Craft drinks. Rustic interior. Big patio to enjoy a smoke and drinks. Loved the writing on the wall 😍

This place is always happening. It's the premier cocktail bar on East 6th. There's always a crowd during the busy times and there's a great outdoor patio when it isn't too hot to relax. Their stone building with great bartenders makes for a great place to chill for a bit. The music is somewhat loud, but it's still a good place to have a loud conversation. Happy hour 4-7pm takes $15 drinks down to $10

I love this place. They took so much care to make the atmosphere super bomb. The candles with the incense sticks over them to give an awesome scent. The decor is amazing and I feel like I’m in NOLA. The cocktails were so so good. Amazing. I love this place.

Whisler’s is a standout bar offering a sophisticated yet relaxed ambiance, making it one of the top spots in town. With a stellar 4.6 rating, it’s clear that patrons appreciate the wide range of expertly crafted cocktails and the extensive whiskey selection. The cozy, speakeasy-inspired interior gives it a unique vibe, while the outdoor patio adds a touch of charm, perfect for enjoying a drink on a warm evening. The bartenders are knowledgeable and attentive, always ready to recommend a drink based on your preferences. While the price range of $20–30 per person is a bit higher, the quality of the drinks and the overall experience make it well worth it. Whether you're looking for a quiet drink or a fun night out, Whisler’s is a great choice.

Amazing place to hang out! Huge shot out to the great bartenders in Whisker's. Will definitely come back soon!

Went for post dinner drinks recently. Seemed like they only had liquor but everything we had was delicious. Very good vibes - outside was under a big tent as it was pretty cold. Not too crowded on a Thursday and we were able to find a table.

Whisler’s easily earns a spot in my top 5 cocktail bars in Austin. Their Old-Fashioned is outstanding — perfectly balanced, smooth, and crafted with real attention to detail. The vibe is relaxed but stylish, making it a great place to unwind or start a night out. Friendly bartenders, quality spirits, and consistently great drinks. Highly recommend if you appreciate a well-made classic cocktail.

Great place to chill with friends and large groups. We were visiting Austin for 5 days and went here twice. We always found great people to grab a table with. Drinks are certainly more expensive than most areas but that's why you're here.

I have ordered Tierra Amarga and was expecting it to be more sour and fresh (cause of mezcal tequila) but both drink and special foam on top are was kinda sweet to me. But overall was a satisfying drink. Atmosphere was top notch (dim candle lights , vintage bar style and kinda had medieval architecture vibes inside. Was definitely an experience!!!

Classy bar with 1917 interior (formerly Rabbits) creative drinks menu, sprawling rooms, and happy hour. During summer they have 75 cent martinis 4-7 on Wednesdays.

I was walking past when I found this cute little place. Needless to say I was not disappointed! The mezcal bar upstairs has almost an “illegal speakeasy” vibe to it just adding to the already amazing selection and service. Ideal date spot and some beautiful vibes and ambiance. Andy in the mezcal bar had outstanding service and worked with me on tastes and finding the right mezcal for me!

Wonderful character and authentic decor. Walls are covered in signatures, drawings, etc! They even have sharpies available if you want to sign. We sat outside and had seating right away on a Sunday afternoon. Lots of fans and misters available outside. Drinks were wonderful. Wide variety of options for all pallets.

Stumbled into this place while in town and it was such a cool vibe. Once you step inside you'll feel like you're in a hidden gem. The dark ambience gives sneak peaks to the hidden art drawn on the walls. Candle lights flicker to set a nice calming mood while you sip on a cocktail. There are parts of this place I didn't find and only heard about after we left so be sure to explore and not miss anything while you're there. Have to love the nod the man in black himself back by the bathrooms too. Can't wait to come back here next time I'm in Austin.

I love Whisler’s! The drinks here are incredibly detailed, with every cocktail crafted to perfection. You can tell that the bartenders treat mixology as a lifetime passion—they’re true artists behind the bar, carefully balancing flavors with precision. I had one of the best shots I’ve ever had: a tequila, cucumber, and (I believe) sesame oil shot with a salted rim. It was unexpectedly smooth and absolutely delicious. The combination of flavors was unique and worked perfectly together. The atmosphere is also cozy yet lively vibe, making it a great spot for any time of the day. If you appreciate well made drinks and skilled bartenders who take their craft seriously, and the smell of sage, Whisler’s is the place to be! Happy hour has a great selection of $10 cocktails too. Plus a mezcal bar upstairs opened later. Also nice food truck in the back. Make sure to ask for a sharpie to write something on the stone wall.

Super fun and eclectic bar with indoor and outdoor seating. Craft cocktails and very nice staff. They’ll also make you anything based on your flavor profiles too. We loved the cocktail happy hour menu and candlelit ambiance inside.

Pretty great hot spot in East Austin! The vibes are always pretty relaxed and the drinks are delicious! Recommend trying their Echo of a Scream, Ambrosia, and Bed Head drinks. All pretty good selections! Usually doesn’t get too packed, even on the weekends so it’s a great hangout spot. Plus there’s so much outdoor seating.

I brought my company team of ~40 to Whisler's for an after work social event. They were great, accommodating us with bracelets for our group and a reserved space. They have a food truck outside that can provide various entrees and fries. We had a great time here and really enjoyed the ambiance.

What a great cocktail bar! Service was quick, and though it was pretty crowded inside, there was plenty of space to enjoy our drinks out on the patio. I'd have stayed to have another, but the Austin night called. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town!

Classic Austin cocktail bar doubled down as a good hangout spot with loads of outdoor seating. Whisler’s is easily on of my favorite spots in the city. It’s got an old rustic castle vibe that plays great tunes and is dog friendly. The cocktails are incredible and unique. They also have food trucks on the regular apparently. We tried one of the chicken sandwiches from Golden Tiger and it was fuego.

We didn’t know what to expect from the unassuming exterior, but the bar surprised us with its thoughtful décor and great drinks. The patio was packed, the pinball machine added some extra fun, and the real standout was the unique interior and the mezcal/tequila lounge upstairs. The earthy, vintage sportsman-inspired details were whimsical and memorable—we liked it enough to come back twice.

We went here off of the advice of someone at a different bar. The place was packed. I totally did not like it. I'm not going to give this a 5 star rating nor am I going to give this a bad review with a 3 start rating. The crowd is very mixed here. Drinks are very expensive. It seemed that most of the drinks there are overly done and excessively sweet with too many ingredients. As a result this causes massive lines to build up just to get a drink (waited 25 minutes to get 2 drinks). The outside/ backyard is expansive but you'll have a hard time finding a seat. Hope this gave you an idea.

Rating: 4.4/5 [dine in] Our friends wouldn't stop talking about Whisler's $0.75 martini summer special on Wednesdays from 4-7 PM, so we finally made time to check it out. We got there around 5:30 PM and luckily didn't have to wait in line to get in. They handed us two white drink tickets for the martinis when we walked in. The bar inside was packed, and the three bartenders were cranking out flights of martinis nonstop. We had to wait a bit to order and get our drinks, but everyone was chill and patient, so it wasn't bad. After we got our drinks, we headed outside to find a spot. All the tables were full, so sharing was pretty common. We noticed there was also an outdoor bar, which is where we grabbed our second round. The space outside is bigger, but the line moved a lot slower. The martini glasses were on the smaller side, but for $0.75, we weren't expecting much. Surprisingly, the drinks were not watered down so I can see why Martini Wednesdays is such a hit! Cosmo Martini: Not bad--just a little too syrupy and sweet for us. Espresso Martini: Tasty, strong but not overpowering, with a well-balanced flavor. Our friend liked it so much, he ended up ordering four in total that night!

This place is where the hype outweighs the flavor. Big, crowded, and trying way too hard—each $25 cocktail was a messy mix of ingredients that tasted more like a bad smoothie than a drink. Bill was $100 for four drinks and left unimpressed. Cool vibe, but pure hipster tax.
