Hornitos Austin Reviews
If you're looking for fast but great food then friends stop at Cafe Hornitos! The food was great and the waiter was so friendly.
Gotta stop on way to your St. David's main appointments if headed south on access road. Great migas tacos today . Drs
Luckily the special today was enchiladas suizas. One of my favorite plates. I enjoyed my food and the service was quick. I usually come for breakfast, but I'm glad I came for lunch today. I will be back soon.
Awesome spot for a quick lunch. The service is great, and the food is even better. They have great lunch and happy hour deals.
Good tasting and strong drinks, and food is cheap and good as well. Service is quick, and there’s a happy hour 3-7 every weekday, a great little spot near campus.
We pulled into the back parking lot and were not impressed with the place initially. However, once going inside and being seated, we were treated with outstanding service and delicious food. In our party, we ordered the fajitas, the chile relleno, and the chimi. Everything was so good. It turned out to the be best meal we enjoyed while in Austin. You have to try this place--you won't be sorry.
Cafe Hornitos has a really welcoming vibe—friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, and excellent food. Literally anything off the menu will be incredible, but the breakfast specifically tacos are always amazing and the drinks always hit the spot. It’s a solid place to study, catch up with friends, or just take a break during the day. Highly recommend!
In my opinion this is one of the best if not the best Mexican food place in Austin. It has fantastic food, drinks, service and atmosphere. It’s also a family run authentic restaurant. Plus it is very well priced and you never leave hungry. I would recommend it to anyone looking to go for a good meal or to drink with friends.
I've driven past this place 1000 times and finally came upon it by accident looking for breakfast. Everything was amazing! Our waiter was very attentive and very friendly, and the food is incredible. The beans have a beautiful flavor, the tortillas look made in house, salsa with a nice kick...so much great flavor, it's all delicious. Can't believe I've never been here. I'll definitely be coming back.
One of my favorite Tex Mex places in Austin. It feels authentically Tex Mex. nothing fancy, but we always get great service, very reasonable prices, and everything I’ve ever eaten was delicious. It’s never too crowded either and they even have nice breakfast options! Food is always fresh and they have every Tex mex classic you could want. Also they have no problem offering gluten free options.
Dec 2025: Good! Will return. Very decent basic Mexican spot. Large menu, many options, they had a pretty good shrimp enchilada lunch special for I think. $12.99. not too expensive, but not super cheap. Food was tasty, not magical. Could repair the booth seats, but good little spot. Free chips, salsa, salsa is hottt!
The restaurant is easy to get to right off the freeway and has free parking. This restaurant serves delicious TexMex food with a large menu and full bar. It also offers vegetarian options and three types of beans : refried, borracho and black. There are lunch specials and a happy hour menu with both food and drink offerings. The dining room is a little small but the food is good. The service can be hit or miss but even when it’s slow it’s not that bad. The prices are very reasonable and the food is good. Can’t really ask for more
I get that they are trying to expand but by robbing people for literally basic food that could have been reheated frozen is insanity. We ordered 3 dr peppers a side of fries, 1enchilada with rice only a small queso and 3 crunchy tacos 61$ the offense i took was genuine knowing they took full advantage. We are trying to support local businesses but geez smh.
