What a great stop! They had plenty of TVs for sports and a pool table. Most importantly cold beer!!! The bartender "Victoria" was super friendly and even gave us koozies for our beers. :)

One of the last of the old Austin dive bars that hasn't been flattened to make way for condos. Yet. Go enjoy this rare gem while it still exists, but don't tell all of your friends. Great place to be low key, enjoy a few beers (even some local beers!) and probably one of the best CD jukeboxes on the planet. This is The Home Of Happiness.

This place is a neighborhood staple. Friendly bartenders and fun patrons. The new ownership has made awesome upgrades over the last year. The live music lineup is fantastic. Visit as a stranger and leave as a regular.

It's got a great hole-in-the-wall honky-tonk vibe with a great beer snd cocktails selection, fantastic outdoor patio with music from inside piped in, fantastic live music acts, a food truck out front and occassional special events that are fun to attend! Plus, the owners are just great!

It was my first time there but so amazing. I will be recommending it to my friends. They atmosphere is great you feel so welcomed when you walk in the Bartender was so amazing they came by before I even got empty. I love this place

Went the open mic on Thursday, had a blast play some drums wife Marcie brought her conga and assorted other noisemakers and we had a blast man we're definitely going back.

When you read all the reviews about this place being friendly, ya gotta go and see for yourself. I can confirm this is one of the friendliest bars in town. We did a random drop-in for a drink and stayed for hours. Bartenders are great, patrons are great. Cool lil dive bar. We'll be back

Went to open mic night . They have it every Thursday. I sat in on the drums with some amazing musicians. Had a great time! The service was excellent. Thank you to Victoria for being a great bar tender. No food, but the best dive bar in Austin! Love it!!! I'll be back again for sure.

The last true dive bar! My boyfriend and I went, on Tuesday, to a new Texas two-step class that is being held there. We only had soft drinks but the bar itself has so much charm and the bartender was a sweetheart. The dance instructor, whose name is Russ, was so much fun to learn with. Very casual and very laid back. They have darts, slots and live music to enjoy after a certain time. Very chill, fun vibes, if you want a quick drink or if you want a new watering hole without a lot of fuss or nonsense. Good service, good vibe, great new dancing!

What a great little dive bar. Really friendly patrons and good musicians on the night I went. At 43, I was probably one of the youngest in the bar at the time I was there. But that is awesome. I hear they do a fish fry and other events. I will be back.

Possibly North Austin’s friendliest dive bar, Buddy’s Place mixes traditional bar entertainment with good drinks and a fun atmosphere. Getting to Buddy’s is easy as they have a designated parking area out back. Once parked you’re greeted by their patio area where there is a door for entry into the main bar. They are dog friendly, a very big plus considering most don’t allow dogs at all. The bar itself is a bit divey with a domino and pool tables setup in the main area. The patrons are all very welcoming as are the workers, it definitely gives you a warm feeling to be there. We ordered 3 mixed drinks, which were all solid and the total came out to $18. Can’t beat that price up north. One of the biggest highlights was the live music in the back. They have live music consistently throughout the week so you can always catch a performance. It is very easy to pass time in this bar between the music, games, and just good company overall. We didn’t have a neighborhood bar yet but this place might just be the answer to that (a lot of that has to do with how comfortable the patrons and workers make you feel).
