Acapulco Ballinger Reviews
I've been coming to Ballinger on and off since 2011 and I only ate here once. Today, some friends and I decided to go for lunch. I forgot how good it was. The beef enchiladas were great and the lunch price isn't bad. It even comes with a tea. The salsa had a good flavor with the right amount of heat. I heard it's been at the same location since the late 1940's. If you haven't been here yet, give it a try. They are closed on Monday's. Open at 11 am and closes at 2pm, then reopens at 5pm. I'm not sure how late they stay open though.
Great local family run restaurant. Excellent tex-mex

Great local family run restaurant. Excellent tex-mex
First time eating here and we will definitely be back! Great food great service and it was clean! The owner seems like a nice guy!
Love eating here!
Me and my wife like eating hear. Food is great and prices are fair. The owner is great.
Acapulco Cafe is an absolute gem! The family-friendly atmosphere and outstanding service make it deserving of a Michelin star. I highly recommend it! 😄🌟
Best Mexican rice and rewrites ever. We ate all of both, which we never do. Chili rellenos and enchiladas were excellent. Chips were also excellent.
I love this place!! It's the only place I eat when I'm in town working. I always feel like I'm in my moms kitchen when I'm here. The food is great, the family that operates it is amazing, and you can't beat the $8 lunch specials. (Includes tea and tax. I love that part!)
Wonderful little Mexican restaurant with very friendly owners and family. We came with a friend who said the restaurant has been through generations of their family and their steak beef fajita quesadillas looked delicious. I had the Mexican dinner and my husband had the Millie’s special. Everything was delicious and prices were very reasonable.
I love to eat here when I'm in town! The owners and the staff are so personable. I love the cheese enchiladas. Quesadillas and salsa is good, too. Historical building.
Fried Catfish was out of this world! Cooked perfectly, large thick portions. Totally awesome, friendliest family staff! You will not be disappointed! They do have evening hours, open til 9 Just needs updating here.
Very friendly folks. My order was kinda weird due to dietary restrictions, but they were cool about it and wanted to make sure they got it right. The chef even came over and told me all the ingredients! Food was excellent!
Excellent lunch today. Had the sour cream chicken enchiladas. Food was hot and tasty. Red sauce was full of flavor. Service was speedy and waiter & chef were most accommodating. The chef made some spicy green sauce for my husband and gave us some to take. Will be back here again on our way from CO to TX. Oh...good Tejano music playing as well.
Best kind of experience. I’m in town for work and stopped in looking for something quick—ended up finding one of my favorite spots. The staff is incredibly friendly, the food is amazing, and the vibe is unreal. Locals are hugging the waiter and even the cook—this place feels like family. I’ve got three more nights here and I’ll be back every night. Great food, great people, great prices.
Love this place!! Best place to eat Mexican food in Ballinger Texas!! It's a hidden gem! Reminds me of my Mama's cooking! If I could give them 10 stars I would!! Even my Dad who is 86 yrs old loves this Little Restaurant!
Amazing home cooked food family ran, passed through on our way back to amarillo.

I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and the Duarte family traditions are still as good as they were then. Good authentic Tex-Mex food in a friendly inviting atmosphere. You won’t be disappointed!
Great experience. Please stop by if your looking for good food at a good price with great customer service. Stopped on my way through and will definitely stop again if I can.

Got a sudden craving for some Mexican food! Seeing all the cars outside we decided to stop in at Acapulco Mexican restaurant in Ballinger, Texas. Lots of chattering locals but felt very comfortable and inviting. Chips and salsa were on point! Food was delicious, portions were plentiful and service was impeccable! Definitely recommending this small, historic little diamond for some down home good food. Was a Pleasure! Rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Didn't offer dessert or it would be 5 star! #TravelTwixEnthusiast

Staff worked very hard and very friendly. Enjoyed talking to them Food good and very hot plates
Food here is more gross than all of Texas.
Fajitas had little flavor. Beans and rice were good. They must have an ant problem. There were ants crawling on the chip basket.
The food was ok, but way overpriced. Portions were small. I ordered nachos and they hardly had any meat. I. Asked for more meat and they charged me for it. They even charged me for city tap water. And it was hot in there, a/c was not working good. We were disappointed ☹️
