Pho Hoang Restaurant Austin Reviews
Absolutely love this place me and my sister have been coming here since I was 8 and she was 9. I love that it’s a family ran restaurant and everything is just so yummy. The service is quick and short no long and awkward small talk.
Eye round pho is immaculate. I moved across town and have tried every pho place around me, none of them even come close to this place. I used to order takeout every week the same order, all I had to say was “hello I’d like to place and order for Ashleigh” and the man at the front KNEW my order, he was the best. I haven’t had it in almost a year now and I think about their soup and dumplings everyday. I will be making a special trip soon just for their amazing soup. Nobody in Austin compares.
Love coming here for the chill vibes and crazy speedy service Last time I went with my partner, it was literally 15 minutes from getting out of the car to having our pho in front of us. And that's with both of us already receiving our appetizers. It would've been 11-12 minutes but one order got mixed up. They were even speedy with the correction! There's always something random on the TV and I love that, as it fits the charm of this place. Will continue coming back 🖤
This is THE best pho in Austin. Ive tried every spot and nothing tops the richness of the broth here. Its family owned, the staff is just the right amount of rude, the drink selection is wide and refills are frequent, and its always clean. The portions are super generous and the prices low. I dont get vietnamese food anywhere else.
I've been coming here for years. This is one of the very few restaurants that has consistent flavor and actually large poritons. I'm sure some days I could share a large bowl with my wife. This place should have at least a Michelin mention. My entire family loves this place! Kids included.
Best Pho around. The broth speaks for itself. Fast service. This place is well organized they know what it takes to be successful business. Pretty much anything you get here is probably good. We got Shrimp Pho Shrimp spring rolls. Egg rolls and combo rice. Shrimp pho unbelievable flavors. Egg rolls cooked to a perfect crisp. Shrimp Spring Rolls with the peanut sauce to die for. Finally Combo rice filled with plenty of meat cant go wrong on this plate. Looking forward to come back to try other things. But will be getting the best Pho around these parts next time around. Enjoy everyone!
My first time having Vietnamese food and it was amazing. I got the pork pot stickers and the Vermicelli stir fry with Pork, Chicken, and Shrimp Combo. The flavor was so good. Service was on top of it. Drink was always full and food was fresh and fast. A great sign was that people were constantly coming in and out. Also, the food delivery services were nonstop. Next time I am in town, this will be a go to.
Friendly, fast and easy service was welcoming. Kids menu is available. Their pho broth was one of the best I've tasted in a really long time. Entertainment while dining is a nice filler for silence between a mouthful. TV and music play in the background. Nothing negative happened during our experience. You can even bring the iced jello dessert home!
Food was good and the prices are decent.. brought my whole family here and we all had a good experience.. the only thing that was missing was an egg cake with my broken rice plate.. for some reason, I thought it came with it, but delicious food nonetheless..
The beef pho was absolutely chef’s kiss — rich broth, tender slices, full of flavor. 10/10 without question. The fresh coconut juice tasted like it came straight off the tree — refreshingly sweet and nothing like the canned stuff. Another 10/10. As for the fruit jelly dessert, the flavor was light and not too sweet, which I appreciated, but the texture was a bit off for my taste — 5/10. Overall, a satisfying meal worth coming back for. Can’t wait to try more next time!
The pho was good, with a flavorful beef broth that was a bit on the sweet side for me. Tofu was kinda dry. The "small" portion is REALLY small, with very little noodles, so consider sizing up if you're hungry.. It's not the best I've had, but it's good, and I'll definitely come back to try it again.
Tried something new. Stir Fry vermicelli. Thankfully I decided to taste first, usually I would straight pour the sauce in. Remember that this stir fry which makes it a little different. The food is acceptable. The stir fry vermicelli I had is a little sweet for taste bud. This is a nice bowl, a mix of veggies, wish there is a little more tofu. The downside, the lime is not fresh.
Pho Hoang Vietnamese has great flavor in their pho. I forgot which I ordered but it had some fatty pieces of meat. I’d order a different one next time. A woman stole food and so the put her on blast at the front door. I love it!! Get the passion fruit juice or one of their smoothies, they are great!
I have been to this restaurant many times. The food is usually good but not today though. The pho (combo) soup was a bit too salty. I was not too happy with the service today as both the waiter and waitress seemed have attitude or maybe had a bad mood today. The table we sat was not cleaned up well as there were a few small pieces of vegetables on the table from previous customers. The overall atmosphere was good. New printed menus this time which means the prices have gone up.
Worst pho ga I've ever had. The broth and noodles were both very salty and lacked aromatics. I should have just paid for my meal and walked out, but I felt bad wasting food. Service is also lacking with people giving you attitude to go with your meal. This is my 2nd time here, with the first time trying their beef pho. It was also not flavorful and lacked the depth of true pho. What an embarrassment to the vietnamese community. Please do not think that your experience here is representative of what pho should taste like.
Rude waitress. Her name was “nun” had an attitude with my table only. Wouldn’t recommend for young adults because they will treat you different. Never once was checked on just took my order and brought my food then stayed on her phone or would stare at us from the tv. Horrible. Service.
This place used to be one of my favorites a few years ago, but the new waitress (brown hair, deep voice) is super rude. Food is still awesome but service/attitude is abysmal. Bummer.
Don't go to this place . They tried to put auto tip. We got 2 pho and a spring roll. They charged us $42. Yes we tipped them 18% on top of that 42 but it didn't make sense that the cost is $42. We went back told them how it should be which was $37. Yes they put the 18% already on top of our check and expected us to tip more when we were a party of 2. They had the original receipt kept and just gave me the right receipt ( the photo below) which has no information on what I bought and just the $42. However in the ORIGINAL Receipt they should have gave me on the right ( photo below) had all information . You guys shouldn't be doing business like this. Restaurant is not a place to mess around with people. Food was okay tho.
