Hula Hut Avila Beach Reviews
We stopped by for a breakfast in the morning before we left. The staff was extremely friendly and the meal was fantastic. I had the three egg omelette while my wife had the oatmeal. Both I’d have again.
A nice corner cafe for lunch with large windows to look into the beach walk. It's air conditioned too. There are delicious deli sandwiches, soft drinks, coffee and ice cream to enjoy. Or you could browse around the gifts they have to offer. The staff is really friendly and the service is quick.
Pleasantly surprised that a busy tourist cafe would be super friendly, fairly priced and quite delicious ice cream treats!
Lovely little restaurant. Server was so kind, gave lots of good vibes. The food was SO so so good! I would definitely come back here again, and recommend to others in the area.
Great little shop in Avila Beach with great ice cream too. Picked to some lovely gifts
Very friendly staff and the coffee is the best we’ve had in Avila. The roast they use is something else. Check out their fresh baked cookies, muffins, and bars. Also they’ve got great decor in there sectioned by styles and it’s all set up in a very aesthetically pleasing look. Very happy we stopped by after passing this shop the last 6-7 times we’ve been in town cause we’ll continue coming here for treats!
Wandered in while walking the Avila strand. Warning, you’ll fall in love with this beautiful little shop! Amazing friendly staff, ice cream, coffee, pastries all simply wonderful. Unique trinkets to remember your Avila stay. Ended up buying two shirts and some unique note cards in addition to our ice cream and coffee! Became our go-place during our whole visit to Avila.
What a fantastic place! Visiting from Coeur d’Alene Idaho! The lady that rang us up was so nice and had the biggest smile! She needs a $100 an hour raise. (Just do it).
The pineapple express smoothie was the best. Great selection of treats.
The family was having a great time at Avila Beach and we were looking for a place to get something to eat. This place came recommended by our Airbnb owners. We decided to try out this place which was a pleasant surprise. Very conveniently located next to the beach, offers a wide variety of food on the menu and fast service. You can get coffee, dessert or a full fledged meal. They have ample seating inside and outside and they have other stuff for sale. The food is priced reasonably and the portions are fine. Parking can be a nightmare. They accept credit cards but charge a 3% fee which is kind of lame given the items are priced well to absorb that cost. Overall a good experience.
Great pastries, ice cream and other food offerings. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
A great breakfast shop! Service is a bit slow, but the food is quite worth the wait. As you can see from the pictures, they serve everything on tin plates but fill it quite nicely up. The egg breakfasts in particular were quite spectacular, but my favourtie was the breakfast burrito. Not the best I've ever had, but the salsa more than made up for it. Its a good place for breakfast or if you're sake of the other stores nearby.
We were looking for a place to get coffee while we were walking along the coast, and it turned out to have a great boutique area! Some of the stuff is so cute especially all of the ocean themed things. I knocked off a star because I was charged $.75 for whipped cream and I didn't know there was an extra charge. I got a white mocha and a brewed coffee and they were both just average. I would probably get only drip coffees next time as the mocha wasn't worth it. Definitely stop by to look at what they have for sale!
Like others have said, they are not Covid safety compliant. The three students who work there don’t wear masks themselves, they have a loose useless bandana that is open on the bottom and don’t care if customers wear a mask. The store is odd and doesn’t have cohesion nor local goods. You’d think they would stock local products or at least from California but nope. Can’t support that in a small beach town. Their chocolate isn’t authentic at all. The dark chocolate has milk in it so it’s not dark chocolate. I was pleased they had one sorbet flavor with the ice cream but unfortunately it was rubbish. Zero flavor which means it’s food coloring not fruit and chunks of ice. Thumbs down all around.
Bad coffee (blended latte tasted like dirt) and burnt bagel (not even the flavor we ordered). Wouldn’t come back
We ordered 4 fudge squares, but she only bagged 2, we didn’t realize till we left. And we waited 20 mins for our food before someone from the back came out took our copy of the receipt, and then we waited again for our food to be made (but the food was great)
Went to go get ice cream with my family, family of 8 we had a guest come from Virginia and experience the most RUDE SERVICE IN THE ICE CREAM SIDE. She is the tall blonde girl and I would say the owner as well!!!!! Extremely RUDE!!!!! Never again will I go in there. Very disappointed.. they say us Latinos and felt discriminated against!!!
Might as well get punched in the face. We spent over $150 on food and clothing to have to deal with their hispanic rude unhappy cashier. She was being rude and aggressive with customers seems she isn’t happy about her life and takes it on customers. She was arguing with me about a request for a spoon and was not happy I was speaking English. She kept pushing her spanish on customers that do not speak the language. What a horrible experience and person to deal with. Go to Avila Market, larger selection happier people.
One of the worst sandwiches I’ve ever had in my life. I did the "build your own" option, and the thing I hate the most is that they didn’t mention anywhere that bacon was an extra four dollars, until you get to the register. The bread wasn’t even toasted, and I ended up paying almost $20 for the most garbage sandwich ever.
Do not try the “milk tea boba” and the service was horrible. There was a man and a younger girl that took our orders and made them. When the boba was handed to us, the color of mine which was bubble gum flavor, was the color of green food coloring before it is mixed with anything. That is no exaggeration. When I went to taste it, it tasted nothing like milk tea, and very watered down. I took one sip and that was one too many. I went to let them know it tasted like there was something wrong with the drinks, they didn’t taste like milk tea. The girl was not friendly and went to tell the man. He abruptly walked to the register to give me my money back, and I asked if I could have two orders of ice cream instead. I was happy to pay any difference. He tossed the money back in the register and slammed it closed. He said, “ Give her two tiny scoops of ice cream.” With that type of service, I don’t know how they remain open. They were friendly enough to the people in front of and behind us, so I have no idea what the issue was. We obviously won’t be going back there.
