about the only place you can find open on a weekday or weekend and this was a Sunday an open after 2:00 p.m. and very very enjoyable tasty food for a reasonable price. the menu is extensive. the coffee is real coffee that smells good and even taste delicious black.

We happened upon this quaint restaurant traveling home today. We decided to give it a try. My husband and I both ordered breakfast at 1:30pm. Both of our meals were great! He had the country skillet and I had a mushroom and Swiss omelette. It was hot and fresh. The waitress had a friendly sarcastic personality which we really liked! She was fun! Service was quick at this time...restaurant wasn’t too busy. Overall we had a great experience and if ever in the area again we will stop by.

This is such a nice place. The service is perfect. They came around enough to keep the coffee full and not around too much that we couldn't talk. Perfect! The food was really good too! I end up going here once every few months or more, and they don't disappoint.

The food sat under the heating lamps for extended period of time my meal was lukewarm and not very good friends milkshake took 20 minutes to receive, pasta dish noodles dried out and bland flavor. Even with our complaints only milkshake was credited because owner was not there to approve anything else. Took 50 minutes for our food to come. Both of us ended up with bad stomach problems and couldn't eat regular food for 3 days. This place used to be a favorite spot of mine friendly, good food. Don't know what happened but I will not recommend or return to this establishment ever again!! Oh we weren't the only ones with problems there, alot of people were on lunch breaks for work and I saw 2 that had to leave before their food came. Sad to say another place off my list.

Went back the other night for the first time in a while after rough and slow service. I can say our server was amazing and the food was even better than before. Thank you so much and we look forward to coming back.

Stopped in for a quick lunch and was so happy we did. Our waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable. I ordered a smorgasbord omlet minus peppers and that's exactly what I got. Most places i go to don't get it correct The food was superb, made to order and arrived at our table the perfect temperature 🌡. My husband had the French dip which was also wonderful We will definitely go back when we get Back in that area.

This was our second time eating here because the food was so good the first time. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. All food is homemade and delicious. I got the Turkey dinner and it was more than I could finish. The butternut squash was amazing. The touch of cinnamon really brought it together. This time I got the hot Turkey sandwich. Nice thick pieces of Turkey with real potatoes used in mashed potatoes. Homemade gravy was so good. My husband got the fried chicken and it was nice and crispy. I considered this a high end dinner at great and reasonable prices. Went back on Mother's Day for breakfast. It was good. Western Omlet perfect. Not dry like a lot of them usually are. Fresh fruit was nice. Pancakes fluffy and cake like. Hash browns were nice but I prefer crunchy and overcooked. Staff excellent again. Food came out fast. Great job staff!!!

After attempting to go grab some Chinese Food and being turned away because they only accept Cash. I arrived here at Peppermints. First time and the atmosphere was inviting. I was alone and took a seat at the counter. I had a delicious Turkey Dinner with a Mashed Potatoes and Tomato Soup on the side. The food was good hit the spot. I would recommend it again to anyone in town looking for dinner. ****On a Plus I liked seeing the Two Tesla destination chargers on the building always good to see businesses welcoming the future.

My aunt, mom, cousin n I went for dinner. We waited a long time to get our order and when we did get it it was amazing. BUT when we got our bills the one server was very rude. Rolled her eyes at us and got very loud. Then gave more attitude when we asked questions as to why our slips were incorrect. When my mom asked for change she got loud and gave attitude again. Very unprofessional. Our original server did give us free desserts but in the end it doesn’t make up for how rude others were.

It's all good in here! Let's face it, you can't beat diner food for breakfast. And all the IHOPs and other chains can't hold a candle to a good old mom and pop diner in food taste and value for the money. Peppermints is no exception to this rule. They actually know what an egg over medium is which in my experience is pretty hard to find. I've tried a lot of their food and there's nothing bad on the menu, but my favorite for breakfast Is the country skillet... I love a good skillet anyway, but I've never seen one anywhere else that tops it with hollandaise sauce. Yum! And they have the best onion rings I've ever had anywhere. And I mean ANYWHERE. I have been known to order onion rings with my breakfast because I hate to miss an opportunity to get them. *It loses a star because the bathroom is always freezing and has no warm water and is never as clean as one would like in the stalls. If you don't have to use the bathroom here, this is a five star diner. *I didn't think to take a picture of the country skillet so I am borrowing one from a online review*

I'll be kind. Food had pretty good flavor. Service was very slow. The dining area was very hot, humid & smelled like fish. It was busy prior to us but slowed down, as did the waiting staff. There was only 3 families in the dining room and people who came in after us had their food served first. Staff was very kind. It's is a "Family Restaurant" so be sure you have time to sit and visit and enjoy your meal.

It's been years since I visited, it's a typical small town diner with nice portions and a good atmosphere. Service was pleasant though, my order was wrong. Wasn't a huge deal, ordered scrambled eggs got over easy, but the server was attentive and made sure my coffee cup was full(more important to me than the egg mix up). Would certainly return on my next visit to Avon.

Nice, clean. Clean restrooms. Nice and simple menu. Not fancy, but it's grub. Very friendly! Love that they offer real maple syrup. Toast a little over done? But overall, our table of 6 enjoyed our visit!

My husband and I stopped here for a late lunch, I had chicken wrap which was good, but the fries were cold. My husband had chili and he ordered French fries, but they brought him home fries instead. Coffee was good! I should have listened to my husband and went to Tom Whals.

The service was fine, the hostess was patient and the wait time for our orders was not extraordinarily long. There were five of us on 2/5, which was a busy Saturday morning, at about 10:00. Of the five, four of our meals were over cooked. The pancakes and home fries were good. For some reason, we were all served seconds on drinks. Isn't it customary to ask first? Suppose one wanted something different, or didn't want another one.

The food was ok at 11am they were out of what I wanted so I had to go with something else. And the floors over by the bathroom are really sticky and in need of a good cleaning.

Nice restaurant with good food but they need somebody in there who is in charge of the place. The first time we went, it was like the waitress forgot we were there. Took our orders and forgot about us. I went up front to see if i could please get my coffee. Took forever to get our food. Decided we'd try it again last week. We were totally ignored until we got up to walk out. Decided to stay, because the food is good, but the people sitting at the table next to us, waited forever. Couldn't get coffee refills or anything. The waitresses are friendly, when you can find them. Nobody seems to know what is going on. Very strange.

Service was friendly and prompt. When the server noticed my husband was drinking a lot of water she brought a pitcher without us needing to request it, which was greatly appreciated! The food, unfortunately, was only okay. Hubby had the French dip and I had the Reuben and both had extremely tough meat. There were pieces of my corned beef that were almost sharp it was so over cooked! Thankfully it had good flavor so I finished it, but the cook was bad. We're not local so unfortunately we won't be able to return to give them a second chance, but if we did I definitely wouldn't get a sandwich.

It's a cute little old school Greek style dinner/cafe in Avon which is not too far from Rochester (NY). Clearly been around for a while, but assisted to be well maintained and seemed clean. They have a pretty extensive menu. I got the bang bang shrimp 🦐 app and the French dip with sweet potato fries 🍟 and a side salad 🥗 with ranch dressing. The shrimp app was OK, but nothing special. The side salad 🥗 was also OK. The French dip was ABSOLUTELY hammered but the sweet potato fries 🍟 were good. Kind of a mixed bag. 🙄 My wife and our local friend split the buffalo chicken pierogies. I got to try one and they were pretty good. I would have preferred a buffalo/sour-cream sauce vs cups of both. My wife got the Ruben sandwich with sweet potato fries 🍟. It looked OK, but she says the corned beef was WAY over cooked. Our friend got the open face meatloaf sandwich with mashed potatoes. It looked like a typical dinner meal... meat on bread with a side of taters and all covered in gravy.

I ordered scrambled eggs, and they weren't scrambled well as they should be. There were white parts and yellow parts. The food is OK. The entrance needs a heavy cleaning and some other areas need cleaning and updated. The bus trays are visible with dirty dishes when you are waiting to be seated. An inexpensive wooden wall could be built so as not to expose used bus pans.

The building is worn, ceiling stains, torn upholstery, yet is clean. Staff is very friendly and helpful, I would give them a 4! Food was fine. Hamburgers were not cooked to requested temps...both were well done. Good flavor.

We went specifically because we had a coupon and the coupon wasn't accepted which was frustrating. Service was slow and we had to ask for enough silverware for everyone and get our own highchair and booster. We were not offered refills or dessert. My food was burnt. Our daughter ordered Spaghetti and meatballs. This include 1 meatball and the spaghetti was sitting in a pool of water. We used to come here somewhat regularly because it was a casual atmosphere which is great with young kids. But the last few visits have left us very disappointed.

It was 91 degrees inside, we got the wrong appetizer, we asked for more drinks and never got them. Very long time for food and check we ended up just walking up front to pay. Just a terrible experience all around. The only positive was the food was good.

Have been eating here for 25+ years. Went with my mother for a late lunch. I ordered the Fish Fry, slaw, fries. The fish was clearly not fresh. Batter wasn't crunchy at all. Fish was cooked but mushy. Fries were undercooked and rubbery Slaw was good. Mom had the Turkey dinner which was clearly sliced deli turkey. Both plates had pieces of (romaine) lettuce that looked wilted. Service was good and the restaurant was clean as usual. Sad to see so many corners cut with the food. It was edible but nowhere close to what it should be.

A little pricey for the quality and atmosphere. Very cramped in back dining area if you are seated at a central table, you will constantly be moving and getting up from your meal to get out of the way for other diner’s and wait staff to get around being the only way to the 10 or so tables you are blocking . I got to my meal and it was freezing cold because of the constant interruptions and with nowhere to move to be out of the way you feel like you are a sitting duck. Some of the wait staff also seem to have mood swings, at first they are very forgetful and short with you, forget to say excuse me when bumping into your chair and spilling your water all over your face, but by the end of the visit they seem to remember to be the nicest people I’ve ever met!!! I wonder why? Very obvious to everyone as well!

Unfortunately I have to change my review due to an incident that I recently experienced. I went in on a Sunday to take my friends out for their birthday which they wanted to go to this place. We did not know they close at 4. The waitress made us feel like a major inconvenience. My one friend has a speech impediment. Which the waitress mimic her. Way out of line. We could also hear her with the other workers making very rude comments like, I don't care if they're done eating, I'm locking the doors. And several other comments. When I asked for a receipt, she slammed it down on the counter. We will not be going here if this is the service that we will get.

Eggs Benedict were horrendous. Thick, gloppy sauce, a HARD cooked egg yolk and burned, tough ham underneath. Home fried potatoes were nasty- both gummy and unchewable all at once. Will Joe be back.

I ordered a Reuben sandwich and only got overcooked corned beef on the bread. No sauerkraut or dressing. they need to change their oil onion rings and my husband’s french fries came out dark brown. Instead of planning events in the future, you need to work in quality of food, won’t be going back.

I wasnt expecting a lot but the egg of my omelet was nearly paper thin and the menu said it came with cheese but it didn't, therefore all the peppers and ham fell out. Home fried were greasy, they left puddle of oil on the plate. Service was a bit slow due to not many for staff. My brother did get his drink refill so that was good. All in all... ok... but i would rather not go back.

Haven’t ever eaten here before but we were in town for a sectional high school football game and didn’t want the usual fast food. There were 30+ cars in the parking lot, so we decided to try the family style restaurant. It was Friday night and the fish fry odor heavily permeated the atmosphere. Ok, it’s a western NY thing so we were seated and tried to ignore the fish smell. Menu was decent and had plenty of choices. My partner had the hot roast beef sandwich and I had the chicken and biscuits. We ordered the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. The mozz sticks arrived and we bit into one and it was still cold and stiff. Not hot and melted any at all. We broke open a second stick and it was the same. I flagged down the waitress and asked her to take them back because they weren’t done. Meanwhile, the main dishes arrived and we dug in. My partner immediately said her roast beef was horrible and fishy tasting. So I tried it since she had a head cold and her taste was off all day. Sure enough, it was sliced deli meat that was rubbery and fishy tasting. I’ve had hot roast beef before and it’s usually textured like beef, not rubber. We asked for a to go box because it was only fit for the dogs at home. We were very disappointed in our $60 dinner. The only reason this place doesn’t get the 1 star rating is due to the biscuits in the chicken and biscuit dinner being decent. Oh and to top it off, our drinks were never refilled the whole dinner. I sat with only ice remaining for the remaining third of the meal. Never going back to this place!

I ordered the fried chicken then waited 30 minutes for my food. Then I flagged down my server and she then informs me that they our out of the fried chicken. Would I like to order something different. When I said no and just wanted my check she acted like it was my fault that they didn't have what I ordered.terrrible customer service just terrible.

And wife ordered Buffalo chicken Pirogies not fresh $35 wasted for food I can get out of trash can better not sure if all there food is like this but for me and family we will never go here again one of top5 worse food I ever had and I was in Military so it's saying alot

First off, the waitress was absolutely amazing. Trying her best, could tell she was over it too. We came in, the couple next to us left because their food the onions weren't cooked, other parts were soggy . Their baby screaming because she was hungry. A party of people had burnt food. The manager came out... basically said the head manager was here, but in the office. Then, came our turn. We had 3 children with us.... the adults food came out first. Then, they brought out one childs food. The pancakes didn't have chocolate in them. They went in the back, and threw chocolate chips on top of it. Waited and waited. They completely forgot our other two children's food!

Eat at your own risk. We went for breakfast on a Sunday morning. We stood at the counter we over 7 minutes. Literally watching the wait staff run around with their heads cut off. Did not seem busy and not many cars in the parking lot. Either way. We ordered mozz sticks and coffee. Coffee came out we didn't see our cheese sticks for 25 minutes while waiting for a refill on our coffee for 15. We ordered eggs bacon no toast. Asked for the bacon crispy. Also got a blueberry waffle. Esther brought our food out toast in the plate and bacon was underdone. The waffle wasn't blue berry. She takes it back and tossed frozen blue berries in a hot waffle?!?!!?!? $45 for basically nothing cooked right. No wonder diners are dying.

One of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. I went to the one in Avon. My table waited a little over half an hour JUST for our order to be taken- it was not busy at all. The waitress, Alyssa, was unapologetic and honestly, not friendly. The food was greasy and gross, my table of 2 other people and I were severely disappointed and disgusted with this establishment. We were seated next to the waitresses station and saw people drop dishes on the floor and place them back on the shelves. Ew. One of the people at my table ordered the French dip sandwich- it comes with a bowl of au jus- and it smelled like and tasted like maple syrup from breakfast (we went for dinner). Do they not care when they wash their dishes?? We also overheard a different waitress remind our waitress that she hadn't helped us yet after our half hour wait- instead of nice service we were greeted with a "you ready to order?" The only good part is that McDonald's is right next to the place so at least I didn't have to go home hungry. I did not want to finish eating the food they served. Maybe I went on an off day, maybe not. Regardless, I will not be recommending this place to anyone.

This used to be our favorite place to eat. Not so much now. Tater tots were cold and burnt. Our waitress was pleasant but wandered off and forgot coffee. Hot roast beef was just warm and very little gravey. I asked for french fries on a separate plate as I didn't want gravy on them, but they were on the same plate. When we asked for something , she said I'll be right back with it and never came back. Went to find her to get our bill, and all the servers were up front talking. Much as it pains me, we will not be back.

My husband and I, used to eat here all the time. Literally two or three times a week. The food was always consistently good, as was the service. Since the new owner has taken over, we've tried it four times, and three out of the four times it was absolutely horrible. The one time that it was good, was when we had breakfast. I'm not the kind of person who usually posts reviews and specially bad reviews, but I just have to say something. I got the cranberry walnut chicken salad, which is always been a great favorite of mine, and I had just gotten it a few weeks ago at the peppermints in Henrietta, and it was delicious. My salad had dried up rubbery pieces of cold chicken, the Mandarin oranges were just like pieces of Pulp. The lettuce was not fresh, and the walnuts were soggy. My husband got the buffalo chicken mac and cheese, which it also been a great favorite of his, and it was like soup. It was so disgusting he couldn't eat it either. We ordered the loaded fries, and the fries were like freezer burned, it was like one little pinch of cheese, a couple of pieces of mushy bacon, and no gravy. We asked if we could have gravy on it, cuz that's what the menu said it came with, and the server brought the plate back that literally had a drizzle of gravy added. On top of that, my salad plate had dirty fingerprints all around the edges. The buffalo chicken mac and cheese was served on a plate instead of a bowl, because the server said that they were out of bowls. It wasn't even busy, and serving it on a plate would have been okay, but like I said it was just like soup, and the chicken was not even warm, and it was gross and rubbery like the chicken that had been put on my salad. No restaurant is perfect, and we try to give everybody a second chance and the benefit of the doubt, but this is it for us. We're like 35% tippers, and we spend a lot of money out, so it's their loss. We have never seen a manager there like there used to be when Chris owned it, maybe they need to have a manager there to make sure things are done right. I'd give it zero Stars if I had a chance to.

My husband ordered Hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy.The gravy tasted like straight up garlic.We told our waitress,she was great.She let him order something else.He ordered pancakes and eggs.First bite of eggs he bit into egg shells.I ordered eggs and home fries.Home fries looked and tasted like they sat in the refrigerator for ever!my daughter ordered chicken parmesan.It was burnt with sauce straight from a jar.Very expensive food that wasn't edible!

The food is always bland, burnt, lacking ingredients as described in the menu and small overpriced portions. For the most part the wait staff is meh…..ok but after my last visit for lunch the lady that waited on us had such a rude tone lack of awareness and clearly didn’t want to be there. The only reason people eat at this place is because it’s local to the Livingston County area.

Stay away. You will be disappointed if you have ever been here in the past.

Went out for a family breakfast with our little one and was severely disappointed. Took 20 min for our waitress to even get to our table(which I understand happens because I too serve ). Then was even more upset when we got the food. Raw onions thrown on our home fries. Home fries were mush , even when we asked for crispy. And my poor daughters pancakes were burnt to a crisp on top , rubber on bottom. We are not picky people. We rarely even complain. But this was unacceptable . We immediately sent our food back and paid for our drinks and left .

My husband had a dish corn that was sour. And spoiled, I ordered onion rings. That's one of my sides and there was an Upchurch. They didn't tell us about had a fish fry. That was dry and thin like paper and couldn't eat it. She managed to take $7 off. The total bill, which was $28. Places dirty the service was not good and we're not happy.

20 minute wait for drinks. 45 minutes for food. Not busy. Food was not cooked. The home fries looked like mashed potatoes. Pancakes were burnt on one side and undercooked on the other. Horrible experience. Possibly the worst breakfast at a diner I’ve ever seen.

The food I got for my family and I was all around terrible. None of it was even fair to call decent.(I’m guessing it’s the cheapest foods premade and microwaved for the customers) Very disappointed in spending my hard earned money here:/

I have had the chicken, biscuits, and gravy in the past and it was really good. My wife brought me home some tonight and it was inedible. The biscuits were so hard that you couldn't begin to cut through them. I thought it was a joke. There wasn't any vegetables in the gravy as well. Certainly not as described. I'm not sure what they are playing at. Sad.

Corn beef hash was just complete watery mush, pregnant wives eggs weren’t close to cooked properly hash browns weren’t even warm when coming out and not close to cooked. Waitress was friendly and did her best but that’s about it.

Had worst breakfast. On Saturday, my brother and I stopped for breakfast. It was not crowded but service was awful. My breakfast consisted of just lukewarm eggs with shells included, bacon that was probably from last week, inedible an d horrible home fries also inedible. Toast was good though. Would have complained but waitress never came back to our booth. Cold coffee, very few creamers, horrible service and food. Obviously will never visit that restaurant again

Silverware is greasy, stained and have pitting in the metal, menus are covered in syrup and food 🤢, booths are cracked and held together with tape, potatoes undercooked, bacon overcooked. Not sure whats going on but whatever Henrietta location is doing right needs to be brought to the Avon location because this is bad. Sorry 😞

I ordered a chicken salad. It was awful. The chicken was over done, the lettuce was old, and the cheese on my salad was sliced up Kraft cheese slices! The hostess was less than friendly. When I paid the check, the waitress said she didn't have change and only gave me a dollar back, minus the change I was owed. Not happy. This used to be a fairly decent restaurant - not anymore.

My family and I decided to give the restaurant one last chance after a bad experience last spring. Well this was the final straw. The food was horrible, my husband got two bites of his meal and couldn’t finish it. The service was lacking to say the least. We were forgotten about in the back of the restaurant on a slow day. My husband’s coffee was forgotten about and it finally arrived as his meal was placed in front of him. That was after a few kind reminders. It used to be a wonderful place to eat.

We just had a big family get together for a late breakfast buffet. The original price quoted was 18.99 per person. The food was 5.00 a plate quality. The floor of the back room was disgusting. So sticky that I didn't want to get back in my truck. The family bathroom was so filthy that I passed on using it. And then to top it off, they charged us 30.00 per person, including to children who didn't even eat. Hope they close soon before the health department and IRS get hold of them, as they requested cash for payment.

They need a new cook. This is the second time I’ve been disappointed with the food. I had spinach and feta cheese omelette with home fries. The potatoes were slivers mixed with giant sized pieces leading to a mix of greasy with dry. The omelette I bit into shells twice and at that point I gave up. My husband left most of his too and he had the country breakfast. Best part was the coffee.

Got a garbage plate today Mac salad is basically paste salad. The potatoes are left over breakfast potatoes not home fries. Burgers are hockey pucks. The hot sauce? Literally just ground beef All around disappointment. Almost anything would have been better than this. The container was basically falling apart because of all the oil/moisture they put in it…. Will not be back. So sad to see this severe drop off in quality so unexpectedly.

Unfortunately we probably will not be back. The western bbq chicken wrap was no longer on the menu along with gyros I had the combo appetizer and the chicken was over cooked and the mozzarella stix were under cooked. My mother had mushroom chicken and she said it tasted like the opened the can of mushrooms and dumped them on not even sautéed.

This is the second time we’ve been to this restaurant. The first time was for lunch. The food took a little long, but it wasn’t bad and the price was okay, so we decided to give it another try. The second visit was for breakfast. There were two of us. One ordered bacon and eggs with toast, and the other ordered sausage and eggs with toast. After 40 minutes and three cups of coffee, our food still hadn’t arrived. We left. Cooking bacon and eggs should not take over 40 minutes. Our meals were nowhere in sight. On top of that, the booth we sat in had both chairs taped up, so you’re basically sitting on sticky tape that is falling apart. It takes away from the atmosphere and makes the place feel patched together instead of like a nice family restaurant. I would not come back here again. It was a waste of time for food that is average at best.

Service was fantastic, however they clearly prioritize quantity over quality with the food. The breaded shrimp and the appetizers had very little flavor. I was hoping the loaded fries would be my favorite part however like everything else I found it to be very bland. The standout was the corn that tasted like they hadn’t even added anything to it, not even butter. My friend ordered their chicken fingers and they were very dry and bland. Overall, despite our server being very kind, the food was very disappointing and honestly ruined our experience.
