Looking for the vibe that feels like a Hug from the moment you walk in? Think of them as the Asian Cheers🥂 Being in NYC for a decade Ive seen my share of bars good bad and ugly and I cannot rave enough about Rice K . No matter the day, the family energy is so friendly , festive and fun! From classes to emerse yourself into the community or karaoke to sing with fast friends I am in love and so grateful theyre a part of the best city on earth.

Rice K is by far my favorite place in Astoria. The owner and the staff are the friendliest people I’ve ever met. The food is AMAZING and the vibes are immaculate. They have so many fun events you can also participate in!! It truly feels like a community in a restaurant. SHOUTOUT TO SUE💅 I will forever and always tell people about Rice K.

I was ready to be disappointed based on reviews, but was happily surprised. I've enjoyed everything I've ordered from them. The team's care for guests is truly extraordinary. Each bite created a moment of pure contentment. Other customers' comments reflect true quality.

I really enjoy this spot. I think the vibes are good, the food is pretty good, and the staff are all very friendly and attentive. That being said, I dont notice a ton of business when i go here and that worries me a bit. It's such a great place with lots of space/tables and good vibes. I would love to see this spot last and thrive. Some constructive feedback: Overall the menu items are pretty good, but it speaks less asian fusion and more like 'mid tier or americanized versions of every asian cuisine.' If someone wants thai, they will go to one of the many restaurants that do exclusively thai on ditmars/23rd. If someone wants sushi, they are more likely to go one of the many other sushi spots that specialize in sushi close by (watawa, tokyo ya, sakura ). People dont want many things done okay, they want a few things done really authentic and really well As a result, i think this spot should hone in on 1 niche and do it really well. Here are some ideas/example of niches that i think would differentiate between other restaurants in the ditmars area. Omakase: - The bar space would be wonderful for a psuedo omakase bar. In general, ditmars has no high quality sushi. Watawa is the nicest, but its more about vibes than high quality fish. Offer a simple but delicious omakase experience for a reasonable price ($60-$100 pp). I call it a "Sleeper omakase" spot. A great restaurant that you wouldnt expect to have a yummy affordable omakase. Offer simple courses like otoro and chutoro, torched salmon, sea bream, red snapper. You could even offer several piece of the same course to reduce costs and labor. Try offering it 1x/2x per week to start Japanese izakaya bar: Mochiron on ditmars would be similar, but they are more of a restauraunt ramen spot with izakaya. You would differentiate by making an authentic izakaya bar experience (instead of a restaurant that just serves izakaya style foods), this would be especially nice with the large windows this spot has and really turn this spot into a great hangout. Curating a super fun, casual relaxing izakaya with all the delicious snacks and bites that go along with it would really make this spot insanely good! Korean: There are no korean spots in the ditmars area. Mokja and KAL and further south and are more traditional sit down korean restaurants. You could differentiate yourself by offering an authentic korean bar/pocha/sujip experience. With korean fried chicken, spicy tkobboki, cheesey kimchi pancake, serving up makgeolli, beer towers, Somaek etc I think it will be really important to pivot and lean into some specific niche and do it really well. Relying on events to get folks in the door isn't going to cut it long term. I know that leases are typically 10 years, and this spot opened in 2016. Dont just ride out the remainder of the lease, the potential here is too good. The space here is beautiful and the outdoor/sidewalk seating is delightful, the staff is great. There is a foundation here for a truly amazing hangout spot that astoria (esp in the ditmars area) desperately needs.

If you're looking for excellent food, great service, and fun vibes, this is THE place to come to. My wife and I keep finding ourselves coming back to Rice K simply because there aren't many spots left that have so many positives. All of the staff and particularly the owner, Xiu, are all very professional and accommodating. They really seem to care about making you feel at home. And if you're feeling adventurous and would like to test your pipes, there's karaoke night every Saturday as well, so make sure to bring your friends! If you're in the area or even if you're not, this place is a MUST! We highly recommend it!

I’ve been coming here for the past 2-3 years, it’s my fave spot to just chill and have some drinks. The food is great! I recommend the Hibachi. The sushi is fresh. The vibes and music is awesome. They have a DJ on Friday’s and he’s incredible. Plays everything. The drinks are delicious. Overall 100/10

Love this place! I had such a great experience picking up takeout here! Simrika was so helpful with my special order and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. On my way out, I met Sue, the owner, and she was so incredibly kind. The whole team here is just wonderful! And a great crowd.People were having such a great time singing karaoke while I was picking up my food, the energy was amazing. Not to mention, everything was delicious, I’m so happy to have this spot just a block away!

Please come here!! I haven’t even finished eating my food and felt so compelled to write a good review. Staff was kind and got my food to me ASAP. The quality of the food is too good for the amount of business I saw in here! If you want high quality, delicious Chinese/Japanese food this is the spot. Decor is really pretty which is a bonus but I got takeout so I didn’t get to fully enjoy the experience. Definitely 1000% will be back :)

Chinese & Japanese American style fare. Sesame seed chicken, teriyaki chicken and boneless spareribs were just a few main courses. All delish and on a higher tier of quality. All of the appetizers were really good also. The customer service is bar none and elevates this spot to a must go. We recommend and will go again if in the area.

Rice K is my go-to place for Asian/Chinese food delivery. Veggie Spring rolls are amazing. The General Tso Chicken or Tofu is crispy, medium spicy and delicious. The banana tempura with ice cream is a yummy sweet dessert. This is my favorite takeout spot in Astoria. Picture is from delivery.

Great food. Great staff. Awesome music. This is truly one of the best restaurants in Queens. The food is always tops. The vibe is always chill. You have to go just to see Amy. She's the best! I need to start going more. Prices of food is average for Astoria. Check out their entertainment schedule. There is usually great live music. Thanks Amy for the great time. See you soon!

First off, don’t get the General Tso’s chicken or Chicken with Brocolli. Sure, it might look appetizing from the photos they have online, but it wasn’t good at all. I’ll say the miso black cod was decent and also the truffle steak appetizer. Apart from that, the atmosphere wasn’t the best (it’s always been really dim but I didn’t realize how dim it was until I went inside) and also the high chairs aren’t really the best height for people under 5’10. Felt really low from the table. The servers weren’t really as welcoming as I’d hope either. UPDATE: Hello, I expected them to at least say hello back when I said hello and respond back with some courtesy when I said how are you. At the very least… I have no reason to lie and I am telling the truth. You’re right, I could’ve asked for a better seat, but I didn’t. I reviewed the restaurant based on my initial seating. To switch seats is somewhat of an inconvenience when you’re already situated at your table. Also, I actually got those dishes because they were your top sellers… so if I will elaborate further, the chicken & broccoli tasted of the same quality as something you’d get from Dragon & Phoenix on Ditmars Blvd. which is primarily a takeout place. Very soft, lacking structure, and just off putting with every bite. The General Tso’s chicken had too much batter as well, with some bites feeling too soggy and mushy. I’ve lived in Astoria for more than 25 years, and have passed by your restaurant very often and wondered if it was a good place to eat. I’m here to tell you it wasn’t the best. Yesterday was Friday, which wasn’t a weekend. You claim it’s supposed to be a weekend vibe, but it wasn’t even the weekend. I suppose you might not like my review but it’s an honest one. Have a good rest of your day!

Ordered this meal based on pictures on ubereats for this restaurant and their Google photos. Look at the comparison of both photos. This is not what I ordered. If you’re ordering sweet and sour chicken be aware of what you’ll be getting!!!

My fiance and I went here because we were like sushi why not ! We both wanted the beef teriyaki bento box and it was really good . All went down the drain when the owner came up to us an asked how was the steak not how was the food ! Moving forward we’re driving home a both our stomachs are in pain and the rest well you know ! Moral of story is clearly the steak wasn’t fresh ! And now we wasted 40 bucks on food we couldn’t even truly enjoy
