Best bagles. You cannot get a better bagel!

This place was great. Was walking distance from my AirBnB. I wanted to find some authentic NY bagels for breakfast and this was perfect. I ordered 2 bagels but could only eat one because they were so huge. Packed the other one away for later. Reasonable prices, great service, and great bagels. Highly recommend.

Delicious bagels! Heard a New Yorker call a friend to say she finally found the perfect bagel. I had the lox spread which was so scrumptious. Always worried I won't finish because they are so filling, but I make it happen. :) Kind staff and they also use an app for take out called ChowNow that doesn't take out fee like UberEats, etc. But worth going in-person to get the fresh hot goodness of these bagels.

Excellent bagel! I ordered the Hell's Kitchen on an Asiago Jalapeño bagel. It's BIG, the diablo cream cheese was on the heavier side so I'll try another one next time and ask them to add less. The bagel was top notch, I'm full and happy.

The best bagels in the city, hands down. I don't live close by, so I always get a half dozen of different varieties, which I take home and freeze for up to a month. I also get one for the road, topped with cream cheese, or lox, or white fish, etc and a coffee. I defrost and toast each bagel when I'm ready to eat it, and the flavor and consistency is just as good as if I'd bought it that day.

My absolute favorite bagel place! So happy I’m in delivery range. I may never make breakfast for myself ever again. Perfectly chewy bagel, always toasted just right. The best ingredients that are never too greasy and always taste fresh. Delicious and strong cold brew. And really quick and friendly delivery. Order now, for real :)

Awesome spot for some quick bagels! I tried the Cooper, a real tasty lox bagel. They even have French toast bagels which were perfect with a strawberry cream cheese spread. They also offer breakfast sandwiches if you prefer. The staff were nice and friendly. Definitely recommend!

One of my favorite bagel spots in NYC! Not only their bagels are amazing ( the cooper is great) but their breakfast wraps are really good! My go to is the hungry beast! The friendly staff makes it a great experience!

Whenever I see an orange juice machine I cannot resist and neither should you. There are 2 lines: one line you order your meal and on a separate line you pay and order your drinks. Their bagels are soft and when you ask them to toast it, there's enough crispness to them without making taste too hard. Typically order an Egg & Cheese toasted on Everything. They butter it and the eggs is well cooked not overcooked with American cheese. For 2 of those it was just under $10.50. They are quick and friendly.

Just arrived in NYC and my brother picked up bagels for my first meal. I’m not a bagel person but these bagel sandwiches were mind blowing! Best I ever had

The best bagel in the US! I traveled all the way to have this bagel from SF after moving, and of course no regret or no disappoint. I miss this place so much. I used to live in this area for more than 4 years and visited this place almost every morning to have a bagel with quality cream cheese flavors. Always this place is the best.

Best bagels ever. They’re massive! The everything bagel is perfect seasoned. I get a dozen (14) every time i go and often I ask friends to bring me back some. You will not be disappointed.

The best bagel in NYC in my opinion. Always consistent, good quality, warm (because I order toasted) and the staff is friendly. It is my go to every Sunday.

These bagels are excellent. The best I found in 3 weeks in NYC. $1.40 each. The black stuff is Vegemite from Australia. Only Australian understand or like it.

Everything bagel BEC - as an NYC BEC connoisseur, I’d give it an 8/10 as they were a little light on the cheese but the bagel itself was exceptional. Prompt and friendly staff at this location as well.

I’ve been going here for 2 years. It’s tough to beat. The service is on point. I typically get the Hell’s Kitchen on a toasted everything bagel. 10/10.

Always a reliable (chain) place to get a good bagel sandwich. Favorite is the Sriracha Sandwich. Place is too pricey for me to go consistently. Costs me about $20 for the sandwich and a large iced coffee black. Can also get a bit chaotic especially if you haven't been here before. No clear "order here" or "wait here" signs for newbies to understand what's happening. I've had time where my order has taken very long while others are zipping out all around me. No big deal since it's still very good food.

Great bagels and a huge selection. We visited as it was recommended in the NYC Lonely Planet guide. It was well worth the trip from Manhattan!

The bagels were amazing. I was there, from Ohio, visiting my son and he took us there this past Sunday. It was very busy, but the staff was pleasant and the food was incredible. I ordered the broadway, which was so delicious. We also bought bagels to bring back home. We will definitely go again when in town visiting. Only thing upsetting was that they were out of onion bagels. However, all the bagels I’ve tried so far have been amazing. Thank you!

I absolutely loved my colorful rainbow bagel. It was so fresh and delicious. I absolutely love bagels and this bagel was so good. The size of the bagel was great, large and very filling. They have a great association of cream cheeses and other spreads. They have a lot of beverage options both hot and cold. I'm so glad that I decided to give this cafe a try. They make the best and freshest bagels around. I would highly recommend this bagel shop to anyone looking for a quick and yummy breakfast on the go. Thank you for your great bagels.

Love this local spot for not just breakfast but also lunch! My go-to lunch order is the Cooper on an everything bagel. 🥯 It consists of smoked salmon, avocado, red onions, tomatoes, capers, and lemon juice. Healthy and delicious!

S
Saba Z

My usual order is 1) everything bagel, scrambled egg, avocado, 2slice of Swiss cheese 2) everything bagel sausage, egg, Swiss cheese, tomato, pickled jalapeño 3) orange juice. They have never disappointed and deliver on time with no spills or messiness. Great chewy bagel! Always order with one egg instead of two so the bagel does not get soggy. (Pro tip)

First time here and I loved it! Really cool looking cafe with art and nice designs. The bagels were amazing! And they were really big and inexpensive. The cream cheese serving was a lot. Maybe a little too much but you do get your money's worth. But they a very wide variety of delicious cream cheeses to choose from. The bagels were toasted perfectly and they were very fresh. Definitely would recommend this place and I wanna visit whenever I'm in NY. The rainbow bagel is what I got. And then I went up the street for some Starbucks.

Great fluffy bagels! We love the blueberry, whole wheat and whole wheat everything bagels. Definitely get them in the morning I find they are best then and my fav spot in LIC area. We sometimes get them delivered and the service is very quick

Oh boy oh boy. This bagels and toppings are great. I was eating them on on breakfast for a week and I gained about 2 pounds. But it was great. They can even make you two different toppings on one bagel. My favorite toppings are Honey Bacon Sriracha and Strawberry. I can even compare this bagels to croissants served in Paris.

S

Bagels are fresh and huge and tasty! Lots of choices. Cream cheeses are fantastic and all worth it. Highlights include bacon and scallion cream cheese and jalapeño Asiago! Credit cards accepted. A little pricey but worth it! Lines usually out the door. Highly recommended!

I don’t know who decided three best bagels in NY, but really don’t know why this place is not included. :/ Their cream cheese is not heavy and creamy enough to make the dense bagel lighter!

Although I've never stepped foot inside, I've been ordering from them via Uber eats for years. They never disappoint and they follow any instructions you give them with any weird combo you can think of. It's fast delivery service too and I would say reasonably priced. Been meaning to recommend to bae, I gotta bring him some one day. Photo is fried egg on a toasted everything bagel with scallion cream cheese and onions! Slammmmmin! This spot hits on a Sunday morning before you start cleaning the house.

Absolutely loved their bagel & lox. Ordered it on a super puffy Everything bagel, so puffy that there wasn’t even a hole in the middle, which I absolutely love. Ordered it with plain cream cheese and red onions, made for a delicious breakfast!

One seated customer, only other one left ad I came. Wonderfully empty. Thoughtful staff included knives.

Great bagel- soft, chewy, and flavorful. The whitefish salad was smoky and scrumptious, but perhaps a tad too salty. Lacks seating, especially for such a busy bagel joint.

K

Best best best bagels ever! Staff is very warm and friendly too. The kettle boiled bagels speak for themselves but the 20 or so delicious variety of cream cheese flavors make this place the best bagel place in NYC in my opinion. Oh and they're not overly priced. I usually pay 10 dollars for a bagel with flavored cream cheese and a coffee (who can afford 20 bucks for a bagel with cream cheese and coffee anyway?) thanks for reading!

D

I tried the gluten free bagel with vegan tofu vegetable cream cheese and it was excellent! I am gluten free and lactose intolerant so bagle+cream cheese is not in my typical diet. But I stopped in after mass at the Most Precious Blood church for a quick breakfast while traveling, and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. I wish I had a place like this closer to where I live.

Each time we visit from the UK to stay in Astoria we rush here the following day to grab a bagel and coffee. The selection of bagels and cream cheeses are fantastic and the staff are always kind. Looking forward to heading back next time we're over.

Consistently delicious. I generally go in the morning but even if I go later in the day, the bagels are fresh, chewy, and perfect NY bagels. Go for the blueberry bagel and any one of their flavored cream cheeses. Their bakers’ dozen is 14 so I usually split it up between 2-3 families. Yum!

Brooklyn Bagel & Coffee Company in Astoria is one of those neighborhood spots that lives up to its reputation. It’s always busy, which already tells you a lot, but the flow is generally well managed and worth the short wait. The atmosphere is casual and lively, very much a local favorite rather than a tourist stop. The bagels are the real highlight at least for my taste, thick, chewy, and perfectly baked, with that ideal balance between a crisp exterior and a soft, dense inside. There variety is impressive, from classic plain and everything bagels to more indulgent options, and the cream cheese selection is extensive and creative. Portions are generous, almost over-the-top, but that’s part of the charm. Coffee is solid and dependable, exactly what you want alongside a bagel, and it pairs well with the food without trying to steal the spotlight. The staff works fast and efficiently, even during peak hours, and while the place can feel a bit hectic when it’s crowded, the energy adds to the experience. Overall, Brooklyn Bagel & Coffee Company is a reliable go-to in Astoria, great bagels, generous portions, fair prices, and that unmistakable New York neighborhood vibe that keeps people coming back again and again.

This bagel restaurant is a true paradise for food lovers! From the moment you walk in, you can feel the pleasant atmosphere, and the smiling, friendly staff make you feel welcome right away. The menu offers a really wide selection – from classic bagels with cream cheese and salmon to more creative combinations with meat, vegetables, or vegan options. The bagels are fresh, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the ingredients are always high quality. Everyone can find something to enjoy, no matter their taste preferences. It’s a great spot both for a quick breakfast and a relaxed lunch. Highly recommended – delicious food, plenty of choice, and wonderful service make you want to come back again and again!

Egg Bagel with Veggie cream cheese 5/5 The bagel was so soft and the cream cheese was fresh. The staff was also very nice and accommodating- I have a sesame allergy so they took time ensuring no sesame seeds were on my bagel Tried the Honey Bacon Sriracha cream cheese as well - really good

The best NY style bagels EVER. end your search this is the spot. Perfect chewy outside soft inside and not to mention they are massive. They have a lot of flavors to choose from and they have decadent homemade cream cheese to pair it with. The bacon egg and cheese and the lox bagel are my two favorite sandwiches they make. I always take home jalapeño bagels and Garlic herd cream cheese. Try fresh squeezed OJ!!!

Loved their bagels! Took two everything bagels with Siracha and jalapeño cream cheese both were delicious. We could taste the flavours before getting them, staff are so friendly and welcoming. Our order was ready in couple of minutes. There’s seating inside the shop to grab and eat. Variety of drinks and other sandwiches are available. And they had the whole wheat bagel 👀👀 as well. Solid bagel shop overall

We enjoyed our final bagels of our trip here on a freezing cold Sunday morning. The place was bustling, but service was quick and efficient. I got an everything bagel and lox, open faced, and it was very good, though I had to move toppings around to make it more even. The egg sandwich was also good, and very steamy for the cold day.

I absolutely love the bagels here. The outside is the perfect amount of crisp while the inside is soft and delicious. I’ve tried a bunch of the bagels & they’re all so good! The Minis are $1.50 and there’s nothing mini about them lol. They have a great selection of cream cheeses. I recently tried the Sriracha bagel which was so yummy I went back just days later to get another one. My husband always gets the salmon with lox cc & raves about it every time.

Good quality food! Just make sure when you request something that they actually do it, just wish the employees listen when I ask them not to put a 1/2 pound of cream cheese on my bagel. Sometimes less is more enjoyable. This is happened on four or five separate occasions.

S

Fantastic bagels! This is a great place for someone that wants a nice Long Island bagel. I had the multi grain bagel with lox, regular cream cheese, and onion. It was just what I wanted and it was a lot of food. I think I was content for 4 hours after eating it. The cream cheese is heavy heavy and rich so be prepared if you are not used to heavy creme, I would ask for not as much creme cheese. The people preparing the bagels are generous with the amount of cream cheese they give you. Very clean, nice facility, and great options to put on your bagel. They also make sandwiches, and wraps. And the soup looked really nice! The coffee was very nice and a good price for a small cup.

Great Bagels with a lot of options how you want to order your own bagel. Only the italian coffee was not so good as the bagels.

E
Ekaterina Spiridonova

Would’ve given 3.5 stars, maybe I was unlucky. My toasted coconut bagel ($1.40) was chewy and seemed like it was from yesterday; tofu cream cheese ($2.15) was ok, but I had better. Coffee is average neither good or bad. Employees were nice. The place itself is very small and cramped. No outside seating. Most likely you’ll need to wait for a place to sit. Some customers are rude, saw the lady walked to a table and asked two girls to empty seats even though they haven’t finished eating. I would suggest to save your nerves and order only to go if the place’s busy.

This is a popular local bagel shop located along Broadway in Astoria. They offer a wide variety of bagels, flavored cream cheeses, and drinks like coffee, perfect for breakfast or brunch. You can dine in or take out. The bagels are large and filling, and they’re always generous with the cream cheese! Here are my two favorites: 1) Multigrain bagel with smoked salmon, avocado, and cream cheese. It’s hearty, flavorful, and feels healthy. 2) Blueberry bagel with blueberry cream cheese. Slightly sweet and simple. If you’re in Astoria, this spot is definitely worth checking out!

Tried their Flavour of the day(Blueberry I think)..Was chewy and fresh.Got some cream cheese along with it and they are generous!A thick layer inside. The 16 Oz hot chocolate is warm but nothing extraordinary I guess..just good old hot chocolate. The initial order taking was smooth but the collection is a bit messy. They can call out numbers out of order.Another thing that is confusing is that beverages have to be ordered at the cashier and collection so thats a bit confusing as well. Place is compact and seating is limited..so many grab to go.

I consider Brooklyn Bagel to be one of the best bagel places in NY. So many option for bagels including healthy ones. Many varieties of cream cheeses & even tofu. They also have bagel sandwich options & pancakes. I wish they had more organic options though. My favorite is the whole wheat everything bagel with veggie cream cheese/tofu. I often get bagels to go & prices are great for the quality (warm & chewy) & size of the bagel. They are big & it is hard to finish one for a single person. Great breakfast option for meetings as well. Highly recommended!!

One of the better bagel spots in the area. The place is busy for a reason! Get the cream cheese and lox. The bagels are so fresh in the morning. You’ll need someone to grab a table while you order if you want to eat there on a busy weekend.

$15 for a bagel with cream cheese and a few slices of salmon. That’s it. I don’t know, food taste alright but is it worth it? Service is not that great either.

Very nice bagels, but the worst coffee I ever had! My espresso literally tasted like soil, my girlfriend got a cup of hot milk when we asked for espresso macchiato. Highly recommended for bagels but get your coffee elsewhere.

Quality of bagel has gone so far down hill in 18 -24 months that the bagel I picked up today could have been bought at the grocery store down the street- 5.17 for a store bought bagel and cream cheese. I come here all the time and freeze bagels but no more. On the hunt for a bagel place that is actually making nyc bagels.

K
Karma Lama

Located near Queens Stienway Astoria, local made Bagel. So many variety of bagel and different cream cheese. Taste great.

Ingrid
Ingrid

I truly believe they have the best bagels, but sometimes it gets annoying when ordering and they give you the wrong order. I’m home now and I ordered a lox scallion bagel… only to find out they gave me a lox bagel with no scallions… the salmon pieces are also so small. For a 9 dollar bagel I expect the order to at least be correct.

J
Jessica Rothman

I love the bagels, but the delivery service needs improvement. If I order bagels and I’m sitting at home waiting for them, I don’t expect them to be dropped off on the doormat outside my door without someone knocking or buzzing my bell. They are not wrapped and just sitting out?! Nope.

L
Leslie Baker

Just not great. Bagel and scallion bacon cream cheese heavy. A little expensive too. A good bagel shouldn't need to be toasted. You can buy this quality at any bagel store. Seemed like the quality has gone down. Not a gourmet treat.

J
James

Isn’t it great getting home to find the wrong order. I don’t eat cheese but they are incapable of making a bacon egg without the stuff

D
Dave Thompson

Not worth the money - $11 buys you about one slice of lox/salmon. Not the first time it happened either. Go to the New York City Bagel & Coffee House a few blocks away - far, far better value for money.

H
Hugo F

This place has the best bagels I've ever had. Unfortunately they’ve lessened their spread amount by far too much. My hummus spread was as minimal as possible. They also still haven't figured out how to move the line when it's busy.

G
Gabrielle Gordon

Edit to add: may 29th I should have learned my lesson but I never do. Ordered a lox bagel for 14 dollars and got ripped off again. And they didnt even send it on the correct bagel. About to give up on brooklyn bagel entirely. I still like the bagels but the quality of how the sandwiches are made has declined soooo much. I probably order weekly from here and I've gotten burnt bagels, liquified cream cheese and barely any lox (only 2 slices that's not the 1/4 lb noted on the menu) on a 20 dollar sandwhich. Quality is hit or miss which is upsetting on delivery orders.

J
Jenna D

$8 dollar bagel , was very disappointed with the amount of vegetable cream cheese on my bagel, and I also asked for it to be extra toasted, making sure that it was dark and it was not toasted. I come to this location often but I’m not sure. I think I have to find a new bagel spot now.

L
Luis Cardus

Back in NY for the holidays, one of the few things you miss from here is a good bagel and pizza. When Brooklyn Bagel first opened up, it was a great place to have breakfast, and you could always count on having a good bagel. But thru the years, service and quality has gone down. An everything bagel with lox spread is now 7 and change, we can understand inflation. But there is no reason why a customer has to walk back to a store to complain about the amount of lox spread that was placed on the bagel. When I did, the young lady showed it to the guy servicing the bagels, and then he questions me, and I said yes I ordered an everything bagel lightly toasted with lox spread, look at it, would you pay the amount I did for the amount on it, he takes the same bagel added more to it, wrapped it with the same wrapper without the bag, hands it to me and I said thank you. I get home, the same lightly toasted bagel had the same amount of spread on it, but he added lox to it and it is now cold. I am not walking back to the store to confront the same employees and manager there today. In fact, I won't be going to your store front anymore!

This is the worst “bagel” place I’ve ever been to in NY. The bagels here are really just rolls. They aren’t real bagels. Lived in NYC/ Long Island my whole life and this place feels like a commercial chain deli that can get by just because of the amount of people that aren’t from the area and don’t know what a real bagel is. The BEC at this place don’t even have cheese. I think they add the cheese into the eggs or something. Seems like they cut corners every way they can. Anyone that’s been eating from real New York delis their whole life should be able to quickly realize this place is the equivalent of what ”Outback” is to steakhouses. Works for those who don’t know any better. Go support a real deli that serves real bagels.

Purchased a bagel for my vegetarian partner , avocado, hash brown and cream cheese. There were 7 staff working and just standing around with one group of 3 talking about how expensive rent is in Astoria. Got home and opened it up and it had bacon all through it. The ticket and order receipt did not mention bacon at all. The staff need to really understand how upsetting this is for someone who is vegetarian and concentrate on the simply orders. We will not be going back there.

Ordered a lightly toasted egg bagel with vegetable cream cheese. Paid $6.21. Was looking forward to eating it but burnt beyond recognition. Never more

Usually can get a decent bagel here but recently had a bad delivery experience. 2/3 of our bagels had a measly teaspoon of cream cheese on them. What's the point of paying so much for bagels when they're not providing the quality and quantity that you're paying for? It's very frustrating to pay over $15 for a bagel with lox and CC and get a teaspoon of cream cheese with your order. Stick to New York Bagel and Coffee House.

Do not come here for ice lattes - or coffee in general. They do not make lattes - it is ice coffee (or made from concentrate). My ice latte was bitter and watered down. In my opinion it was a poorly made coffee for 8$
