La Comedia Azagra Reviews
We saw Murder on the Orient Express tonight for Valentine night out with friends. Dinner buffet has a good variety of food to choose from. Table service for drinks was good. Our server was very attentive and friendly. The play was very well acted with a good mix of mystery and comedy. The set and costumes were excellent for the period depicted in the play. The cost is reasonable for dinner and a live show. We all had a great time.
We went to see Singin' in the Rain at La Comedia Dinner Theatre last night and it was SO good. Like, laughing-out-loud, “wow they nailed that number,” kind of good. The cast absolutely crushed it. The comedy timing? Spot on. The dancing? So fun. The whole production just had that old-school, feel-good magic. I would 100% go see it again — and I don’t say that lightly because I’ve got things to do and snacks to cook. If you haven’t gone yet… schedule it. Get the tickets. Make the night of it. Go see it. Now. It was fabulous. 💛
Absolutely spectacular experience from beginning to end! We have been loyal audience members for 37 years, and the production of Scrooge was beyond outstanding. The food is always delicious and the shows are always fantastic, the entire place is truly a hidden gem near Cincy. Highly recommend!
Just saw Scrooge and first time here and everything was top shelf. The musical was done with the upmost professionalism. The service was excellent and the food, buffet style, was tremendous. Definitely will come back.
Took my family here for their first time. Everyone was stuffed at the yummy buffet & intermission desserts. We loved the sets, costumes, & performances of "Scrooge". As they sang, 🎶 Thank you very much 🎶
This place was great from beginning to end. We'll organized. They did a phenomenal job seating and feeding 400 people . That was how many people attended the musical scrooge that we went to see. Everyone we came in contact with that worked there was extremely friendly. We sat at table H35 which was great for us little further back still we could see and hear everything with no problems. I seen reviews with people complaing of the sound system. We didn't experience any thing like that. We could hear all speaking and singing parts and they sounded great. The lighting was also done extremely well. As for the food it was delish. This is not a gourmet restaurant it's a dinner theater with a buffet that had a very good buffet. Yes they do call you up to eat in a order that keeps it organized. Again that was part of why we were impressed with the organization of seating and feeding 400 people. We were closer to the end to go for the first serving and there was still plenty of food. Didn't go for seconds. I piled up my plate the first time..lol In our opinion we are lucky to have a place like this so close to us. And are already planning are next visit to see murder on the orient express and the wedding singer after that. Congratulations to all the performers the show was very enjoyable and you all did a wonderful job. Also a quick shout out to our server sorry we didn't get her name but she did a fabulous job as well.
This place is absolutely great! Loved everything about it! The buffet is excellent and lots to choose from. If you want to sample everything, it won't fit in your plate. You can go back for seconds after everyone has been thru the line once. The show was wonderful as well. Could hear all speaking parts but singing was a little loud. We were at a show on first day performance, so they may tweak that day by day. Will definitely go again!
If you haven't visited La Comedia since the new ownership began in late 2024...... Then you haven't visited La Comedia. We are long time season subscribers. There are some inflationary pressures that have made their way into this experience. BUT, The new owners have done a great job of protecting the quality of the experience and keeping the price the same. The food has been good, service gotten even better and the shows have been FANTASTIC!!!! NO.... For real.... THE SHOWS ARE GREAT!!!
Lacomedia is such a magical place. Its so great to have an affordable option to see quality productions with excellent food and caring staff. My waitresses have always felt like family; taking genuin interest in our experience past and present. My son has grown up here and I can't say enough good things.
Wonderful experience - decent food, pleasantly surprised by the cast, good place to sit with friends and enjoy their company. Only slight issue was parking - not enough for the amount of people in attendance. Some of us had to park near the sign or on the side of the road leading into the parking lot, and getting out was a pain.
Not many places left that offer a meal and a play. We saw " Scrooge, the Musical" and they did a fantastic job. The food was good and was served buffet style. They had a variety of meat and veggies including their Sweet Potato Souffle which is always delicious and various types of bread and rolls. The only issue I have with the meal, and the reason I gave it 4 stars, is they serve you such a small portion of the signature meat that you may as well skip it. At our meal, they served ham that was carved for you. The piece I was given would have fit easily into my 2 year old grandchild's palm. It was delicious, but extremely small. The staff was great and extremely helpful. Keep in mind, this is also a theater so the lighting is dim and there are many levels. It is handicap accessible but there are also a lot of steps. Overall a very good experience.
Came for Scrooge. Was supposed to be with my wife, wife was ill so got to bring my youngest daughter. Positive - Outside and inside the building was very nice, inside was decorated for Christmas. Each table has a little lamp and the regular lights are turned down which makes it nice and cozy. Staff was very nice with good customer service. Enjoyed turkey/stuffing, mac/cheese, mashed potatoes/gravy, ect. Although it was all good, some of it did seem a little on the high salt side(we dont add salt to anything when cooking so it could just be us) and I will presume the show will be good(been before a few times and have always been good) im writing this as we are waiting for the show to start. Negative - only bad thing i got is the front door and control of the line. You got the big spinning door in the middle and two small doors on each side. You are seated and invited to the food line by how you put your name in and people let other people in those side doors and people that have been waiting get pushed back. Need to find better way to control the line. Maybe not open outside door till righ before you open inside door. May return next year.
Very nice welcoming and accommodating staff on entry. Show was entertaining and had great effects. Actual table waitress was very distracted, never brought my coffee, did not invite my table for seconds. Luckily the host made a “last call” for the Buffett. I paid cash for drinks and expected change back and then to leave a tip which is customary, waitress disappeared, kept the paltry change and never returned so never received her actual tip?! Bring some hot sauce for the food, tasty and well cooked, but not a seasoning or herb to found, not even a hint of garlic. Perhaps to appeal to a wide audience but still very bland. Famous sweet potatoes tasted sickeningly like lucky charms. The rest was fine.
I was given a gift certificate to come here, which is a great idea. Seeing the 80s stucco exterior initially did not give me high expectations. The building is deceptive as it seems smaller outside, but when you enter you feel like you just got into the tardis police box. We were seated quickly and the waitress was quick to offer quite a few drinks and at a value too. The feeding format of buffet was an efficient machine. You’re allowed to pile on the plate but they do actually offer seconds if your hungry enough. It is understood most of the shows are a truncated version of the original using talent that are a mix of local and burgeoning. I enjoyed the show, and although they do have season tickets I think I’m still gonna stick to just doing individual shows for now.

I’ll have to say this was my last visit to La Comedian! I threatened my last visit would be the last but we’ ve enjoyed it in the past so I decided one more try. At a 175.00 per couple you expect bet…
We saw "into the Woods". Wonderfully entertaining. We enjoyed the buffet, the service was good. The venue is beautiful.
The performance was great. We saw Matilda and the actors were excellent but we couldn't understand them very well, don't know if it was the sound system or what. However if you come for the food I wouldn't recommend it, it is quite subpar. The sweet potato souffle is extremely sweet, other items are tasteless. The chocolate cake also extremely sweet, very dense and hardly edible. The only thing I liked was the ham. For the price, it's not a good value.
Too dark to eat. Server was mostly absent. Did not introduce herself. Orient express show not very good tonight. Most shows are very good as is the service. Staff did not look very happy to be working. Maybe better next time.
I recently visited La Comedia in Springboro with a friend. As always, the performance itself was enjoyable, but be prepared for a fairly long evening--it is a full dinner theater experience.\n\nThe m…
The food was excellent. It's a buffet and the food was fresh and hot. The musical, The Jersey Boys, was not one that you'd want to take kids to. The music was excellent but ,especially the first h…
The parking was a nightmare. I would have thought for it being a staple in the area it would have had enough parking. The seats were uncomfortable and very dated. The best thing I had was the sweet potatoes. The mixed drinks were very watered down. I got an old fashioned and it tasted like flat sparkling water with a hint of bourbon and cherry. I sent it back but still got charged for it. I would not recommend getting a drink unless it is wine maybe. When I told the waitress it tasted badly she gave me a very rude look. . The performance was good which was the main reason we went. Because the actors and actresses were so good, I would go to another dinner theater, just not at this place unless they change and update a lot of things. It was also nice seeing people actually looking good out for once. I always appreciate people not wearing sweat pants and looking homeless at places like this.
The theater itself is very lovely! I wouldn't recommend coming here if you are hungry. They have the oddest setup for the buffet, were servers inform each table when they can get food. In theory, I can see the logic behind it, but if you are the last group to go, most of the food is gone. It was not a good first impression. The show itself wasn't bad, aside from minor technical issues like the microphone and lights malfunctioning. However, from what I saw, the cast delivered an entertaining performance. We were evacuated because a fire alarm went off during the performance. I'm not sure what happened that night. We bought this as a gift for my parents, and honestly, the experience was not good. If you are considering this among other options, I would choose another option.
wish i could rate 0 stars worst experince ever NEVER come here they dont allow to have your own table all the employes are beyond rude and the food is disuting and it smells like someone died
Went for Murder on the Orient Express, show was good. Food wasn't the best but also not the worst. Could be some improvement. But overall what killed my review was the service. The server was extremely overwhelmed for what she needed to do. My first drink took 45 minutes to get. I never saw her until the show was about to start to order a second drink. Which I did not get until an hour and half later during intermission. My wife never got her second round of drinks she ordered before the show was over. I paid and left due to not wanting to sit and try to explain we never received drinks. Unfortunate since this seems like a extremely nice place.
They tell you to arrive at 5pm but don't let you into the theater until 5:30. The buffet is first come first serve which is totally inefficient when serving hundreds of people. The wait staff is over worked due to the inefficiencies of the standard operating procedures. They take 2.5 hours for dinner service which is a ridiculous amount of time. The show doesnt start until 8pm and not over til about 11pm. So, you're looking at spending 6 hours in one place for a 2 hour play which amounts to 3 flights to Florida for one dinner show. We left because of the inefficiencies and disregard for time. They really need to upgrade their SOP and learn to be more efficient and respectful of people's time. The venue is nice but to sit and wait and wait and wait and wait is ridiculous. They should go to Dixie Stampede and learn how a dinner show can be ran more efficiently and lucratively. A complete waste of time and money, LITERALLY!
Food was cold. Not up to temperature at all Salisbury was odd no gravy shaped like a meatloaf cut and strips that felt like Styrofoam the only thing hot was the fish and the gravy potatoes taste like they were made from water. Carrots not even blanched. Cheesecake bites had a metallic strawberry artificial flavor topping. Very disappointed for all the great reviews the show was fantastic
Attended Legally Blonde, as usual, food was phenomenal. BUT, play for our taste was not. The underlining meaning was exalting alternative lifestyles. I have no problem with others lifestyle chosen as long as it is not pressed on others, considering, I have friendships with both men and women choosing this lifestyle. I ŵill, compliment the performers for superb acting, some of the best. But the quality of of the sound system was sub par, which is fault of ownership. We have attended La Comedia performances many times over the years and this has been the first time we have been disappointed. Will continue to attend, but more research on subject matter of play.
