Floyds Beaumont Reviews
We drove from San Antonio to Louisiana with a layover in Beaumont. Highly recommend Floyd's gor a good cajun creole meal.
This location is one of the best of the 3 locations I've tried... maybe that's just me. The food was great ..server Brandon was nice.. but it was a little slow on getting the food.. even though 3 of 4 plates were exactly the same. The one with the jambalaya was x 3. I would certainly return!
I was in on the hunt for some gumbo. So I did a to-go ordered of the Shrimp and Seafood gumbo. The serive was speedy. As soon as I figured out how to get to the tookout parking spot. I parked, looked down to gather my things to go inside. Soon as I looked up to open the door. A nice employee was already at my car. Talk about quick service. He verified me, went back in and came back in no time with my order. I don't think it was busy. I don't remember that young man's name, but thank you. The gumbo was OKAY. I could not tell the difference between the Shrimp or Seafood gumbo. The both looked the same. One seemed to have a bit of chicken it. They may have been the difference or they where both Shrimp gumbo 🤔. Idk, however I eat it. The bread was good
Tony was our server! He was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the company he so proudly works for and the food he serves. Dawg shrimp and butter sauce is on point. Steak and shrimp on rice were on point. The food was beyond our expectations, but Tony made our experience that much more memorable! This is the place to come, even on a Monday! This is our company go to place every Beaumont trip. Thanks Tony and Floyds for creating a company trip staple!
We waited about 20 min to be seated, they were very busy. We want some people waiting hour for a seat. Karen was our waitress, she was great and the food fantastic. How do you recommend the alligator bites for appetizer? They are always perfect, and the gravy is amazing.
Eating here right now for lunch. This lightly grilled catfish meal with homemade sweet potato fries, tasty hush puppies and garlic french bread is spectacularly delicious!!! Nanci, waitress is most attentive and cordial too. I would highly recommend coming here for your Christmas parties, any other special occasions and/or lunch/dinner. We have actually been coming here for almost 20 years!!😋
It was a great Experience. Im glad we went. Our waiter was Anthony he was Amazing! The cheesecake is worth it! We tried frog legs. Blackened was better than fried. I didn't really care for the batter they use to fry things in. Like the frog legs and boudin balls. But the boudin was good. The jambalaya was great, no complaints. The etouffee was also good it comes with white rice. If I get a chance to go back I would order the alligator as an entree. The Alligator and cheesecake was my favorite. If you go ask for Anthony!
Yesterday we celebrated my friend’s Birthday here. She suggested to eat at Floyd’s . It is a Cajun restaurant. The food and the service is outstanding. We ate the blackened salmon with gnocchi and different kinds of oysters. The gnocchi is made here from scratch , the salmon was cooked to perfection and the size is very generous. Mr. Willie grilled our oysters and they were amazing. He also gave us a complementary taste of his fried rice.My mouth is watering up just thinking of it. It should be on the menu! They offer a variety of desserts, and they are available to view and choose from, presented on a dessert table. We ate at the bar, and the service by Ms. Vanessa was excellent. We were treated as family. The decor and lighting evokes a sense of warmth, authenticity, and the vibrant spirit of and the Louisiana. The lighting is warm and inviting. The food was delicious, the service was exceptional and the atmosphere was delightful. Thank you all for the wonderful experience! Definitely coming back!
This was my family and I's first time visiting. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, the service, and the food. I can't remember the guy's name that was our waiter, but he did an awesome job with delivering food and drinks and anything else we needed. I really enjoyed the Seafood Gumbo and the Seafood Courtbillion. I love seafood and gumbo so I had the best of both worlds lol. I highly recommend this place to eat at. We will definitely be back.
We had the Fisherman's Stew and the Scallop appetizer. They serve buttered bread as a table side. The fisherman's stew is a good light meal. Not heavy. Lots of different seafood flavors. For me, it could use a little more salt or seasoning. The scallop appetizer was my main meal and was really hearty and flavorful. The rice absolutely absorbed all the sauce. The mushrooms and creamy sauce were so yummy. Our waitress was super helpful with recommendations as it was our first time there on our way from Lake Charles to Austin. Will definitely stop by again.
The Dirty Martini was so refreshing with the perfect mix! I followed it up with a dozen of raw oysters, which had a very fresh taste! The only downfall on the oysters was that most of them had a good bit of shell in it when you would bite into it. On the other hand, the Crab Bisque with rice was good as always!
We stopped at Floyd's on our way home. I had the steak, shrimp, and a loaded baked potato. The steak was tender and juicy. The shrimp were cooked well. My baked potato was a little under done. It had a lot of butter, a bit more than was necessary. My daughter had the bar trash grilled cheese and fries. She said it was very tasty. My husband had the catfish and onion rings. He said it was very good. We also tried the fried calamari and spinach and artichoke dip. The fried calamari was good. The spinach and artichoke dip had crab meat in it which gave it a very fishy taste, it was ok. Our waitress was very friendly and took good care of us. Overall, we enjoyed the food and service.
I opened the menu and was so excited to see Fried Green Tomatoes and corn. Oh, did we have a good time! I'm not a seafood eater but they tried Fried alligator, Calamari, Grab Stuff Shrimp, Crab, Shrimp and Fish. Back up, the warm butter bread they serve was simply delicious 😋. The server was very pleasant and knowledgeable. Thanks.
This was a last minute find, but a terrific one regardless. Everything that we ordered was really good. Portions were generous for the price and the service was great. They also substituted the crawfish out in a couple of dishes we ordered with no up charge. Will definitely go back if I am in the area again.
My wife ordered the stuffed redfish ($27) and she was disappointed in her choice for several reasons. The “crab stuffing” was cool to the touch and had a mediocre flavor. The redfish filet was good and cooked properly. Our waiter was attentive and gave us good service, however our table was near the rear of the restaurant next to the kitchen and there was a prevailing unpleasant sour odor. We decided to relocate ourselves until the odor was no longer noticeable. Our food was served in a timely manner and the orders were correct. I ordered stuffed grilled shrimp and they were tasty but not as good as previous orders of the same entree. The overall experience was a little disappointing because we were entertaining out of town guests and unfortunately our dining experience didn’t quite live up to our expectations. We intend to try Floyd’s again and give them another chance.
Was in the area for works. Floyd’s came up with some good reviews. I stopped in for lunch. It’s a good size place just off the highway. I was there when it just opened. I ordered the lunch catfish etouffee (crawfish). They serve some buttered bread before the meal comes out. Didn’t take long for entree to come out. It looked great. I came to find out looks can be deceiving. The fried catfish portion was pretty good. It was the crawfish etouffee that was just bad. I love crawfish etouffee and get it a lot when I eat out. It just had a very bland bad taste. I can’t really describe it. Seemed to be cooked ok but just didn’t taste good at all. I had to smother it with hot sauce and tarter to slug it down. Very disappointing. Good things where the service was good and it’s a neat place inside. It really filled up quickly so there must be some good items on the menu. I saw a lot of fried seafood come out. My dish however wasn’t good.
*** UPDATE! Packaging fees! No where did I see this posted, and I finally see it on my receipt after I tipped. To go is now a cost of doing business. I hope the $5.30 is worth losing business over. We ate in the restaurant and it was really good. Pleasantly surprised at how good everything was. The portions were large and priced really well. The next night we went back and got more food to go. The alligator was really good as well as the calamari. The crab was cooked really well and was delicious.
Food was edible but just ok. Shrimp on the little Lafayette platter were very small. Oysters on the Oysters Lafayette platter were extremely small, especially for the price. Jambalaya was bland lacking seasoning and salt. Bread they brought prior to the meal looked like old reheated breadsticks and lacked flavor. All of the workers we interacted with at this “Cajun seafood” restaurant were Hispanic. We couldn’t really enjoy the Cajun music that was playing because we were seated near the kitchen and the base thump from the Tejano music in the kitchen was loud. We will NOT be back. This is NOT the Floyd’s that I remember from the past. No wonder there was no wait on a Saturday night.

Floyds in Beaumont: A Cajun Mainstay with Standout Flavors
Down here in Beaumont, Floyds has been a local institution for almost twenty years, serving up Cajun flavors just off the highway. It’s a good-sized spot, and it fills up fast, proving its enduring appeal to those looking for a taste of Louisiana right here at home. When Floyds hits, it truly shines. Floyds: Beaumont's Cajun Gem with Service as Hot as the Gumbo
You know, there are places in Beaumont that just feel like home, and for anyone craving a true taste of Cajun country, Floyds is absolutely one of them. Nestled right here in town, it's become a go-to for so many, and for good reason. My first thought whenever someone brings up Floyds is always the service. It's just consistently phenomenal. I heard a story recently about someone doing a to-go order for their Shrimp and Seafood gumbo. They barely had time to get out of their car in the takeou
