Bender is a gem, a fantastic dive bar with incredible staff and amazing food. The prices beat out most comparable places in the area as well. I would recommend dropping by in general, but it's also a perfect spot for a chill casual night with some friends or for a date. You can also catch a game of pool here, or even play their numerous pinball machines.

Great space when the pool table is open. There is always a movie on at the bar which is entertaining. Food is served quickly, never cold.

First visit here despite living 1 min around the corner. Came in with zero expectations based on the reviews and have been thoroughly impressed. Our bartender, Lloyd, had incredible energy when we first arrived. We heard he can be a tough cookie but that seems like if you have an issue that’s a “you problem” (just be kinder). Ordered a spread of mini corn dogs, fried pickles (chips not spears), and waffle fries. Everything was perfect and a step above lackluster bar food. Free pool on Mondays (use the green table, not the blue, you’ll thank me later) so that was a happy surprise. All in all I’ll definitely be back for their happy hour (ends at 7p) and maybe an arcade game next time!

I love Bender! Been coming here for years. Bender has consistently been a great go-to for good drinks & great food. They have a standard bar-style menu (burgers/fries/wings), with a few gourmet-ish options sprinkled in, and some vegetarian options. There's even a "chef-inspired off-menu" type of menu now. Everything I've tried has been decent. Always a good meeting spot, especially for larger groups. It has lots of outdoor space, a big arcade / game room area, and a chill vibe overall. It doesn't seem nearly as large as it actually is when viewed from the outside, but it's definitely worth checking out if you aren't already familiar with it!

This is still kinda like a dive bar. Lots of regulars. Some really, really good bar food for bar food, not fine dining. Bartenders are attentive! I like 90's 2000's music that is usually played. Some regular patrons can be friendly

Have been before it's good the wings are 5 for 12.99 a tab over priced in my opinion but are good a lil over seasoned with dry rub the rattlesnake sauce was the best if u like spicy.Fries hit really enjoyed my lemon drop Martini. Love the diverse music and the many different varieties of entertainment on the televisions.

Just stopped in for a quick burger before a concert at Circuits of America. Seemed like a fun place with a fun atmosphere. I wouldn't recommend it for a quick stop. Take some time to enjoy the atmosphere, the food and service were good but it's definitely a place to go to social and enjoy the space and company.

2nd time going here, and even though I never rate and review this early on new places for me. I felt I had to. 3 things: they have a live juke box(rare to find now) with a great selection, a very good vibe, and fairly priced drinks. Update 21’: I’m proud to say, I’ve gone here at least one more time since then. And just as I felt about it back then leaving. I feel just the same now whenever I leave. That’s special.

Benders is the opidamy of a "local Austin dive bar". It's owned by two bartenders who own other successful similarly themed bars around Austin. Cheap drinks, great beer and liquor selections, and most importantly supurb service. Great job guys keep it up!!!

The Austin burger was incredible. Instead of fries you can get a spinach salad with goat cheese and bacon, uh yeah! Nice selection of local breweries (e.g. Strange Land, Austin Beer Works, Thirsty Planet). Sportsball on one TV and LOTR on the other, gotta love it. Music mix of metal and country, something for everyone. Servers friendly and helpful. Pulling up/walking in, you'll see it's dark and divey. Don't let that stop you. 🍻

Hard to get someone on the phone..show up, only 6 people in the building..3 of them employees..Ordered 15 wings and fries and 1 beer. $50. No problem, ill check my food before I head home..bag tied into a tight knot..no worries I love this place, surely it's all there..and it was.. but celery was old and translucent...Bleu cheese tasted like water and fries were rock hard.. OK not worth $50 anymore.. Used to be my go to spot for food..huge bummer...I'll try again next time.

A good neighborhood bar. Had the wings and fries. Folks raved about their wings which is why I went to check it out. They were good and meaty but nothing outstanding. Just good solid bar food. Their only option on the menu for the wings is an order of 5 for $7.99. Too small of a portion for their menu. You can order an additional 5 for $6 more. So 10 wings for $14 is a bit on the pricey side for a neighborhood bar IMO. They do have a special on wings on Tuesday that might be worth a visit, but I wouldn't go back on a normally priced day. Fries were over cooked too. Staff was really cool though and the place had a good vibe. Outside patio in the back was nice too.

Case Report: My girl and I visited Bender Bar for the first time. Upon arrival, security was polite and welcoming. Once inside, we waited a bit before the bartenders acknowledged us, but service picked up afterward. We ordered drinks and headed to the patio, where we purchased several songs on the jukebox — including tracks by Future, Jeremih, and Snoop Dogg. Later, we bought four more hip-hop songs, enjoying about 14 total before calling it a night. The next day, I checked the TouchTunes app and noticed that every song we played — along with a large portion of the hip-hop catalog — had been removed from Bender’s playlist. It appears Bender Bar now leans heavily toward alternative genres while filtering out hip-hop. “Bender, please explain why hip-hop isn’t welcome on your jukebox.” Rating: ⭐ Final Note: “Hip-hop’s is not safe here— this bar fails the inspection. 🎤” #HipHopPolice #TouchTunesWatch

Don’t come here. They will end your song on touch tunes if they don’t like it. Absolutely disgusting…I understand having a vibe…then don’t allow free autonomy of music with touch tunes. I lost money because of this.
