genuinely could not of been more happy with our experience at bartlett’s! came for our anniversary and had great service from the start. our food was perfect across the board, with everything being cooked to perfection. we were specifically impressed with the quality of the steak and prime rib! will for sure be back for our next celebration or maybe just when we are craving some steak!

Bartlett’s is a long time go to for date night. The food is reliably excellent and the service is great. Their steak chimichurri sandwich is always a winner and if you get the pork chop, a double cut is always a great idea. They don’t always have it on the menu but their sundae with chocolate sauce is a must. Highly recommended!

Truly one of the best restaurants in Austin! Drinks, ambience, and food are all 10 star level. I had the Grill chicken salad with Field greens, cilantro, roasted peanuts, tortilla strips, honey-lime vinaigrette, peanut sauce. My personal favorite. Wife and sister had the filet and ribeye cooked to perfection! We live out of town so each time we come Austin it’s a must visit to Bartlett’s

We’ve lived near Bartlett’s for 10 years and this was the first time we visited. I’m kicking myself on why I waited this long! It is old school steakhouse vibe with dark ambience and cute booths. Their dinner reservations are slightly hard to come by so I’m glad we were able to get in. The dirty martini I got was incredible. They listened to what I wanted and made the drink exactly that way. The grilled artichoke was delicious albeit small. As with any artichoke, there isn’t much to eat but the flavor was really good. The traditional salad I got was really good; it needed a tiny bit more dressing. Still, the champagne vinaigrette I assume was made in house and it was perfectly balanced. The steaks were amazing. Hubby ordered a 8 oz filet but they brought him a 5 oz. They immediately fixed it for him and didn’t even charge us for the 8 oz! The customer service is impeccable. Dessert was the star of the show. The hot fudge in the hot fudge sundae was homemade, thick, luscious… we were all scooping the last remnants out of the silver gravy boat! The key lime pie is worth the $. The crust is not a cheapy graham cracker but a toasty, nutty pecan crust. My kids brought home leftovers and forgot about them so lucky for me, I get to still enjoy it! I absolutely cannot wait to come back to Bartlett’s. I gotta make up for the past 10 years of missing this place!

Came here with family and friends for a dinner during the cold weather and we had a pleasant time. Service was great, very attentive and kind. The atmosphere was very nice and easy to talk in and the lights were dimmed. The food was solid. Between us we tried a number of entrees, sides, and desserts. Everything was tasty at a minimum but some dishes were better than others. Overall, a nice choice for dinner. Very cozy vibes and solid food with a pretty wide range of options. 🍽️

I recently visited Bartlett's for a nice dinner out, and overall, it was a very positive experience with just a few quirks that kept it from being perfect. First off, the logistics were flawless. I had a reservation and was seated almost the moment I walked through the door. The restaurant itself felt very high-end and clean without feeling stuffy or uncomfortable. It sets a great tone for the evening. The 100-hour marinated steak. It was absolutely incredible. I ordered it medium rare, and the kitchen cooked it to absolute perfection. It had a great sear, was incredibly tender, and was seasoned just right. If you are coming here strictly for the meat, you are going to be very happy. However, the sides were a bit disappointing. For a restaurant of this caliber, these were honestly just okay. They lacked that rich, creamy "wow" factor I expect at a high-end steakhouse. To be blunt, they were kinda mid. Also, the meal came with a tomato and grilled cheese side that felt... very random? It tasted fine, but it was a strange pairing with a high-end steak dinner and didn't really fit the vibe of the rest of the plate. The food quality is high, but be aware that the portion sizes are on the smaller side, especially considering the price point. You are definitely paying a premium for the atmosphere and the quality of the beef, but don't expect massive overflowing platters.

We tried Bartlett's for the first time on Saturday! We had a reservation for 4:30 in the afternoon. I do recommend getting a reservation because even at this early time, the restaurant was almost completely full. They don't have a ton of parking but there's more in the shopping center behind the bushes of the Bartlett's lot. The restaurant is pretty dark so it feels fancy and romantic. We were happy to be seated near a window up a few steps so that we had a little more light. Our food came pretty quickly and everything was delicious and was generous portions. We even asked for bread and butter, which wasn't on the menu, and they brought us some! Our waiter seemed like he was pretending to be happy and was more robotic than conversational, but still nice. It was overall a nice time and seems to be one of the more affordable steakhouses in the Austin area.

Peace And Tranquility

My husband and I recently went to Bartletts. I must say off the top, the food was mediocre and pricey! . Our initial female server that came to ask us about drinks was actually rather rude, slamming things on the table ( the ticket or some type of paper, drinks and appetizer plates). We were so relieved when we learned that she would not be our server. Our actual male server was pleasant! The atmosphere was warm. I ordered a half rack of ribs with garlic mashed potatoes. The ribs were dry and I didn’t enjoy them. They looked like mini ribs with some bbq sauce flung and cooked on them. Not to my liking at all. The food is pretty pricey so I doubt that we’d go back because we don’t have money to waste to pay for mediocre food with a warm and comfy atmosphere. We would prefer to have both!

Heard a lot about this place and wanted to give it a try. It's always mentioned in best chicken tenders in Austin, in addition to excellent steaks and generally high quality food. The good: - waiter was superb and very affable, made me feel very comfortable and encouraged feedback. - when I had issues with my food they worked to correct them and didn't hassle me about it. - manager checked in more than once - well trained general and support staff - some of the food I sent back, when it came back, was delicious The bad: - this place is nice, and it's pricy. The food should be the highlight and it absolutely was not. - broccoli was chewing wood chips when it first came out. When I asked it to be properly cooked it came back perfect, however, so props there. - the chicken tenders were a mixed bag. I had three that were wonderful and then two that were soggy like they'd been put in plastic after frying (see pictures). - dessert was way too expensive for what it was, and if I'm paying $15 for a small slice of cheesecake the texture needs to be better, not on the acceptable half of overdone. - even for weekday lunch the place was packed, so wait times can be long -- The chef came out and was very responsive when I explained the issue and did agree that the tenders being so soggy and the broccoli so hard was not acceptable, and I appreciated the chance to talk to him. Everyone has good and bad days, and they let me down today. I'd love to come back and give them another try if they think they could up their game and wow me. But I'm guessing with all their business they're not very bothered at the moment. I'll update if I hear/go back

Applebee's for rich people The girlfriend and I go out to eat a couple times a week. We wanted to go to a higher end restaurant for her birthday, something we do once or twice a year Beef tartare was good. Got 2 slivers of anchovies i guess that's normal? Biggest disappointment was the steaks. We got the most expensive ones they had on the menu. When served, both were medium well, not medium rare liked we ask. There were little other no juices and blood, both were tough and not tender. We asked to send them back. The 2nd round, gfs was better, mine was more of the same. Yes mine had more pink/red in it, but again tough as nails with okay flavor. Gfs steak was tender and had good texture, still little to no juices or blood Ordered 3 drinks between us. This was my first time visiting Bartlett’s, and I was genuinely excited to try it after hearing good things. We ordered steak, kids’ meals, and the French dip sandwich—food-wise, everything was fine and met expectations. Unfortunately, the service issue completely overshadowed the experience. My raspberry lemonade arrived with a fly/bug in it. When I brought it to our server, Preston, there was no acknowledgment of how unpleasant or unsanitary that was. He simply took the drink away, acted like it wasn’t a big deal, that was it— no comfort/hospitality check in. Probably mixed in the ice, but still… I wasn’t looking for a discount, a free item, or any kind of compensation. What I was expecting was basic hospitality: an apology, reassurance, or even a small gesture of accountability. The drink wasn’t even removed from the bill, which was disappointing and avoidable. Bartlett’s has the potential to be great, but moments like this are where service really matters. A little care, professionalism, and empathy would have gone a long way and completely changed how I felt leaving the restaurant.

First time visit at Bartlett's with my family. Started off strong with great chili cheese fries and the french dip. Went way down hill when halfway through, we wipe some dressing away on our Club Salad and see we have raw chicken. This stopped all eating immediately. We know things can happen, so we did not get mad. The lack of care from our server was the biggest disappointment. Empathy and serious apologies can go a long way. We got, "Oh, okay, do you want another one?" Actually, we prefer more understanding that although this is not your fault personally, you get that eating raw chicken is dangerous to anyone's health. It also tends to kill the appetite in the moment (we did not eat anything else). Thus, the only other thing said to us with almost full plates of food on the table being "Do you want dessert?," was less than ideal. We paid over $100 for this experience, which seems like a waste. We will not be returning and unfortunately, cannot recommend this restaurant.
