California Pizza Kitchen Bakersfield Reviews
We had an amazing time here the food was awesome and the atmosphere was great
Our server Bailey was an absolute gem. She greeted us with a smile, remembered us from previous visits and brought warm bread and our usual iced tea. She was attentive throughout our meal, which was delicious, and I noticed she was just as courteous to all her customers. Good food, clean, inviting atmosphere and GREAT service. 5 stars
We had the lunch special. I got the Thai Pizza and the crunch Thai salad. Wonderful, so good. They had some good happy hour offerings that the server didn't mention. Also, we had to wait forever to get a box to go and for our bill. The restaurant was not crowded. It was fairly empty, actually.
The only thing I return for at CPK is their kung pao spaghetti. If you love spice & pasta, this dish is for you. On average, the best dishes I have ever eaten, I rate 8-9 out of 10. This dish is a 10/10. I always order it with chicken because it has the most indescribable texture, in the best way possible. I can only describe it as very lightly breaded in flour for added texture. The sauce… (possibly the best part about the dish, & equally indescribable in taste) has so many depths of flavor. And they get the taste right every time. You just can’t find that level of culinary mastery anywhere else! The first time I tried this dish was back in 2019, & I haven’t stopped craving it since. It is a staple at CPK. I hope they continue to keep this item on their menu, because it will surely keep me coming!
This review is a little different than my normal ones. I am reviewing California Pizza Kitchen at Riverwalk, but it is the online ONLY portion for the food. The service and atmosphere I'm reviewing when I went to CPK and talked to the staff. The food I am reviewing is ONLY available through Door Dash. You cannot get it through CPK otherwise. Man vs. Fries. That is the name of the food I'm reviewing. You can find the restaurant in other locations, but not Bakersfield California. Friend of mine ordered us dinner. $26 burrito. Worth every penny. I reviewed a $12 burrito the other day and was disappointed about the price. I will gladly pay the 26 for this one. The only way to describe this burrito is to say it is delicious. It has a multitude of flavor and you can taste each and every ingredient. Get one if you like great tasting food. Next, the service and atmosphere. I went into CPK to ask why I could not find this on their menu. The lady I talked to was very nice. She explained about the Door Dash ordering and was very helpful. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was peaceful. I highly recommend ordering via Door Dash and getting Man vs. Fries.
It was our first time eating at CPK, and it was SO DELICIOUS!! The pizza was amazing and they had so many different kinds, stuff that I wouldn't think to put on pizza. The Carne Asada pizza was to die for. The crust was soft, and there wasn't too much or too little of anything. Even the kids loved it. My two year old ate his whole pizza by himself, and he usually doesn't. I definitely recommend this place, and hope they build one closer to where I live soon!!!
Loved the happy hour drinks, dumplings and Mexican corn. The Bolognese spaghetti had hardly any beef so probably would not get that again. The steak salad was ok (didn't like the potatoes or the tomatoes). The butter cake flight was meh, sadly the maple bacon one was the most disappointing. Thanks to Alejandro for making our first visit great with his attentiveness. Overall, would return.
Went to CPK to celebrate Hearts Day. Service was good as we quickly seated. Server was responsive. Answered questions regarding menu options. Appeared to be sincere and engaging. Food came out fairly quickly. Presentation was nice. Stay away from the corn nachos; not as good as it looked. Overall, the selections were good for the price that was paid. Desert was okay. Red Velvet is always nice but doesn't compete with Nothing Bundt Cake Red Velvet cake. Pizza is always a staple.
Good place to go grab a variety of pizza's, salads, and entree's. Staff is always friendly and food always tastes great. CPK has been around for a while yet they manage to keep their menu fresh by keeping the old favorites and mixing in some seasonal new items. They also offer takeout and curbside pickup.
I went for my birthday with my parents and some of my siblings. The servers were extremely sweet, and the place was beautifully decorated. The main thing was the pizza, and I bought a Hawaiian pizza. The pineapple was extremely thick, and it seemed like it wasn’t even cut. The ham was really chewy, and it seemed like it was from a can. My brothers got mushrooms, and the mushrooms for them were also not cut. They were like just mini full mushrooms. The crust was very thin as well. The food was really expensive too. Overall, this place was a solid 3/5. The food was honestly not the greatest, but the experience of it was pretty enjoyable.
I thought the food here was pretty decent. I walked in around 5pm on Monday when I walked in place was mostly empty. I looked around everyone looked like they’re just waiting on their food for the most part. I came with my 4 year old immediately got served drinks. It took the waitress over 15 minutes to come back to take our order and I was STARVING. Didn’t even have bread yet to hold myself til the waitress came back. She had a big table about 14 people and was being very attentive to them. While I was waiting.. she NEVER CAME BACK. Eventually I asked another waiter his name was Aaron if he can take my order and he did AMAZING. He didn’t even have to check on us after but did. Made sure we had bread and were very great and understanding after I apologized. I was just very hungry. The waitress that was supposed to tend to us she has straight reddish hair in a pony tail with big glasses. She seemed like she was “busy.” She barely came to our table seemed like she didn’t want to be there. Checked on us once after I asked if someone can take my order. Didn’t even stop. Continued to walk past me while she asked if I was good. Very rushed when handling my table. I didn’t appreciate it. I don’t know if kids drinks could get refilled but didn’t even bother to refill my son’s drink. Aaron checked on us, got us cheese and was so patient. I really liked his service. Especially serving a table that wasn’t his. GREAT JOB.
Went tonight excited to try the restaurant for the first time. We were here for 25 minutes without being acknowledged servers constantly passing and they didn’t even take our drink order. Just ended up walking out and going to a different restaurant. Disappointed to say the least
Went in to watch the game at their bar, which was empty. The restaurant was not busy and I just wanted to watch the game at the bar with some apps and drinks. I sat there for nearly the entire 3rd quarter on 9/4/2025 and nobody even acknowledged me. The hostess sat me and brought me an appetizer plate and said the bartender was Josue... nobody ever showed up. I walked out and went to a different restaurant. Thanks for nothing CPK!
