Corner Restaurant Austin Reviews
This was hands down one of the most memorable meals I’ve had. The cocktails were fantastic, and our server couldn’t have been better—attentive, friendly, and on point all night. It was the perfect stop before heading to the Tame Impala show. The spicy cornbread was an unexpected highlight, and both the Texas red snapper and Baja shrimp tacos were packed with flavor. Everything came together flawlessly, from the food to the service. An all-around exceptional experience.
We came here for brunch while visiting Austin and had a great experience. Our server, Jose, was incredibly attentive and made sure we were taken care of the entire time. One thing that really stood out was the effort he put into making sure we still got the drink we wanted. We had asked about the frozen horchata, but they didn’t have the equipment set up to make it the traditional way. Instead of just saying it wasn’t available, Jose worked with his manager, Tim, to create something similar for us. It wasn’t exactly the classic frozen horchata, but it was still really good, and we really appreciated the extra effort they put in to make something work for us. For food, we ordered the chicken and waffles, and I can honestly say it was the best chicken and waffles I’ve ever had. The chicken was perfectly crispy and flavorful, and the whole dish was just excellent. Great service, great food, and a team that clearly cares about the customer experience. Huge shoutout to Jose and Tim for going above and beyond. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Austin!
I went here on my trip to Austin with my girlfriend. And I must say the food here was delicious along with our fantastic waitress Kenzie! She was amazing to talk to and really educated on the restaurants menu a while being a breath of fresh air to speak to! The dessert is a must try!!!
I had such an amazing experience while catching a late night bite. I came back to the restaurant 3 times before I left Austin. The vibe, energy and customer service was great. Everyone was down to earth, personable and welcoming. Kudos to all the staff throughout my stay. •Carmine •Kelsey •Gary •Brandon •Stephanie
We stopped in for drinks and a few bites and had such a great experience, largely thanks to our amazing server, Jose. He was friendly, attentive, and gave excellent recommendations. Jose suggested the steak bites, and they were absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. He also recommended the spicy watermelon margarita, which was honestly to die for. It had the perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and refreshing. Jose really made the experience special with his great service and spot-on suggestions. If you visit, definitely ask for him and try the steak bites and that margarita—you won’t regret it! 🌶🍉🍹
my boyfriend made us reservations before we saw a show at the ACL live moody theater and our experience was so incredible! the service was so on point and the food was delicious. we were on the fence when it came to ordering dessert but thanks to francesco and junior we enjoyed a brownie à la mode on the house! 5/5 experience and we will definitely be returning!!!
A nice restaurant located in Marriott opens until late night. The atmosphere was cozy and upscale, with attentive service that didn’t feel rushed. I chose the wagyu beef burger, which was juicy, rich, and cooked perfectly, paired with a surprisingly refreshing jellyfish IPA that added a unique twist to the meal. BTW, This place accepts apple pay, nice place to stop by. Overall, it was a satisfying late-night dining experience that felt both indulgent and comfortable.
We arrived in town too early even for early check-in at our hotel. Corner restaurant was a great place to hang out to spend the hour while we waited. We sat out-of-the-way and our server was cool about it as it was not a particularly busy time of day. The food was good and they served delicious mocktails. The people watching and weather was perfection.
Went to Corner restaurant for lunch with my wife. Sat outside to enjoy the weather and had the best service from Chris at the bar. He was very attentive, gave great recommendations as well with great side conversations to keep lunch lively. We will for certain come back, and if at the bar outside go see Chris.
This restaurant is in a hotel. But it is not a a “hotel restaurant.” Personal and expert service. Massively fresh ingredient cocktails minus the attitude. Attentive manager (Bree) both supporting and seeing roadblocks and surges in orders at bar. Amazing and friendly waitress named Miya. And I really enjoyed watching the show in the open kitchen. Expeditors that take food temperature and timing personally. Assertive but human communication. Team work. Urgency. Detail oriented. Flat iron steak, espresso martiniis, old fashioned and their signature Mule stood out. We will be back. Often.
It’s our first time in Austin, we got an Uber to our hotel @ the Marriot and during check in, spotted this restaurant through the lobby. It was slightly after lunch time, we walked in with our luggage still in hand and got seated right away by a hostess, and was soon met by our server Adrian. We asked for his favorite recommendations and they were spot on! The cornbread skillet, old-fashioned Wagyu burger, short-rib taquitos and the brownie melt to top it all off, all spectacular and delicious. I saw photos of the shrimp and grits and asked about it, Adrian said unfortunately it’s only served on the dinner menu. I already made reservations for tonight so I can try that out! Thanks Adrian!
Came here on a whim after looking for restaurants in the area with good reviews. Service was excellent & what stood out the most. Tried the brunch burger & wife had the burrito. Good portions & left feeling satiated. Food was yummy & got the job done. A little on the pricier side for what it was, but the upscale atmosphere & service explains why!
Great location and venue overall, service was unbelievably slow saw a few groups sit and leave during our brunch, luckily we were in no way in a rush but it was still frustratingly slow. Food was amazing, shrimp and grits are a must, breakfast burger was awesome as well. $70+tip for 2 person brunch with coffee, no alcohol. Location and vibe was highly on point, lots of people watching and relaxing atmosphere. Would definitely go again if had time to burn.
Food was great I ordered the chipotle chilaquiles loved the spice balance and combination of flavors. We also ordered steak and eggs which comes with Tartar sauce and potatoes, which is 10 out of 10! Yeah, atmosphere is very calming and nice to look at 👍🏼
So I was hoping for a lot more out of this restaurant the pork Carnitas are mostly meat and not very creative and the chicken chili look good and they said it had great flavor - the taquitos were dry and the menu looks fantastic but overall I was unimpressed
Eating breakfast here has been my best dining experience in Austin yet, and I have had some great ones. I split the bacon and eggs benny as well as Greek yogurt parfait with a friend, and it was so tasty. I also liked that the restaurant had nice music but it was quiet enough to easily hear conversation. Maya was our server and she was delightful- very attentive but not obtrusive. She was very friendly. I loved my experience here.
I ordered to go. They don’t use uber eats or DoorDash which is good because those apps suck. You can still order online; I did it real simply through google. They did allow me to order alcohol but then I couldn’t take it to go. Which makes sense but weird that it was an option on the to go order system. It didn’t seem like all of their menu was available to go, which was unfortunate. Food was very yummy.
Weekend getaway in Austin, stayed at another hotel but went here for dinner. Ambience - cool modern vibe, a but dark, but modern. The outside bar on the corner is very good for an afternoon drink., but is usually very crowded. The inside bar stools are horrid…padding is shot, you literally sink down and are resting on the square edges of the seat. The interior bar area is also very loud and echoing, when combined with the music the overall noise level is fairly high, making conversation difficult unless you are sitting right next to someone. Service - we had reservations through Open Table, but the hostess couldn’t find it. (I later got a message from Open Table saying we didn’t show up…really?). We chose to sit at the bar, our preference. We were quickly given water, and asked if we wanted to order a drink, we asked for both a drink and food menu, service went downhill after that. Lots of bartenders on the very large bar, but had to flag someone down for everything we wanted after that. Ordered a glass of wine and a beer and food. The wine pour size was large. Ordered the Green chili chicken enchiladas and “Elot” street corn, shared between two of us. The enchiladas were presented nicely, and the sauce was good, but basic cooked chicken inside, not much to rave about. The street corn was very good, crispy corn and tasty sauce. Food portions were large, the two dishes were just right to share. They did bring an extra plate without us asking. Would I go back…probably not. Would I recommend…maybe. Would be fun to have a drink outside on the corner bar if you can find a seat. However as far as food, there are lots of other places to try in Austin.
My friend picked this place to eat here. I chose to order the corn because it provides a lot of nostalgia, but it was seriously disappointing. That flavor was not there even with all the ingredients that they listed. Extremely not worth the price. Not even any spice in them. How ever the shrimp tacos were very yummy. The tortilla wasn’t warm and wasn’t too sure what I thought about that. I do not like show me a tiny wedge of lime is provided. Two is bare minimum for three tacos but 3 is preferable. The place is dark, the booths are comfortable.
I’m not sure why this place have a really high rating. But it’s just regular hotel food in a tourist spot. We’ve ordered the chicken fried chicken which was a good 7/10 and the brisket taco that was super hard to eat because the meat was tough 3/10. The server came to take our order, disappeared and we had to flag her down for refills and the check.
Our waiter Adam was absolutely the best and so were the bartenders! However the kitchen staff needs a little work. For dinner, I ordered I ceaser salad and the wagu burger medium with no special sauce. The ceaser was to die for. My burger on the other hand came out well done with the SAUCE! Our waiter did take it back to be corrected. The burger came back to the table with the SAME top bun as before including the sauce! Our waiter offered to have it fixed and I declined. Again, Our waiter was absolutely the best and so were the bartenders. I would most definitely give the restaurant another chance, just not late night. To add insult to injury, Lauren the manager never came to the table to check on our party, however Adam the waiter did. That speaks highly of him. 3 times we offered to pay for our drinks and the salad that were consumed and 3 times it was declined. Again thank you Adam for your professionalism. CORNERSTONE is very lucky to have an employee such as yourself. Again, thank you!
