Was staying nearby for a work offsite and I'm so happy I found this place. Lovely welcoming vibe, especially from the person behind the counter who was so friendly and kind. I'm mad I forgot her name bc I want to call her out for being awesome. The vegan bfast burrito is scrumptious, as is the coconut assam tea. Will come back every time I'm in Austin.

Great neighbourhood hangout spot. This was my first visit to the newly relocated Cenote on E. 7th St in downtown and a thoroughly enjoyable one. Bright and joyful decor and wall art coupled with friendly service, robust and flavourful coffee and healthy food selection. I had the avocado toast and a whole milk latte. Had to come back for a second cup. Only a small 15 minute parking lot in the back but plenty of cheap metered street parking on surrounding side streets off of E. 7th. Spacious multiple patios and pet friendly. Recommended!

I’ve loved coming here for matcha for years. I’m posting a throwback picture from 2020 because, honestly, the color and richness of the matcha back then were so vibrant. Since reopening, the matcha has been a lot lighter and less intense than I remember. Hope they get back to their old quality soon.

Weird encounter upfront but weird isn't bad.. Anyway, glad we visited this spot because it was a great experience.. already planning our next visit.. The half sammy/half salad was amazing.. opted for turkey avocado sammy and kale salad.. everything was nice & fresh! Paired that with a simple cappuccino, although my cappuccino art was a bit combabulated, it was still delicious! My bf got the avocado toast.. wishing he had an option for salad because the basic side salad was just ok.. he would have preferred the kale salad instead.. he got some drinks with cold brew and whiskey.. forgot the name but he said it was good as well.. Will definitely be back for sure....

I have always loved this sacred East Austin treasure for its atmosphere alone. The new location is beautiful and colorful with local artwork and a large patio outdoor space and parking in the back. Food is super fresh, lots of healthy options. I love to come and work here for a few hours every week. 🙌🏻

I ordered a lavender vanilla cortado and it was delicious. Smooth, rich espresso, creamy texture, and the perfect hint of sweetness. So well balanced. The barista and staff were very friendly and helpful. I also had the chilaquiles, which was well executed. Crisp tortillas, flavorful sauce, and perfectly cooked fried eggs. Such a cute spot with both indoor and outdoor seating, perfect for a relaxed brunch or coffee.

New location delivers same great Cenote experience ❤️ Cenote will always hold a special place in my heart as the first meal I had in Austin when I moved here in 2016. The breakfast burrito was huge and delish and the mango salad with the well cooked and seasoned tofu was yummy! Prices are fair for Austin. It's my new go to recently for a breakfast without a long wait!

Love this place for their great coffee menu in a rambling green house. Lovely shaded patio and several tables inside. Their iced chai is great. Looking forward to seeing their new location, though sad they're moving from this house. Free and paid street parking nearby.

We had Sunday brunch here and can't wait to come back. Where to start...the atmosphere, employees, or food? Cenote is in a beautifully restored property with ambiance galore. Indoor and outdoor seating is available and there was hardly a wait for seating at 10:30. The employees were attentive to our needs and were happy to make suggestions about menu items. The barista was finishing our drink orders as we completed our transaction at the register. Then the food started arriving to our table. The chips, salsa and guacamole were fresh and homemade. The bacon empanada hit every savory note and the guasacaca sauce was a fantastic compliment. Everything about the OMG breakfast was delicious...eggs, breakfast potatoes, sausage, bacon, French toast and a biscuit, definitely big enough to share!!! We subbed fries for the side with our carnitas tacos and once again another winning plate. The tacos were built with cilantro, onion and salsa on top of some of the best carnitas in Austin. The fries, skin on but cut and fried in a unique way then seasoned just right with what I am assuming is a special blend. Oh and let me tell you about their breakfast tacos, they're stuffed, fresh made and delectable. The 50/50 tortilla complimented our 2 filling choices of homefried potatoes, egg and cheese and bacon, egg and cheese and the salsa was the perfect finishing touch to them. Overall there was not a single bad bite had amongst the 4 of us and all we could do on the ride home was discuss how blown away we were by a place we've driven by so many times for other dining options. Do yourself a favor and choose Cenote as your place to dine.

Great spot to order coffee to go or stay and eat. The space has ample seating both inside and outside and the food portions are good. I get the vegan taco and it's so big I have to eat some of the ingredients before I can roll it up. We also like the pancakes...so fluffy!

Definitely a cool brunch spot to visit when you’re in Austin. The place has a nice vibe and quite the selection for coffee, food and drinks. Me and my friends enjoyed our brunch. The salmon salad was really good make sure to order the Apple Butter pancakes because it was really amazing! The biscuit that came with my order was really good too. Highly recommend this place! Great service and nice staff as well.

Nice place for quick “Austin-y” breakfast. More for tourists than locals. Decaf Americano tasted like water. That could use some improvement. Also, the person taking our order didn’t know what kind of beer was on tap (there was only one) and what the difference is between Chilaquiles and Migas. They had some delicious pistachio shortbread cookies from Texas French Bread though.

Cenote is a charming coffee shop and café set in a historic wooden building from 1887, giving it a distinct character and atmosphere. The old structure adds to its uniqueness, but it also comes with a noticeable aged scent, which might not be for everyone. The menu offers a great selection of food, coffee, beer, and wine. We tried the avocado toast, which was fresh and well-prepared. The large patio with a stage suggests they host live performances, adding to the café’s potential as an evening spot. While the space has its own vibe, it felt like something was missing for true coziness. Maybe it was the time of day we visited, but the place didn’t feel as lively or full as it could have been, making it seem less inviting. Still, it’s a nice spot with good offerings, worth checking out if you’re in the area.

First time visiting on a Monday morning. It wasn't too busy but still bustling for a Monday. Outdoor seating is nice with lots of shade and big fans. There are no issues with flies. You order at the counter, and they bring the food to you, no waiter service. The food was pretty tasty. We tried the Hatch burger w fries, traditional American breakfast, vegan tacos, tortilla soup, and avocado toast. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The vegan tacos were so stuffed that they needed a second tortilla. We also ordered chai tea, matcha, lemonade, and a coffee. The total bill was around $65. Overall, we'd eat here again, but I'm not sure it would be worth a long wait. I understand now why reviews state not to walk around the area. It was a bit sketchy and parking was difficult. No kids' meals either, which is why I deducted a star. I don't see any reason not to offer some sort of kid option, considering they even have a small "kid" play area.

My sandwich and salad tasted good, but it wasn’t anything exceptional. I really liked that I had the option to combine my sandwich with a salad because I was able to taste both. I also got a cookie, but it wasn’t that good, it broke extremely easily and was a bit brittle. The chai was okay, normal. The ambience was cute though, and I really enjoyed the seating options they had. They had both indoor and outdoor seating which was great, especially if you have dogs. The food was good and I recommend for a brisk lunch date! The service was amazing, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful when I needed assistance with the menu.

Came in to try it out, enjoy some coffee, and sit with my boyfriend. We spent $50 and found a seat to hang out. We boxed up our food and were planning to finish our coffee and play the game on the table before we were asked to move so other customers could enjoy the seats we chose. It honestly made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable, especially having a group standing behind the employee watching while I was being asked to move for them. I wouldn’t come back just based on that experience.

Terrible experience. Ordered for pickup and there was zero system. We waited 30 minutes after our pickup time, having asked the workers on 4 different occasions where our order was, we got the same answer “I’ll ask the kitchen” with no update. Got to the point where I had to stop someone and demand an update, he then goes to the kitchen and probably took someone else’s order and gave it to us. When we checked the order it was all wrong and had missing items. He then went to the kitchen and added all the missing items in little to-go containers, some of which were missing items for a breakfast burrito, like avocado. The container given to us also only had a few thin slices of avocado, which was a $2 extra add on. I live right down the road from this place, and will not be going back
