Green Mesquite BBQ Austin Reviews
What can I say? Green Mesquite never disappoints. It was the first ever BBQ I had in Texas and I go there occasionally when I need great barbecue at a great price. They have a great selection of multiple meet platters as well as BBQ sandwiches and po boys. I could drink their BBQ sauce and their ranch is amazing as well. We have great service Everytime we go and I will always come back as long as I live in Austin.
Staff, stellar. Atmosphere, stellar. Food? CRAZY. Texas jambalaya and mac n cheese. With garlic sauce. Oh and the hush puppies. Girl. Everyone here is so sweet, there's live music, they've been on triple D... at least three people called it "THE BEST BBQ IN AUSTIN" while we were here. 100% recommend and will be back.
We were told this was an excellent local barbecue place, and weren't disappointed. My husband had the lemonade, which tasted like fresh squeezed. The meat was really good, not a lot of fat on it, just like I prefer it. I also had the mac and cheese and fried okra, which were delicious.
Lulu is always a great server and the manager Rick always makes an appearance to say Hi. Food is excellent and affordable every time.
Absolutely love Mesquite BBQ. The food’s always solid, with that perfect smoky flavor that hits every time. Truly some of my favorite bbq in Austin. But what really stands out is the service. They handed me free BBQ sauce even after closing when I forgot to grab some when I left. That kind of generosity and care says everything. Support local, they’ve earned it.
Today was my first time eating at Green mesquite BBQ. Rick Garcia runs the joint takes the time to sit down and talk to every person who comes in. Lulu was very kind and I have no complaints about their service or the fact that I'm a musician and this is one of a very unique few places that you can have an intimate experience with the crowd or the musicians. I had chicken fried steak dinner with fried okra and macaroni and cheese and I'm from Oklahoma where that is a staple, let's say I made a lot of groaning and happy noises so that my dog ended up having to get a portion of what I ate. It's a great place, people seem to know each other and like each other and you can either be alone or have a talk with a few strangers. I love the place.
Great meat at a fair price! I absolutely love smoked wings so I was very excited to try this place & the wings did not disappoint. Do keep in mind, the only sauces they have are their homemade buffalo sauce & bbq. Personally, I’m not the biggest fan of buffalo sauce in general so I went bbq & it complimented the wings nicely. My boyfriend got their sausage & pork ribs, both delicious & not dry. All the sides were great. I was tempted to try the pie but I was so full by the end of our meal. My only “downside” is they only have beer & a seltzer for alcohol selection. Not worth removing a star as the overall experience was great but if you’re not a beer drinker such as myself, and would like a drink with your meal, just keep that in mind. Highly recommend!
Super nice staff and delicious food! Some of the best BBQ in Austin! :)
Delicious local BBQ without the long line! Friendly Texas service, we love green mesquite! I like the catfish, hush puppies, and pecan pie.
Locals know, this is one of the last spots you can experience the real, old Austin. Friendly folks (the place was bought by the staff) with good food and cold beer. Highly recommend the bbq chicken, the chicken fried steak, the sliced beef sandwich and the wings. Sit on the back patio in the evening and enjoy some live music under the green lights.
Five-star barbecue! A long-time Austin favorite does not disappoint. With the rise of food costs, labor force, and cost to do business, this iconic restaurant has not compromised quality or customer service. We were pleasantly impressed with the service, portions, price and quality. The meats were cooked perfectly and were very lean. The pork ribs are thick cut. The brisket has the most amazing smoked flavor. The pork and chicken were juicy and not dry. The bbq sauce was tangy and flavorful. The max and cheese is super creamy and the cole slaw was freshly chopped. Our mouths were watering and we couldn't stop talking about how satisfied we were and happy we chose this restaurant. So good. We will definitely order again. We also ordered the loaded baked potatoes and French fries on the side - delicious and fresh. Jo's Pro Tips: available on DoorDash for quick and convenient delivery.
Best wings in Austin!!! They also do everything else so freaking good. Solid brisket, chicken and ribs!!! Oh and the Chicken fried steak is top notch. Also, finishing off a good meal with pecan pie is absolutely fantastic!! If you're downtown Austin and want to skip the ridiculous likes at the other places, come on down to the green mesquite! Oh, I almost forgot the bar, even though it's tiny, is the perfect stop for a cold draft beer and great service. 👍
This place has been around for a long time. Been a while since I've been there though. Was really a pleasant surprise. The brisket was hot, most, tender, and just the right amount of "black" to provide outstanding flavor. Pleasant staff and great atmosphere. Green Mesquite earned all 20 stars. Decent price too!
I love the Green Mesquite, best BBQ in town, ribs and brisket were yummy. I like their vinegary sauce as well. Lots of good pinto beans and plain white bread, were also provided. I took whatever was left, and had that for dinner, for the next several days. I finally thru it in the garbage after gnawing it all to the bone.
This place is one of my favorite BBQ spots. Pretty straightforward ‘Que with none of the hoopla. My go to is the brisket and sausage sandwich to go when I’m on the run. The jambalaya was tasty and the macaroni somewhat underwhelming. Over satisfied with the cost and quality of this barbecue. Also, the staff has always been very nice and accommodating every time I’ve been visited here.
I love these people. They are a community and restaurant... if you prefer shiny, chrome and boring, dont go here.
The Green Mesquite BBQ is a great little restaurant, full of personality, at the heart of Austin. The service was top notch, as was the food. Highly recommend! We'll definitely be back.
Friendly folks who have worked there a long time. Comfortable surrounding and good service. Reasonably priced. We’ve been eating there for over 2 decades.
One of the few "Old Austin" haunts that is still around. You can't beat the atmosphere, the friendly service, and the wings! I was heart broken to hear it was closing until the employees stepped in and saved it. Do yourself a favor and go enjoy a beer, BBQ, and some live music on the patio and pretend it's still the good ol' days! ❤️
As you may have heard, Green Mesquite almost closed permanently due to the standard mix of rising costs and reduced patronage that have afflicted so many restaurants on and around Barton Springs Rd. Fortunately, a group of employees, some of whom have been there for more than 20 years, pooled funds and got the restaurant open again. We decided to head down there to offer some support on a Saturday night, and I've got to say, I'm glad we did. Austin has more barbecue restaurants then it knows what to do with, and some of them are probably offering better barbecue than Green Mesquite, but there is something to be said for a restaurant with old funky decor, that's been around for decades, is crammed with old Austin history, and has staff that treats one another like a family, pulling together to make something great...while delivering a quintessential Austin barbeque experience. Wings were excellent, definitely Austin style, not Buffalo. Meats were on point, brisket fall apart tender but not fatty, sausage crisp with rich flavor, turkey perfectly smoked but not dry. The sides got the job done, the highlight was probably the potato salad. Peach cobbler was on point, a perfect complement to the meal. Live music was good, courtyard was full but not crammed, service was solid, beer was cold. Service was a little scattered, but friendly and bending over backwards to deliver a good time. But I have to make one lasting observation. At the end of our meal, Rick and staff joined a family who was visiting, to celebrate and toast a former employee who had passed away. That's a real expression of the heart of the place, and I think, if you come and visit, you'll feel that heart in both food and friendliness. This is an old Austin place with an old Austin soul. Oh, and I should probably mention that the prices are old Austin too. Getting a three meat plate with two sides for well under $20 is, compared with other restaurants in Austin, a hell of a deal.
Great live music. My favorite is Monday, Jimmie Dreams, Marshall Hood and Fiddle Bee.
This was a great find after a day at Barton Springs Pool. They were voted Austin's best smoked wings, and I can see why. They were so good. We also had their baked potatoes, one with pulled pork the other with chopped beef. Okra was nice and hot with a lot of crunch. We were traveling with my adult daughter, who was in a wheelchair. It was a little tight, but we fit. She had no issues in the restroom. This place is definitely wheelchair accessible. This is a must go to spot in Austin. It's low-key, with no long lines. Our only complaint is that the beer wasn't iced cold
I ordered something through Uber Eats and I had my doubts, but wow, everything was very well served, in good portions, at a good price, and with excellent flavor. The only downside was that I ordered a sweet tea and it didn't arrive, but otherwise the food was excellent.
Love this place! Beers were cold out back and the music was great. Food was wonderful and the owner wad so nice i felt like i made a new best friend.
Local here - been to Green Mesquite before and after new management. Wow - Rick and team have built on the heritage and made something good even better! This feels like Austin as it should be 🙌 Great food (and prices), free live music that’s actually great, friendly people. Don’t forget to check out the patio. Brisket is my fav but ribs and turkey also very good. My kids inhaled the peach cobbler and pecan pie. Get in here!
The food here is rich, bright and satisfying for the palate and my wallet. Ive been to many local BBq spots and this place is at least as good on flavor as places double or more of the price. I don’t get why this place isn’t mobbed. It’s a hidden gem with incredibly friendly staff and the owner Rick always greets me with a smile. Phenomal lunch specials. Give it a try.
What a great place! Shared a platter AND a chicken fried steak with a friend. Couldn't have left fuller or happier! Great food and great prices.
My last night here in Austin I decided to check this place out after having tried various other bigger and more popular restaurants in the area. I tried the special of the day which was a beef brisket with two sides. The brisket was as good as any that I’ve had and the sides were fresh and tasty. It was also only 10.99 which is a great deal. What I liked about it is that the portions hit the spot just right and I’m not a small person. The staff is also very friendly and it has an old fashioned and relaxed atmosphere.
Totally different vibe from Black's up the road, more relaxed and a heck of a lot less of the waiting in line part of the dining experience. The chopped beef sammich was good, plenty of meat on it. I'd recommend getting the spicy BBQ sauce, their regular sauce seems to be a ketchup and molasses based one. Not bad, I just like mine with more oomph, you know?
It’s better than ever! This place is a true Austin treasure and Rick and his team are keeping it real! Food is consistently delicious and the staff always make you feel at home. Great bands a fun vibe make this a definite go to! In a town known for great bbq, don’t pass by this Austin institution!
Walk in the first time and be welcomed as an old friend. Whatever the special is that day, get it. It's probably half of what you'd spend elsewhere and will make you just as happy. Then go take a nap. Best wings in Austin (they really have that award!). Great location, friendly folks, delicious food.
It's been a minute but I've eaten here many times and it's always GREAT food. Today I had the best coleslaw ever with perfect catfish and yummy yummy hush puppies! Unique tartar sauce very tasty. Great couple of guitar players in here Monday night too!
This is my favorite (of all time, (20 yrs) Austin barbecue restaurant. I basically ordered the same thing every time I come… brisket sausage, two sides, coleslaw, and potato salad. And a half-and-half iced tea…,The people that run it are super nice!, some of the long time employees recently purchased it, and it’s still the best!
old school Austin barbecue with delicious food and good service. the outdoor eating area is great other than in summer and even better when there's live music. The servers have all been there forever and know the menu and service is good. I recommend for authentic bbq food in an authentic setting. 👍
This is outstanding, down-home barbecue that isn't overpriced, unlike so many places in Austin. As soon as you walk in you are greeted with a big warm, Texas welcome and a reassuring handshake from the owner Rick. He loves this business and it shows. The staff are friendly, and you can tell they genuinely enjoy taking care of their customers. It's a real family-run operation that radiates lots of love for good food and pride in sharing that passion with others. I found the portions to be a good size, and everything came out fresh without too long of a wait. We had the Frito pie, four meat platter of smoked chicken, brisket, sausage, and ribs. with Mac and cheese, green beans, and an extra side of coleslaw. I especially liked the tender smoked chicken with a nice crust on it, and the sausage with had that sharp snap when you cut into it, always a good sign. Brisket was delicous, it does have a slight pull (so not completely so soft and tender that it melts in your mouth), which is personal preference but I really enjoyed it. Green beans, hush puppies, and Frito pie were all excellent. Craving something sweet to chase all that savory? Their homemade pies are AMAZING. We got a slice of blueberry pie to go for a late-night snack and it was superb.
Finally made it here and sad that it took me so long bec it was some great home cookin’. Everything was just right, not over seasoned or overly fancy… just some great food. The chicken fried chicken, catfish platter and sides (green beans, mac n cheese, jambalaya and fried okra) were delicious. We arrived 30 mins before closing so we just sat inside. Place was clean and had a nice, cozy ambiance. Glad this place is still around and was saved some years ago from shutting down. Will return to try some actual bbq in the future.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Rick Garcia and the Green Mesquite Crew Deserve a Blue Ribbon! Rick Garcia — you and you staff realy kick out a cool vibe. The food? Dinomite! Every bite hit the spot — hearty, flavorful, and clearly made with love. I have to give props for the man playing the jams as we left. They were straight out of my favorite roller rink growing up. Your place (your playlist & the band from San Antonio) are going to be tough to beat in this town. Looking forward to having our Pabst Law Firm happy hour here soon. Cheers, man! Nicky & Frank
We had an awesome experience at Green Mesquite! The live music created such a fun, laid back vibe and the food was delicious. We shared a two meat plate and it was plenty for both of us. Great portions at a great price. Everything was flavorful and cooked just right. Definitely a must visit spot in Austin if you’re looking for good BBQ, good music and a relaxed atmosphere.
Seriously Though, If You're Looking For Great, Inexpensive BBQ In Austin, Everything Is Delicious Here, Including The Beer! 🌮🍖🥪🍻 The Green Mesquite BBQ is an Austin Classic! Located on Barton Springs Road near Lamar, this Local Gem of a restaurant is known for its incredible quality of food and respectable selection of Texas beer. They're also awesome for supporting the local music scene by hosting artists every night of the week! Open Mic is Every Thursday starting around 6pm. Recommended dishes: *Brisket Tacos *Pulled Pork Sandwich The Veggie Platter is a good deal as well. My favorites were the mac n' cheese and the fried okra. The new owner, Rick, provides a great family friendly atmosphere for a beautiful night out in ATX. Staff members like Tomàs, Pasqual, Lulu, Jules, and pretty much everyone else provide great service as well! Long Live Texas BBQ, Beers, and Live Music! 🤠🤘🏼🎶🍻
Low-key eatery with broad menu. I had dinner - two meat plate with pork ribs and sliced brisket, potato salad and coleslaw. Ribs were tender and tasty, brisket was fall-apart tender. Very good creamy potato salad and the slaw was crisp and juicy. I also had a half order of onion rings - hey, I was hungry - they were awesome, light and crispy and not oily. A half order would be perfect for two people. Oh yes, and they have Miller light beer, and I took peach cobbler to go. I drove by a very well-known barbecue place to get here, the parking lot was so full. You couldn’t even hope to get near it. This place was friendly, great food, and very relaxed atmosphere.
Green Mesquite is just as awesome as ever! If you are looking for delicious food and fast, friendly service in a warm, down home, non fussy atmosphere, this is the place. Perfectly located just south of the river and up the street from Zilker, it has its own parking. I love the well-priced daily specials! Our most excellent server Andy brought me the Thursday special — 1/2 chicken and two sides (I chose fried okra and jambalaya) and my friend got sausage on a roll and onion rings. Yum! Their brisket and ribs are also terrific. Thanks Andy! I’ll be back soon for some of that pie. 😊
We always enjoy this place. They have friendly staff, great live music, always a great meal. A lot to like!

The best bbq with friendly Texas service. Skip the line and enjoy local texas bbq at this adorable location. I love the catfish and hush puppies.

Great (truly authentic) barbecue and a lovely outdoor area with picnic tables. Toddler friendly with chalk to color on the pavers. Sometimes music outside for a bonus.

I went for lunch on a very quiet Monday. They’re certainly friendly, helpful and welcoming! The generously thick slices of brisket was very tasty, wings very tasty too - wings could have been smokier, maybe just my preference. The pulled pork unfortunately didn’t seem to have much flavour - but a quick dash of their house BBQ sauce fixed that right up! Thanks a bunch, would revisit.
Just in town for a quick visit and based on my son’s recommendation and looking over the menu, ordered dinner delivered. Was pleased with the food quality and quantity. First of all, the order was correct and well packaged for delivery. The 3 meat plate of beef BBQ, pulled pork, and chicken was each tasty and nicely seasoned and came with two sides. The potato salad was very good, much better than many restaurants and the hush puppies were good. We ordered a full (vs half) a basket of fried okra and it was a lot of fried okra! The okra was well breaded - not too much and not too lightly. They also have a good variety of sides that you can order in pint and half gallon size to do your own big dinners - we got a pint of Mac & Cheese which was creamy and hot - not baked which is the other normal iteration of this classic dish. I also had to try the peach cobbler desert which was okay but had too much breading and too little fruit and on the dry side (for my taste). It is always a tough comparison when one compares it to your Moms! The sweet tea was good and all the prices were surprisingly good. Would love to visit in person vs take out as my son says a good place. Recommend.
2022-04-13 Excellent place to eat outdoors if you care about Covid spacing. Friendly service, plenty of menu depth, and great food when you’ve winnowed down to your final selection. The green beens were fresh, not canned, and cooked ‘al dente’ if that’s a thing when talking about veg. Just right for my buds. The coleslaw was meh…big standard fare for BBQ places. The roast chicken was top notch. Nicely seasoned but not overly so. The brisket was hiding under the bread on my two meat plate and was standard for this town, which is to say excellent. The portions were generous and satisfying. All in all an excellent meal again. This place is predictably good.
Good bbq, I really liked the wings, mac and cheese, unfortunately the fries didn't do it for us and neither did the chicken tenders for the kids. Came from out of town for a day in Austin and this was our first stop as we were hungry and I had already checked the menu to make sure they had food my kids would eat. Did feel a bit out of place as we did notice multiple people keeped on looking at us. My husband and I did enjoy the brisket and wings. Also very good price compared to other bbq places in the area.
It looks like a hole in the wall, so you know it's good food!!! And it was delicious! Generous portions.
Definitely would go again. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the staff at the bar, and we were seated in less than one minute. The waitress came to our table in under a minute as well even though the place was packed and she took our orders. Food service was really fast and the Mac and cheese was amazing. The brisket could have been a bit juicier but it was great overall. The prices are definitely what brought us here and the service and good food will bring us back.
Stoped in for a quick lunch. Ordered their cheeseburger with fries. My only complaint would be the quality of the patty. Nothing more than a cheap frozen patty. However it was cooked through out and came with plenty of fresh veggies. Fries were good. Service was efficient and extremely gracious. Overall a great value lunch. Probably wouldn't go back, but I understand why they've been around for so long.
It’s good.m, I’ve been here 7 or 8 times in the last few months. Chicken and brisket were good, pulled pork on a sandwich is great. The potato salad was like a purée, pretty odd consistency. The grilled chicken salad was really good and that chicken was nicely crisped. If you’re using the bathroom, it has the thinnest toilet paper imaginable. Otherwise they’re single-person bathrooms which is nice.
Very good place that is put on the map for a reason! BBQ! BRISKET AND RIBS ARE TO DIE FOR! Coleslaw was excellent mac and cheese was excellent jambalaya was great but according to my taste buds, the wings were not the best in Austin. They were good but not a smoky as I'd hoped for, and they or a little vinegary in the sauce department. Must try! They have live music on the weekends too in a nice little patio area.
What a great little spot for great BBQ! We really enjoyed ourselves and Tiffany was awesome to us. We came in looking to eat and they definitely did not disappoint here! Ambiance is classic - certainly fit how I thought a real traditional no nonsense BBQ joint should look. Definitely get yourself some brisket, and don’t miss out on the hush puppies either! The Ribs too - oh man, have the ribs! Great time - will try and eat here again!
Awesome little bbq spot near downtown. Very nice staff, Tiffany was a great sever and attentive. We got the 4 meat plate with okra and jambalaya and also a plate of wings. I’d say my favorite part was the wings, we get them dry and crispy with sauce on side so skin doesn’t get soggy. Great taste and sauce was unique. On the meat plate, I liked the ribs best, tender but not fall of the bone. Great flavor though. I was very happy with my entire meal. Looks like they have a good daily special every day too. The pie looks amazing and they say it’s from Texas Pie Company in Kyle. I’d definitely recommend this place. Come out and support your local restaurants.

I think this one falls in the dive category. Had the sampler platter, wings and ribs were good but the brisket was our favorite and worth the up charge of $1. Skip the Mac and cheese bland.

Authentic tx bbq. atmosphere .. good value, pickles , sauce , turkey brisket .. peppery green beans … beautiful sunny day.. great service . Loved everything .thank you
From salads to po-boys, a loaded baked potato, and cold beer, everything was very tasty and the service was friendly.
Green Mesquite is my wife's favourite Barbeque restaurant by far, and this was our first visit, post C19 and we brought an out of state visitor who was 'hungerin' for some BBQ. My wife had the Chopped Beef sandwich with potato salad and hush puppies as sides, followed by blueberry pie and absolutely loved the food! Our visitor had the Pork Rib plate with pinto beans and Mac n cheese as sides and a Root Beer float and enjoyed her BBQ fix very much. I had the 3 meat plate with Pork Ribs, Sausage and Buffalo Wings, my sides were fries and Jambalaya. The flavours we're good, but I was disappointed that all my food was lukewarm, not hot. Anyone that knows me knows this is my biggest gripe with restaurant service, hot food should be served HOT. I was also disappointed by the fact that they were out of chicken for the 3 meat plate, buffalo wings were not my first choice. Also one of the wings was partially raw, not cooked thoroughly. That's a recipe for disaster.
I went here as the line at the BBQ place nearby was absurd. The food was pretty good! The best part of the meal was definitely their award winning wings and sauce, the other BBQ was alright, though personally I didn't like the cut of ribs they did where the bone was cut through instead of being one solid bone. Made it a little difficult to eat. Service was a touch slower than I expected, it took a bit for someone to ask me for my drink and order, but the food came decently quick enough. Honestly if you're wanting BBQ without the stupid long line it's not a bad place, but I've certainly had better.
The vibe is fun and local. The food is tasty and reasonably priced. Outdoor dining with good live music.

Visited this place with my dog after our walk around Zilker. They have a pet friendly outdoor area which made it easy to sit with the dog. Overall the food was solid. I heard really good things abo…

We stopped by here, for lunch, while walking down Barton Springs. I honestly wish we had not. The service was extremely slow. The waiter took our order about 10 minutes after we sat down. He brought our drinks about 10-15 minutes after we ordered them. About 15 minutes after we received our drinks, our food finally showed up (note that the waiter has not been back since we received our drinks, and the food was brought out by someone else). After we were finished eating, the waiting made an appearance (we had not seen him since we received our drinks), bringing us our check. As for the food. The BBQ sausage was rather bland. The potato salad was very bland. The fried okra was the only thing I actually liked. Definitely not what you expect from a Texas (let alone Austin) BBQ restaurant. We will definitely not be back.
Pros: food came out in under 10 minutes; waiter was nice; and good music played in background Cons: Ordinary tasting food- didn't live up to the DDD hype Saw this restaurant and Diners, Dives and Drives (DDD) so I drove to Austin to check it out. It was average tasting at best. I got the chicken plate with potato salad and string beans. My husband got the brisket plate with mashed potatoes & gravy and mac and cheese. I was hoping I would be dining on food with an overwhelming amount of flavor and taste, but to my disappointment it was average tasting.
What a disappointment. Ribs, pulled pork and brisket bland and tasted like day old leftovers. mac and cheese was blah. Hush puppies were tasty. I should have known due to lack of customers at peak lunch time.
People over the counter were extremely rude to me and my family. Chicken wings and peach cobbler were amazing. Don't waste a dollar on anything else
I really want this place to be good but they really should be doing better. For example the original blacks alone is similar but one billion times better. The meat isn’t very tasty and the mac and cheese pales in comparison. It’s like cafeteria food! I love the institution of this place but they could do a lot better.
This place has been in Austin forever but I’m really not sure how it has stayed in business. I recently ate there for the first time (now I know why), primarily because it was nearby and my group was…
Run away. Terrible. The "smoked turkey" is thick cut deli meat turkey. That was clue #1. The ribs were tender but NO seasoning and the bbq sauce was tangy sweet like Kansas...bit bad. Ia from Memphis...and yall making Texas look bad. I couldn't get a table at Terry Blacks and decided to come down the street here. Bad move. The Mac n cheese was watery and flat. A cheap version pf something in a box. The coleslaw was cabbage and mayo...bland and chopped large. The hushpuppies were good but I only ate one and sent everything back. I only tasted a tiny bit of everything. That plate of food should have been $4. I paid for my beer and left. Close your doors or get a new chef/cook. They were so busy being loud in the back instead of cooking and seasoning that food. Ruined my taste for bbq today. Dang. Lol good luck rho
I come here every year for my birthday, usually charming and it’s fine that the food takes a bit to come out, but this year was horrible. Took around an hour to have our order taken, once we ordered it took our food nearly 2 hours to come out. Since we’d been waiting forever we let our toddler walk around the patio which was completely EMPTY and a worker came out and made the rudest comments towards us for letting him walk around. Doesn’t seem like the type of way you’d act when your business is failing. Very disappointing and won’t be back.
I haven't been so disappointed in the meal in this town. I'm a big fanatic for Chicken Fried Steak, so went ahead and picked that for my meal. Though the service was great, the staff nice, and the ambience very good, the meal was mediocre at best. The portions are absolutely ridiculous for the price. Puny piece of meat, bland, tasteless gravy(with barely enough to cover the patty), a tiny, quarter cup saucer of over cooked fries, no Texas Toast(!), barely passable Cole slaw, and for $16.00? Gimme a break! What I got was only enough for a snack, skimpy portions, Aaaaarrrghh. What happened to this place?( I'm NEVER coming back
Ordered from Uber Eats and this place came up as a suggestion. Well I was HIGHLY disappointed...how do you mess up bbq? Maybe it was closing time and they didn't give a da**, not sure but it was bad. The brisket was cold and tasted weird. The sausage was clearly old and had been sitting for sometime. Moreover, they packed 2 side salads in the box with the bbq. Called to complain and whoever answered did not care. First and last time eating here.
