We love Mi Casita. It's an employee owned local restaurant with a great menu choice and drinks menu. So close to the beach. Our favorite place on the island for mexican food. Service was quick and very nice. Chips and salsa are for charge and bottled water is the norm on Catalina.

They have amazing staff very friendly highly recommend this place. Would be great if they continued the old traditions of the patron bottles I would like to have had my name on the wall when I visited this place. Restrooms could have used a bit of cleaning even though their water system is salt water because of the island. But definitely authentic Mexican food just like moms home made.

We sailed into Catalina from Long Beach and sure, we had food on board - but I’m a big fan of Mexican food and Mi Casita was featured on the Catalina restaurant week. We had to try it. I had the pescado Veracruz, with fresh mahi mahi - chased by a bucket of ice cold Dos Equis Ambar. Others in my party ordered fish tacos, and chicken enchiladas - we were all very full by the end. The staff and service was outstanding: friendly, and attentive. I highly recommend checking it out next time you’re on the island.

We had dinner here on Christmas Day. We ordered their Christmas special which was some prime rib with mash potatoes and veggies, as well as a salad, and second meal was a carnitas quesadilla . For drinks we ordered beer and their own version of Coronarita called Baja Margarita. The food was delicious, the service was great and quick, the drink was good too. They were very busy and even if they closed at 6 o’clock , they still accepted patrons right after that. We have not gotten any tortilla chips like other tables did, not sure how that criteria works, but we were fine without and left with full bellies. Great recommendation if you wanna try some Mexican food while on the island.

Yummy Mexican food. Decor is nice and the staff is helpful. Pretty pricey for Mexican food, however everything on the island is a bit pricier. I would give it a shot if you are craving Mexican food.

Thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance of this place. Had a great booth by the open windows! Tried the ridiculously expensive margarita flight (in my defense, the price wasn't listed on the menu), and I'm so glad I did! The Cucumber margarita was 🔥🔥, the traditional lime was one of the best I've ever had. My husband and I both had the tacos combo with Carne asada and it was divine - just like tacos you'd get on the street in Mexico. Highly recommend this place.

What initially attracted us to this restaurant was the watermelon margaritas. My husband loves them and not very many restaurants have them. We had a wonderful meal and enjoyed our entire time. The restaurant's decor is very Festive, and the ambience is laid back. We ordered street tacos and they were delicious.

We sailed into Catalina from Carnival Cruise. We had all the meals on the cruise but just wanted a good coffee as that was not good at cruise. However, I was totally disappointed with the coffee there as well. Staff was friendly but looks like management was stingy. What caught my most attention was the board," TOILET ONLY FOR CUSTOMERS". This must be the only place I would have seen this. anyway can't say much more about food as I didn't order anything else but I saw around their servings were very big.

Fine experience at Mi Casita. Overall it's an average American Mexican restaurant with the typical fair- don't expect anything fancy. I suspect most people come for the giant margaritas. Food: The portions are gigantic. You can easily split one dish between 2 or 3 people. I recommend the nachos, which were the best dish we ordered due to the copious amounts of cheese on top (which was actually melted all the way, I was quite impressed). The fajitas are quite salty and the burritos are average. The guacamole is alright. Atmosphere is average: the interior is dated and not well maintained (rips in the seat cushions, etc), the glasses are plastic, the cutlery and napkins are quite cheap. The service however is very attentive and extremely helpful! Our waiter came around often and the order came out correctly and quite fast. Kudos to the service staff, they do their job well.

Food is good. Service is okay. Asked for a refill on the chips and salsa (those are pretty good) and they charged us $1 for it lol. The beef burrito has very few meat and it’s mostly veggies. Not many vegan/vegetarian options. I ended up just having a side of guac and refried beans. In therms of the drinks, they’re bomb! Awesome margaritas!!

As a vegetarian, I would skip this place. The chips and salsa is not what one would expect. The chips are stale and the salsas are about average. The Pico de Gallo had no jalapeno and lime 🍋‍🟩, that's weird. The Chile Rellano tasted good but had very little cheese filled in. The rice is not that great. It felt as if it was made of overnight rice.

Shrimp was delicious, cheese appetizer was interesting, margaritas didn't taste like they had tequila in them, and our bill was outrageous (we didn't get a detailed receipt to know why). Location off of ferry and decent views. Service wasn't terrible. I'm glad we checked it out, but I wouldn't love to return, though.

The chips and salsa were great, but the chicken/beef enchiladas were alright, not really worth the high price tag. Also, it was a little odd that getting an extra enchilada costs 5 dollars. We also ordered their special mango drink and it was really that strong for a 13 dollar drink. Also be prepared for bees, it seems like a thing at a lot of restaurants on the island, not much can be done about it. ALSO they charge for water, would have been nice if they mentioned it beforehand.

Service wasn't super friendly, food was bland and overpriced (touristy area obviously). The bees flying around everywhere are annoying, you have to pay for chips and salsa, only get one free beverage refill, and if you wanted to share a meal they charge you $5 to do so, they also don't even have cheese dip (what kind of Mexican Restaurant doesn't have that?!?) Our waitress argued with the party right next to us and was very unaccomodating. They asked to have a drink remade and was told that they had a good bartender and if she wanted it remade she would have to charge for another one, if she didn't like that then she could leave. I would expect more friendly and accommodating behavior from a touristy place such as a restaurant on Catalina Island, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

I guess the place is good for drinks like any other place around. The food was no good, disappointing. We tried the fish options and it wasn’t good. Fish had no flavor. Felt like frozen. We were hoping we would get fresh fish. Service was late. We waited 45+ mins to get our food. I think they were short staffed. So much crowd but less people to serve. Would not recommend. We only liked the Poblano soup. Atmosphere is good.

This restaurant is conveniently located on the main strip and has a pleasant ambiance, but the food was disappointing. The flavors were bland and the portion sizes didn't justify the price. I wouldn't recommend this place for food. The drinks, however, were good and worth a try.
