Here's a solid dim sum spot in Arcadia! Coming around 10:00-10:30AM - the restaurant wasn't too busy and was easy to find seating. I do want to note that by the time we left around 12:30PM, the restaurant was at the usual dim sum waitlist line so do be warned! Parking was also pretty plentiful in the adjoining plaza. Capital Seafood has all of the dim sum staples from the pork to the shu mai along with some bigger items like a congee that we received. Tea was solid and got refilled pretty quickly. My favorites were the cheong fun, spare ribs, and egg tarts! (And to note, this dim sum spot is done via checklist - no carts here.) Best of all, the pricing is terrific. For four people, we were super full and spent about $95! Great vibes / good eats / totally would come back!

Went here for my nephews 100 day party. There was a wedding at the other half of the restaurant and we still received top tier service and the food quality and portion was great!

I want to eat everything this place makes, but I don’t have enough time. There are only a handful of dim sum places I’ve been to that can match this quality. Great waitstaff and the food came out fast, hot and delicious.

I am always hoping to grab DimSum when in the area and was pleased to see Capital Seafood was only steps away from my hotel. I cannot wait to return with my husband and colleagues. There were so many dishes I would love to try, however, I was one. I did enjoy Shrimp Dumpling w/Superior Stock & Shrimp Rice Noodle. Plus, I wanted to try the crispy chicken noodles, which were amazing. I have never been to DimSum alone and I did have a tough time ordering & deciding what to order. While I knew I ordered too much - it was too hard to resist. Portions are huge for 1, 2, and even groups. I'm surprised by the comments around small portion sizes. I had a good experience - even with the language differences. I look forward to returning & enjoying the full experience with others.

Excellent food and service. Would like to go more often for fresh fish but is expensive on fixed income. Other dishes also excellent and more reasonably priced. Will try dimsun soon. No change, just not as busy post pandemic, April 2022. Still no change Nov 28, 2022. Not to busy with dim sum at lunch time.

My favorite dim sum place now. The almond tea dessert is a must have every time we go.

Very high quality dim sum. Plenty of room, and the wait is never too long. Quick service (no carts). Clean, comfortable, feels quite high-end yet very traditional and authentic. Love coming here.

When I’m craving high-quality dim sum in a lovely restaurant fit for a wedding venue, I go to capital seafood. The management is friendly and professional, they always remember return customers, and they provide stellar service regardless. I’ve been going here for at least 10 years, and I’m so glad that they’re still there and apparently doing quite well. If you go for Sunday lunch, prepare to wait 30 minutes or more as their 50 or so tables can’t accommodate all the diners trying to get some of their delicious offerings.

Great place to eat, our family typically comes here often and we always get great service. They seem overstaffed and someone is always available to either refill your tea or ensure you are taken care of. They also have private rooms if you need. The owner if the restaurant also is there quite often and always willing to make sure her customers are happy.

This is my second time here. We drove 50 min to eat this amazing dim sum. There is a large variety and everything is wonderful. The short ribs are tender and silky. The flavor is almost buttery. The soup dumplings are a party in your mouth. The pork and shrimp shu Mai pungent and subtle. Every single bite was stunning. Even when there is a wait it is worth the time.

m

The food is good! I especially loved the Chinese broccoli and the sesame balls with red beans. Most other places only serve sesame balls with Lotus. The place was packed with wait times of 30 minutes. Luckily, there were just 2 of us, and we agreed to sit at a small table in a corner, so we didn't have to wait. Definitely worth going to especially of you're in the SG Valley!

We love this restaurant for dim sum and regular meals. The Chinese broccoli is bright green, tender and tasty. The beef tenderloin is melt- in -your mouth delicious ! My favorite is the steamed turnip cakes (dim sum).

My first ever experience with dim sum and it definitely was a great experience! I knew I was in an authentic restaurant when I was a part of the minority in the restaurant during lunch hour. We were served quickly. Absolutely delicious food! The dumplings here are to die for!

This is my favorite go-to dim sum place. The food is always fresh! It's about 4-5 dollars per dish, but the food is wonderful. Their honey baked BBQ buns are a must try! Dim sum is everyday until 3pm.

Table for 6. Got our name down at noon and we were seated after 20 minutes, exactly as the hostess had predicted. The din sum meal was served quickly after we placed our order, and the dessert came at the end just as we wanted. Service was fast, the interior decor was lovely and clean. Basically everything I'd ever want in a Chinese restaurant.

I seldom went for dinner but tonite a friend wanted to give me a treat. The food ordered are a bit off. Maybe the dishes were not my favourite, maybe the chef at night are not as good as other times. And it’s unusually quiet compared to lunch hours. Anyway, a little bit disappointed!

Have been here many times for lunch. It is always delicious. The dishes are served quickly and are fresh. The salted egg yolk custard pastry is probably my favorite thing on their menu. If you’re in the area check it out as they provide authentic Chinese food.

A traditional Chinese dim sum and Chinese restaurant. Food was delicious and came to the table quickly. Congee was perfect along with the Chinese broccoli, turnip cakes, bok choy and buns. We will be back. We'll worth the drive to Arcadia!!

This was my go-to place to eat Chinese food ever since I was little. We went here for my sister's 50th birthday brunch and it was excellent. The menu was easy to read and the dim sum choices were excellent. Mostly everything I wanted and usually get but there were some fried things that I wish were there. We got there at an early time so there was no wait and tables were available. I would definitely come here again. I'm glad their quality has not changed.

I really like this place - food was excellent and service was fast. They don’t do carts here - you fill out a sheet and they’ll bring out your order. Parking lot is pretty big but shared with a bunch of other businesses. We got tripe, Shu Mai, spare ribs, chicken feet, shrimp balls and salted egg yolk custard buns (my personal favorite) - delish.

We were in Pasadena/Acadia area last Saturday (9/13/25) around lunch time, we knew a restaurant called Capital Restaurant and the google map led us to this place. It was not the restaurant in my mind but we were hungry. We waited for about 5 minutes and got a table for three. Most of the customers were there for dim sum but we were not. We did order several dim sum to start with and we ordered the French beef and a big lobster, same as we did a week ago in Newport Seafood Restaurant in Rowland Heights. The food in this restaurant was at least same or even better than what we got a week ago. Lobster market price was 29$/lb and ours was 4.5 lbs, this is slightly cheaper but the taste was really good, the only difference was the noodle portion from this restaurant was slightly less than the one we had before. I definitely recommend the big lobster dish to everyone who loves lobster.

Great dimsum place! Instead of the typical dimsum carts going around, you order your dimsum items off a menu and give the order sheet to the server. No need to keep an eye out on when that specific dimsum cart is approaching your table! Very good system here. There are still servers that hold trays of dimsum items but mostly just dessert items. Friendly and attentive staff. Easy free parking lot. Reasonable prices. Nothing really to complain about here.

C

Got a variety of Dim Sum for a fair price. Pork shumai was particularly juicy. Packed to go boxes held well. The taro cake was new to me, but was very reminiscent of mashed potatoes... rectangularly shaped and pan fried.

D

There’re tons of dim sum Cantonese seafood restaurants in the San Gabriel valley area. While Chef Tony in Arcadia, on Michelin guide, and Harbor Seafood Restaurant in Rosemead, a Michelin star, are champions, they don’t have the almond milk pastry which this restaurant proudly serves. It’s exotic and delicious.

K
Kelly Kim

Very good dim sum place. The food is cleaner (not as greasy) and a bit fresher than other dim sum places. It tends to be a bit pricier than other dim sum places but rarely have I gone where I had to wait for a table, so saving 30 minutes to wait for a table at the more popular dim sum places is worth the little extra in costs.

W
Willa Chang

One of the best dim sum food I had the chance of eating, has a large variety of selections. They all taste very good, but only pet peeve I had was there was no pricing until they finally gave you the check. However the food quality and service makes up for it.

the seafood congee is very delicious, but I feel they are not very careful about cleanliness because there was a tiny black thingy inside the congee.

This place has authentic good foods from the east. The spice level though is less which I believe could be to attract many customers. Their starter soup and roast duck makes you want more. The servers are always on the lookout which I think is good. I would visit this place again easily.

J

This is primarily a dim sum restaurant. It is very popular. On the weekends expect to wait for a table during prime business hours. The dim sum is high quality. You order from a piece of paper rather than the carts rolling around so you need to have an idea about what you want.

m

A very good place for Dim Sum. Good selection of dishes. Salted egg custard filled pinapple buns are a notable treat, and tripe is very flavorful with ginger. Bring a large party so you can select many dishes to share. Takes reservations!

For the lovers of real Chinese cuisine it's a must. Obviously it's not possible to say that is the only way to cook Chinese food, but talking with the Chinese guests inside the restaurant that day, they confirmed that everything was so genuine. Personally is not the kind of kitchen I prefer but everything was good. Staff if not kind at all, most of the time they doesn't look at you. Restrooms are clean. Price are high. $$$

Good and fresh ingredients. Portions are on the small side and more expensive than other dim sum spots. No push carts, you order off a menu. It's a clean restaurant and worth a try.

Gone here several times. Twice for dim sum and once for dinner. The dim sum is all delicious. And it all comes out pretty quick. We did have to remind them of an item they missed both times, but it came out real fast after that. The prices are also very good, not too expensive for the amount given. For 2 people we spent $40 and had enough for dinner. The dinner was good, but way too expensive. For 4 people it was over $100 for 4 dishes, that's way too much. So I won't return for the dinner, but I will come back over and over for the dim sum.

We have been coming here for dim sum for quite awhile now. This place’s dim sum is very consistent with its quality, a decent domain outfit. But tonight is my first having dinner here. We were entertaining our American friends and I want to take them to a nice Chinese restaurant with table cloth and decent atmosphere. I was a bit nervous about their foods as I have not tried them myself before. It turned out that their foods are decent like their dim sum. I booked my reservation on Open Table and we were seated right away when we arrived. The manager and the waiter were very friendly and helpful on helping us to choose dishes. We ended up with beef string bean, fried crispy noodle with chicken, asparagus with scallops, and sweat sour pork chop. All dishes are very tasty and flavorful. I like the scallop asparagus dish the best. The scallops are very tender and the asparagus are crunch and fresh. The fried noodle was a bit bland. I guess that’s the Cantonese style of cooking. We ended the dinner with mango pudding and red bean soup desserts. While my wife loved mango pudding, I like their red bean soup. Will be back for more dim sum next weekend.

M
Mirtha Hernandez

We enjoyed the delicious food. It was brought out in a timely manner, hot in temperature. Very flavorful. However, the kung pao shrimp was rather sweet and not spicy at all. Can't decide if the wor wonton soup was my favorite or the dry chow fun with seafood. The extremely heavy tea pot was an interesting item. The plastic cup for my water was a bit odd. My friend asked for a coke than changed it to hot tea instead, and got both. We did have to ask two separate servers for hot sauce. Unfortunately we went there for dim sum, not aware that there is no dim sum at dinner time. We also were not aware they were closing an hour early, so we only had an hour.

We had dim sum here, we we're lucky that we only waited 10 minutes on Sunday at 1pm. It could be very busy I imagine. The food was averagely good, the service was a little slow. I liked the tea options they had, a couple types of tea you don't normally get at Chinese restaurants here in LA.

First time trying this place as I was hoping it was seafood dim sum. It doesn't seem to be. They have an extensive menu with many traditional Chinese beef, pork, and chicken dishes as well as a plethora of seafood options. We saw king crab at Market price and were excited until we learned that they only sell the whole crab, it's $72/lb and it's 10 lbs. We were 2 for dinner and only one of us really loves crab so a $720 meat course seemed a bit extravagant. Opted for the Lobster at 3.5 lbs and $29/lb it seemed like a bargain. It was well cooked and nicely presented though the ginger preparation was a bit heavy and such a large Lobster has a tendency to have rather tougher meat in parts. Perhaps the house preparation would have been better or maybe I should have opted for scallops which I prefer to Lobster in any case. This is a very traditional Chinese restaurant with chandeliers and white tablecloths in a decidedly banquet hall style. Service was fine and I got a bit of a chuckle out of the waiter telling me we couldn't order the king crab as it was too much for two people. I wonder if they serve smaller portions when the restaurant is busy and more people order crab. Maybe then they can kill the beast and split it by pound to several tables... We might have to return with an army of crab lovers or on a busy night. Or just go across the street to Red Lobster. Ha! String beans were tasty as were the egg rolls.

Decent dim sum in Arcadia. Pricier then your average dim sum. But the food quality is better in my opinion. Ordering is by an order form (see photo for menu), not the traditional carts. Service was quick and attentive. Make sure to ask for your desired type of tea, otherwise they'll just assume you want jasmine.

D
David Shih

This upscale Cantonese seafood restaurant is where suburban Chinese families dine for minor celebrations and occasions. I tried the sea scallops with asparagus, stir-fried with ginger and scallion; it was prepared very well. I would expect their lobster (which appears quite popular with other diners) to be similarly very good.

I come here quite often, especially for lunch with my peers. We love their salted fried rice—it's our go-to dish that we always order. I'm also a big fan of the chicken feet and never skip it. Other dishes I frequently order include the shrimp har gow, tofu skin roll (with shrimp), shrimp and pork shiu mai, steamed pork dumplings, sesame seed balls, steamed Chinese broccoli, and the almond milk pastry dessert. Occasionally, I’ll also get the spicy salt and pepper fish or tofu, beef and broccoli, and another beef dish. The only time I was disappointed was when I ordered a fish filet dish with sauce—it turned out to be a whole steamed fish cut into pieces. The smell was extremely unpleasant, the taste wasn’t good at all, and it cost almost $40. I won’t order a fish dish I'm unfamiliar with again. Also, just a heads-up: if you order tea, it comes with the spicy chili oil. If you don’t want tea but still ask for chili oil, they’ll charge you—so you might as well get the tea! Overall, I really enjoy their food and will definitely continue coming back.

Randomly found this spot and was in the mood for dim sum, as usual. They had just opened when we arrived. We placed our order and were out within an hour. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the very good quality of the ingredients. Opt for a lunch special and a couple of dim sum items, and you're good to go. Pretty packed place! Came on a Saturday noontime and there was a line out the door! Thankfully my relatives came early and got us a spot inside already. We had two big tables. I was looking around for a waiter cause we really needed water (100 degrees today) and I asked a worker nearby. He was awesome and brought water over after he finished the task he was working on! The food was delish!! Parking is plenty and there is even a shaded parking structure. I did see some flies roaming around but those are inevitable.

This is a dimsum place without carts that they push around the restaurant. You order it from the menu. In 2017 they price were: category A $2.88, B $3.88 C $4.88, D $5.98, and K $6.98 Price is slightly higher than other dimsum places (especially in China town or Alhambra). However, the place is clean and neat. Plus you don't have to go through the crazy queuing like other traditional dim sum place, soo it's still worth it. Chicken feet is my favorite and I think they make a good one here. The Chinese egg custard is very delicious. Shumai, pork bun, potstickers, ... and many more I have tried. So far so good. Private rooms are available, The restroom is on the right side of the entrance upon entering the main door. Free parking on site. I will come back again for sure.

Pretty large restaurant with private rooms and outdoor seating. Typical Cantonese cuisine. The jelly fish was so so, lacked flavor. The fatty beef with bean sprouts was pretty good, thinly sliced, ok tenderness, not too fatty. The veg stir fry was average, some tough pieces. Portions are large. Ok CP!

I think I would give 4.5 stars. The service is great (lunch on a weekday) plus it helps to take someone who speaks Chinese! I have not been to many Dim Sum restaurants before to compare.

First time to try this restaurant with our team. The food is great and tasty. The service has some room for improvement. My team and I went there for late lunch and they're still seem busy but there were empty table settings. We were seated separately and unwilling to move us closer together even after clearing another table or two, though, we haven't been served yet. It's a typical ethnic restaurant where they do not put much thought on how the restaurant looks as long they serve good food is what I observed. They could definitely hit it a notch on the areas of service and ambience for a more enjoyable and "feel good" dining experience. Overall, pleased with what we ate.

I really enjoyed the meal at Capital. The food was delicious, the service was attentive, and the overall atmosphere was excellent. That said, it is quite expensive. While the quality is definitely there, the high prices make it more of a "special occasion" spot than a regular hangout. It’s a great choice if you’re looking to splurge on a high-quality dinner, but be prepared for a hefty bill.

20241201 First time experience and with a group of 12.5 people, including my Chinese chef, for Sunday dim sum brunch, the food, service & atmosphere was really good. Definitely would come back and recommend. Clean bathrooms. Plenty of outdoor parking. High chairs available. One handicap parking spot in the front, saw 2 one-table private rooms and a separated banquet room from the main dining hall. Takes credit cards.

We haven’t eaten here for years, but decided to stop by for some fresh steamed fish while we were in the area. The fish was indeed fresh and prepared properly, though the weight that we’d paid for seemed to be less than the actual weight. Other dishes were good as well. A corkage fee of $25 was reasonable.

This is wonderful place has showed exquisite hospitality and food…I recommend this number in this city👌🏾… James Dean… over all the food is great but I wouldn’t pay the price they ask… I was told that the food had been sitting all day and there was no chef for me to speak to… how saddening is that?,. I invited a friend to Capital Seafood to celebrate his birthday. He opted for their Dim Dum. I was disappointed that they offer a generic selection of dim sum and though they allegedly specialize in seafood, none of their seafood offerings were exceptional. I have dined at other dim sum restaurants in Arcadia that are far superior in flavor to what this place has . I also ordered duck a non-dim sum dish and unlike the dim sum, was quite good. I have to add that the servers were not particularly cordial or friendly but I also understand that this is a Western expectation. I am not sure I will return to eat here.

Babak Eliyahou

The food is great but why don’t they serve dim sum at night?

L
Linda M

The food at this location not as tasty as the Rowland Hts and Brea locations. The dim sum, chow mein, and pork dumplings all tasted as if they used the same slightly rancid oil...that's the only way to explain it. Service was okay, dining room was pleasant, but the bathroom smelled terrible, and not because someone stunk it up. Won't be returning.

D
Dainel Manning

Service was what I made it, watch your hair as you talk over food, yes you was nice, but with a motive to rush guest out at end of your dim sum rush. I wasn’t there for dim sum. Too many menus was so confusing. No, I wasn't your traditional guest but you didn't make my visit the best. Thanks for the complimentary testers at in, but again watch your hair extensions toward the food. Greet all guest at entry to confirm take out or dine in. I waited so long I seated myself and that too was an issue. You then say we about to rush guest out that area. Please work on your customer service.

We showed up around 330pm on a Sunday. Wasnt aware of them stopping the DimSum menu. We were going to stay for dinner but the 2 employees that greeted us were beyond rude and seemed bothered. Considering the restaurant was completely empty. We live in the High Desert, dont often make it to this area. Doubt we'll make an effort to do so again. Luckily we found a solid restaurant not too far away.

The portions were quite small. Taste was alright, seriously not bad for most dishes but we expected higher quality for what we ordered. Also the wait staff was inept on the night that we went. The guy spilled our soup all over the soup spoons as well as the table. What ruined it all was how they packed up our to-go box at the end of the meal. We had 6 dishes left over (not because portions were big, but because we had a large party) and the waiter who packed it for us dumped all of it into one single box, mixing all the dishes together. WTH

Nice decor and the service wasn't bad. However the foods are substandard. The beef balls we ordered tasted like leftovers from the day before. The egg tarts looked like something that came from a box they pulled from a freezer then microwaved. The chicken feet had way too much msg, etc. Super disappointed. Oh please don't order that bamboo salad. It was bad...

Mediocre taste Dim Sum, tiny portion, and quite pricey, very slow service on a weekday lunch time. Save yourself a trip if you feel like having authentic dim sum in the region.

We decided to eat here for dinner on Father's day and got seated right away. The menu was not very impressive and seemed like the same menu for lunch. I've eaten here for dim sum and they're are much better at dim sum then they are for dinner. They should just stick to dim sum. The service was incredibly slow and our waiter was meh. The food took forever to come out and the restaurant wasn't very busy at all. I did not like the fact that we had finish eating the dishes that did come out, and we were still waiting a while for the remaining orders to arrive. We asked the waiter to check on the status of the remaining orders and he was rude, unapologetic and said it was coming, without even checking. He just stood where he was standing. If you want slow service, rude waiter and basic food, this is the place to come. Otherwise go somewhere else.

Big disappointment for frequent customers due to inferior Dim sum: we have been coming here for many years. For the past few years the quality of Dim sum has continuously gone down. Service is great but ... First their shrimp egg rolls kept getting smaller. Now there is no shrimp in the shrimp egg rolls, only a shrimp tasting paste. The real shrimp is gone. This is so sad. Then we tried their lunch special and it was just OK, no soup, no egg roll, nothing special. It is sad to see this place deteriorate like this.

Came here on a recco but it’s OK dim sum. Steamed BBQ pork bun was dry and hard. Shrimp Rice Noodle was decent. Salty Fish & Chicken Fried Rice was too salty. Need to dilute it w more rice and tea. Sesame Ball isn’t all sesame. Only one sesame, other 2 were egg yolk balls. But when you inquire they tell you it’s 3 kinds of “sesame” when you clearly see it’s not. But none of that is described in the menu. So they basically make stuff up to pass things through instead of saying they ran out. Tea is bitter from the start. Bathrooms - let’s just say it needs to be more hygienic and actually checked and cleaned. Would I recco to anyone? Will need to give this one a pass. PS. Don’t let the name fool you. There’s actually not much seafood here. At least for dim sum.

Food was good however the way staff treated us was not the best service they could provide. We ordered 8 dishes because we know we can finish it but the lady working there came and told us we are ordering too much and we don’t need to order that much. She was judging us by the way we looked and it seems like they were doubting us to finish the plates or maybe even be paying for the bill.We went in our comfy clothes with sweatpants and a shirt but they were judging us over that too. The overall staff treatment was the same and they were judging us from what we order. Not coming back here unless they make some changes to their service.

Server kept our order in his pocket and forget to give it in to staff until we brought it up to manager 25 minutes later. Nobody showed any remorse.

Horrible rip off. Ordered chicken crispy noodles for $10.95 off lunch menu. Lots of bean spouts but only two tiny strips of chicken skinnier than the bean sprouts. Talked to manager and he said he cannot control kitchen and that's just how lunch specials are. He offered to cancel the order but we would have to pay more to order something else if we want more meat. We gave up after short argument. Dim sum was expensive and not very tasty either. Will not go back.

Place pickup order online. Order was successful and confirmed to be ready at 8:13pm. Posted hours say they close at 9:00. I walked to get the food from my hotel room to find they were closed early. Kept walking further away and found a good alternative that wanted to do business. Better call this restaurant before you place an order to make sure they are really open

Unfortunately, there was a fly in one of the items I ordered. From the pictures it may be difficult to make out and that would be because it was pretty well cooked into their Mongolian beef🤢. The staff was nice and apologized and said that when it is hot they leave a window open in the kitchen and sometimes flies get in.

Worst service I have ever experienced. Asked what was vegan and the waiter told me, just look at the menu. I was shocked and told him to come over and explain what was vegan to me again and he still refused. My dad had to tell him to talk to me and when he came, he gave so much attitude and it felt like he was just saying yes that anything was vegan without actually knowing. A couple behind us started getting mad and frustrated at him because he didn’t know anything about the menu but wouldn’t go to the back to check. I feel like he was the manager too. Service is terrible, don’t come here. Food is mid and it’s not at all the restaurant it was in the past. If you have dietary restrictions or standards for hospitality, wouldn’t trust this place to be honest.
