delicious. We will absolutely be back.
This is one of my favorite places I've ever been to. First thing to know, you'll need a reservation and it is 21 and up. The atmosphere of this place is incredible. When you walk out there's only a small humble little stand that says aloha on it beside a couple of rum barrels. There's a nice seating area outside on the street as well, but the magic happens on the inside. When you're led in through the big wooden double doors you are transported into a capsized ship that has become a dream on the inside. Tables line the right side and on the left side you have a big beautiful tiki bar with decorations that can defy description and can only be experienced to get the full understanding. We were celebrating my birthday and were led past the initial bar, past a waterfall in the walls and led to the back bar lounge. We were led to a two top table with a personalized card saying happy birthday. The service is the same type of service you would expect before star restaurant, but it has the casual nature of a friend. The menu is loaded down with so many drinks that it's overwhelming but the servers and the bartenders make sure that they explain everything to you and help you find exactly what you want. They have award-winning drinks, award-winning food and we were told that they changed the menu every five to six months. I am a fan of a hurricane so I got a hurricane and they brought me a special birthday daiquiri shot. We had already had dinner before we came and were just there for drinks, but the menu looks spectacular and I cannot wait to go back and try the food! If you want an experience... This IS THE PLACE! I have a tiki mug collection that I'm very proud of and I end up walking away with one of their specialty Tiki mugs too. It was packaged nicely and wrapped in a nice carrying bag with their logo on it and inside they gave me a sticker as well. I was beyond impressed with the entire experience and cannot wait to go back again! Next time I'll spend more time there, have some of their delicious looking food and more of those award winning drinks!
Some of the best cocktails I've ever had. While a bit pricy the drinks were worth every penny. I can't believe the flavors they were able to create in the tales from the black lagoon cocktail. The mango sticky rice colada was also unbelievable with the rice infused into the drink giving it an incredible creaminess and depth. The food was also delicious including the appetizers and dessert but the burger knocked it out of the park. Top it all off with the incredible atmosphere and I give strong water an A+. Only downside is reservation is required and limited to a two hour slot.
Loved everything about our experience here, my wife took me out for a burger crawl for my birthday, ending here for drinks (as well as to try another unique burger). Food: At $25, the Loco Moco Burger is expensive but is huge, very good quality and worth the price, with an egg and spam as well as a side of Mac salad (which was OK), or can choose a side of fries. Drinks: The drinks are wonderfully crafted, we loved the creative options including some that come in the different ceramic bowls. Vibe: An immersive tiki bar experience, with the decor making you feeling like you’re on a ship. The authentic decor rivals and is probably better than Disney or The Cellar, and reminded me of the experience we had at Lost Spirits Distillery in Los Vegas, which is vaudeville themed. Captain’s Quarters: I’d recommend this area if possible, it’s the back area and small with just a bar, two 2-tops and one 4-seat table I believe. Service: Outstanding, we felt well-attended to. Price: Going rate for a quality dining and drinks experience in 2024, with most drinks around $17-18. Worth it for the fantastic evening.
Both the food and drinks were amazing. Tales from the Black Lagoon was outstanding; possibly one of the best tiki drinks I've tasted. Loco moco burger, beer battered beans, kids smashburger; all excellent. Service was top notch from the entire team we interacted with. Note: while the inside is 21+, they have a great patio setup that is kid-friendly.
Outstanding service!!! Amazing food and drinks! My husband and I went to this wonderful restaurant to celebrate our 8 year wedding anniversary. Since the start of our reservation, we received a tour of the place, and when we got our seat, we were surprised with a sweet sign that said happy anniversary as well as a complementary shot. Adam was our bar tender and server and we couldn’t ask for a better person to host our special day! Thank you so so much for a wonderful experience! We got better and more magical service here than in Disneyland 😁 we mean it! Don’t miss out on a beautiful and fun place in Anaheim! We can’t wait to go back!
This is a quick $10 Uber from the Disneyland bubble, and it’s well worth a quick side trip- IF you can score a reservation! We had two seats at the Captains Quarters bar where Jamie took excellent care of us. Their drinks are inventive and made with care and precision. I’ve seen some complaints about the ice to drink ratio, but watching Jamie make the drinks, the LARGE glasses are filled at least half full and then they pack the crushed (Sonic style) ice into the glasses which makes it look like the ratio is wrong. I promise, you’re getting as much or more liquor as you will anywhere else at a high end bar in LA. Food was fantastic- we got the shrimp appetizer and the chicken dish. The chicken is unbelievably tender, if a little bland. However, the sauces they provide are the real star of this dish. Overall, this is themed as well or better than anything at Disney with a true dedication to making drinks that are as inventive as they are delicious. Come in, have fun, and don’t do cocaine in the bathroom!
StrongWater is what you get when you combine Pirates of the Caribbean, the Tiki room, and a great neighborhood bar into a single concept. My wife and I first went here when they were doing curbside service during lockdown and they were so friendly during pretty rough times for everyone. Fantastic food to go and drinks to take home. We have continued to visit since then and they just keep getting better and better. The Halloween drink menu was amazing and the Christmas menu is right around the corner. If you are local to Anaheim, this is one of the hidden gems in Anaheim with a great friendly local vibe with amazing drinks. If you are visiting Anaheim, make this one of your top stops. The atmosphere, the fantastic food, and the wonderful staff make this feel like a Disneyland experience.
This tiki bar restaurant is an absolute gem! From the moment you step inside, you're transported to a whimsical world reminiscent of a shipwreck, evoking a fun and nostalgic vibe reminiscent of SpongeBob. The decor alone is worth the visit! But it doesn't stop there – the food is absolutely amazing, with flavors that tantalize the taste buds. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the cleanliness of the place adds to the overall positive experience. It can be challenging to secure a reservation, but when I finally managed to snag one during the week, it was well worth the effort. My experience here was nothing short of wonderful, and I can't wait to return for another unforgettable dining adventure!
I've been to dozens of tiki bars all over California and all over the world, but this one is absolutely the best! Both the drinks and the food are as good as it gets. Be sure to check out their special holiday menus for Halloween and Xmas. I quit going to Trader Sam's when I discovered this gem.
First time going here and it Did Not Disappoint! The theming is amazing! Loved all the details. The cast all were super friendly and nice. The bar tenders made amazing drinks! Even the patrons were all happy and the energy was amazing. The Garlic Butter Shrimp was amazing! So juicy and lots of flavor. The amount of shrimp was a very generous portion. The chicken wings and Limpia were also packed with flavor. The drinks were delicious. Out of the 48 cocktails we enjoyed 6, so we definitely need to come again to try more. We really loved it and can't wait to come back.
Our first time going here and it was INCREDIBLE. They upgraded us to a table for my birthday which was incredibly sweet- the vibes were immaculate- I understand why this bar is always booked out. The drinks were incredible our waiters were amazing, everyone was so kind and I got the coolest mug. Cannot recommend enough!!
July 2022 Visited Strongwater for the first time to celebrate my fiancés birthday! It did not disappoint, the drinks, atmosphere, and service were impeccable. We had so much fun and can't wait to come back. Edit July 2023: We went back for my fiance's 30th birthday to the Happy Hula Days event. We loved the decor and music to get you in the Christmas spirit. The staff is so kind and attentive. Honestly, we didn't like the drinks as much and wish we had reserved the regular menu. The dead to port was our favorite drink we had. Overall it was still a great time and I can't wait for our next visit!
Beautiful and cool themed decorations, excellent vibes, pleasant staff, quick food, great drinks. We got the rangoons, Japanese fried chicken, and rice noodles with ribeye. Ribeye was a little chewy/tough, but everything else was excellent. We got the taro Colada, the miehana, the banana batida, and then two shots of the Snacharie.
This place is amazing!!! The atmosphere is like walking into a different world. The chicken wings were the best I’ve ever had in my life! Drinks were tasty and strong like advertised. My wife and I took my niece and it’s was nice to be able to hear everyone and have a conversation, (Some places are way to loud and crowded) If I’m ever back in Anaheim I’ll definitely be back. I’d recommend making a reservation any day of the week.
I was very impressed with the service and drinks here. Staff was great and really made me feel welcomed to be there. Make sure you have a reservation. I was looking for a bar with a cool atmosphere and great drinks so I was really glad to find this spot. It was exactly what I was looking for
As a first time Tiki Bar goer, Strong Water left me with some pretty high expectations for anywhere else I might go! It seems pretty busy on weekends so get reservations as early as possible so you can sit inside, it's a million times better. I didn't have a single negative interaction with any of the staff, from the host up front to our servers and even the owner, everyone was so passionate about this project and business and they really served up some crazy cool drinks. I highly recommend the banana batida or the pineapple whipped colada for some sweeter drinks, I got hooked on those. But others in my party got their own share and all of us were deeply satisfied. The food was on point and not expensive either, even for some decent sized meals!! Inside is dark, low lit and full of the tiki vibe, boasting a wrecked ship themed seating area. Would I go here again??? ABSOLUTELY, I've got plenty more drinks and food to try!!
I had an absolute amazing time here. The atmosphere of a sunken pirate ship was fun. But their drinks were well thought out and masterfully executed. Our bartender, Erica, who served us in the Captains quarters was very knowledgeably about tiki in general but also rum and we had a great time trying her recommendations! The condensed milk cake was also a great end to the night!
I don’t usually leave reviews, but I absolutely had to for this place. Strong Water in Anaheim was the very first bar my significant other and I have ever been to, and it completely blew us away. From the moment we stepped inside, the atmosphere was immersive and intimate, like stumbling into a hidden tropical escape. What truly made the night unforgettable was the incredible service, especially from Erika. She was warm, welcoming, and genuinely excited to guide us through the experience. Erika’s energy added such a personal touch that we felt more like part of the story than just guests. We ordered the Loco Moco Burger and it was outstanding. Juicy, packed with flavor, and perfectly balanced, it hit every note. If you’re into bold, satisfying food, it’s a must. We also tried two cocktails: the Zombie King and the Lost Pearl Diver. Both were phenomenal. The Zombie King was intense and layered, with a flavor profile that kept changing with every sip. The Lost Pearl Diver was smooth and buttery. Both were beautifully presented and fit the vibe of the place perfectly. This wasn’t just a night out. It was a memory. Strong Water set a gold standard for us when it comes to ambiance, food, drinks, and hospitality. We can’t wait to go back.
How have I not been here before?! The drinks were delicious 🍹🧉 the food was even more amazing 🍚🍤🦐 & the best part was the company ♥️ the cutest tiki bar that’s an upside down ship inside ⚓️ • • • Crispy lumpia, Hawaiian garlic shrimp, crispy tempura green beans, chilled noodle salad, and dumplings 🥟 The brownie dessert with vanilla ice cream was SO GOOD TOO! I’m not a rum drinker but the caramel rum was ALL TIME MUST HAVE!!!!
I can't say enough about how wonderful my experience at Strong Water was on Saturday. First, I'm a big fan of fancy cocktail places. So, when I learned about Strong Water months ago, I was very excited about the possibility of going there. The place is so popular that it's very hard to get a reservation on the weekend, but you can get served without a reservation if you choose to sit outside. My sweetheart and I we're lucky enough to get to sit inside. The ambiance of the place is exactly what you would expect. I've been to a number of tiki-themed bars including Trader Sam's at Disneyland. Strong Water has the best decor and feel of any that I've been to. At a place that is so popular, I didn't expect the staff to be so friendly. But everyone there was amazing. Including the host and our server, Eddie. They were so accommodating in every regard. And the owners of the restaurant have gone to great effort to make every detail interesting and entertaining. The menus were works of art. Because it's October they offered a number of seasonal drinks and I'm a big fan of pumpkin spice, so I got the pumpkin cocktail. My sweetheart wanted to get something more tiki traditional, so she went with the Mai Tai. We were both delighted with how quick the service was and how delicious the drinks were. We also ordered food and again the service was fantastic and the food was delicious. We ended up ordering the 8 oz wagyu burger. We asked for the side to be tater tots and then the server asked us whether we would like the curry sauce for the tater tots. We said yes. The meal was unique and tasty and satisfying. We're definitely going to be coming back and I'm sure we'll bring friends with us.
We visited this place last night for my bosses birthday. This place is super cool. I love a good Tiki Bar and this did not disappoint. It is kind of speakeasy stilyle with a nondiscript entrance. The servers were all very nice. The place was very busy for a Wed night. I had the Cannonball Total which were huge and tasty. Also had some of the miso sea bass which was good too. Be aware though if you are coming for food there is very little that is GF. I didn't get to try one of their 40+ specialty drinks. I just had a beer. But everyone liked theirs would definitely come back for drinks, very cool spot. We did have reservations.
Phenomenal Tiki Bar Experience! Amazing drinks, both classic and original. Detailed and high quality custom mugs. Delicious appetizers and entrees. Spectacular theming that extends throughout every part of the establishment. If you’re a tiki fan, this place is FOR SURE worth going to! We had a party of 2 on a Thursday at 7 PM, and were able to get sat at the bar without a reservation. Some free parking is available on the street.
Love this place! Fantastic craft tiki cocktails that are well balanced. Immersive experience inside, where you’re transported into a shipwrecked tiki bar. Food menu rotates and taste varies, but always great fries with a tropical ketchup. They list all allergens in the food, which is a welcomed update. Most recent menu is best so far with chili fries, Japanese fried chicken and ube basque cheesecake. All delicious!
We were in town for a wedding and decided to venture around for a fun tiki bar, and I must say I absolutely loved Strong Water! The drinks we amazing, the food was delicious, and the staff was super fun. Since we're here for a few more days I might even come back and try more of the intriguing cocktail menu. 12/10 would recommend!
This is definitely a top bar in Orange County, love the vibe of this tiki bar. The bar isn't a gimmicky tiki bar, it is actually top notch. A real standout was the bartenders, who are so knowledgable, and made great recommendations. You can tell they are passionate about their craft and take their time to make outstanding drinks. For Christmas, they had a fun 12 nights of Christmas themed menu. My friend and I ordered the Rum Barrel which was the perfect blend of sweet and booziness. A underlooked part of the bar is their food game. They have definitely stepped it up in recent years. We ordered the lumpia and tater tots, both were so delicious and the much needed grub to go along with the drinks. A+ all around!
The staff were extremely kind - from walk up to walk out. It was our first time here and we were celebrating our anniversary. The restaurant was kind enough to provide a “happy anniversary” card and two free shots! I think every person that assisted us wished us a happy anniversary! The ambiance was very cool. Even the menu was themed with a story. The drinks were delicious and the food was yummy!! We also tried the lumpia (not pictured) which were pretty good. Apparently, their food menu rotates… I guess we’ll have to go back!
Absolutely loved this place, only reason I hadn't rated the food was because I showed up too late to get any [totally my fault]! Definitely get there with some time to spare and make a reservation. Very nondescript looking building outside, but youre instantly transported upon walking inside into a tropical oasis. Beautiful decor, stiff drinks, fantastic service and genuinely fun and entertaining atmosphere. I regret not spending more time here but had been at Disneyland all day. Fun fact, they often collaborate with Disney legends Kevin and Jody to create really intricate/cool looking tiki mugs if you're into collecting that sort of thing. This place has a little something for everyone. I will be making a pit stop here any time I'm back in the area for certain!
Siempre se come bien.
It was my 2nd time here and I have to be honest… I had a better experience the first time. I came with my girls for a 1pm reservation and upon entry they inform you that there is a 2 hour limit and that our reservation is for 1-3pm Which we completely acknowledged and understood ! No problem! We started off with 3 Velvet Banana, which was amazing! Velvet Banana • COFFEE, BANANAS & SMOOTH! LOST VOYAGE RUM, COCONUT INFUSED RUM, COFFEE LIQUEUR, ESPRESSO, BANANA, WALNUT BITTERS, BANANA WHIP Then we ordered crispy lumpia, fried oysters, hawaiian garlic shrimp and crudo (i think thats what it was called) We were enjoying ourselves Laughing and loving our appetizers and drinks Around 2pm the waitress comes and reminds us that we are almost at our time (Mind you we have until 3pm & we have not exceed the 2 hour maximum) Then we order pineapple colada and Taro colada (Didnt taste any alcohol in it, did not finish the drink as it was all ice and decoration) She comes again around 2:15pm Ordered the tiramisu cake to share When it came, it was very underwhelming Didnt taste like tiramisu at all We took 1 bite each and She comes again around 2:30pm At this point we were not enjoying ourselves anymore. The waitress was disruptive and rude for barging into our table We were very aware our reservation was until 3pm She kept coming to our table and we were already getting annoyed of her Not sure why she needed to remind us of the time 3-4 times in an hour is extremely excessive Anyways we will probably not be returning It was a nice idea But the service made us very uncomfortable
I can’t give it 5 stars as I’ve only visited once so far. But, SW does reflect to be a top tiki bar destination. Danny the door guy was very pleasant as was Jesus, who escorted me to my “captain’s chair” at the bar. It would’ve been a little more thoughtful of the bartender to make the gal by herself feel a little more welcome. But I probably looked pleased to be by myself anyway. The drinks were well crafted. I had two from the special “sippin’ Santa” menu, so I’m looking forward to returning and try some of their regular cocktails. The decor is well done. It definitely has a good escape experience feel to it. The waterfall corner feature is lovely.
Did not quite live up to the hype! Even though the concept and decor are fantastic, the drinks just were not that great. It also may have been that we were in the Captain's Quarters, which is very small and not much to see if you are sitting at the bar. The Moco Loco burger was an amazing heart attack on a plate. Staff was nice and friendly, we just thought it was a bit overpriced and ultimately, it's about the drinks for us.
Been here 2 times and even decided to come here for dinner on my birthday because I enjoy the fun vibes and atmosphere. Check out the unique bathrooms!! Knocking down 1-star due to the first time I came here and the bartender over served someone at the bar, who ended up passing out on the bar and then straight up vomiting all over the restaurant floor and right in front of the table we were sitting at. Understandable mistake, but sloppy service for a restaurant serving such a liquor forward menu - gotta learn how to better read the situation before it becomes an issue that involves the entire dining room and a potential health hazard where someone’s well being is in danger. If that guy had been anymore passed out and drunk at the bar, the bartender should have called 911 for a transport to the hospital.
Excellent, new tiki. Get the fries, they're perfectly fried with amazing seasoning. The burger was delicious, though messy. As for the drinks, the Zombie King was spectacular. All drinks I tried were solid, but the Zombie King was really above them all. They've stolen Ash from Trader Sam's, so you know the drinks will only get more refined over time. As for the atmosphere, it can't be beat. Deeply immersive, perfect lighting. They created a whole world in this small little nook of a bar.
Tl;dr: It's a great place but maybe not worth the high price tag and impossible reservations. If you're desperate then make a reservation a month in advance or gamble for an off peak walk in I called in advance for seating for a party of 6 (we were okay splitting up too) on a weekday night and was told that space would be available in about an hour. We drove across town and when we got there our group was turned away for the night. Incredibly disappointing and unprofessional. I used to love this place but after my 3rd time here, it's something I might avoid. The inside is indeed very lovely and themed and most of their drinks turned out well. However, reservations are almost impossible to get unless you're obsessed. Walk ins could be available for off hours but other than that maybe on the patio. This area seems like a neglected, last minute addition for extra cash though so meh, if you're not inside, it's nothing special
We had birthday drinks here last night on 9/9. It was our first time here. The vibe was cool and all the drinks were really good. We sat at the bar top and a male and female bartender were behind the bar. The female bartender, I believe Erica may have been her name but I can’t remember for sure. She kind of took away from the experience. Since we had never been, we asked her what she would recommend, she said, “ We have over 40 cocktails on the menu, why don’t you look at the menu.” Then we just asked what’s her favorite drink and she said, “I hate when people ask me that question.” We have been to several tiki bars around the country and the whole atmosphere and level of service always made it so fun and that’s not how it was in the case. We were excited but unfortunately we will not be returning. We will check out stowaway in Tustin next time.
Catfished by a pirate bar. The appetizers are called Underway and we were on our way to a disaster or a meal. I spent the last two years wanting to eat here for my birthday. We tried to go last year but health issues kept us away. I made reservations for the captains quarters (this small four person table is in a corner in the back but is quieter than the front tables). We had a few mixed drinks and champagne. I understand making money off of your mixed drinks (we own a bar), but this is a little ridiculous. There was maybe 8 oz of total liquid in this very large cup with tons of ice. Four big sips and it was gone. My husband had a sample of their in house rum, since they don't carry any brand rums (Captain, Sailors, etc.) It tasted nothing like rum. It almost tasted like a white corn whiskey. No molasses taste, just tons of ethanol tastes. Appetizer : Chicken wonton Super small portion, very spicey and pretty presentation Stir-Fried with steak: Noodles were good but steak was very dry and we didn't eat most of it Pan Roasted Hainan Chicken & Rice: This is an airline breast (which means a breast with leg attached) but it looked and tasted like airline food. Looks boiled, no salt, pepper or any seasoning. It was possibly the worst chicken I've had from a nice restaurant. Loco Moco Burger: Burger was large, fries were good Grilled Swordfish: Cooked well, no fishy taste, portion was small but out of all of the things we ordered this was the best. Even at that it was not an amazing plate. I feel so disappointed since I've waited so long to come here and I came here for my birthday. It is very pretty inside even if the pictures on instagram are heavily filtered. The food was just one disappointment after another. I really can't believe how bad it was. I spent so much time reading reviews and looking at pictures online. Someone needs to reexamine the menu. I heard the waiter tell the table next to us they had 30 minutes, I can't imagine spending this kind of money and having a clock ticking. By the time it was over I didn't even care about taking pictures of the inside like I wanted too when planning.
