Taqueria Chapala Austin Reviews
Good food, and great service. If you go make sure you order one of my favorite dishes Pancho Vila plate. It will satisfy you.
One of our favorite spots on the East Side! We service many of your neighbor's grease traps. Would love to get you a quote.
Great place! Food is always good service is super chill. I don’t even do reviews but I dig this place
One of our favorite local spots. No frills, authentic Mexican food. Always a good meal.
Last Monday after a fun event in downtown Austin my family and I came to this place. We've eaten at many Mexican restaurants in CA and TX; the friendliness of the wait staff here was impressive. The younger waitress patiently answered my questions regarding soup ingredients and what "Chapala" means. She was smiling all the time. The other waitress brought us extra warm tortillas, perhaps seeing we were so hungry. The fried tilapia was tender, juicy, and flavorful. The next day we ate at UT dining hall. The food here is way better than UT dining hall and the staff more welcoming! We sure would like to visit again next time we're in town.
Cute taqueria restaurant in East Austin! Was definitely impressed with Taqueria Chapala! Especially since i’m pretty picky with Mexican food. Got to try their tampiquena plate and their hard shell tacos. While I wasn’t a big fan of their hard shell tacos, their cheese enchiladas and their fajita taco was pretty good! Would definitely get it again. The waitresses were all so friendly and helpful. Pretty great atmosphere overall! I would definitely love to stop by again and try some of their other dishes.
Chilaquiles here were so bomb. The portions were very hefty and generous too. Salsa was delish. I have only been to the chapalas in Corpus and so was a bit skeptical of this one. Did not disappoint. My friends ordered a beef burrito and barbacoa torta that were also cooked very well and satisfied their big appetites. Not too busy on Friday lunch. Service was excellent and came out pretty fast. Will return when I'm in Austin again for sure.
Awesomeness in classic Austin Tex-Mex! About as local as they come, places like this are dotted all over Austin, and you really should check them out. Excellent food, even more excellent tacos, and most excellent chips and salsa verde. Pretty much my go to for comfort food….
Food was decent. Mine looked great but lacked flavor. What made us have a somewhat bad experience was the staff. It was our first time there and the first waitress just stared at us as we walked in. Didn’t greet us, didn’t even ask if we needed help. We had to ask her where do we sit. When she came over to take our drink order, she again didn’t greet us. Just stood there. Didn’t ask us what we wanted to drink. The second waitress was MUCCCCCH better. Maybe the first waitress was having a rough day, but she for sure didn’t want to be there, and made us feel unwelcome.
