Gaia Masala & Burger Astoria Reviews
I don’t write reviews very often but this place deserves a shout out. I ordered the chicken momos yesterday and saag paneer (my fave) today, and both were a delight. The saag is a dark rich green with a wonderful consistency and the paneer was tasty. The momos were so filling and came with a delicious orange sauce. I’m glad I live nearby because I’ll be probably be back tomorrow.
We ordered drinks, appetizers and mains and everything was amazing, delicious and fresh. I loved how everything came out quick and was hot. We got the sang paneer (medium) and lamb korma (medium plus). We also ordered the garlic cheese naan and I’ve gotta say it was the best naan I’ve ever had. Super cheesy and yummy I will say they were the perfect amount of spice for us as my boyfriend enjoys spicy things the medium plus was just the right amount of heat for him. We will definitely be visiting again soon! Come by and give this spot a chance you won’t regret it
i came here after a few drinks out ! Soni was our server shes so sweet! they stay open till 3am and their food is amazing! couldnt take pics cuz i was hungry i ordered the butter chicken masala and chicken momos which was fire! they also have a happy hour drinks from 2-9pm which includes $6 cocktails and $3.50 beer!! also fun fact all their meat is halal! i will be coming back more often!
Tikka masala Jackfruit cheesestake was something very new i had not tried before. Very hearty and tasty. Masala fries were very good. Staff was very welcoming. Had the hot masala chai... perfect for the cold days and I usually don't drink Chai. Definitely will return.
Wow what a great experience. We got the fire burger, the Tikka chicken cheese steak, and the lamb burger. Everything was fantastic, the chicken on the cheese steak was very tender and the inclusion of yogurt was fantastic. The lamb burger was delicious and had great lamb flavor. The fire burger was hot but not too hot, it was perfect. The waitress even ran out after us because we forgot a sauce with our order. Service was great and very rapid, I can't wait to go back and try more of the menu!
Gaia Masala & Burgers Excellent customer service. Friendly, patient, and helpful. I love how the menu clearly marked the vegan and gluten free options. There are so many vegan options! The portions are huge. The prices are great, especially for the amount of food they give you. And the place was very clean. I was elated to see our server cleanse his hands between tasks and handling food. I ordered the Saag because Aloo Saag is my favorite dish and I haven’t had it in like forever because most places don’t make it to my liking or they don’t make it vegan. Theirs didn’t have the aloo (potatoes), but that didn’t keep it from being an amazing dish. I ordered spice level hot and it was the perfect amount of heat. Delicious dish. Habibi ordered the Chicken Cheese Masala fries, Lamb Butter Masala, and Garlic Cheese Naan. He loved his food as well. This place is open to 3am, which was extremely fortunate for us because we dined in at 2am. The menu is pretty extensive. There’s something for everyone. Be sure to check them out!
I was skeptical at first, 5 out of 5 sounds too good to be true. But this place met and exceeded all expectations. The food was all carefully prepared fresh and tasty. We enjoyed the lunch special and the value was incredible. The environment was cozy and the waitress was sweet and friendly. Look no further for delicious and authentic Indian cuisine. Highly recommend!
Very low key, hole-in-the-wall spot in Broadway-Astoria serving a new but traditional take on Nepalese-Halal food. I had the paneer pizza which was light but equally cheesy and made fresh. We also got the lamb curry and beef tikka masala burger (not pictured) which was delicious and also fresh. We were offered tasting a sample of the mango lassi which was very sweet of the host and also additional rice if we needed; service was attentive as well. I hope more people come to this spot since it’s truly a gem in the neighborhood.
Food&drink are 10/10. Service is 10/10. Atmosphere is 10/10. I recommend this spot for everyone I know in the area. I’ve been here a couple of times and they kill it every time. We ordered Paneer Masala Pizza and it’s phenomenal. The server was sooo friendly and she even got us some Mango Lassi to try. It was delish!!!
Omg the food is so good!! I’ve been searching for a decently priced Indian/Halal pizza & burger spot AND their portion sizes are huge for me. Definitely will be enjoying it at home, sharing with my loved ones, and telling everyone I know to try it. I will be back for sure. The service is also super friendly and the ambience was perfectly chill for an introvert like me.
Great new spot in town! I’ve ordered takeout twice so far, and both experiences were excellent. The first time, I tried the Chicken Masala Cheese Fries (came with a buy 1 get 1 free deal), and most recently I went with the Lamb Cheesy Masala Fries. Both were delicious, flavorful, and generously portioned. The service was just as good as the food. Definitely a place I’d recommend to others!
New restaurant in the neighborhood. We had the lamb korma, chili chicken, garlic cheese naan, and the beef pepperoni pizza. All delicious. Great to know this place is halal as beef pepperoni pizza is hard to find. This place does spicy food really well. They also offer different levels of spicy. The service was also phenomenal, friendly, and attentive.
This is a relatively casual halal food spot with a wide assortment of menu options, mostly with an Indian theme. We were seated immediately, good number of seats inside. We ordered the chili paneer, tikka masala, and the masala pizza. The paneer was super flavorful and delicious with just the right amount of spice. The tikka masala was smooth and savory. We especially enjoyed the gravy of the tikka masala with the masala pizza, which by itself was already deliciously cheesy and soft. I like that they allow you to adjust the spice level on a good number of their menu items. We had plenty of leftovers to take back home. Service was friendly and great. Hoping to stop by again very soon!
Randomly stopped in here yesterday and LOVED all the food! The chicken tikka masala ($13.99 lunch special w/ naan) was phenomenal as well as the cheese fries (didn’t try pizza). Only reason it’s not getting a 5 star is because the service was lacking, unfortunately. We were quite literally the only people in the restaurant at 11 AM yesterday and the server wasn’t attentive at all. They also had a company remove all the grease backup during our meal, and the door was open, so it got really cold and smelled weird for a while during our meal. I understand that needs to happen, but I’m curious why it was scheduled during a lunch hour. The food was so good and affordable though that I’ll totally be back to try some new things!
