Barzola Astoria Reviews
The food was amazing! Juicy steak and the overall atmosphere was great they have a large variety of different Ecuadorian dishes that taste just like the authentic thing ! It’s like I’m back at home in my country :) the service was great ! And beer was served with a chilled mug as well. I will be coming back with my boyfriend more often. Also they were playing old rerun episodes of yugioh on their tv HOW COOL IS THAT >_< !!!!!!!
As an Ecuadorian-Canadian, I was looking forward to visiting an Ecuadorian restaurant in New York. We were recommended Barzola, and I’m glad we visited. We ordered the plantain empanada, encebollado, chaulafan, and two fruit smoothies. The food was great, and the place has a nice ambiance. Ecuatoriano que se respete come encebollado y chaulafan! Gracias!!
Let me just start by saying that the service was amazing. Food was great and the drinks definitely made the night worth it. First time here and it won’t be my last, now to recommend this place to my girl friends 💕
Love love love! Been going to this place since forever. Best Ecuadorian/Columbian food in the area! Very traditional flavors too! The lentils and rice combo with chicken cutlet is the best. The portions are fantastic and as for appetizers I love the bolon menu they have! Make sure to order the bolon with the special salsa criolla and green sauce if they have it. Pink sauce too! Highly recommend. Great for big family or work groups and small dates with friends or significant others! They sometimes have live music which is also amazing. 🥳💅🏻👍🏽
First time in an Ecuadorian restaurant. Very good food ( not as good as my mother’s food , but very good) and a Canelazo ! Adolfo was our server and he explained the dishes and recommended some especially guanambana fruit juice ! All the workers were very nice and friendly. Will definitely come back .
Delicious Ecuadorian spot in Astoria! We’d been searching for authentic Ecuadorian food in Queens and finally found Barzola through a recommendation and it did not disappoint. The Bolón was outstanding, and the Llapingacho was hands-down the best I’ve ever had. Definitely a place I’ll return to whenever I’m in the area, and one I’d highly recommend to anyone visiting or living nearby!
We had a birthday gathering at Barzola last night, and I was truly impressed by the outstanding service we received. Our server, Jose Roman, was exceptionally attentive and efficient—he made sure our every need was met, which is no small task considering we’re quite a particular group! Anita and Paola were also incredibly kind and attentive, contributing to an overall warm and welcoming experience. To me, a restaurant can have a beautiful atmosphere and delicious food, but if the service doesn’t meet the mark, it takes away from the overall experience. I’m happy to say that Barzola exceeded our expectations on all aspects. A heartfelt thank you to Jose, Anita, and Paola for your excellent service and warm demeanor. We’ll definitely be back—and we’ll be recommending Barzola to everyone we know!
From the Ayacas to the coconut lemonades, to the main courses, it was a delight. Great atmosphere, nearby parking, no reservation required, and excellent service are what distinguish this great Ecuadorian restaurant. Less than USD $150, including tip, for a lunch for three people, it's quite affordable compared to what you'll find around town, especially in New York.
My sister had told me this place was good. I went with the family for a graduation dinner and I was so impressed! Can’t always find good Ecuadorian restaurant, according to my mama but this place did an amazing job with everything we ordered. My mom ordered the Cazuela de pescado (tuna) and she was so happy she finally was having one of her favorite dishes that tasted like what she was use to back in Ecuador. It was delicious! I had the seco de chivo! Amazing flavor! Good happy hour drinks. I’ll be back with my husband to try more dishes. And now my mom will probably be back every week 😜 also the staff was very nice and friendly. They were so kind to my niece (the graduate). They made her day very memorable ❤️
Ecuadorian Restaurante in NY with savory food and warm people that remembers me my country 🇪🇨 The bartender is such as an incredible host and the servers the most friendly people I have ever met in a restaurant 😊 Definitely I’ll come back with my friends, thank you for bring a part of Ecuador to USA 🫶🏻💛💙❤️ thank you for the experience 🤍
My first time here, on Christmas Day it was a good experience. The vibes of the restaurant were good and we had a good time. The service was good however it took about 20 mins after eating to track someone down just to get the check. Staff was nice and friendly. Food was great in my opinion. The Bolon did not meet expectation as it was quite dry, but overall a good experience. I would recommend this place for any event or just a night out.
This is the best Ecuadorian restaurant in Queens. The llapingachos were perfect, the breaded shrimp was crispy and well seasoned, the shrimp ceviche was the best my sister has ever tried. The service was fast and friendly, the drinks were strong and the portions were generous, we will absolutely be back.
Barzola Ecuadorian Restaurant is a hidden gem in Jackson Heights, Queens. It's a small, family-owned restaurant that serves up some of the best Ecuadorian food in the city. The menu is full of traditional Ecuadorian dishes, all made with fresh, authentic ingredients. The service is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting.
I love soups and tried soups in many places but I can say the Chicken soup here was so so so good. You must try it! Also the lentils were very good , perfect flavor and seasoning. Also the avocado Salad was delicious The service was as well good, everyone was kind. The waitress spoke Spanish and English and also was very kind to accommodate my requests. Overall a top experience.
My first Ecuadorian restaurant experience. The spacious store has a modern display that creates a comfortable feel. I said the steak was delicious, but today I tried Ecuadorian food. It wasn't bad, but I didn't have much fun with it. However, I like the friendly staff and the spacious store, so I plan on eating steak next time.
Food was beyond bland. The French fries with hot dogs were good and that was about it. The steak had no flavor, the rice was over cooked, and the rest of the meals were equally bland as well. Half the order came out and the rest came out later. The music was far too loud. The manzana soda was also good. The staff was not attentive as other restaurants around the area.
Been coming to barzola for many years. And within the last few months their food has been very inconsistent. A month ago we bought a bolon mixto that was extremely salty. Yesterday's bolon was good. I usually order a caldo de bola and encebollado. And yesterday's caldo de bola was very bland. And the caldo de pata, just extremely bland and lacking flavor. It was the first time ordering that and i think it will be the last time.
