Soto Austin Reviews
The front desk girl treat me amazingly warm and kindly and then the manager shows up and he is even more kind and offers me a free soda , definitely they are putting lots of care for this business, 100% recommend and my burgues where also super good
Shake Shack is the classic burger restaurant. Overall, this store is great. You will feel comfortable dining inside. People who served me is kind and friendly. I ordered Shake burger, fries and fried chicken this visit. $15 is a bit pricey for a burger place. However, you will enjoy your meal here.
The staff here is amazing—everyone always greets me warmly when I walk in and checks to see if I need anything. Big shoutout to Capone for consistently offering the best hospitality. The place is always clean, the food comes out quickly, and it tastes amazing.
This location has been amazing for years. I was a resident at LU years ago when they opened and loved having Shake Shack below me. I've moved but I still come here for a quick and great chicken sandwich. Nice spot to pop off of congress and enjoy lunch. Super friendly staff here for as long as I've went. It was busy but the self serve kiosks made ordering through the line quick and easy. Location was clean as well, great visit as always.
We came in as a group of 15+ women and the service was amazing. The food came out super quick and Ron went above and beyond with being extremely attentive to us- pick up our food when we were done, asked if we were doing ok, asked for any refills. He even was kind enough to take a picture of us when I asked. I can’t recommend this location enough and grateful that Ron was here to attend to us! Really appreciated him!
Nice ambiance, absolutely delicious food! Get the fries with cheese and bacon. You won't regret it! Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of the food there. Over three years later and my fam and I still feel the same way about this Shake Shack! The girl who helped us was so kind and thoughtful. And super patient because it took me forever to decide which delicious mix I wanted! Again, I don't think you could go wrong.
We had a big group meeting up here to eat before heading out to the Trail of Lights. One of our group called ahead to inquire about food allergies, and after having a nice chat with the store manager, Ranferi gave us 10 free burger coupons! So nice. The burgers were great and the milkshakes were thick and creamy. Definitely will be coming back with a group. Free parking in the garage, open seating and friendly staff = A+
I knew I loved the location. I knew I loved the burgers and now I know I love the staff. Seriously, what's not to love? Great food, great people. Great place. Thanks for your amazing help, Ziggy! They're lucky to have you 🙂
I just have to shout out Donavon at Shake Shack because that was genuinely some of the best customer service I’ve had in a long time. From the second we walked up to the counter, he was warm, patient, and completely present. He didn’t rush us, even though it was busy, and he took the time to answer questions and make thoughtful recommendations. You could tell he actually cared about making sure we had a great experience, not just getting through the line. When our order came out, he checked back in to make sure everything was right and if we needed anything else. It sounds simple, but that kind of attention makes a huge difference. He was upbeat, respectful, and just genuinely kind the entire time. It’s rare to come across someone who turns a quick burger run into something memorable, but Donavon absolutely did. Shake Shack is lucky to have him. Give that man a raise.
Their veggie burger actually tasted like meat. It was so good. They were definitely not stingy with the pickles either, which is a big plus. Their cheese fries are BOMB. Me and my daughter will definitely be returning. Also love how they have different lemonade flavors. The staff was very kind and helpful and atmosphere was really relaxing.
Shake shack has become one of my favorite burger joints. So far every time I've stopped by to grab a burger and fries or satisfy my sweet tooth with a shake, the food has always been really good. The service is decent but they could be a little more welcoming and smile.
My partner and I went for an early dinner and had a fantastic meal and time. I especially want to shout out waitress Jennifer, who really took the time to explain the options, gave excellent descriptions as the food came out, and was thoughtful about allergens throughout. She made you feel welcome and wanted. We will be coming back, that's for sure!
Amazing food, good drinks, great service. Highly recommend ordering the tempera lobster, the wagyu gyoza, the white tiger roll and the lychee margarita. We also loved the kudamono roll. We tried the hamachi apple roll but it wasn’t our favorite.
Soto is a sleek sushi spot with fresh, well-crafted rolls and nigiri. The flavors are balanced, the fish tastes top-notch, and the presentation is always on point. The vibe is modern and inviting, and the staff is friendly and attentive. Perfect for a casual date night or a sushi craving that hits just right 🫶🏾
Visited for the first time this past weekend to celebrate my birthday and was not disappointed. Tammy (our server) was kind and knowledgable, plus she gave great recommendations I wouldn't have thought to order, in a genuine way. The nigir was the best quality ive had in ATX since moving here - 10/10 will be back still dreaming of the uni pasta (dont sleep on this) and the chu-toro
The food was phenomenal. Sushi was absolutely spectacular, with impeccably fresh fish served with interesting add-ons. We also really liked the miso soup, pork ribs, wagyu potstickers and little beef rolls with something incredibly delicious inside. Lamb lollipops were less amazing but the mushroom sauce that came with them was 10/10. The space is industrial and not too welcoming, and the noise level is high. Still, the food makes up for all flaws.
Hands down the BESTTT sushi soooo fresh soo delicious. COME TO THIS PLACE NOW😠. The fish MELTED I mean MELTED in my mouth. SENT ME TO HEAVEN with EACH BITE. The uni pasta 😩 I MEAN and the Niku niku roll SET OFF FIREWORKS FOR ME 🤩-me after the first bite. Amazing service came w my boyfriend at like 9:00 on Tuesday after bat seeing and felt so bad but they still took us with a smile gave the best service. LEGIT the host lady SOOO SWEET. Our server who is also head bartender was amazing couldn’t have gotten a better server. THE BEST the GOAT 🐐gave us great recommendations and was amazing to talk to GREAT I mean GREATT service top tier. Too bad I don’t live in Austin currently was just visit my bf but next time I am back you can catch me there fr.something on the house I felt special. BEST experience. This gave me life I was sent to heaven and back and I saw colors after this meal no joke 100000000/10 recommend
We enjoyed our dinner. Given our recent experiences with some reputed sushi restaurants, Soto is way better. It is normally priced with upscale service and overall experience. The only hiccup we felt was, we specifically reserved indoor table seating (not sushi counter or high top) while booking in open table but we were told at the restaurant that we will get what is available. I am not sure how the reservation is displayed at the restaurant end..but please make sure it is seen at your end and the guests get what they reserved for. We got it with a minor wait which was totally fine. The fresh wasabi we got was not great considering the taste and consistency (it might be a one off thing with the root they used). We just mentioned it. They comped it to our surprise. There was no need for it but it was an example that the restaurant actually cares. All nigiris we tried were really good. Service was fast and efficient. Servers were knowledgeable. It’s a place we would like to go back to.
Two different visits have put Soto on our top table list for Sushi. Imaginative, fresh, expressive and luscious riffs on so many cuts. The menu is extensive, the daily specials push us in different directions. And the knowledgable staff and wonderful service make it so easy to just give them the ball and enjoy the progressions. There's also this thing they call "Happy Hour", an ancient concept to be sure, but if you happen to be there at that time, the value proposition is even stronger. Great wine list and service with such a friendly, disarming approach. Naturally at this level, it is pricey, but not out of line, and the quality of cuisine and service is so impressive, even generous. We love Soto!
Saki was our server and she is an all star!! She recommended dishes and was spot on. The flavors here are 10/10. Fresh fish, different twists that are delightful. We will come back and request her again. We eat sushi regularly and live in the area and somehow this place now got on our radar. We were not disappointed and loved our experience. Thanks Saki!!!
Great sushi food and service. It was my first time coming in and we had a lovely birthday lunch for a our dear friend and food is amazing and the service is a topnotch. All the food she recommended is so delicious. And our server brought us a yummy dessert. Thank you for all your recommendations.
By far, my favorite sushi spot in Austin!!! The service is beyond exceptional every single time I've been! (Catie, in particular, has provided absolutely excellent service every time I've had her) The head chef is one of the nicest and most professional people I've had the pleasure of meeting, and THE FOOD! OH, THE FOOD! It is where I would choose to have my last meal from if I could! I truly do not have enough good things to say about this place! If you want the best sushi in Austin, it's here! If you really feel like splurging on a nice treat, the omikaze is the best meal I have had in my life, and I stand by that completely. I'll include some of the pictures below of a few of my favorite dishes I've had! Seriously, come eat here! Edit: Still absolutely amazing, every single time!
Honestly, this restaurant is one of the best that I’ve been to in the US. I ordered their tasting menu, which was expensive, but truly worth it. The fish and everything were so fresh, and my waitress was nice and friendly. I had a place at the sushi bar so I was happy to have a little conversation with the sushi chef. Highly recommended! 100/10 🔥

This is such a cool place! Its close to downtown and has stunning views! The food was pretty good but it looked pretty different from how it was advertised. The service wasnt really active, bevause you order on a screen. It took aboit 10 minutes to get 3 burgers, 2 fries, and 3 drinks. I really recommend going here
🧠 Ask Amy Review: Shake Shack 🍔 Hands down one of the best Shake Shacks we’ve been to across Texas, Florida, and Michigan. 🔥 Food was hot, fresh, and delicious — the way it should be. 😋 Burgers hit, fries delivered, zero disappointment. 💰 Worth every penny and every calorie. 🚗 Parking (The Only Villain) 🚫 Parking is rough. Like, circle-the-block rough. 🅿️ Expect to park on a side street and walk it in. 😬 Leave and come back? Cute idea. Not happening. 🤍 Staff Shout-Out 😊 Workers were genuinely kind and welcoming. 🙌 Friendly, patient, and clearly cared about doing things right. 👏 Customer service made the experience even better. 💬 Ask Amy Says I’ll walk for good food and good people — no problem. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rating: 4/5 🍔 Great food 🤍 Great staff 🚶♀️ Questionable parking 🏆 Still a win

Today was my first time to visit a Shake Shack. I’ve heard very good things about their hamburgers and was excited to give it a try. A gentleman working the counter was very helpful guiding me through the kiosk to order a smashburger and an order of fries. After waiting what seemed like an unusually long time, my order was delivered to the table. The burger was small, but very tasty. The bun was very soft and delicious The lettuce was, as the picture shows, tiny and completely wilted I was unable to bite through it, as it slid off the burger in one chewy mess. I enjoyed the fries (warm, not hot) and thought the portion was fair for the $4 charge. Overall, I would like to give it a 3.5 star rating if that was possible.
Ordered a well done burger. I really dislike undercooked hamburgers. I’m not apologetic about that - that’s the way I want it and am not comfortable with undercooked hamburgers. Mine was below pink. See photo. Not the first time it’s happened. In terms of a “quality control” issue I bet they put out a percentage of pink or even red (raw) in the middle burgers that would make the manager cringe. I really wish when “well done” is ordered and stamped on the receipt that they would tell the kitchen to pay attention and not just cook it like any other order, even if they are busy! Especially at a premium price! I do really like their burgers and fries but as someone who doesn’t like undercooked hamburgers I will wait a bit till I want to order again. Unfortunately it was take out so I was home and could not ask for a redo.
Oh my gyat it’s so expensive 😭😭 but so tasty I’m fine with indulging & I’d come here more often if I had a 100k salary. But this was $40 so I’m taking myself back to in & out or McDonald’s😔 staff is amazing tho! My dumbahh left my keys in the bathroom and this super pretty girly working let me know and returned my keys to me. Thanks yall!!
Had the Big Shack and some onion rings. Burger was fresh but nothing that was really memorable another than it's $10 for a basic burger. Onions rings were quite bland and to serve a tiny 6 piece portion for $5 seemed steep. Good in a pinch for a burger craving. Nothing going that would make me think about it again with other good food options in the area.
It was a nice restaurant, but a little underwhelming and definitely overpriced. I probably wouldn’t have left any review at all had I not looked at the receipt (my husband paid). We had three appetizers and one was really good. The crispy sushi rice. I decided to just get an appetizer for my meal because I wasn’t very hungry after and asked the waiter about 2 of the appetizers we had not tried. He said they could do the crispy sushi rice in four smaller pieces (instead of the one large) since I really liked it. That sounded great since it really was delicious! The four small pieces ended up being about a third of the size of the appetizer and $5 more. I would have gone with the one piece since it was substantially more for my meal had I known. It was definitely not worth $28. They also bring out the pieces of Nigiri as they are made which is fine except they forgot several pieces and our waiter disappeared several times. If I’m paying $500 for 3 I expect a little better on all accounts.
Specialized Japanese restaurant. Service was good and the atmosphere was great. We stopped by for Saturday lunch and surprisingly it was not busy. There were more serving sushi chef than patrons. Soto offers good selection of fish and charges a huge premium for them. As you see from the rolls we ordered the fish was literally razor thin. Disappointing for the price we pay.
I usually love shake shack, ordered via lunch drop and the burger was rare/med-rare. Inedible for me. If you can’t take in a bulk order and cook everything properly then please don’t accept large orders. This left me without lunch all day at work.
Edit!: Horrible! got rid of the dairy free shake for no reason! No reason to ever go back. The plant based shake is very good. The service was excellent, friendly and efficient. The fries got cold and kinda gross quick.
My girlfriend and I recently dined at Soto Sushi, expecting a high-end, quality meal to match the steep price point. We spent over $500 on our dinner, anticipating a flawless culinary experience. Unfortunately, what we received was anything but. Within hours of leaving the restaurant, both of us were experiencing severe stomach upset, and we spent the better part of the next morning on the toilet suffering from what was clearly food poisoning. The quality of the fish served at a restaurant of this supposed caliber is expected to be impeccable. Given our immediate and shared illness, it's clear that the fish was not fresh or was improperly handled. At such an exorbitant price, this is not just disappointing—it is completely unacceptable and a serious health concern. I am thoroughly disgusted by this experience and would strongly advise others to avoid this establishment. The high cost does not guarantee quality or, more importantly, safety.

Soto: Austin's Sushi Gem Delivering Unforgettable Bites
You know how sometimes you hear about a place, and it just *clicks*? That's Soto for me, and honestly, it seems like everyone else who walks through their doors in Austin feels the same way. If you're craving an unforgettable Japanese experience, especially when it comes to sushi, you absolutely need to check this place out.I've heard friends rave, and the consensus is pretty clear: this isn't just good sushi, it's often described as the best sushi folks have ever had. And after hearing about...
Austin's Sushi Gem: Soto Delivers on Omakase and Happy Hour
If you're navigating the bustling Austin food scene and find yourself craving exceptional Japanese, let me point you towards Soto. Nestled on South Lamar, it’s earned its stripes as a true local favorite for a reason. Seriously, ask around – chances are someone you know considers it their go-to sushi spot, and for good measure. Many folks, myself included, have a soft spot for Soto’s happy hour. Swing by on a Monday between 4 and 6 PM, and you’ll discover a surprisingly robust menu that makes
