AMAZING EXPERIENCE! A live jazz band, cozy patio, fantastic service, and spectacular food, what more could you ask for?! Our server Cora was so awesome and gave great drink recommendations. Must try spot with amazing service!!

The dish that I’ll forever remember - Bottarga & Sea Urchin. Before having that dish, I didn’t like sea urchin at all. Now - I love it! Also, had the beef carpaccio and the affogato with pistachio ice cream. All of it was delicious and I cannot wait to come back.

The gnocchi was amazing! Drinks were cold and not watered down. Our server Cora was awesome as well! Amazing food, service and ambiance here. Would highly recommend.

The vibes are on point here. The huge oak tree covering the outdoor patio makes it feel like you’ve been transported somewhere in Italy — it’s such a great setting. This is one of my favorite spots to grab a snack and a glass of wine. I personally love going during the day or for happy hour when it’s a little more relaxed. If you’re looking for more energy and a lively crowd, the evening scene definitely delivers. Great atmosphere, good design, comforting food and friendly service!

I hosted my husband’s 40th birthday in their private room and it was fantastic. The food was very tasty, the room was beautiful but the best part was the service. The event staff was very responsive/helpful and our server, Paige, was the icing on the cake. She anticipated our needs, read the room and was truly a joy. Thank you, Il Brutto!!

We celebrated our 4-year wedding anniversary at Il Brutto and had such a wonderful experience. Maria, our server, was amazing! She was so attentive, friendly, and she truly made the night feel special. The atmosphere was the perfect mix of romantic and upbeat. The food was absolutely delicious. My husband had the pizza and I had the ricotta ravioli with orange zest, which was light, fresh, and so flavorful. They even brought us complimentary champagne to celebrate our anniversary, which was such a thoughtful touch. The pistachio gelato was incredible and the perfect way to end the meal. Highly recommend Il Brutto!!

Excellent date night dinner. Ella is an amazing host & answered all of our questions ahead of dining & made our experience super smooth. Excellent level of service from Nena as well. Super friendly staff. Highly recommend the Burrata pizza, cozze (the bread its served w …omg 🤤), and lamb ragu. Will ABSOLUTELY be going back.

We hosted a company cocktail-style event at Il Brutto on January 22nd with about 55 attendees, and it was an absolute hit from start to finish! 🎉✨ The passed appetizers were incredible. Every single bite was delicious, beautifully presented, and constantly flowing 🍴🤌 Our team is still talking about the food. We had a few dietary restrictions for guests and Madison made sure that everyone was taken care of. A huge shoutout to Madison Greenberg and the entire Il Brutto team, they were truly amazing. From planning to execution, everything was seamless, welcoming, and incredibly well-run. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made everyone feel taken care of all night long 🥂💫 Everyone had a wonderful time, and we wouldn’t hesitate for a second to host future events here. If you’re looking for a place that delivers on food, vibes, and top-tier service—Il Brutto is it 🙌 Highly recommend! 💛🍷

Il Brutto is a staple for us! We recommend this place to anyone who visits. Service is phenomenal, food is high quality and fresh, and drinks are perfect every time! Shoutout to Juan who is our favorite bartender and is so talented! Recommend this place and will continue to come back

Popped in to see if they had a table available, and to my surprise, the very kind hostess worked to accommodate my mother and me. It was exactly as I remembered it—dark, loungey, industrial, and completely my kind of vibe. Taylor was our server, and she was the best. We were warmly greeted, and she thoughtfully guided us through the menu. The fare was incredible. I didn’t know I was such a fan of sweet potato, and the pizza was chef’s kiss. Would definitely recommend 👍

The atmosphere, service and food here were all a great experience! We ordered the Bottarga + Sea Urchin Pasta and the Prosciutto & Figs Pizza, both were fantastic and tasty, you can really feel the quality of their ingredients. The pasta had this sea flavor and it wasn’t overwhelming. The pizza we loved the parm 24M that it had, it gave it this strong notes of flavor and the figs with the little sweetness that balanced it very well. In terms of the place we loved the dimmed lights of the place made it feel more intimate and high end. Also the tree outside decorated with lights it’s beautiful. We would definitely recommend!

Il Brutto is a trendy Italian restaurant with real heart. It perfectly balances authenticity, passion, and the comfort of home with a versatile, upscale dining experience that fits seamlessly into Austin’s nightlife—very much a 1920s socialite energy. It’s moody, sexy, and a little messy in the best way. It's casual elegance without trying too hard. Not pretentious at all—more like a village nonna who got rich later in life and is confidently reliving her prime years. The attention to detail is next level—from handmade pasta made on-site with clean, simple ingredients to exact boiling temperatures for the perfect texture. The menu is thoughtful and unique, featuring both beloved classics and dishes you won’t find anywhere else. Dining here is an experience, not just a meal. The best way to do it? Let the servers take the reins. They’re incredibly knowledgeable and guide you through an unforgettable dinner journey. Everything is fresh, local, and expertly crafted. You can feel the craftsmanship and passion in every bite. Il Brutto doesn’t just serve food—it creates unforgettable moments.

It was quite busy on a Friday night. We had a reservation at the bar. We had to wait a bit, but it was more than made up for in service and food. Everyone behind the bar was amazing. The beet salad was SO good. The burrata crostini with the anchovies… I don’t even know what to say. Perfectly crunchy, salty, creamy. Perfect toothiness in the squid ink pasta, with sea urchin that had me feeling like the Little Mermaid. Thank you for a lovely dinner.

My boyfriend and I went here on a date a few months ago and had the best experience. From the pizza down to the excellent service from our server Mariah, we can’t stop comparing every other place we eat at to our experience at Il Brutto. It was so good we ate our leftovers as soon as we got home, and were still blown away at how good the food was. Can’t wait to go back. P.s. the zucchini pizza is amazing

We had our wedding rehearsal dinner at Il Brutto! The food was absolutely incredible, and the servers just keep coming with course after course. The portions were generous and the drinks were delicious. Working with the team to schedule and plan the event was a breeze! Madison was awesome! Only downside is that the wine room did not have quite enough room for dinner for 40 people as advertised. The staff was able to quickly set up a table and open up the doors to the patio for the rest of our guests, and it worked out anyways because the kids had more space to play outside.

The appetizer game here is insane and the lasagna absolutely rocks. Seriously though their appetizers might even be better than entrees so this could be a great place to drink and try everything they have.

Dashawn is the best server I’ve ever had! Seriously this place is consistently raising the bar for restaurants in Austin. Food, wine, service are all incredible and out of the league of any other Italian spot in Austin. If you’re looking for the best wine in Austin and the best service— look no further!

Everything was phenomenal. We have been living in Austin for almost a year now, and this is the best restaurant we have been to by far. Coming from Jersey, there is not much good Italian out here, but this is! My boyfriend is also from Sicily, and he said nothing can beat his nonna’s cooking, but this comes close!

I came here for a birthday dinner with my husband, my parents, and my father-in-law and we had the great fortune of being served by Joshua for the evening. From start to finish, every bit of our experience was wonderful and Joshua was the perfect shepherd for our Il Brutto journey. We had a lot of semi-chaotic opinions and desires from the table, and Joshua helped us find the best path forward. Highlights of the meal included the prosciutto plate (and the nut-free basil (!!)), the ribeye (12/10), the agnolotti (brown butter, incredible), the bread service, the semifreddo (pickled strawberries? Amazing), and the gelato (the best pistachio ice cream/gelato I’ve ever heard AND best chocolate ice cream/ gelato I’ve ever ever had). Great amaro selection as well! Would absolutely return here for a date night, special occasions, or just a delicious meal for no particular reason. And would have course be delighted to have Joshua as our server again.

We had an amazing experience here! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great, and the service truly made it memorable. Huge shout-out to DaShawn—he went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Super friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. We’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend! 🫶🏻✨

Everything at Il Brutto was fantastic! The food was incredible. The best lasagna and tiramisu I’ve had (and I’m Italian). Mariah was a great server and took great care of us while we celebrated our anniversary. Definitely coming back to try more!

I go to il brutto at least once a month for the past year and love to bring new friends here for the best aperitivo / happy hour in town. Food wise, my favorite items currently on the menu are the burrata pizza, cozze, bottarga + sea urchin pasta, and their house made sorbetto. However, I’m most impressed with their drink menu, including one of the most beautiful vermouth selections I’ve ever seen!! I like to sit at the bar; Liz, Juan, Jay, and Adan have always treated us with the utmost care, provide heavenly drink pairing recommendations, and really know their vermouth. Also, join their new vermouth club!

Ticks all the boxes for a great upscale modern Italian restaurant. Delicious drinks - loved the tiny tinis. Highly recommend the happy hour! Heirloom tomatoes are perfectly fresh and seasoned - might have been my favorite dish. Solid carpaccio and indulgent pasta dishes. Enjoyed the meal and consistently kind service.

An amazing restaurant with even more amazing staff. We went for Valentine’s Day and the food was out of this world, we got the prosciutto App, lamb pasta and the steak entree as well as the tiramisu dessert and Double Otto coffee cocktail. You have to get their special after dinner coffee cocktail, it’s the best take on an espresso martini I’ve ever had. The staff (wish I got their names) from the hostess to the servers, food runners and everything in between were so nice and happy to be there. Delicious food and hospitality.

I recently dined at Il Brutto and I gotta say that it’s one of my favorite spots now. I loved the outdoor patio space, despite the heat—it was a beautiful setting with great aesthetics! The food was pretty good overall. The prime rib, while flavorful, was a bit too fatty for my taste, but the wild swordfish was absolutely perfect, with a delicious, well-balanced flavor. Perfect as a summer dish! The staff was friendly and accommodating, even moving us to a cooler spot on the patio, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

The atmosphere and staff are absolutely fantastic. Not once did our water drinks run low with fresh cold water, and we had very attentive staff that paid extreme attention to everyone they served. Many thanks to the chefs because very dish came out so beautifully prepared and presented. The flavor of everything was beyond top notch. The atmosphere itself was breathtaking and they paid so much attention to the scenery and made it feel so comfortable and elegant.

My friends and I went to Il Brutto while we were on my besties bachelorette trip in Austin. The restaurant was packed when we got there so I’d definitely recommend making a reservation like we did especially if you have a group. They were so great about asking us if we had any dietary needs or allergies and even had separate menus for our girls who do which was so helpful since a couple of the girls are vegetarian. Our server was kind and helpful. We ended up getting two appetizers for the table and an entree for each of us. For appetizers we got the Heirloom Tomatoes and the Roasted Beets. While they both tasted great, the price for both did not seem quite worth it so if I were to go back I’d probably skip the appetizers. For my main entree I got the Pappardelle Lamb Ragu which was absolutely amazing and I would highly recommend it especially if you are a person who likes lamb. It was decadent and flavorful and absolutely the way to go. Other favorites from the night included the Gnocchi and Agnolotti. The vibes of the restaurant are beautiful and you will definitely feel fancy while dining there.

Atmosphere 10/10. Amazing date night spot. Went with my boyfriend for Valentine’s Day and it was so romantic outside. The cozze and burrata crositini were amazing. Pizza was good too (I don’t really care for pizza in general, but my boyfriend loved it). As for the pastas, we were a bit disappointed. I ordered the lamb ragu and there were hard bits of lamb. I don’t know if it was overcooked or just dried out, but it was really upsetting to chew. I tasted my boyfriend’s cacio e pepe and was not a fan… it just had a very unsettling taste. Overall, I would recommend this place for a date night spot!

The restaurant has a great vibe and the service was solid, but unfortunately the food really fell short. The lasagna bolognese was soggy and undercooked, and the gnocchi was just okay—nothing memorable. For a city with so many excellent options, this was disappointing. Compared to places like Red Ash, the food felt closer to cafeteria quality. Sadly, I won’t be coming back.
