Top of the V receives high praise for its delicious food and exceptional service, especially from staff like Pedro. The lamb is a standout dish. Some find the balcony area lacking heaters and the afternoon sun can be strong.
Tip: The restaurant is a great place to chat and have a pleasant time.

My wife and I absolute had a wonderful time at Top of the V! To begin with, self parking was very good and they validate! When arrive, you take the elevator from the lobby of the hotel to the 12th floor. Once you're there. You will be treated with such beautiful views of the city. The restaurant is so elegantly decorated and so classy! Great place to show off a romantic partner or even business dinners. I was a little embarrassed because I broke a glass right after they seated us and yet all the servers helped to clean up and made is feel as if nothing happened! So obviously service was professionally and excellent! Seemed like the whole restaurant were working for the two of us! Food was fantastic! My wife had the land and sea and I had the NY steak. Both were delicious! The octopus appetizer was great also! Don't know if they have it every day though, since the waiter mentioned it was a daily special. We're definitely coming back and highly recommend this place for a relaxing dinner and beautiful views! Still feeling bad about the broken glass but I left a nice gratuity to cover it!
What a welcome refresh for best view in Anaheim. Best steaks you'll find anywhere around. Something for everyone though as solid Spanish classics. Go now...thank me later.
I just wanted to share what an awesome experience my fiancé and I had here. We celebrated a late Valentine’s Day. Open kitchen was awesome we sat right next to it. View was amazing watched the fireworks right at 9:30
Wife and I came here on a whim for dinner on our honeymoon and we legitimately could not be happier with our choice. Pedro was our server and he was outstanding in every way. We got four small plates to share and each one was better than the next. Her steak was perfectly done and the house chimichurri sauce was excellent. I got the Ibèrico pork chop and I’ll be dreaming about it for a while. 10/10, no notes - will be back next time we’re in Anaheim.
Amazing experience, food was tasty and made to order, very delicious, our host was attentive and always smiling, we would love to visit again, paid $40 for hotel parking just to know that we did not need to since we are going to the restaurant, they have not refunded me yet although we gave the details to the lady responsible
Delicious food and worth the price. The view is lacking and the sun hits your face during the afternoon… However! The food was excellent! It came out quickly and the drinks were strong. The quality of the lamb was fantastic, and the service was amazing! I totally recommend coming here just for the food. The experience of the rooftop wasn’t anything to write home about, but if we can keep on topic, it’s worth the price of the plate. 5 stars because it was a lovely experience when it comes to dinning! Parking is pricy!
Top of The V is hands down one of the best rooftop dining spots I’ve been to. Sitting on the top floor of The Viv Hotel, it offers incredible views of Anaheim, and Disneyland feels right there—not off in the distance, but close enough that you can clearly see the fireworks and lights from the park. It adds this amazing energy to the experience, like you’re part of the magic without actually being inside the park. I sat at the bar inside, and it was the perfect spot—great atmosphere, stylish but comfortable, with bartenders who really know what they’re doing. As a margarita connoisseur, I had to try their take on it, and it did not disappoint. Their specialty cocktails were all top-notch, but the margaritas, in particular, were perfectly balanced—fresh, flavorful, and with just the right amount of kick. Plus, the pours here are generous, which is always a win. For dinner, I went with the rack of lamb, cooked medium, and it was perfect. Super tender, seasoned just right, and so good that I actually had to talk myself out of ordering another one to bring down to my room. Their menu leans into Spanish flavors, and from what I saw coming out of the kitchen, everything looked incredible. After dinner, I took my drink outside to one of the fire tables, which was the perfect way to wrap up the night. The warm glow of the fire, the city lights, and Disneyland right there in front of you—it’s just an unbeatable setting. Top of The V isn’t just a great restaurant; it’s an experience. If you’re in Anaheim, don’t miss it.
This place will now hold a very special place in mine and my now fiancé's hearts :) It's where he proposed, so now whenever we drive the down the 5 freeway, we can now look up at this place and go from thinking "Aw, it'd be nice to go there for a date" to "That's our spot!". He brought me here as a date night, so I had 0% inklings of anything happening. But the service was great and it wasn't just when we were both there. He and my sister had visited a week prior to scope the spot and test the food, and they loved the food as service as well! The paella had that crispy, but not burnt, rice on the bottom and was delicious. But I think food-wise, the stars of the show for me were their charred octopus and cheesecake! Will for sure be coming back for that. Back to staff. Shoutout and huge thanks to Cynthia and Whitney (coordinator and night-time manager) who helped my fiancé pull this off and make it a complete surprise. Every detail was executed perfectly and the other staff members who served us were so awesome too! This place is a perfect date night spot. Great ambiance, great view (Disneyland fireworks), great food, great staff. 100% recommend this spot and we will for sure be returning.
Wow!!! I had the most amazing night at this beautiful rooftop Bar/restaurant. Staff has an amazing energy. Very welcoming and helpful. Food, as you can see it looks and taste so delicious. Love the fire pit! I brought friends to celebrate my friend’s success. They loved it as much as I did. We will be back to try more food and drinks. We do recommend to experience this place. I will be back to try the duck 🦆😊♥️
📍Top of the V An elegant restaurant with a rooftop terrace offering Spanish cuisine, tasting menus & cocktails. We had an amazing dinner while overlooking Disneyland and the incredible sunset. The food was amazing, the Octopus and beef cheeks were the best of the bunch, the drinks were perfectly paired. Thank you to chef Edgar Beas.
Top of the V in Anaheim offers an exceptional dining experience. The rack of lamb is a standout dish, cooked to perfection with a flavorful seasoning that leaves a lasting impression. The chocolate soufflé is a delightful ending to your meal, indulging your taste buds with its rich and decadent taste. The restaurant's ambiance adds to the overall experience, with breathtaking views and attentive service. While prices may be on the higher side, the quality of the food and the memorable atmosphere make it worth the occasional splurge. Whether it's a special occasion or a desire for fine dining, Top of the V is a top-notch choice.
Went here randomly and I had such a great time. I was blown away from the hostess to the bar to the servers. I have nothing bad to say about my experience here. They made a point to sit us by the window without me having to ask. My bf and I got to see the Disneyland fireworks and it made the evening even more special for our first time. Everyone who worked there suggested wonderful drinks and dishes. We ordered the octopus appetizer and the cheese ( OMG the cheese ...yum) We also ordered the rib eye and the seafood papaya. It was all to die! And the decor is so lovely. I felt so special :)
A hidden gem in Anaheim right down the street from the hustle and bustle of Disneyland. Truly an escape from with a view of the city and on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday you can enjoy the fireworks from Disneyland with an unobstructed view. The staff was extremely polite and attentive. I would suggest making a reservation, but as a walk-in, we were welcomed in right away. We walked in for a nightcap, and the amazing cocktail list and fine spirit selection were exactly what we were looking for. To top it off, we had to order desserts as they smelled and looked delicious
I had an excellent dining experience thanks to Kevin!! His attentive service, friendly demeanor, and promptness greatly enhanced my meal. He definitely was knowledgeable about the menu, offered helpful recommendations, and ensured that all our needs were met. Overall, a top-notch dining service that positively contributed to the enjoyment of our evening. Thank you for all your help Kevin we really appreciate it. Definitely coming back
Lovely experience. Get the tasting menu with the wine pairing and make sure to order the optional bread and ham. The octopus is one of the best I have ever had, including in Spain. The service was a team effort, lead by Bernard who acted as the Som as well. Everyone was friendly and efficient and knowledgeable and made the experience more fun. Lastly, the space is beautiful. If it is nice out, try for a spot on the terrace. No matter what, aim to be there around 9:30 for the nightly Disney fireworks.
Had an amazing dinner experience here last weekend thanks to the fantastic staff. Manny, our bartender, started us off wonderfully with good humor, knowledge about liquor for the boys, and delicious drinks for the girls. He made me a special drink after asking what I like made of fresh berries, citrus and mint. Soooooo good! My friend started ordering it too after tasting mine. Kevin, the assistant manager, kept coming over to check in with us and see how we were doing. A true star! Finally our fantastic server, Martin, was attentive, funny and on the ball. He gave wonderful recommendations and made us laugh the night away. For food I highly recommend the octopus appetizer. The lobster paella was good but I wouldn't come back for it. I would come back for the service though and try something else. Thanks Manny, Martin and Kevin for a wonderful night! And the fireworks at 9pm were absolutely worth having a late dinner.
Incredible experience, this place was a surprise for my birthday, and we liked it so much we took our friends for their birthday as well. The view is everything, service is impeccable and friendly, the manager even made the evening something truly special. And the food was everything I imagined. The wine we tried, the first time, became our top favorite, and their desserts are just unforgettable. One of my favorite spots in LA hands down.
Where do I begin? First, Kevin is a master of his craft and explains the menu with flavor and sauce. Kevin’s recommendations were on point. We ordered 6 items to share with a group of 4 and the top 3 were The seared octopus, followed by the Duck Bomba, then last but not least the Strip Loin. Wow, you can’t miss with these. The octopus is next level! Trust me when I say this is a must order. You will not regret one bite. Drinks were great amazing old fashioned with all the right notes! Thank you Kevin! You’ve made this experience greater than this review! Cheers! We will be back!
A rare find in such a close vicinity to Disneyland. They got it all; food, service, and atmosphere, more importantly, all perfectly on point. Netzer, the manager, is one of those unique, hands on managers. Brisa our server, both nights, is just phenomenal beyond words. For me the Cuisine was different, out of my comfort level at first. However, Brisa has the patience and knowledge to explain the menu with staying upbeat and kind when the restaurant got slammed. Everything was great. 🥰
Wow! What a great experience. From the view, to the food, our server Sahar, and everything in-between, we were very happy with our dinner. We had an 8pm reservation for Top of The V during our recent trip to Disneyland to celebrate a birthday. We were also staying at the fabulous hotel, The Viv, where the restaurant is located. We were promptly greeted by the host/manager upon arrival to the 12th floor and our table was ready for us to be sat right away. The ambiance was absolutely perfect! We were greeted by the server assistant once sat and offered tap, bottled, or sparkling water. Our server Sahar greeted us shortly after and took our drink + small plate order. While we were waiting for our drinks we enjoyed looking out the large windows that face the entire Disneyland resort. Several of us had the Bubbles and Berries cocktail - sweet with a hint of lime and plenty of vodka. Very nice cocktail! I am embarrassed to list all of the items we ordered off the menu, so I will just point out some of our favorites. The PAN CRISTAL with tomate, PULPO A LA PLANCHA, CARRILLERA, and ARROZ BOMBA DE SETAS Y PRESA IBÉRICA were all must try items. Wow, so good! We enjoyed everything immensely. The only constructive feedback would be that the wait time it took for the bartender to make our drinks was way too long. We probably would have had another cocktail or two if we received them a little faster... But the bar was slammed so we were understanding. I highly recommend checking out Top of The V for locals and tourists alike. I look forward to returning!
Open table said they were full so I went and spoke to the Hostess, it was my wife’s birthday so she managed to squeeze us in and got us a window side table so we could watch the Disney fireworks. They even brought out a cheesecake with candle and a birthday card which was a nice touch. We opted for a few appetisers instead of meals so we could try a bit of everything, was plenty for the pair of us and the food was delicious would highly recommend the charred octopus.
My wife and I came here for Valentine’s Day Dinner. The restaurant was elegantly and romantically decorated. Scallops were delicious, I have never tasted anything like this. The Ribeye cooked to perfection and Duck was tender and juicy. Chef is always on point with all of his creations. Robert is hospitable, cheerful, always smiling and happy. You can tell that he knows how to lead his team. Highly recommend you checking it out!
Holy! If you get the chance to go to an event here... do it. Everything here is top-notch, food, service, drinks, and the location. We were served thick cut roast beef, seafood and artichoke paella, local and non-local crafted beers. About 4 different appetizers to start the night, and it was all excellent. The staff was polite, and attentive, and the event was well run. Overall, a very fun night I will remember warmly.
Eclectic and stunning vibes at the rooftop, romantic ambiance with the fireplace, delicious cocktails, and immaculate views of Disneyland! Truly a gem & Instagram worthy. I wish they would still open late past midnight on the weekends, because this spot is amazing. Perfect for a date night, hanging out with special friends, and lounging, especially for young crowds like us.
I had the best steak I have ever eaten, and I have had steak cook by Ramsey himself. My server was Danny and he is the bomb’s bomb. The fireworks start at 9. I initially ordered the lamb but I felt the flavor was lacking. It was the first time I had it, so I know not if that’s how it is traditionally prepared. It was very soft and tender, magnificently so. Danny asked how it was and I told him my thoughts on the lamb. Someone at my table recommended the steak, so I ordered it medium rare. The first bite was rather salty but every forkful after that was wonderful. I should have found out who the cook is so I can come back when they are working. Yes the prices are up there, but I would pay $54 for that steak for the level of flavor that I experienced. Through a new through, the salt, butter and other seasonings were there. 11/10, would recommend. We also ordered some wine. Wine. Pares Balta on the left, $25 per bottles . Moet Chandon on the right, $150 per bottle. They tasted the same to me, but I am not a wine taster. We spend $660 for a party of 6 adults.
Really good dining experience at this restaurant. Food was outstanding prawn dish was perfect octopus app could of ate two no doubt. Tried the Entraña which was really good as well. Definitely book your reservation for outdoors for a perfect date night. Will be back soon. Oh yea we had both desserts save room for those it won’t disappoint you. Thank you to the whole team.
This place is amazing! By far the best view in OC, specially that you have the Disneyland resort view. This, rooftop Bar 12 stories high with a pretty cool vibe and ambiance. The experience was awesome, the food & drinks were well made, and the staff was great and attentive. Will definitely come back again and reccomend this place to my friends.
First timer here, Shout out to Trevor V, Asst. Director of Food and Beverage. I applaud him for the success he contributes to this place. It is hospitality leaders like him that define the success of service, name, and relation with guests. What a remarkable spot and amazing experience! I'll be back.
The view is amazing! The food is one of a kind. I had the octopus and the duck liver with a glass of COTE DE RHONE, finished with cheese cake, Delicious! I saw it... I thought about it... and I imagined it... then I experienced it! It was beyond my expectations. The staff really makes it memorable. Everyone was very attentive and had a very classy demeanor 👌🏼 so my style. The assistant restaurant manager, Martin Q. expressed his excitement to be working at Blu Sky and that delivering great hospitality was the goal. Well mission complete cuz they made me feel like family and now I’m getting homesick. I’ll be turning very soon! Next week! Maybe this Friday 🤔 don’t forget to make your reservations it’s so easy.
We ordered almost everything on the menu and every single dish delivered as promised. The front end staff and our server Pedro were all attentive, accommodating, and a pleasure. Do not skip the Ibérico pork chop.
The place is beautiful. Food and drinks delicious. Staff attentive and friendly. Our server Brandon C was so helpful with the menu and very gracious. Also the Manager Whitney was very kind. Also was able to see the Disneyland fireworks. Great night overall.
I had such a great time! The staff is amazing and so helpful. It was my husband and my first time here to celebrate our anniversary. They took great care of us and helped us with menu options. The view is amazing and very intimate. Thank you so much for the experience. We can't wait to go back!
I wish I know this place earlier! What an elegant restaurant with great spanish dishes. I'm maniac about paella lately, and I'll give my thumbs up to this place :) Right after the chef recognized that my husband is an argentinean, he made us chimmichurri too, which is so thoughful and kind. I recommend the paella, pork steak, croquette, and basque cheesecake :)
You can’t beat this view in the Anaheim Resort area…but what’s more? The food and drinks are absolutely phenomenal. This is definitely not one of those places that relies on just its view. Their chef is fantastic at what he does and every last one of the tapas that we got were amazing. A favorite of the night for me was the pork croquetas. There’s something out of this world about their patatas bravas that I can’t quite place, but it’s downright delectable. They also do an incredible apple flavored mule cocktail. Easily on par with some of the best cocktails available at the actual resort. If you’re looking for an incredible night out in Anaheim, this place is where to be! It just opened and reservations can go fairly fast, but the two managers were so on point making sure everyone was well taken care of. Stellar food, drinks, views, and service all around. Well worth it, and not to be missed.
This is a rooftop restaurant located in the Viv hotel (I reviewed them separately). A very impressive and authentic Spanish restaurant. I met the manager (Robert) to get a reservation for a colleague and I. He is a true professional, knowledgeable, and has a great personality. I arrived early for a drink at the bar while I waited for my colleague to arrive. The bartender (Kevin) pleasantly greeted me and actually took care of us after we sat at a table that Robert had already reserved for us by the window. We chose to order a bunch of small plates as is the norm in Spain. The food is as authentic as it gets. The Jamon Iberico was the real deal and sliced the correct way, which takes years of experience. We were also comped two glasses of Temperanillo wine and a taste of 5 different Sherris after dinner. When it comes to Spanish food, this restaurant is on par with any of Jose Andreas's restaurants, including Jaleo in Las Vegas. A must visit when in Orange County.
Loved everything from the food, to the drinks, to the service. Asked the bartender to make me something with berries and rum and he nailed it! (Sorry, no photo!) And then I tried many fish appetizers that made my stomach very happy! Thanks to everyone there for being so awesome.
This was my first time staying at this fine hotel and it definitely won’t be my last! After finding this bar restaurant and jacuzzi I knew my Disneyland trip would be well worth it. The incredible bartender Manny was there every night I dined in and his drinks were delicious every single time. I fancied the spicy margarita the most and my sister in law ordered a Paloma that was very tasty. We both raved about him and his fancy drinks all night… seriously we have traveled many many times and have never had drinks that meet the quality of these. We joked he must be famous or come from greatly trained professionals because WOW! On top of that the beers and water were always ice cold. The atmosphere, the view, and the experience was most definitely one to remember. Thank you Manny and team for accommodating us and helping create the most special memories for us.
Amamos el lugar & sobre todo: El servicio. Gracias!
Top of the V was an excellent choice. I usually stick to my monthly dinner spots in LA County, but I’m so glad I stepped out of my norm. The location is perfect, conveniently located near the racing/flight simulator (which was also fantastic). The Spanish-style cuisine was amazing, and the staff was incredibly professional and welcoming. I highly recommend this place!
Service and servers were impeccable. They let me sample a few beers on tap before I decided what I wanted. We ordered the Paella which turned out to be a little salty and heavier on the seafood flavor. The temperature was a bit colder than usual and the lights were brighter. Keep temp at 70-72F and dim lights down by another 20% so you can achieve a great high-end restaurant ambience. Disney fireworks were great but a $20 reservation to watch it was a little on the higher side.
I had the pleasure of dining at 'Top of the V,' the rooftop restaurant located on top of the VIV Hotel in Anaheim, and it was an absolutely enchanting experience. The atmosphere is incredibly inviting, and the views are spectacular, especially during the night when you can see the Disneyland fireworks—it's truly magical. The Spanish cuisine here is a delight, particularly the rack of lambs which was succulent and perfectly seasoned. Each dish was a testament to the chef's expertise and attention to flavor. The service was attentive and added to the overall excellent experience. If you're looking for a dinner spot that offers great food and an unbeatable view of Disneyland's fireworks, 'Top of the V' should definitely be on your list. Highly recommended!
Cool location with great views of Disneyland fireworks. The restaurant sits at the top of a family-friendly hotel. The food is good, not great, and the 'Spanish' dishes are just okay. The vast majority of the people seemed to be there for drinks and the view. I'd go back for drinks and an appetizer.
Overall experience was good. The views were nice and can catch the Disney fireworks from your table. The staff and managers were a lot of fun to chat with and we had a really enjoyable time. The Octopus was my favorite dish of what we got.
We came here for a girls night out and the hotel was beautiful! We parked in a parking structure (front desk validated our ticket upon exiting). When we got inside we were escorted to the elevator and told to go to the 12th floor. The decor was classy and elegant and the view was amazing. The hostess sat us by the window, offered us some water. We were told to scan the QR code for the menu but we opted for physical menus instead. The menu was in Spanish which was fine. Everything was sold a la carte (meals did not come with sides or bread). We sat drinking sparkling water and chit chatting for probably 20 mins before someone said they'll be back to take our orders, which did not happen. We waited another 20 mins. Eventually, we flagged down a waiter to order. We ordered Sangria (Red), a seafood platter with shrimp, lobster, rice and the duck (a la carte). The food was delicious and the waiter was great! I am leaving 4 stars because of the wait and the fact that we had to ask to be served. Other than that, it was a pleasant experience.
My mom wanted to take me and my husband out for a nice dinner, and wow was this a great pick! The drinks and food were both sublime. Now, you will pay for that quality - it’s not cheap. But it’s worth it! Plus, if you time your reservation correctly, you’ll get a pretty spectacular view of the Disneyland fireworks. ⚠️ Staff requests that guests remain seated during the fireworks so that everyone can see. Guests being guests as they are, that request went unheard and unenforced, resulting in our view being hindered.
El es lindo tiene buena vista solo que la área de balcón falta calentón, la comida en su punto las bebida un sin sabor. El personal muy atento es el lugar para charlar y pasar un rato agradable .
It’s such a cute and elegant place on the roof top with nice cocktails and food. My company had a mid sized gathering during happy hours. I got there 5 minutes early and sat by a table until my colleagues arrived at the reservation time. Some guy comes over and tells me to sit at the bar instead of the table. Those tables didn’t nearly gerbil for another hour. That was totally unnecessary and rude.
Great sunset views in a modern Spanish restaurant. We were seated in a small private room, a bit on the warm side though. Service was professional and friendly. Food is OK, enjoyed some, but nothing was memorable. Two best dishes were the artichoke bombas (a paella of sorts) and the croquettes. The bone-in rib eye was good. Limited dessert. If you are celebrating a birthday, consider bringing a cake. On our evening there were only two dessert options.
Came here to celebrate a birthday and honestly I guess the main appeal of the place is just the skyline and if you book at the right time the chance to see the disneyland fireworks. To sum up the food, I would say it was definitely an interesting experience. Something to try once maybe, but not necessarily crave. I've seen youtube videos where they talked about the background of Jamon Iberico and saw they had it so tried the cheapest cut that had and meh, tried it done that. Price wise yeah I don't understand the overblown price points on the food. The cooks on the cuttlefish and the cod were interesting because I can't tell if maybe it's a taste palate thing but I felt the just tempered to almost considered cook so that the seafood was tender but I couldn't tell if it was undercooked or not which made it feel insecure about the raw food warning on the menu. Maybe it's a personal preference thing who knows. I mean I've had sushi, I've had cooked seafood, but it was interesting to say the least about just cooked seafood. I would say the redeeming dish was the duck and the long awaited seafood paella which took about an hr+ to get to the table so we were pretty much done with most of the food and had a long long pause before the paella arrived. Long enough to keep shifting in a seat so tall and a table so short that it was like a lesson in proper seating etiquette where you could only sit up right with no room under the table to shift ones legs or rest an elbow on the table without slouching. Couldn't even lean back on the chair since the back was so far and low. Can honestly say at the end of the night, this is one of the places where I can say I've tried, but food taste better elsewhere.
We did the Father’s Day Brunch. It seemed as though they were very understaffed, especially for a holiday special event. The food was great for a buffet and the location is spectacular. I may be picky because I’ve worked F&B, but it shouldn’t take 2+ requests for things like topping off coffee and getting some butter. We will probably give it another try to watch the fireworks from Disneyland. The view is pretty fantastic.
It's a beautiful place! Shame the food is not that great and the price is too high and the quality is not good! The meat platter was very disappointing 😞 and the paella 🥘 was the worst I ever eaten! They should never call it paella, it's offensive for paella lovers! I don't plan to ever go back there again! I prefer quality and tasty food and the Top of the V is not offering either!
I was looking for something new, but I'm not sure I found new. I made the reservation at 5:30 on Valentine's Day so my wife and I could see the sunset over Disneyland. That part definitely did not disappoint. I thought it was pretty and it scored some points with my wife. Unfortunately, not sure if this was in the small print and I missed it, or they never said anything, but the Valentine's Day menu was a fixed 5 course menu. I was not expecting that and was honestly pretty disappointed when my server showed me the menu. We had a choice between beef Wellington and lobster Mac, which wasn't exactly what I was craving. We had two cheese dishes, a beet salad, beef Wellington, and a chocolate moose for dessert for $130. Really, I was looking forward to Spanish food since it is supposedly a Spanish restaurant and nothing about that night seemed Spanish to me except the wine. To top it off, I didn't even feel like we were in the dining room. It almost felt like they had placed 4 or 5 tables in the entry way to make more room for Valentine's reservations. We were butted up to the kitchen, so while I had a nice view, it came with conversations of the staff. What made this seem really unacceptable to me was that I paid for a window table, but I'm not sure I got what I paid for. It wasn't a bad place and the food was ok, but I will not be going back.
**To get here from the first floor you take the elevator to the roof. Take your parking ticket with you to get it validated at the host stand.** I ordered my salad without dressing but unfortunately I got dressing on it. The waitress offered to replace it, but I declined, blaming the cook for not paying attention. The waitress wrote down I wanted no dressing without a problem so I don’t understand why the cook couldn’t get it together and not put dressing on my salad. The cook should pay attention. I’m not surprised that this restaurant has so many negative reviews. My date had a $5 alcohol surcharge, which, him being a bartender, surprised him. The overpriced food with its order accuracy issues were a disappointment. I rarely give reviews with less than 5 stars, but this restaurant deserved a lower star review due to them giving me dressing on my salad when I specifically said no dressing and for charging a $5 alcohol surcharge. On a positive note, the rooftop view for the 9:30 PM Disneyland fireworks was enjoyable, especially for those who don’t live near Disneyland. I live five minutes away so I see and hear them at 9:30 PM every night, but the view is obstructed by buildings. If you come here I recommend an 8 or 9 PM reservation and sitting outside to see the fireworks.
Great location, roof top. Tapas are the best. Cocktails are good, they need more variety for libations. Also 2nd group of people arriving when the restaurant opened. Outside area has little to no shade, and couldn't offer a different table for 2 in shade. Additionally, waiters and servers not on yet nor available?! As for the food, do not get the pan con tomate it's a smushed tomato with oil no other seasoning very bland, and bread is a pita. Patas bravas are good, artichokes were good along with the squash and ham croquettes. Ambiance looked nice. Service was off. If you really want Spanish tapas go to Vaca.
We booked our anniversary dinner at Top of the V and requested the outdoor patio. Upon arrival, we learned that a private party made the patio unavailable and were happily seated in the dining room. We mentioned to our server, who was wonderful, that we had hoped to sit outside and asked if we could perhaps, take our dessert on the patio. The server suggested that indeed, the outside bar was available - if we could find a seat - we could have our anniversary dessert at the bar. We were very happy with this suggestion. At the end of our meal, and after we had paid but before we had our dessert, we ventured outside to the bar. Unfortunately, the outside bar only had single seats available. As such, we went back to our table to have our dessert. We sat back down and waited to get our server's attention. I will note that at this time, there were many unoccupied tables throughout the restaurant - including several empty higher-top tables and many empty window-side tables. There were no patrons waiting at the host stand. The reason I noted these facts is because as soon as we returned to our table, a woman with longer, dark hair in a suit jacket was staring at us speaking with another female at the host stand. In my opinion, she was glaring at us - and I felt uncomfortable. I said something to my partner and we scanned the restaurant for our server. The woman with the longer hair came to our table and loudly announced that we had exceeded our time at the table and had to leave. We were confused - and we said OK, we were looking for a place at the bar but it was full. She again, said in her full voice that we can't sit at the table and need to leave. We said we were still waiting to finish our dessert and had tried to find a space at the patio bar but it was full and the patio was not available. She confirmed that the patio was not available and she needed us to leave the table. We said we were waiting for dessert and I said we could move to the interior bar to have our dessert. I don't think she heard what we were saying and it was... embarrassing. If I were an observer, I would think we were getting kicked out. We said, OK, OK - we will leave and just then, our server walked up and explained that we were still eating. Only then did the woman understand that we had not finished our meal. She then said curtly that we "could stay while we were still eating." (My partner and I looked at one another confused - of course we can stay while we are still eating...? Did she want to force us to take our dessert to go?) Our server brought our anniversary dessert and we ate it quickly as the woman with the long hair had said we only had a few more minutes to be within our allotted time at the table. We wolfed down the dessert and left. The woman who told us our time was up never apologized despite her lack of understanding. We were humiliated in front of the entire dining room and left mortified. I will note that there were several tables around us that were seated either contemporaneously or before us - and were still present when we departed. I understand that Top of the V has a premium view and as such, their needs are unique. I understand that some establishments must have time limits. We did not see any time limits on their website and were not informed of any time limits when we arrived so we were completely taken off-guard. I am certain, that whatever the restaurant's needs were, it could have been handled discreetly, politely and with grace. Before posting this review, I sent them a letter and received no response. We spent a lot of money to be humiliated, hopefully, you will not.
This place was good. It was a little outside the norm for our food tastes, but it was nice to taste some new things. I did feel like it was a bit over priced… but the view and experience was worth it. I would recommend if you are looking for something different than your usual steak house adventure.
Interesting to say the least… it was overpriced for our experience. The space was nice. We dined outside and had a view of the fireworks. It was an ease to book reservations online last minute on a Friday. Food was decent… it would have been better if it wasn’t cold. The service left a lot to be desired. Our waitress wasn’t good unfortunately. She made several mistakes throughout the night. Couldn’t remember all of our drink orders, brought food out that was incomplete and it got cold, gave a butter knife to cut the steak. These were just a few of the highlights lol. We ordered a few items off the menu. Lobster paella: super flavorful but also very salty. Also a tad too burnt for my liking. Foie gras: liked the flavor. It had a sweet taste to it. Would have been excellent if it wasn’t cold and we didn’t have to wait for our bread… looking forward to the churros but unfortunately they didn’t have them this night. Brussels sprouts: not impressed. Not a fan of boiled Or soggy Brussels sprouts! Reminded me of what our parents would force us to eat when we were little. Overall… too expensive considering the quality and service.
If it wasn’t for the view, I’d be complaining to the manager and demanding a refund. I got the paella which is a classic Spanish dish. The saffron rice was so over cooked, the rice was almost bitter tasting as if too much saffron or the use of a cheaper turmeric yellow flavor. The west coast spiny lobster tail was so tasteless and overcooked. This was $60 when I went, which was close to when they first opened this place. The service staff was just not trained well. I hope they are doing better today!
Had a reservation booked. When we arrived the staff just kept walking past us standing there at check in. The host finally acknowledged us and took us to our table 20 minuets later. Even the chefs were looking around awkwardly to try and get someone’s attention to help us. It took 35 minuets to get a drink which was strange as it was not very busy. The service is terrible here and definitely let’s this venue down. The server kept disappearing for long periods of time, forgot a drink, took my card for 15 minuets when we got the check. The food was tasty but overpriced. I would have gave 1 star but the view and the fireworks help to salvage the night. Hopefully they can figure out the service issues and treat customers better.
October 19 2022. Was our first time going to the top of the v. I choose this place for 2 reasons. One, very impressive reviews on this place & two because I enjoy trying out new places. I took my wife there to celebrate our anniversary and the service was not to expectations. It was all good at the beginning until I ordered my 2nd drink. Keep in mind It was just a beer & they were not busy for a Wednesday night. I waited over 15 20 minutes before i decided to go to the bar & get it myself. I then ordered another beer when I finished the last one & it took 25 minutes before I said anything AGAIN. But by then I was frustrated & ready to leave. Then we were told that they were going to complement us for celebrating our anniversary with some truffles for desert & they never even brought them to us. Honestly. I would save my money & go elsewhere. Service not satisfactory and food portions are unbelievable small .. 😒 😠 😡 😤
Called ahead and completed a reservation. I explained it was a special birthday occasion. We asked about rooftop dining, and they said yes, they have it. When we get there, it took a while for us to be acknowledged. When we were, we were told there was no heat set up outside so we chose to eat inside. Mind you the only reason for coming was for that experience. But it was already getting late, so we stayed. The server we had asked what we wanted to order and reminded us last call was coming up soon although we made a reservation and arrived on time, we were being rushed. But we ordered. Drinks on the menu are not accurately listed ( we asked for a specific beer that was on the menu, the server said, we don't carry any bottles of beer) Food is not composed, and is very expensive. You're left feeling, I paid that much for this?? Our drinks were empty for a long time, had to hunt our server even though it wasn't busy. The server almost had a snooty demeanor. And not one mention of my accommodation for my birthday request. When we left we were stuck at the gate because they tried to charge for parking, which was never mentioned. A park attendant came out to fix it, but once again, had an attitude about it. We went back to our hotel feeling unwelcome, hungry and disappointed from our experience.
Amazing view, good food... And they know it! Rude to other customers. Rude to our party. We were there dressed appropriately for dinner, so at least we got served. Witnessed other parties who couldn't get drinks or appetizers at the bar. Weird mix of upscale diners and hotel guests who have just returned for the day may contribute to the problem.
Had dinner at the rooftop, and we left the place hungry, small pork chop, and for what we ordered, 145$ dang it's pricey. The paella our friend tried was burnt from the bottom, wasn't that good. Has a great views and a chill place, and service was great. but I just wish plates were bigger and more filling for the price tag. we shouldn't have left the place hungry.
Me and my wife were really excited to try this place as we live down the street and they have an amazing view of the Disney fireworks. The view was great (even though I had to argue for a window table despite having a reservation and there were two available tables) the drinks were great and our waiter bent over backwards for us but the manager John Tran was so extremely rude to me and my wife I'm trying not to get into detail about it but he made us feel so unwelcomed, and like we were not good enough for this place. I can honestly say it ruined the experience. Our waiter was kind enough to comp a round of our drinks after hearing how we felt and gave us the director's business card to make a formal complaint. The director has yet to answer our email.
Service was really good and our waitress was extremely helpful but the food was not was I expected ):! I got the land and sea and it was extremely salty and had a strong seafood taste (not in a good way) my boyfriend got the steak and it was good but very chewy and rice stuck to the pan like crazy. We got the potatoes as an app and it was extremely plain but the sauce helped. View was nice and atmosphere was a vibe just wish the food tasted better especially for the price
We recently visited Top of the V for a birthday dinner with a group of 10 people, expecting a special evening with great views and food. Unfortunately, the experience was marred by the extremely rude and unprofessional behavior of our server. From the moment we arrived, the server made it clear that they were not interested in providing good service. They were dismissive, impatient, and seemed annoyed every time we asked a question or made a request. For a restaurant that markets itself as upscale, we were shocked by how poorly we were treated. It really put a damper on what should have been a celebration. The food and ambiance were decent, but the lack of basic courtesy from our server left us all with a bad taste in our mouths. We had high expectations, but sadly, we won’t be returning or recommending this place to others.
Food was nice, place was nice but the service was awful ! Our server was angry, she was easily annoyed!! She would get order from one of us and then leave and come back after 20 minutes to get order from others in our group ! We had a birthday and she actually brought the cake to our table with the box ! When we asked if she could take the cake out of the box and light the candle , she said she will have to charge us !! Charge to take the cake out of the box !!!!! And then we asked if we could have a lighter to light the candle , she brought us a lighter and before giving it to me she made sure that i promise her i would give it back ! Like i was gonna run with it ! One of us broke a glass, she saw it ! She didn't care to even come clean the broken glass from under my feet ! I had to sit there with broken glass everywhere and i was afraid to move because I didn't want to cut my self !!!
Well, I should have gone somewhere else when I saw the 3.9 stars. The atmosphere is outstanding, the food, not so much. I was excited when I saw the imberco pork chops. How did they manage to get imberco pork without a drop of flavor. Simply put, the food here is not good. It lacks depth of flavor. It's just food, high-priced, high up food. It's also beautiful, but tasteless. This was not $160 worth of food.
The food is good and the views are good, but... Outdoor seating is very uncomfortable (like a pool vibe, which is near by, with extra low tables and chairs). I had received a call the day before our reservation and they reiterated late policy and table time etc. As well as stating that during fireworks to stay seated as to not interfere in others' views. Yet when fireworks started it was a cluster with people all around and in front of our previously slightly secluded table. Employees did nothing to quell the slight chaos. Not to mention with the aforementioned low seating you are now eating with the crowds butts at face height. Overall the experience left a lot to be desired, especially at the price point. I could possibly see coming back for a drink at the bar or something, but I don't see doing dinner here again.
Came here for an event and was extremely disappointed in the food. Everything was so bland, I couldn't even take more than a couple bites before giving up. How do you mess up braised short ribs?! Undersalted, zero flavor, zero complexity. Even the bites with sauce on them barely tasted like anything. And the veggie paella had the most unpleasant random assortment of vegetables. Mushrooms were rubbery, there was something I honestly couldn't identify- either okra or baby zucchini but either way zero flavor. It tasted burnt rather than charred and actually I was thankful for that because without that burnt flavor it wouldn't have tasted like anything at all. The truffle mac and cheese pasta was also extremely bland. The flavors were not balanced at all, it didn't taste like cheese OR like truffle, and the pasta was overdone and too soft. For dessert there was basque cheesecake which was the only thing I liked even slightly but it could have been a little less sweet. It tasted just as sweet as normal cheesecake but with less cream cheese flavor somehow? At times it tasted like I had a mouthful of whipped cream or even butter. Basque cheesecake should be delicate enough for the caramelization to come through the flavors, this one didn't have that at all and the top stuck together in a skin that reminded me a little too much of when you burn eggs in a pan and it leaves a scrim of egg on the bottom. The drinks weren't great, either, the house cocktails tasted like something you'd throw together in a pinch with whatever is sitting around the kitchen. And weak, to boot. The vibe was fine, it's pretty up there and the fires outside are nice but it felt just like every other contemporary, modern-leaning restaurant décor and with the underwhelming food I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I want to believe it was just an off night but every single dish was consistently bad.
I have been staying at the Viv hotel as a solo business guest. The Top of the V is closed Monday and Tuesday so I decided to go upstairs for a bite and a drink on Wednesday. It was before 5pm and the place was empty. The tall hostess tells me she will have to see if she can possibly find a seat for me because I did not have reservations. I am 1 person. How long would it take me to get a bite to eat with pleasant service? She walks me outside to the 1 and only 1 table where she has 3 separate parties sitting at a communal table. EVERY other seat and table was EMPTY. I sat and ordered the octopus and a drink anyway. The octopus tasted delicious. The drink never came. I was done eating the octopus when I was told they were out of lavender and could not make my drink. I paid for the octopus, left and had dinner/drinks elsewhere. About 7pm [prime dinner time] I returned. The restaurant was still mostly empty with only a couple of tables filled inside and outside. MORE THAN HALF of the restaurant was still empty. Where was that hostess I'd like to know. I am a regular with Marriott and that was completely poor, unwelcoming service. Ruined my entire experience. I will not return.
Food is NOT GOOD at all. It was actually awful for the price. The service was awful. Took 15 to 20 min to get my drink, was not made well. Another 10 min to just get a diet coke, flat. Paid $120 for a bone-in Ribeye, came out already cut in thin slices, tasted dry and cold, near raw...asked for medium well. Atmosphere was good. NOT GOING BACK for sure. Good luck.
Our initial impression of this establishment, located near Disneyland, sparked anticipation for a memorable experience. However, our visit left us greatly disappointed. Regrettably, we cannot recommend this venue to others. We advise patrons to save their money and seek alternative options. The customer service was subpar, with infrequent table check-ins that felt rushed when they did occur. Despite positive reviews, our experience fell short of expectations. The manager on duty did not provide assistance when needed, and his demeanor was unprofessional, including rolling his eyes as we departed. We believe individuals should not be in customer-facing roles when unable to maintain a professional demeanor. In conclusion, our visit was unsatisfactory, and we regret not receiving the level of service we anticipated. We hope for a full refund but are apprehensive about future visits based on this experience.
Did a reservation 1 month prior to the date for outside sitting. Just to get a call the day before that there's a private event and they have to cancel my reservation. There went all the planning that I had done for that day. Now running around trying to find a new place. Thanks for nothing
We came for a department dinner, we will start with the positive amazing views and was able to accommodate our group. Now the downside the waiter was not attentive to our request, after a long day of work we were ready to order however the waiter wanted to spend 15 minute explaining the menu and the concept. Listen to your customer when we say were ready to order were ready we do not need a lesson on your restaurant. second when we order a glass of red wine and you do a lite pour and when we ask why such a light pour, do not say you do not want to open another bottle. Third we order the paella with lobster, the lobster should not be chewy, fourth we order the steak rare it came out medium well and almost unedible. We spent close to 1200 dollar for our outing and we will not be back, unfortunately since we did fall in love with the views.
I found the staff to he very rude. If you're going to charge me $12 for a single beer then don't talk to us like we're passengers at a dank bus station. Maybe instead move the empty wayward furniture blocking the path instead of pushing guests away from enjoying the skyline you advertised as a perk.
Decor and view was amazing and that’s where it ended. Hostess checked us in for our reservation, didn’t make eye contact the whole time and continued to tap away on her tablet for a solid 3 minutes. When she sat us at the table she said we could only sit there for an hour and a half because the restaurant was really busy that night. The restaurant was half full at the time and completely (over)staffed. We ordered seafood and vegetarian fare and it was all under seasoned. The best part of the meal was the walnut bread served with the cheese plate. After our meal, we sat at the table for 15 minutes before we got the check. Service was mediocre at best and for what we paid for the food, this was a hard pass for me in the future.
The restaurant crew were friendly enough, but unorganized thus resulting in substandard service. The food was a joke, it looked as if it had already been eaten! The ambiance and the view were nice and the Disneyland Fire works NOT so spectacular, I think Disney is cutting back to make up for their loss during the pandemic!
Was really wanting to love this place! I still feel it has a lot of potential but they missed the mark this night. Went in last Friday 7/16/21. It was for my boyfriends birthday. Made reservations & asked Hostess both times (on the phone & in person) if we can get a dessert and happy birthday sung for him as he is the one who resides in Anaheim and had been wanting to try this place out. I thought it would've been the perfect birthday dinner. Well we started the night with drinks and appetizers. Grabbed the octopus and it was delicious. The drinks were good too. For the main course I ordered the Lobster Paella which is what was recommended. He had the steak with potatoes on the side. This was really disappointing... my lobster was so over cooked I had 2 bites. It was so rubbery and dry. This seems to be the star of the show, as this is Spanish cuisine and Paella is the most typical dish to order. Lobster was overcooked terribly. I couldn't even to have another bite- and unfortunately for me it took 2 people for me to connect with the 3rd person whom let me know they would replace my plate. It took about 10 minutes for me to get someone to talk to all while my boyfriend ate alone. By the time my food got there (ended up ordering a steak since the lobster was tainted) he had finished his meal and was on to a drink whilst I ate. They let us know meanwhile that it was last call soon. (our reservation was for 8:30) Had to get my food boxed up- and they never offered a dessert menu or even mentioned his birthday. ( good to mention that across from us a couple had celebrated a birthday with a dessert and candle from staff while we were ordering drinks) Anyway, steak was ok. Octopus was great and so were drinks. Our waiter was nice and apologetic but hey- for a few hundred for a dinner I was just hoping for some attention to client... the place waste even half full. **The views are great though and we did see firework show- so that was fun**
HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. I took my wife here for a special dinner. What was good: * The view. The indoor dining area is very nice as the windows are clear. Outside, the glass or plexiglass is not clear. What was disappointing...unfortunately, this is a longer list .* Our server was curt and non-existent. We were seated, and within a few minutes, she was back to ask what we wanted to order. Ready to order? She hadn't even asked us if we wanted something other than water to drink. Were we under a timeframe to get out within an hour? * Do you or your doctor like meals with a high salt content? I haven't noticed salt in a meal before, but this was salt-packed. I'm sure it isn't good for anyone's blood pressure. We mentioned it to the server, and her response was don't you know Mexican/Spanish food has a lot of salt. Does that mean cardiac-arrest level salt? The salt taste overtook the rice and seafood flavors. * Dinner came in a pan, which is fine. However, much of the rice burned to the side of the pan. Does salt make rice burn to the side of a pan? * Our dinners were $45 and $55, and there was no side dish, bread, or dessert. In summary, if you love lots of salt, spending a lot with no side item—bread and butter or chips and salsa—and a server who pushes your order to apparently get you out quickly, this is the spot for you. It will not be for us. There are many, many better places to dine in the surrounding area. Enjoy them!
Extremely disappointing experience. We came with friends expecting a high-end dinner and spent over $700 for six people—what we got was bland food, poor service, and zero value. I ordered the ribeye steak for $85, and it was one of the worst I’ve ever had. No sides included, everything is priced separately, which might be fine if the quality matched the cost. It didn’t. Service was practically nonexistent—our waiter showed up maybe every half hour. Food was dropped off without any explanation, and we had to guess whose dish was whose. For a place that markets itself as upscale, this felt more like a cafeteria with a view. I wouldn’t return to the restaurant or the hotel. Save your money and go somewhere that actually delivers on the fine dining promise
We made reservations and were told the only available seating was at 5:15 and on the patio. As it was a very nice day, we thought this would be okay, but boy were we wrong. First, we got into the elevator and press the button for the 12th floor (the restaurant floor) and were greeted with a message saying, "This is a restricted floor", so the elevator would not move. A guest then got in, put his key to the reader and pressed his floor, so we tried again to press floor 12. You got it; we were greeted with the great "This floor is restricted" message again. Rather than go to the guest floor, we piled out of the elevator before the doors closed on us. So off to the front desk I go to find out how to go to find out how to get the elevator to take us to the restaurant only to be greeted by 20 very angry people waiting to check in. I waited for one of the front desk people to free up and after 5 minutes was told only elevator #1 and #3 work to go to the restaurant and to find one of these. There was no signage or anything stating this anywhere, and the only staff I could find were the two people at the front desk! Once we found the right elevator and got to the 12thfloor, the hostess took us to our patio couch/seat. There were three of us and they sat us in a section of the couch with just two 16" round tables to hold our drinks and dinner. As there was no way this would work, we asked if there was a way to get another table for the third person, after checking, the waitress said they had other people coming at 6:00, so there were no available tables on the entire patio to give us. We thanked her and decided to make do and ordered some appetizers and drinks. Shortly after ordering we started to get very hot, I would even say bake, as there was no shade, no breeze as in front of us was a big glass window, and behind us a set of reflective windows. We asked about getting an umbrella, but they said they did not have any; they had heaters, but nothing to block the sun on a hot sunny day. It got so bad about halfway through our first round of drinks and appetizers (15 minutes), that I asked for the bill so we could leave before even finishing what we had and ordering dinner. The waitress told us she would see if there was seating inside, even though we were told more than once that they were booked and nothing inside was available, and to our total surprise, she found us a table inside! It was now 6:00 and not one other person came and sat in the area where they said they had reservations for and could not give us another table. Once seated inside in the AC, we noticed that only about half the tables inside were taken, only one person sitting at the bar that would seat 10 people, and it stayed this way until we left about an hour afterwards. It seemed like they put everybody outside and kept the inside tables open for the customers that were spending money on food and complained about being in the extreme heat on the patio. We talked to a few staff members that backed this up. They even said that the people working outside hated it, as people left early and left very small tips because of the conditions, hence the staff made very little money working the patio. Unhappy staff does not make for a pleasant atmosphere. If you are just two people and go later, as the sun is setting, the patio may be better, but again, you will have to eat off cramped 16" round metal tables. So do not plan on ordering more than one plate of food at a time. As for the food, it was good, and the price was you would expect when you are paying for the view, not the food. There is no valet parking, as that is for the hotel guest only, so you get to park in the parking structure and walk to the hotel.
We had reservations but planned to stop by just for drinks and wanted to sit outside to enjoy the view. We asked to be seated outdoors, but our server, Heather B., told us there was no availability, even though there appeared to be plenty of open seating. We closed our tab inside and went to the outdoor bar to order drinks. While waiting for a bartender, we were told we could sit outside but would need to go back inside to place our order due to short staffing. We followed the staff’s instructions and waited at the indoor bar. Unfortunately, the bartender then scolded us and told us we could not be served unless we were seated. This interaction was handled poorly; his raised voice was embarrassing and drew unnecessary attention. As we were preparing to leave, the staff member who had originally told us we could sit outside apologized and helped smooth things over, which we appreciated. The outdoor serving staff were polite and attentive, and they ultimately made the experience tolerable. However, the indoor staff’s lack of coordination and professionalism significantly detracted from our visit. Additional customer service training would be highly beneficial.
