Loved their rasayana and hot chocolate. Need to try their more unconventional lattes.
A small cafe located near to Sankat Mochan Hanuman temple. Lot of option for drinks and samosa served with chutney. We had samosa and hot chocolate with whipped cream, really good and fresh. It is small place, but plenty of spaces to sit outside in beautiful view.
We tried the samosas, chai, and hot chocolate with whipped cream, and everything was really good and fresh. The cafe offers plenty of outdoor seating options with beautiful views.
Wow. We stayed at Mary Hunter + Dov’s yurt (5 mins away) from the Mt. Madonna center and wandered to the cafe when the temperature was a perfect 45*. Our stay in the Mt. Madonna County Park was amazing, but this cafe is what we’ll miss the most. The drinks are delicious, and both baristas we met made them exceptionally well. The lavender hot chocolate, and the reishi got chocolate are amazing. My partner stuck with the Maple Latte, and he had that everyday for 3 days straight. Little snacks will keep you fueled, but it’s really the yummy and inventive drinks that’ll keep you coming back. Great vibes and tidy as well.
Love to grab a warm drink and some samosas in the late afternoon here. For those avoiding caffeine, I recommend the Rasayana, warm milk with a subtle flavor of saffron and cardamom, simple yet flavorful, just right for the atmosphere. Look at the images and captions on the walls as you wait for your drink. Stroll to the attached deck to enjoy the view as you sip your drink.
“5 starts for its location itself, it’s where this cafe located . Have some chai from this cafe and sit back by the view n enjoy. Friendly shopkeeper, not so many eatables available. Beautiful ambiance, the sound coming from the small fountain with Buddha statue just in front the cafe is simply amazing. Such a peaceful environment and below are some of my clicks from this place, please have a look .....,,

Even the cafe looks as beautiful as the temple and surroundings. Amazing how they kept the theme well maintained. The cafe does not serve meals, except for samosas on Saturdays and Sundays. An inspired menu of hot and cold drinks as well as snacks are available. We have ordered Samosa, Ashwagandha Hot Chocolate. Hot drinks are a must try. There is plenty of seating around the cafe and also with the mountain overlook area.
A small cafe at the Sankat Mochan Hanuman temple premises. It is a small place with outdoor seating, and with a view. There are a lot of options for drinks, including chai, tea and hot chocolate, with a lot of variations in the same. As for food, the only option was samosa, served with chutney. There were to-go like protein bars, milk and dark chocolate and other organic goodies. We bought chai, rose hot chocolate and samosas. My husband had the chai and he said it was good. I had the hot chocolate and it was the first time I had one with rose petals on the whipped cream. It was really yummy. The samosa was good too and the mint chutney was a plus. We also bought pineapple and mango coconut protein bars, and a milk and dark chocolate bite.
Best organic coffee on the mountain
We grabbed a chai and samosa at the Anjaneya cafe next to the Sankat Mochan Hanuman temple. It was great to enjoy a warm snack and beverage in the cold weather. The chai was well-spiced and samosa was crisp and freshly made (we visited the cafe soon after it opened at 11am after our temple visit). Nice place to grab a quick bite!
Sara is absolutely fantastic! she makes the best vanilla latte and has the most amazing energy. she makes my day, every day!

I rode my bike up Mt Madonna Rd from the Watsonville side and made Anjaneya’s my destination. A great reward of views, ambiance, and drink after a challenging ride.

RESERVATIONS REQUIRED. We weren't aware this was part of a retreat center. After a long drive, we were turned away at the gate and didn't get the chance to enjoy it.
Some snacks at prescribed times available.

This small cafe serves samosa, chai and other snacks for temple and Mount Madonna visitors. I used to have snacks with family and friends after temple darshan. Over the years, they have grown into a fully money-minded traders. During the last visit, one guy was visually searching every visitors and warning them that outside food was not allowed. He was specially warning visitors with small kids/ babies. The surprise element was that the price of snacks (tea and samosa) was trippled wtihin a few minutes after a surge of visitors at the cafe While, the owners certainly need to earn, it did not make any sense to me how they tried to maximize the benefits.
Sadly u need a reservation because it belongs to a private entity which seems to own the majority of the mountain🙁. We tried to have a coffee during a little day trip from San Jose but not so. Actually more than a reservation u need to attend one of their events is my understanding. Then we thought we can visit the Buddha temple about 1.5mi further down but this one is closed until further notice due to construction. I give only 1 star because I could not see it and I think the reservation issue should be mentioned.
