Boong's Cafe Avenue A Reviews
amazing home made strawberry jam, HUGE egg waffles with genuine whipped cream and authentic handmade dumplings Fresh! Tasty! Beautiful! Also, real beverages that do not taste like additives, just deliciousness! I love the food here!
Boongs Cafe is amazing!! They have delicious and super fresh egg waffles. The owner is so nice and friendly. They also have homemade drinks. Everything was so good. Highly recommend it and I’ll be back soon for sure!!!
A new sidewalk sign caught my eye on 12th between 2nd Ave. and first Avenue. Could not be happier I stopped in for dessert for dinner. Everything that served at this new Hong Kong/ Korean / Chinese spot Originated from a family members recipe. I had the pleasure of meeting Jin one Of the owners and getting to try her triangle Kimbap. The best kimbop rice I’ve had. The waffle was delicious and the accoutrements for the waffle were insane, the homemade whipped cream and homemade strawberry Jam were perfect. The freshness could not be topped. I knew when I saw the mixer that the ingredients were going to be exceptionally fresh. Prices were great next time I’ll try one of their teas and dumplings! I hope somebody post this on the food blog because this place should certainly have a line out the door!
Definitely the best egg waffle in NYC!! It is hongkong style waffle and the taste is soooo good. Also all staffs are very nice and the store is super cute :)
Amazing waffle and boba!! I had the oreo waffle and regular hot milk tea. The waffle was so good, the cream was fluffy and perfect sweetness. The milk tea is also really good and perfect for this weather!!
What a FANTASTIC place. If you’re strolling the East village be sure to visit Boongs. The grapefruit refresher with lychee was absolutely scrumptious! Candace and the team were super sweet. Can’t wait to visit again.
Lovely place in terms of design, very nice staff, really solid refreshers
Milk tea is delicious and awesome egg waffle :) Definitely visiting again!

Their fresh waffle is amazing. Could eat this everyday🥰
Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside—this HK-style waffle is pure happiness in every bite! Paired with a perfectly brewed Rose Matcha latte To top it off, the lady owner is super friendly and welcoming making the experience even better. Definitely a must-visit spot for a delicious snack and great service! Highly recommended
WOW!!! 🤩 Everything handmade and delicious and so reasonably priced. Waffle was awesome and so fun to eat with homemade strawberry jam, veggie dumplings were awesome (they’re even handmaking their tofu from soybeans!) and super kind owners. I felt greatly taken care of and like this was the greatest treat of all time I’m so glad they opened. This is what the East village should be! Already excited to come back and eat my way through this awesome menu woohoooo!!!!
This place is one of those tiny gifts that life blesses you with. Food is right in point, everything fresh. I tried a hot brown sugar milk tea and my mouth melted away with all the flavor and the dumplings were the best thing in my day. Please come, they make amazing food and they are great people.
My boyfriend and I stopped in to try the bubble waffles and brown sugar latte. Both were excellent! The waffles had excellent homemade whipped cream and homemade jam. We can't wait to come back and try the dumplings!
Decent prices and great food! Had the taro boba, peanut butter strawberry egg waffle, and the shrimp dumplings. I devoured the dumplings. The boba was perfectly sweetened. I would suggest getting a sweeter concentration if you prefer very sweet boba. The staff is wonderful and create such a positive atmosphere. Pleasantly surprised by this local establishment.
The new café is amazing! They have delicious bubble tea and incredibly fresh egg waffles that are made to order. The owner is incredibly friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. Highly recommend checking it out

Good quantity for the price, but beware, the refreshers are soda-based. Got the passion fruit one, was pretty suggary and was carbonated. You don’t usually expect a refresher to be that way. Staff are kind and polite.

I know strawberry matcha has been really popular recently so I popped in to try theirs since the sidewalk sign caught my eye. Super light colored matcha made with an electric whisk frother :( plus the large straw made it so you are drinking large chunks of strawberry. Wouldn’t recommend a strawberry matcha here but I’m sure their waffles are good
