Original Antonio's Pizzeria Avalon Reviews
This is a cozy little pizzeria on the island, full of charm, with lots of fun historic decor hanging all over the walls and even the ceiling. You have two options: dine in or grab a slice. I chose to dine in and it did not disappoint me. My waiter was a lovely kind lady who made my short stay very pleasant. I ordered a small pizza with mushrooms and a garden salad. The salad was very basic yet fresh and I enjoyed it, however, I wish there were more mushrooms on the pizza. As the photo says it all, there are a few canned mushroom pieces sporadically spread on the pizza. The crust was very much to my liking, neither thick nor thin, perfect thickness. The sauce was fresh and the cheese was very fresh and delicious. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and highly recommend giving this place a try.
The garlic bread with dipping sauce was great. The sauce was sweet at first and then just the smallest bit spicy. Everyone at the table agreed it was great. The drinks have the crunchy kind of ice which is satisfying to chew. The pepperoni pizza was ready quickly and was perfectly cooked. We especially liked the crust and the amount and kind of cheese they used. The cheese had a proper cheese string "pull", which I'm not sure how much that translates to better taste, but this pizza was great. One of the young pizza lovers in our group says it was the best pizza he's ever had. He wishes the cook would give out the recipe.
If you like my comment please click on the ❤️ and show some love 😘 Super Super great Pizza. The service was ok. The Spanish people here are 😬... But other than that yes it was really good, place is really decorated. Yes I recommend this spot to anyone
Sweet and saucy. Lots of cheese. Large pepperoni runs $25. Crispy pepperoni and good cook. Would come again
I absolutely loved this place! The pizza was delicious, and the service from Katy made the whole experience even better — she’s the best! Highly recommend this spot.
This place never disappoints, pizza crust is so crispy and delicious! Service is always amazing as well.
The establishment had a stylish interior, and the service was exceptional. The pizza was especially enjoyable, with a crisp and well-prepared crust that we truly appreciated.
Avoid the comments that say it is not good and try it for yourself. we had a nice family dinner here, the spaghetti was delicious, the pizza was good and the service was excellent, they are very friendly. Speaking about its unique decoration, it is like entering another era in time past. I loved its decoration.
Want one of the best pizza's ever made....PERIOD? Get a chicken, garlic, and roasted red pepper with alfredo sauce. Hands down the best pizza I have ever eaten. YUMMY
Great pizza, and the staff are very kind and welcoming.
Best pizza i’ve ever had in my life. Number one. You have to try it😍, friendly people. They all smile in your face.
Perfect spot for a quick pizza to go! Gluten free pizza was really amazing! Staff was very sweet.
A great little funky spot. The food we had was great for this style of venue. The service was friendly and the food was prepared in a timely manner. All-in-all a great experience. Better than many of the other restaurants on the island. Certainly worth a visit, especially if you love pizza. The peanuts were a nice addition as well.

Looks nothing special pizza, but its so fresh, crunch veggie. I was on tired after hiking, pizza smells so good when we were downhills. My husband was craving for pizza. I ordered supreme Large pizza, It was great choice.
I am so glad we waiting. Stopped here on our cruise. Pizza was absolutely amazing. 10/10 will do it again. Our server Jacob was very attentive and did not have to repeat a thing to him even though they were super busy.
Antonio’s has been in Avalon since the late 70’s, and has had amazing food the whole time. This is a very small, casual spot to sit back, relax, and have great pizza and pasta. I eat at Antonio’s every time I am in Avalon, no exceptions. This is not the Antonio’s cabaret on the water that closed- this is the original location on Sumner Avenue, and it is very much still open!

Love this place! We went there for three meals over our stay on the island. Tried spaghetti, ravioli, pizza, drinks, everything top-notch and well priced. Loved the personal vibe of the restaurant and great service. Highly recommended!
Visited on a Monday night with a group of 10. Were about to be seated right away but was some mixup with another customer who had seemingly been waiting 20 minutes for a table (they must've forgotten). Split our group up between a few tables inside and outside. Service was a little strange/not smooth. Food was good - pepperoni pizza, garlic cheese bread, and small antipasto salad to split amongst 3 people. Plenty of food, took home leftovers. Prices to be expected for area. Would recommend for a simple pizza/Italian meal. They also had slices to go.
I really enjoyed the pizza here, and after a weekend in Avalon, I’d say this was definitely one of my favorite spots. We had the antipasto salad, some hot wings, and a turkey bacon club sandwich, and everything was a hit — no complaints at all! If you’re looking for a quick and tasty bite, this is definitely a place to try.

Honestly, the atmosphere is nice…duh? You’re in Catalina. (See photos) we ordered a pizza and beer. And sat outside until our pizza to go was done. I see photos in reviews of Org. Antonio’s pizza. They look good. Could they make pizzas for dining in better? Possibly. Our pizza sucked. The sauce was like chef Boy R Dee 🤮 There are better places too eat on Catalina. For a quick bite, I guess it would be good I wouldn’t go back

I had the Italian sausage sub. I do not recommend it. The sub was good but the sausage was of poor quality, it was flavourless. Lots of sausage in the meal but I've had cheap hotdogs that taste better. The sausage was just heated up, not hot or grilled.

Avoid at all costs. The pizza is probably the worst I’ve ever had at a specially pizza restaurant. I’ve never in my life had to put salt on my pizza and I did here. The pizza didn’t look good when it came out and wasn’t any better after taking my first bite. Also, the single employee working was poor. He wasn’t helpful when asking questions and didn’t have great costumer service skills. They probably stay in business because they deal with tourists who don’t know better but otherwise, I doubt they’d stay in business. Some other details: I asked for a water and they charged me $3. I got it removed but still fyi. The table next to us ordered coronas, they asked for limes and they didn’t have any. If you sig outside on their patio, you need to order at the window. If you sit inside, you get waiter service.
