The coffee here is simply AMAZING. Thr coffee beans are wonderful, each coffee is brewed carefully and attentively and your order will never be wrong. I am so grateful I stumbled upon this local coffee shop. Its never too busy, but also never empty. I love the atmosphere here, and its only getting better. AND now they have an alcohol bar!!! 🥰🥰🥰 I dont drink alcohol but its so nice they provide both!!

The Hive is one of my favorite coffee shops in South Austin. It’s the perfect mix of great coffee, laid-back vibes, and a true community feel. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick meeting, getting some work done, or just relaxing on the patio, it always feels welcoming. The drinks are consistently solid, the space is comfortable and inviting, and there’s just a good energy about the place. You can tell it’s more than just a coffee shop, it’s a neighborhood hub. Highly recommend The Hive if you’re in South Austin. It’s the kind of spot you’ll keep coming back to.

Went for a few cocktails on a Friday night! What a vibe. Great bar tenders, lots of indoor/outdoor seating. They also putting in a few pool tables, dart boards and golden tee in a few weeks!

Love the vibe of this place ! The drink selection is great and the food was delicious! The bartenders were very personable and attentive! They have a big wrap around bar and lots of outside seating! This will definitely be a regular spot for my husband and I.

Been loving the vibe since the coffee lounge days. This family-friendly loungey wifi spot turns into a whole different scene at night. Really down-to-earth Rockstar bartenders, super sweet, and a little spicy if you ask for it. Jams are always on point, can't wait for the jukebox and pool tables. Lastly, I was very impressed with the cocktail game. Easily the newest go-to bar in Austin right now. Manchaca leveled up.

An absolute hidden gem. The staff is friendly and attentive. The bar itself is so gorgeous and well decorated, I was stunned see it wasn't packed to the gills when I went in. I'll be telling all my friends about this place😁 p.s. thank god they're open till midnight now

Great music, great people, and drinks that are easy to love. It’s the kind of bar that makes you feel like a regular even on your first visit. South Austin magic at its finest—definitely a good vibe.

I LOVE the new Hive! I’m so excited that they’re moving away from all the kid stuff. Kind of hard to enjoy a coffee or beer when you feel like you’re at a daycare. The bartenders seem very experienced and I’ve had fantastic service on the coffee and bar side. The bar has a great moody kind of vibe and it’s very quirky/eccentric, just like how old Austin used to be.

I’m loving the changes they’ve made and the direction they’re going. They built a huge bar and moved the coffee shop to its own part of the building. Now you get kind of a best of both worlds with a coffee shop that feels like a coffee shop and a bar that feels like a bar. I’m excited to see how they progress and what new stuff they’ve got cooking up over there.

Love coming here! The vibes are amazing, drinks and food always delicious. Mark the barista is awesome! So friendly and good to talk to and made my drink perfectly! Even if this place wasn't near my house, I'd make the drive to keep coming here! ☺️☕️

The place itself is small and cozy, and the menu is pretty simple, mostly coffee, a few snacks, and a couple of food options. It’s not the kind of spot where you go for a full meal, but for a quick bite or a coffee break, it works just fine. The coffee was actually nice, smooth, not too bitter. I also ordered a sandwich, and that part didn’t go as smoothly. They completely forgot about it, so my friend and I ended up sitting there for almost half an hour before we finally went inside to ask about it. Only after that did they bring it out. It wasn’t a huge deal, but it definitely took away from the experience. Inside, though, the atmosphere wasn’t quite my style. The interior is noticeably dark, and it felt a bit heavy, so I didn’t feel like staying indoors for long. But the outdoor seating completely changed the experience. Outside it’s much brighter and more welcoming, with a comfortable, relaxed vibe. If the weather is good, it’s honestly a great spot to sit for a while, drink your coffee, and just slow down a bit.

The Hive is so much fun! Awesome coffees, tacos, indoor/outdoor seating, live music, play areas for the kiddos! There is something for everybody and it’s a great environment! I am happy every time I come here!

We love coming to the hive for a cute little girls mastermind. The coffee is amazing and prices are fair. The only issue is if it’s more than 2 people you’re meeting with, it might be tough to find a decent table indoors. There is plenty of options outdoor but with the Texas heat, I think everyone has the same mindset of sitting indoors. It was a group of 3 of us and we could only squeeze into the smallest table that was available. It worked out fine but we were sure eyeing all the others to see if anyone would leave so we could snag a bigger table. There were many single people who were taking up an entire table of 4+ so they could add more smaller tables to accommodate bigger groups. They also were cooking something so I know they have food options too. And there is a food truck up in the front as well. I love that it is women owned.

As a local Realtor with Amazing Realty, I often look for comfortable and inviting spaces where I can meet clients, brainstorm with colleagues, and enjoy a great cup of coffee. The Hive coffee house in South Austin is the perfect spot for just that! From the moment you step inside, The Hive exudes a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It boasts plenty of quiet spaces perfect for relaxing, working, or chatting with friends. The layout encourages productivity, making it an ideal location for Realtors like myself to gather, share insights about the real estate market, and explore the vibrant South Austin neighborhoods. One of my favorite features is the fabulous outdoor space. It’s a great place to soak up the sun while enjoying a delicious drink and catching the local vibes. During my recent visit, I tried the pineapple coconut smoothie, and let me tell you—it was absolutely beach-worthy! The perfect refreshing treat to energize my day. If you’re looking for a cozy coffee shop that fuels creativity and collaboration, The Hive is a must-visit. It’s a wonderful environment that not only supports local businesses like Amazing Realty but also fosters community connections and conversations. I highly recommend stopping by The Hive for your next coffee break. You won’t be disappointed!

Good coffee & friendly service. I reckon I have to come back to experience the non-coffee with the great atmosphere. Atmosphere always increases the star count. I sat outside in the back for a bit & gave my coffee an extra stir. I didn't get to explore what appeared to possibly be a small raised garden area. I'll have to go back to check it out. I also enjoyed a rocking chair on the front porch. Snacks available & some food trailers/trucks outside. Definitely a coffee spot to give a try to see for yourself.

The Hive Review The Hive is a coffee shop primarily designed with parents and young children in mind. The outdoor area is massive, featuring a large playground with slides, toys, and plenty of space for kids to run around. Parents can relax, drink coffee, and socialize while their children play freely, making it a great community spot. Beyond the play area, there’s even a vegetable garden outside, which I hope is used for their kitchen. The indoor space is also quite large, divided into different sections that serve various purposes—some areas are great for working, while others are more suited for casual conversations. One particularly interesting feature is a dedicated conference-style room with a large table and chairs, something I haven’t seen in other cafés. It seems like a great option for small meetings or gatherings. The menu is simple, offering a few variations of croissants and other light options. The coffee is average—not bad, but not the main focus here. This place is more about the experience and atmosphere rather than gourmet food or specialty coffee. The furniture is older, and the design isn’t modern at all, but that fits the laid-back nature of the café. The real highlight is the variety of spaces and the unique setup for families, making it stand out from other coffee shops. If you’re a parent looking for a place to enjoy coffee while your kids stay entertained, The Hive is a great choice.

This place is must for your coffee rotation. The service and atmosphere is amazing. The staff is friendly. I work remote and this place has reliable WiFi. I am on conference calls all the time. One time I was getting over being sick and had 2 hours of calls. The owner brought me chicken soup while I was on a call and cup of hot tea. It’s the little things. This is must try if you work remote

10/10. The service was amazing. The blonde bartender with the pixie cut was so lovely! There are gender neutral bathrooms and the baby changing station has wipes and everything. There is a printer of you need that while using the super fast Wi-Fi. They have a cafe, bar, and middle eastern food truck. They also have a cute little library. There is heaps of seating included some comfy couches and padded baths so if you have chronic pain you can still spend time here comfortably. They have local art and jewelry around the venue as well. There is lots of parking as well.

From the terrain, to the atmosphere, to the employees, life thrives at this establishment. Every employee genuinely looks happy to be here, and after spending the better part of a work day at this venue, I can see why. All of my questions and concerns were answered in a professional and friendly manner and were complemented by a beautiful backyard and a visually appealing interior. To unwind in a healthy way, stop by and grab a delicious cup of Joe!

Great spot, coffee is solid and the staff is great. -1 star for whatever the heck the things they call bagels are. Might be the worst excuse for a bagel I’ve had in my life. Get the coffee cake instead.

The atmosphere and the vibes are impeccable. Food’s always nice and their fridge items are fantastic. Lots of healthy options too! Dinking a star since the new wifi system just did not work for me - tried multiple ways, asked the staff too. Unreliable wifi is a bit of a downer for a coffee shop where I was intending to work out of. I’ve worked here in the past so I imagine it’s a new-ish problem but I do hope they fix it!

This is further south than I would usually venture but I would say a great work from home spot for anyone in South Austin! The staff was really friendly and was able to guide me since it was my first time visiting. It is a great place to work- plenty of tables and even couches. They also have an outdoor area and meeting rooms(not sure if you need to reserve beforehand). I literally came just to work so I got one of the specialty coffees with a little bit of hazelnut added 😉 Plenty of parking, so dont worry about that.

First time here and pictures are very misleading. No orange juice. No yogurt when it’s advertised on the menu. Breakfast options are minimum. And only 1 person attending at the coffee bar. No server. I want to support local businesses. But not like this. Sorry.

Today I came for a coffee and waited 20 minutes and 3 people who came after me were served before me. When I finally got it, the milk was burnt. I handed it right back and they didn’t even offer a refund. I spent $6 to wait and leave empty handed. I want to love The Hive but I consistently have a bad experience. The backyard for the kids was great but now it’s locked from the back so I can’t bring the stroller in.

It all started on a rainy Sunday morning. Hunger struck and the turkey Cajun sandwich seemed the perfect meal, with spinach, pepper jack cheese, and spicy mayo. Little did I know that this meal was full of lies and betrayal. Act one: The spinach As I opened the styrofoam takeout box that they give for people dining in (for some reason?) my eyes opened wider in horror as the spinach I was promised in the menu was completely absent. The only vegetable in the meal had vanished, maybe as an early warning not heeded. When I asked where my missing spinach had gone, she asked me if I wanted it on the side as if I am one of their employees assembling the sandwiches. Next time I order they might as well just dump the flour and all ingredients and send me to the back so that I can make it properly the first time. If only I listened to the warning. Act two: “Spicy Mayo” After the kitchen managed to do the difficult task of putting spinach in 4 ingredient sandwich, I was ready to eat. The first bite I felt a twang in my mouth that no mayo had ever twanged. No hint of any mayo, but the illusory substitution of whole grain mustard, no warning, no information only a half hearted attempt to hide its true identity. With no mayo and no spinach, you would think at this point, only a fool would go on, yet a fool I was. If only it stopped here. Act three: The cheese touch Nearing the end of the sandwich my mind was in a whirlwind of emotion, betrayal, lies and deception had swirled when I saw third and final lie that would prevent any absolution. “Et tu cheese” I said I opened the sandwich in sheer horror. The pepper jack cheese foretold was neither pepper, nor jack. It was provolone. My eyes were to fixated on the absent spinach the first time, that I didn’t see the lie in front of my very own eyes of the false cheese. With that, one sandwich fooled me not once, not twice, but thrice. I can’t ever bring myself to come back again, it’s already made a fool out of me, don’t let it make a fool out of you. And if all this does not dissuade you, the drink are no good and the tip screen STARTS at like 22%. I didn’t heed the spinach’s warned so please heed mine.
