L'Osteria Aosta Reviews
We went there Décembre 24th. Altough there was a misunderstanding, we got a table for six. Al courses where made from localy grown products and where delicious. Great meno of local wines.
Very pleasant experience, I definitely recommend it. Tagliatelle were crazy good 🙂
We had an excellent dinner with very fast, courteous and responsive service. Brasato with polenta and lamb were excellent. They tweaked the ravioli sauce for our children. We tried 4 different desserts and they were all top!
They squeezed me in between two reservations as I showed up spontaneously. The polenta with lard and fondue was great, so was the apple/cream desert. The local red wine was delicious too (usually I don't like red wine). Everybody was super nice and didn't make me feel rushed at all despite the limited availability of the table. Next time I would book and order several courses.
I have very mixed feelings about the place. One one hand very delicious secondi: rabbit with polenta and deer. Very good appetizer. And completely unedible bread. As a person that bakes bread, it was a huge disappointment and also I was ashamed that I was served it. We ordered a cheese course and as any other tourists would appreciate the explanations but none were given. Fortunately, I'm not a shy one, I have asked the other waiter and he explained. It's probably a very good place for locals. As a tourist, you should be more demanding. Overall, it was good but Aosta offers so many greater places.
Rightfully popular restaurant. Quick and courteous service. Dishes of good quality and presentation. Very pleasant interior. Reasonably priced. All in all a very pleasant experience.
Lovely food and service. Wine and beer were good. We sat outside, so plenty of people were watching. Lots on the menu to choose from. The only negative was that there seemed to be cheese in everything. I had a soup and some veg rolls to start, and the soup was beautiful. My husband had the pork fillet, presented beautifully, and tasted delicious.
Got a walk up table for 6 people at 7:30pm, the place was full by 8pm. Nice waiters with very good English. A medium menu with northern Italian options. I am giving 4 stars as everyone seemed to really enjoy their food. Unfortunately my vegetarian salad came with meat in, so i dont suggest it for vegetarians (i had 2 options)
Had cheese fondue, it was lukewarm, and had a very maizena like structure taste in the mouth. Like it was from “a package with cheese powder with water or milk added” instead of freshly made. It was also extremely fast - we ordered it and within 3min we got it served. Seems impossible for melted cheese fondue.
Don’t recommend the Cheesefondue, It was one of the worst I ever tasted… I had the impression that it was cheesepowder with milk. Service was fast and staff was kind.
Our lunch was actually not bad and the young waiters were helpful but the manager was agressive and a bully with the staff and an unfortunate customer.
Awful reception. We came at 13:10 (they close 14:30) and the waiter rejected us saying he will Not accept more clients. He was rude. What is the point of a place like this?
No value for money: small portions, low quality for a too high price. Typical restaurant to steal from tourists. I think there are way better restaurant if you stay in Aosta for vacation.
Initially, I thought I would give 5 stars since all looked and tasted very good, but after the hard evening and night I had with my boyfriend - we shared the fondue - I think it was bad since both of us had nausea and vomited after it. Please take care of your customers. LE: the only thing that we both ate, was the fondue from L'Osteria, so I think it is the best argument why we blame you for the illness.
My family and I were at this restaurant it was a terrible experience The owner was so rude We ordered the ravioli and it was disgusting we asked to return it, we barely touched the dish and they took it back to the kitchen. They still wanted us to pay for it. when my grandma got upset for paying for a dish we didn't touch they started to yell at us and ordered the police I felt like I was being attacked and it ruined my night if you’re a tourist, don’t come to this place
