Capital Seafood Arcadia Reviews
One of my go to restaurants for dim sum on weekends or for cantonese style dinner after work. Great and consistent quality.
I really like this place - food was excellent and service was fast. They don’t do carts here - you fill out a sheet and they’ll bring out your order. Parking lot is pretty big but shared with a bunch of other businesses. We got tripe, Shu Mai, spare ribs, chicken feet, shrimp balls and salted egg yolk custard buns (my personal favorite) - delish.
We were in Pasadena/Acadia area last Saturday (9/13/25) around lunch time, we knew a restaurant called Capital Restaurant and the google map led us to this place. It was not the restaurant in my mind but we were hungry. We waited for about 5 minutes and got a table for three. Most of the customers were there for dim sum but we were not. We did order several dim sum to start with and we ordered the French beef and a big lobster, same as we did a week ago in Newport Seafood Restaurant in Rowland Heights. The food in this restaurant was at least same or even better than what we got a week ago. Lobster market price was 29$/lb and ours was 4.5 lbs, this is slightly cheaper but the taste was really good, the only difference was the noodle portion from this restaurant was slightly less than the one we had before. I definitely recommend the big lobster dish to everyone who loves lobster.
Best Dim Sum!!!! My children and I have been coming here for years, and we absolutely love this restaurant. The staff is so attentive and kind and the food is absolutely delicious 😋 We've love trying new places, but when it comes to Dim Sum, no one beats Capital Seafood. Thank you, Mia, and the entire wonderful staff, you all make every visit a treat & we always leaving absolutely full and lazy, lol. Thank you! 💝
Absolutely delicious dim sum, efficient service. Great atmosphere, love it so much. The food was very tasty 😋
Great dimsum place! Instead of the typical dimsum carts going around, you order your dimsum items off a menu and give the order sheet to the server. No need to keep an eye out on when that specific dimsum cart is approaching your table! Very good system here. There are still servers that hold trays of dimsum items but mostly just dessert items. Friendly and attentive staff. Easy free parking lot. Reasonable prices. Nothing really to complain about here.
Randomly found this spot and was in the mood for dim sum, as usual. They had just opened when we arrived. We placed our order and were out within an hour. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the very good quality of the ingredients. Opt for a lunch special and a couple of dim sum items, and you're good to go. A. $5.28 B. $6.28 C. $7.28 D. $8.28 K. $9.28 Tea or condiments $1.95/person Dim Sum is served Mon-Fri 11am-3pm Sat-Sun 930am-3pm We got the… Turnip Cake Steamed Spare Rib Shiu Mai Baked Bbq Pork The majority of the items on the menu are either B or C for dim sum D and K are the main items… All the dishes were very good!
Pretty packed place! Came on a Saturday noontime and there was a line out the door! Thankfully my relatives came early and got us a spot inside already. We had two big tables. I was looking around for a waiter cause we really needed water (100 degrees today) and I asked a worker nearby. He was awesome and brought water over after he finished the task he was working on! The food was delish!! Parking is plenty and there is even a shaded parking structure. I did see some flies roaming around but those are inevitable.
This is a dimsum place without carts that they push around the restaurant. You order it from the menu. In 2017 they price were: category A $2.88, B $3.88 C $4.88, D $5.98, and K $6.98 Price is slightly higher than other dimsum places (especially in China town or Alhambra). However, the place is clean and neat. Plus you don't have to go through the crazy queuing like other traditional dim sum place, soo it's still worth it. Chicken feet is my favorite and I think they make a good one here. The Chinese egg custard is very delicious. Shumai, pork bun, potstickers, ... and many more I have tried. So far so good. Private rooms are available, The restroom is on the right side of the entrance upon entering the main door. Free parking on site. I will come back again for sure.
Pretty large restaurant with private rooms and outdoor seating. Typical Cantonese cuisine. The jelly fish was so so, lacked flavor. The fatty beef with bean sprouts was pretty good, thinly sliced, ok tenderness, not too fatty. The veg stir fry was average, some tough pieces. Portions are large. Ok CP!
First time to try this restaurant with our team. The food is great and tasty. The service has some room for improvement. My team and I went there for late lunch and they're still seem busy but there were empty table settings. We were seated separately and unwilling to move us closer together even after clearing another table or two, though, we haven't been served yet. It's a typical ethnic restaurant where they do not put much thought on how the restaurant looks as long they serve good food is what I observed. They could definitely hit it a notch on the areas of service and ambience for a more enjoyable and "feel good" dining experience. Overall, pleased with what we ate.
I really enjoyed the meal at Capital. The food was delicious, the service was attentive, and the overall atmosphere was excellent. That said, it is quite expensive. While the quality is definitely there, the high prices make it more of a "special occasion" spot than a regular hangout. It’s a great choice if you’re looking to splurge on a high-quality dinner, but be prepared for a hefty bill.
20241201 First time experience and with a group of 12.5 people, including my Chinese chef, for Sunday dim sum brunch, the food, service & atmosphere was really good. Definitely would come back and recommend. Clean bathrooms. Plenty of outdoor parking. High chairs available. One handicap parking spot in the front, saw 2 one-table private rooms and a separated banquet room from the main dining hall. Takes credit cards.
We haven’t eaten here for years, but decided to stop by for some fresh steamed fish while we were in the area. The fish was indeed fresh and prepared properly, though the weight that we’d paid for seemed to be less than the actual weight. Other dishes were good as well. A corkage fee of $25 was reasonable.
Service was what I made it, watch your hair as you talk over food, yes you was nice, but with a motive to rush guest out at end of your dim sum rush. I wasn’t there for dim sum. Too many menus was so confusing. No, I wasn't your traditional guest but you didn't make my visit the best. Thanks for the complimentary testers at in, but again watch your hair extensions toward the food. Greet all guest at entry to confirm take out or dine in. I waited so long I seated myself and that too was an issue. You then say we about to rush guest out that area. Please work on your customer service.
Big disappointment for frequent customers due to inferior Dim sum: we have been coming here for many years. For the past few years the quality of Dim sum has continuously gone down. Service is great but ... First their shrimp egg rolls kept getting smaller. Now there is no shrimp in the shrimp egg rolls, only a shrimp tasting paste. The real shrimp is gone. This is so sad. Then we tried their lunch special and it was just OK, no soup, no egg roll, nothing special. It is sad to see this place deteriorate like this.
Came here on a recco but it’s OK dim sum. Steamed BBQ pork bun was dry and hard. Shrimp Rice Noodle was decent. Salty Fish & Chicken Fried Rice was too salty. Need to dilute it w more rice and tea. Sesame Ball isn’t all sesame. Only one sesame, other 2 were egg yolk balls. But when you inquire they tell you it’s 3 kinds of “sesame” when you clearly see it’s not. But none of that is described in the menu. So they basically make stuff up to pass things through instead of saying they ran out. Tea is bitter from the start. Bathrooms - let’s just say it needs to be more hygienic and actually checked and cleaned. Would I recco to anyone? Will need to give this one a pass. PS. Don’t let the name fool you. There’s actually not much seafood here. At least for dim sum.
Food was good however the way staff treated us was not the best service they could provide. We ordered 8 dishes because we know we can finish it but the lady working there came and told us we are ordering too much and we don’t need to order that much. She was judging us by the way we looked and it seems like they were doubting us to finish the plates or maybe even be paying for the bill.We went in our comfy clothes with sweatpants and a shirt but they were judging us over that too. The overall staff treatment was the same and they were judging us from what we order. Not coming back here unless they make some changes to their service.
Worst service I have ever experienced. Asked what was vegan and the waiter told me, just look at the menu. I was shocked and told him to come over and explain what was vegan to me again and he still refused. My dad had to tell him to talk to me and when he came, he gave so much attitude and it felt like he was just saying yes that anything was vegan without actually knowing. A couple behind us started getting mad and frustrated at him because he didn’t know anything about the menu but wouldn’t go to the back to check. I feel like he was the manager too. Service is terrible, don’t come here. Food is mid and it’s not at all the restaurant it was in the past. If you have dietary restrictions or standards for hospitality, wouldn’t trust this place to be honest.
