Posse East Austin Reviews
This is a cool bar, I enjoy coming here during lunch for a quick burger and a beer. I usually get the double meat and regret it because I forget just how big the double meat is. I could be easily satiated with a single. I like that they have a little self service bar with salsa, jalapenos and pico. Pretty good beer selection on tap and they have these classic Dallas cowboys pint glasses that are super cool. Nothing bad to say about the place really.
Patty melt was just awesome, and it's only $7.25. Juicy and delicious. Bread toasted perfectly. They have a great selection of Cholula hot sauce varieties and a self serve for jalapenos to load on as well. Simply outstanding.
what wonderful place. I had so many good times here. seen and listen to so many great musicians here. tasty foods here too. Spent a winter in Austin Texas and this would be one of my favorite places in Austin for sure. Loved playing and listening are your open mic night. Ill definitely be back the next time im in Austin Texas.
Friendly place, great food-still savorying it as I remember (🤤🤤)! Get their speciality (ask as many questions about it as you need, you won't be sorry), fast service, very clean place awesome location. They even have a library, so you can read as you eat, a ping ball machine and an old school game console. Ant to top it off, the prices are unbeatable!
Posse is my favorite place to watch a Texas game. Great food and great ambiance. The service can be iffy but it’s a college spot so I don’t hold it against them. Very inexpensive and the crowd here is always solid. Apparently it's not as good as it was back in the day but I love it. Only complaint is the men's bathroom is awful. Hook em!
First time here and I enjoyed it, definitely will go back. The atmosphere is very "local hangout" and I enjoyed that a lot. I was meeting there for a first date, and Dylan was really kind and make great recommendations. I had a chicken and beef tacos, which I really liked (although the meat in both was a little salty). Everything was really fresh!
Posse East in Austin: Classic Texas with a Wagyu Twist Just had a fantastic lunch at Posse East in Austin. This place has a real cool vibe – a classic sports bar atmosphere with a friendly crowd. For the main course, I went with the Wagyu burger. It was definitely a step up from your average bar burger. The Wagyu beef was juicy and flavorful, and the toppings were fresh and delicious. I couldn't resist adding a side of their battered fries, which were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside – perfect for dipping in ketchup! Overall, Posse East is a great spot for a casual meal and drinks. The food is solid, the service is friendly, and the atmosphere is fun. I'll definitely be back to try more of their menu next time I'm in Austin. **Highly recommend:** * Wagyu Burger – A must-try for burger lovers! * Battered Fries – The perfect complement to any burger.
The atmosphere is good, but also pretty crowded. The service is good, but not the best. You don't get served—instead, you go up to the counter to pick up your food once they call your name—so I don't know why they ask for a tip on the receipt, but I gave one anyway. I got a double with fries on the side. The burger was pretty good, but I didn't taste anything special about it... it just tasted like a burger. The fries were mediocre, too soft to consider it good, but it was seasoned nicely. I tried a friend's onion ring, and it was actually great and REALLY HOT (burnt my tongue). I had fun with friends, so I'll give it 4/5.
I ordered the fish and chips and a friend got the patty melt. The patty melt was good, the bread was a little crunchy but in a good way. The fish however had a weird taste to it, I'm not sure if it was the batter or if it was in the oil for too long. It might have just been a one time thing. The fries were good. I think it is a nice place to go back to if you want to chill with some friends and get some cheap eats.
Great location, and good prices, but weak on food. They still use Styrofoam, which is sad. And don't take phone pay, which is stunning... Good trivia night. Very dangerous black corner on way to bathrooms.
Great draft beer selection. Service was crude and rough. Woman's restroom is inside but the men's is located on the outside corner like a outhouse. Kinda uncomfortable. The patio area is large and nice and the inside is cozy. If you wanted to watch a sports game like we did; would not recommend. The tvs are really small. Like our hotel room tv is bigger lol. Also would not recommend food. They got our Togo order completely wrong and the patty melt came on Wheat bread like what? Asked for loaded chili tots and fries and tots came dry and fries came with a thin sad layer of cheese and no chili or jalapeño. So if you go I would just suggest the nice draft beer selection.
Beware the Patty Melt!!! Gave me food poisoning and I threw up promptly after getting home Service can also be very hit or miss.
Might be time to raze this place after 30+ years of almost no charges. Ever heard of remodeling? It looks worse than when I went to UT years ago. Get some better A/C working , play other games besides UT like a real sports bar and serve something other than beer please.
