The food and service were incredible! Colby was our server outside and he was just the perfect amount of attentive but also respectful. He had great recommendations and was able to answer our questions when we had them. The food was incredible. We split the kolache, pastrami sandwich, and lettuce wraps and this was the perfect amount of food for 2. The cold brew was also a perfect addition to start us off. If you have the chance to stop by Dai Due, you must! Be sure to walk through the shop at the front of the restaurant too!

We showed up at 1pm on a Saturday thinking we may need a reservation but they seated us right away. Had the wild boar sandwich and the antelope sausage burger with beef talow fries. Was delicious! The service was also good and we were able to take biscuits to go. The only thing was the sandwich had a bit too much of mayo. I'd order it on the side next time. Would definitely come again!

The nine of us dined here on Friday evening. The restaurant was busy but we had reservation, so we got seated inside right away. (There are outdoor seating as well.) We had wagyu ribeye, antelope steak, wild boar chop, pork chop, and black drum fish (plus sides), and they were all delicious. Our server Ana was nice, and the atmosphere was good. Parking could be a bit tricky but all of us got parking space without long wait as other people were leaving.

Had a mimosa, the biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs + nilgai sausage, and also the butterscotch pudding with pecans. Highly recommend!

What an amazing experience we had last night! Every single one of the staff were absolutely incredible. The Chef is on another level! As they talked us through our enchanting meal I felt as though I was at possibly the best restaurant in Austin! It’s not just a place to eat it’s a place to go for a unique experience. Their wines are so good!!! They paired everything with absolute perfection. We cannot wait to go back. I don’t just recommend people go here… I’m here to tell them that you’re missing out big time if you pass this place up… This a must do destination! 👍🏼👍🏼💥💯👏🏼🙏🏼🎯

This is a lovely restaurant that sources the vast majority of their ingredients locally/in Texas. The 48 day dry aged steak is one of the best I have ever eaten in my life (certainly the best value), and my wife and I have tried quite a few high end steakhouses both in the US and across several countries. Aside from their steak though, all the other meat and non-meat dishes have been wonderful. If I were nit-picking, the French Onion soup was a little bit on the salty side, but that doesn't mean I didn't finish the whole thing! High recommend this local Austin gem

Just had the best dinner with the lovely crew at Dai Due! Burger, Wild Boar Confit, fries, sourdough bread, and basque cake for dessert- wow. And the bill when it arrived felt like half the price I would have expected for the quality of food, flavor and attentive service. Lovely to sit at the bar and watch the staff at work making magic happen - very impressed and we will absolutely be back.

There is no praise that this restaurant doesn't deserve. Ethically hunted game meat and in-season local produce ensures that your meal is high quality and guilt-free. We had the longhorn burger and wild boar chops (menu changes based on season) and it was everything and more than we expected. Fries are fried in beef tallow. Visit as often as you can!

Incredible gem in East Austin. Loved every bite, Paula was the absolute best hostess of all time. Can’t wait to come visit again!

Excellent and delicious burger. Bun was incredibly tasty and fluffy. It comes exactly how I like with pickles, onions, and jalapenos with cheddar. Knocks...pricey but expected at an upscale place. Jalapenos were not spicy and instead seemed pickled in something sweet which isn't my preference. I'm knit picking obviously, amazing overall. The crispy boar flautas for appetizer was by far the best flautas I ever had. The sauce and slaw it was paired with were phenomenal. Great spot!

Exciting options for when you are looking for a little out of the ordinary, but still the food you know and love. Wife thought antelope sausage on biscuits and gravy was too gamey, but I loved it. Sourdough pancake was incredible and I never usually order pancakes.

The food is amazing! Everything I had was delicious. But the ribs were by far the best! Sweet, tangy, and so tender. The service was top notch as well. Very accommodating and friendly. Asked of any dietary restrictions and with one of the people in the group having some, they was sure to disclose if something was in it.

Incredible food! High quality fresh ingredients, dishes made from scratch and an earthy upbeat vibe. The biscuits were fluffy perfection, don’t forget the butter and jam! The antelope breakfast sausage was the best sausage I’ve ever had. Our large bachelorette party tried about 5 breakfast dishes, each were outstanding! The service was fast and attentive. If I lived local I would be back everyday. Delicious quality food at a decent price is not easy to find. I can’t hype this place enough!

The best food in town. We were there with our team and we ordered almost everything from the menu and loved everything we ate. Their speciality is more about beef, pork and fish and they are perfect at it . Their menu keeps changing and chicken options are not available . Servers were gentle, kind and helped in choosing. I highly recommend this place.

Great food and service. Our server made some great suggestions on our first visit. A little loud, but I was too busy eating to worry about it.

Understated snout to tail butcher based restaurant. Quality is the key ingredient throughout: top quality ingredients, execution, ambiance, and service. The vibe is upscale edgy hunting lodge. I had the antelope lettuce wraps. They were absolutely perfect. The texture. The flavor. The balance of fat to spice. Great use of leftover off cuts of both meat and vegetables. It took what could have been garbage and made it one of the most flavorful, texture filled, and filling lunches I have had in a long time. I adored the fresh house made grapefruit spritzer (I had them hold the simple syrup) which was a great accompaniment to my meal. I enjoyed the French press tea, but would have thought with a French press I would get more than one cup of tea. The house cured bacon 🥓 was a soft chew texture - I personally like my bacon a little crisper - but the flavor was excellent. I will come back again and again. Great spot for the meat lover in your life. Awesome date spot or great for a bro’s brunch. (I saw a few different tables occupied by groups of male friends and/or coworkers.)

Enjoyed a lovely, high-end meal with my wife. They answered all of our questions and, being a fan of MeatEater & Jesse Griffiths, I was thankful for their patience with me asking so many:) If you go (and they're available), you MUST try the wild hog flautas with a semi-spicy broth; the sour cream on top was fresh and garnishes were wholesome and rugged. Sadly, due to the seasonality they did not have any of their famous sauerkraut but we will be back to request it again.

On a road trip. Never neen through Austin before. Kind of felt like getting bbq was too obvious a move. Wanted to check out the restaurant scene. This place is top notch. Recommended by a chef friend of mine. So damn good.

We had the Sour Dough Pancake, the Breakfast Sandwich, the Dai Due Breakfast and the Venison Lettuce Wraps. All were excellent. The bartender was our server, and she was extremely attentive. The crowd and atmosphere were welcoming and intriguing.

Stopped by for their brunch, which is available 3 days a week. Biscuit with butter and jam, carnitas flautas and the longhorn cheeseburger were our choices for the afternoon. The biscuit with jam was tasty, with no complaints. The flautas were surprisingly girthy with plenty of meat inside. Something you don't see to often with this particular Tex-Mex dish. I'm never been a huge fan of flautas generally, so this did not blow my socks off, but overall a reccomend if interested. Lastly, we split the longhorn cheeseburger. Very juicy and messy, but tasty. The burger was not trying to do too much, but had it's own personality and was made with care. With all Due respect, why aren't you on your way to Dai Due? 4.5/5

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Austin. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who eats meat. They do also have some great vegetarian options as well; one of my favorites is the oyster mushroom pate. I would also highly recommend taking home some of the packaged pre-made pate. Paired with cheese from Spread & Co. next door, you can make a nice charcuterie board at home.

K

Great food. I had the seasonal dish: Grilled Wild Boar Filipino Longanisa Sausage with garlic rice, grilled eggplant salad, chives and an egg. It was excellent. They no longer sell sliced sausage or charcuterie out the front butcher cabinet, but there is still some frozen fresh ground sausages, bone broth, and their cookie dough in the freezer up front to purchase along with Jesse Griffiths books, some coffee beans, Dai Due apparel, etc.

G
Grace Davila

Dai Due was an incredible experience! My partner and I love cooking and have a hard time finding a restaurant that delivers quality food. Dai Due did not fail to impress. This wagyu/antelope burger (ordered on sourdough) was mouth watering! Love that they source everything locally and can taste the love and care put into the meal! Julie was patient with us and very informative with all the questions we asked. We loved the atmosphere and will be coming back!

This is fine wild game dining. Its a great representation of how wild game can be dressed up with the best and even better than your standard market meats. The textures are different and the flavors vary depending on so many variables. Come with an open mind and ready to take some ideas home to get more out of your harvests! The service was excellent and the atmosphere is perfect, rustic and most of the cooking is done in view. I dont think you will regret it.

Enjoyed a beautiful brunch on the patio. Everything from the champagne to the beet ketchup for the fries was delicious. The back patio was the perfect setting for the meal. The flautas set the stage - offering warm broth topped with crunchy tortilla and tender boar. The pastrami sandwich was as good as any - dripping with sauerkraut and beet dressing. And the fries were completely devoured by the end of the meal. Can’t way enough how much we enjoyed this spot. An anniversary brunch that will now be in our regular rotation.

In a time when authenticity on the plate is increasingly elusive, this restaurant delivers a truly refreshing return to real food. Both the cuisine and the service were outstanding, making it a destination we will absolutely revisit. The nilgai, wild boar, and aged quail were impeccably tender, each thoughtfully prepared and deeply flavorful. The tallow fries, crisp and rich, were an excellent accompaniment and a standout in their own right.

We’ve been coming here for years, and it never disappoints. On our most recent visit, they had frozen cinnamon rolls for sale at the front of the restaurant, and we decided to give them a try. If you like cinnamon rolls, these are the best. The balance of sweet and savory is perfect, and you can actually taste the dough—not just the icing. I’m not usually one to write reviews, but these cinnamon rolls absolutely deserved one.

Amazing food; especially love the grilled pork chops. Menu changes constantly: Have been back multiple times already. Great dining environment. Very limited parking. Be prepared to park in the residential areas across the street during peak dining hours. Be prepared to make reservation 1-2 weeks in advance if you have a large party.

My man took me here for my birthday and OMG it was incredible! I didnt have much knowledge about the animals listed on the menu as I don't hunt, but the waitress was so informative and sweet and really took the time to explain each dish to us as well as what pairs best with what. She even made a great suggestion for my 10 month old daughter, as well!! 10/10 totally recommend!

Excellent script. No notes. What a fantastic meal. We had the tallow-fried, wild boar carnitas flautas, beef fat fries with beet ketchup and chile mayo, the pastrami sandwich, and the dry aged Longhorn cheeseburger. Everything was exceptional, including the service.

I ended up going with the Pastrami Reuben as an appetizer, and I cannot lie. It was one of the best in the city. The pastrami was sliced thin and generously stacked along with sauerkraut on grilled rye bread. However, tradition stops there because Swiss cheese is swapped out for pepperjack, and the dressing, normally a thousand island or Russian, is replaced with a beet 1,000 island sauce. It is a sloppy sandwich and we ended up knife and forking it, but the goeyness of all those flavors melding together started the night out right. There is not a lot of seafood on the menu here, that is not Dai Due's focus. We did try the Gulf Brown Shrimp as an appetizer. Four large shrimp are skewered and served with charred tomatoes and a garlic vinaigrette. My wife and I agreed we could have eaten three of those. O.K. back to the meat. When I previewed the menu, I focused in on their Cold Meat Board. It did not disappoint. Wild Boar was the star of the show, presented in three different forms - a rillette, a pecan country pâté and a summer sausage. A smoked duck breast and a chicken liver mousse with cherry mostarda rounded out the proteins on the board. The dish was completed with pickles, Fireman's #4 mustard and an enormous mountain of grilled sprouted rye bread. That's a lot to unpack! The three wild board creations really showcased the talent of the kitchen. I liked the pecan country pâté the best. In the picture, it's the meat that looks like a slice of Spam. No, I am not comparing the taste to Spam, just the visual image. The pecans do come through and with their buttery and slightly sweet taste mixing well with the rich, pork taste of the boar. I liked to use the mustard on top of it too. Definitely try it without the mustard first to see if you can taste all those flavors. The boar summer sausage was equally tasty. It had a slight, smokey, peppery flavor to it. The rillette seemed a bit meh compared to the other items. Maybe my taste buds were overwhelmed by the time I got to it. While the wild boar was the featured meat, I felt the chicken liver mousse stole the show. Mousse when done right has a smooth almost velvety mouth-feel, and yes it was done right. Then the Dai Due kitchen topped the mousse with cherry mostarda, and the sweetness of the Italian condiment perfectly complimented the savoriness of the chicken. I liked the mouse so much, I almost, forgot about one of my favorite charcuteries, the smoked duck breast. The delicate cuts of smokey duck were shaved thin, and the taste, pure decadence! A last note on the meat board, the bread. So, I started off saying they served the meats with a mountain of bread. Quite the opposite of many places that always seem to give you not nearly enough crackers, crostinis or bread to get through the dish. I laughed at first because it seemed like there was way too much. Um, no. As I got toward the end of the board I had to ration out the last two pieces. Apparently, they know what they're doing - like there was ever a doubt. Their pudding is served in a small glass jar with whipped cream and candied pecans. Even if you are full like I was, you can and should use this as an ending to your meal. I also encourage you to try the Texas Valkyrie's Kiss which is a Wildflower Mead. Overall it was a great experience at Dai Due. I do not know what their other seasonal menus look like, but for what they have now, if you don't like meat this may not be your place. I love the options, but know that going in meat is king at Dai Due. Wonderful appetizers and sides, so like us, you can create a lighter meal if desired. If you appreciate creative, fresh food that tastes incredible this is your place. Service is impeccable. What a gem for Austin.

We came here to celebrate our anniversary and had a wonderful time. We truly appreciated the team's excellent service. Food: The restaurant follows a farm-to-table concept, making everything fresh and high-quality. We ordered several items, but my favorite dish was the Lion’s Maine mushroom appetizer. - Green Salad: This was a light start to the meal. It had a stronger salt and citrus flavor, but I enjoyed it. - Lion’s Maine: This dish had a more pronounced acidity, but it balanced nicely with the green onions and grilled sourdough bread. - Dry-aged Longhorn Cheeseburger: It was good, but nothing exceptional. - Beef Fat Fries: These house-cut fries came with beet ketchup and chili mayo - Colossal Pork Chop: This was seared well and lightly seasoned, allowing the quality to shine through. While it was nice, it was on the fattier side. Service: Our server, Ana, was attentive and friendly, and we loved her energy. Ambiance: The decor was barn-house themed, creating a casual and welcoming yet semi-formal atmosphere. Overall, I loved the restaurant's concept, and the team was great. While I wasn’t blown away by the food, it was more on the comforting side. I’m looking forward to returning next time to try other items on the menu.

I have been hearing about this restaurant through various sources like the Meateater podcast, Jesse’s books, etc. I finally got a chance to eat here and it did not disappoint. My girlfriend was skeptical as she is not a game meat eater but the burger she had was “the best burger of her life”. My dinner was equally good and both starters we got were incredible. Next time I’m in town I plan on making another visit.

Came to try the burgers and they didn’t disappoint. Well balanced flavor on a solid bun. The patties are excellent. We got a side of fries which was enough for three. The beet ketchup was different. I got the mead aperitif which was light and refreshing. Excellent service as well.

I visited Dai Due again after a few years, and it’s just as lovely as I remember. The vibe is cozy and cute, especially the patio—it’s the kind of place that makes you want to linger. The food is delicious without being overly heavy or over-seasoned—it really brings out the natural flavors in a thoughtful way. Service was great too. It’s a farm-to-table restaurant, and they also have a butcher shop, bakery, and other goodies. Highly recommend!

This is mine and my husband’s favorite restaurant in the whole world. It just feels like home but with Michelin star meals. Not pretentious, but pure goodness every single time. We always order whatever salad is in season, their flautas, beef tartare, beef tallow fries (the BEST fries in the whole world), the burger, and the pork chop. Everything is just superb in every way! Love the Dai Due family.

My wife and I don’t live in the area but have wanting to eat here for years. We had incredibly high expectations and have to say this place blew all expectations out of the water. From the phenomenal food to the friendly staff to the cool vibes, nothing could’ve gone better. Big shout out to our super knowledgable server, Jordan, that made our visit feel special. We can’t wait to come back again.

We really enjoyed this place from the atmosphere to the food and the service as well. The options were different and wonderful to experience something different! Next time, will have to get some meat to go. The only reason I did not give a full 5 stars was because my husband wanted some coke or Dr. Pepper but only serve root beer here due to trying to stay local so it was understandable but missed. I still want to try that huge serving of ribs though yumm looked amazing!

Overall, all the food was outstanding. We (6) of us all ordered a different entrees. The cheese board was wonderful. Needed more melba crisps. The pear jam was superb! All entrees (Wild boar confit, Tartar, Black Drum, and Quail were outstanding . The only entree which was inedible was the Burger. It was like eating a salt block. We took it home and I was unable to eat it. Unbelievable!! We ordered 3 desserts, the butterscotch pudding (just okay), the Basque cake (superb, took an extra piece to go) and the apple tart (superb). One of my guests ordered the burger, and didn't say anything until we were ready to leave. Had I known, I would have sent it back! Over, amazing food. I will go back when I return to Texas. This was my second visit.

Was really looking forward to this place but just didn’t live up to my expectations. And that might have been part of the problem. Went here for brunch. The tallow fries were good but over seasoned. The eggs were great but the sausage was burnt. The sourdough bread was amazing but it was also slightly over toasted and burnt. All in all I’ll definitely give it another try. But not an amazing first impression.

M
Madison Kirksey

I’ve eaten dinner here twice now. I chose Dai Due because they are seed oil free and use fresh local ingredients. The first time was yummy. I had a mushroom appetizer and the meatballs for my main. No issues! Both were pretty good. This second time I got the beef tartar as an app and the beef rib as a main. The tartar was so yummy. The rib was sizable, but much of the meat was too dry to eat, a small portion had some juiciness from the fat. Unfortunately after my second visit I wound up with food poisoning, I’m guessing from the tartar. Despite that, I would eat here again, I would just avoid the raw stuff, and try something I haven’t yet had. Maybe the quail. Also, you absolutely can’t miss their beef fat French fries. Best fries I’ve had in my life!

L
Lia

Very generous portions, ordered the pastrami sandwich and the quail for lunch - the meat tasted very fresh although a bit heavy. Also ordered the grilled chicken heart appetizer, which was also pretty savory and sweet. We even purchased some of their homemade soap and some fresh coffee beans to go. Parking is horrendous though, there's only a couple spots in the front and limited spots in the back, so during lunch on a Saturday, we had to find street parking across the street and walk to the restaurant. Overall, not a bad place to try if you're in the area.

S
SecondaryProtocol1

If anyone wants to make a name for themselves, I would say it's definitely this location. They come out swinging with homemade ketchup with a beat base recipe. And while the burger was in need of some editing to make the wakyu meat stand out more. Their flavors definitely encourage me to come back and see what other surprises they conjur up

K
Kevin Parmley

Overall a good meal with fresh, local ingredients and an extreme focus on from scratch Texas themed menu items. The apps are good but nothing stood out as being stellar. The burger was very very good but at $26 with no sides it’s hard to justify…. no matter the ingredients. It’s not like it had caviar or something. The boar confit was a bit disappointing and needed more to the dish to balance out the very specific and strong flavor of the boar itself. Service was excellent and the atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a great playlist to top it off! It’s hard to separate yourself from the pack in Austin these days with so many stellar options (for better prices) across town. That being said, I’ll probably be going back to try their breakfast and the pastrami sandwich, as both were recommended.

E
Eric Baik

Food was good but the price : food wasn’t worth it (but we come from Houston where food is cheaper and we get more). The service was good - frequent refills, check ups, and care but also slow. We didn’t make a reservation but were seated within 10 minutes. We made our order and waited almost 15 minutes to get our appetizer and then another 15-30 minutes for the main meal. The three of us ordered to share the boar confit, cheese burger, sourdough, and potatoes caroline. Our favorite was the boar confit but altogether the flavors were good but not great

M
Michael Mendez

Honestly the food was just ok. The service was great though. The burger has way too much going on. The pastrami sandwich was extremely underwhelming. The beets all over everything was extreme overkill. The donut cooked in beef tallow was really nice. The antelope sausage was the only thing memorable.

The place has a very friendly, neighborly feel to it. I ordered the turkey club with the sweet potato fries and both were very good. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. This would be a great p…

Solid restaurant on the east side of Austin. They have a beer list with over 100 beer options that regularly rotate. For food, you can't go wrong with the chicken wings. They have tons of TVs if …

Great drink prices and delicious wings! My only complaint is the dogs aren't allowed inside. The service is super friendly and the music is awesome.

Great bar on the east side of Austin. Outdoor and indoor seating available. Outdoor seating is covered and other spots have umbrellas too especially for these super hot Texas summer days. Staff and…

Maybe it was what I selected but the entree was lacking. Meal was unbalanced (just meat, bread, fries) and presentation was frankly lazy. Pita bread felt like it was from a package. Drinks were okay at best. Hostess and server were very curt. For the price and hype I expected better.

Terrible. Terrible. Garbage. Can you cook a burger in less than an hour and be less pretentious? No. You deserve negative 200 stars. You are the reason Austin blows. I had to argue with your bartende…

This place is a joke.. some of the worst service in the city. staff just sitting around the bar stroking each other instead of being attentive. Whatever.. garbage

The staff on a Sunday evening was horrible….there were a bunch of delayed flights and people were going there to eat and have a drink - hopefully with festive and happy staff. Not the case. I did…

Didn’t end up eating here because the service was so poor. When we walked in, nobody greeted us or directed us towards the host stand at the back. We got there 30 mins before our reservation and waited until it. When the host never came to check on us, I went back up to the stand to check on our reservation. As I approached it, a group of the same size who had just walked in for their reservation was seated instantly. When I asked about when we might be seated, I was told “Your table has checked out, but they’re just not leaving, so…”. We waited another 15 minutes and still weren’t seated. I went back up to the stand and the host offered us a table outside. After waiting for an indoors reservation for an hour and watching identical groups get seated instantly, it was clear that Dai Due was too self-important to serve us, and we left to go eat somewhere else. We never got an apology, will not be attempting to eat here again. P.S. Their kimchi doesn’t even have chili powder in it, go to an Asian grocery store instead.
