District Saigon Broadway Reviews
Wow!! What an extremely amazing establishment for a Vietnamese food in Astoria Queens. Everything we had was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the dumplings and the piña colada. The banh mi was out of this world. Best chicken banh mi i’ve ever had. I will say the service was a little lackluster that night no hate on the staff. There were only three people working that night and it was extremely busy. I give kudos to them and they definitely deserve the tip. But the restaurant ownership definitely needs to do more hiring or better staffing for weekend nights. The atmosphere also was extremely good. We had a community table as the restaurant was packed and I will say it was absolutely lovely. I highly recommend you to go to this restaurant and it was not too expensive.
Went here for dinner with 9 of us and they were able to fit us no problem. The curry chicken was very flavorful and would get again. The bun lemon grass chicken dish was very light and refreshing. The pho was full and flavorful. The bah mi sandwich was just the right size for a meal. The steak and eggs the meat was a little tough but the seasoning was good. Drinks too a minute to come out but it was just one person making and bringing them out so that made sense. The food came fast and the service was good. Overall would come back
I like this little place. Conveniently located on Broadway in Queens between the R and the N/W lines, it has a festive atmosphere and friendly service. My daughter loves the pho and the summer rolls. Today I tried the catfish bun, and though the vermicelli noodles were a little plain, the fish was tender and delicious.
Doesn’t matter if you’re the bigger carnivore out there you must order the vegan crepe, it’s beyond flavorful and one of my favorite dishes ever! The short rib fried rice is in my top 5. The Astoria Iced Tea is also lovely!
Overall really liked this spot. It’s not very traditional but still yum. The bun bo hue is a cleaner beef broth instead of pork and has beef toppings instead of pork kunckle and blood. It also didn’t have shrimp paste instead it was a strong lemongrass flavor. So not traditional at all but I liked it. The smoked brisket pho broth was good but the brisket was just a little too smoky for me. The viet crepe aka bun Xeo was really good they use ground pork in it and it’s very flavorful. I really liked their fish sauce it’s a sweeter one.
Best Vietnamese I Ever Had! Laughing because it’s the first time I tried Vietnamese cuisine – not sure how I missed this. The atmosphere is just gorgeous, simple and very Zen. I was comfortable immediately and the friendly staff is quite professional. My water glass never went below half way, a dropped napkin was replaced in seconds. The food is amazing – so delicious, well-seasoned and a range of dishes, all new to me. Of course, I wanted to try the pho but it was a hot summer day and didn’t want soup, but they offer a wok tossed pho which was so good. The menu has interesting selections and the variety will please all palates.
6/5 rating! Visited and ordered here over a hundred times. Food and service is so good! Food: Everything is great. For apps, their chicken wings / taro fries are 🔥. Can’t help but get them every time. For mains, can’t go wrong with the phos (District Pho, Steak & Brisket, or Meatball are my favorite). Love their Traditional Bahn Mi w/ egg too- order it for takeout a lot. Tried the Shaken Steak and Egg recently and it was great too! So many good options. Service: Consistently good. We’ve never had a problem with attentiveness, refilling waters, getting ahold of someone. The place is spacious but someone’s always walking around. Great decor and interior. It’s spacious but it’s never jam packed. Even during busy meal hours we can always find a seat when dining in. When ordering out or getting delivery, service is super fast too. Love love love District Saigon! My favorite Vietnamese spot in town.
The vietnamese food here was amazing. My favorite entree was the shaken steak & egg. I also ordered a beef pho soup as a side order for my steak which complemented my meal. We ordered their spring rolls (not shown) for appetizer which had meat, shrimp and noodles inside with fish sauce on the side. Overall, the ambiance in the restaurant was great. Great for dates or lunch/dinner with family.
Great spot for any occasion, Food was FRESH and Vibrant! Highly recommend! We got the veggie fried rice and the vegan PHO and were very happy. The PHO tasted so clean and healthy, the fried rice had flavor bursting in your mouth with every spoonful. Staff was attentive, place was clean and orderly, everyone worked insync with each other which translated back to us the customers and made us feel appreciated. Thanks guys for wonderful night!
An Unforgettable Experience. If you’re craving authentic Vietnamese cuisine that delivers on both flavor and presentation, District Saigon is the place to be. From the moment we walked in, the welcoming ambiance and delightful aromas set the tone for an incredible dining experience. We started with the fried dumplings and spring rolls, both of which were cooked to perfection. The dumplings had a crispy golden exterior and a juicy, flavorful filling that made each bite irresistible. The spring rolls were fresh, light, and paired beautifully with the tangy dipping sauce, adding a vibrant burst of flavor. Next came the fried rice with short ribs, a standout dish. The short ribs were tender and succulent, infused with a rich, savory marinade that elevated the dish. The fried rice itself was perfectly cooked, with just the right balance of seasoning and texture. But the star of the evening was the pho with oxtail. The broth was a masterpiece—rich, aromatic, and deeply satisfying. The oxtail was fall-off-the-bone tender, adding a luxurious touch to the traditional pho experience. Every spoonful felt like a warm, comforting embrace. District Saigon exceeded all expectations with its exceptional food, attentive service, and inviting atmosphere. It’s a must-visit for anyone looking to explore the best of Vietnamese cuisine. We’ll definitely be back for more!
We enjoyed our date night dinner here. I got the purple rain cocktail to give mezcal another try, but I’m still not a fan (also had to sub an ingredient due to a sensitivity and that didn’t do it any favors). I got the District Pho and my husband got pho with brisket. They were both very good but I’ll try something different next time. If you care about lighting I don’t recommend sitting at the back because the shadows are too strong and lights too focused and bright. Next time we’ll sit toward the middle where the lighting is more consistent and soft and there are colorful, pretty lanterns.
We saw great ratings for this place so expectations were high. It was also a busy restaurant with really cute decor and nice dish presentation. However, the food lacked flavor, especially the district pho we ordered. The grilled pork chop was probably the best dish, with a nice char on the meat. The thai tea was also good. The wings and taro chips were good but quite heavy and I couldn’t finish it.
I ordered pho and it was just not good. It was lacking in aromatics and depth of flavor - it really just tasted salty. The noodles were also overcooked. My sister ordered the chicken banh mi and that was also not great. The veggies were not pickled enough and overall lacking flavor. The drink was good though. Would not recommend this to someone who has had good, authentic Vietnamese food. Made stitch sad :(
I’m Vietnamese and when I eat Vietnamese food here I feel very disappointed, the meatball is really bad, just flour and it seems like there is no meat. My friend ordered vegetarian bun bo hue but it only had carrots, mushrooms, cauliflower and kale, no tofu or anything else and I feel it is not worth the price, I hope the restaurant will improve the food toppings. The staff is very friendly and take care of me, the restaurant space is comfortable and very cozy. I also work in restaurants so I understand what the food is like
