Floyd's is always a great experience to gather with friends and family to enjoy great food and drinks. I've hosted many celebrations such as baby showers and birthday parties. My last visit was no different. I enjoyed a rib eye steak with a loaded bake potato and their dirty rice! I sipped on a their popular hurricane Floyd cocktail! Service was great! Our wait was only 5 mins. and our wait staff was attentive. I'll definitely will be going back!
We loved everything we tried. The oysters with pico on them awesome. The crab boulettes were great. We got them blackened. Of course we had to order a couple dozen oysters on the half shell. I wish we were in town longer so we could go back and eat there again. Definitely worth the stop. We will be back.
The first place I go to eat when I travel to Beaumont. Everyone from the hostesses and wait staff are friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. For my visit this weekend I enjoyed a half order of Oysters Rockefeller and a cup of gumbo. The oysters were excellent for the gumbo was what I had been waiting for. If you are traveling to Beaumont, Floyd’s is easy to find on the service road of I10 just west of Washington Blvd.
Family went today and ate here and the food was Wonderful and the Service was Absolutely Spectacular. Our waitress Page(Hope I spelled her name right) had to be hands down the Best Waitress I have ever had.We will be back.Great Time at Floyds!
So we ordered an appetizer and two entrees the appetizer was fried pickles and the entrees were oysters Lafayette and the dozen oyster dinner with dirty rice. The appetizer was very good 5 out of five and lightly breaded and the seasoning was immaculate very tasty with the ranch dressing that they served it with. The oysters Lafayette was served very well nice and hot cheesy oysters baked in the half shell and the texture was very good and it was all cooked through and it was very tasty. The dozen oyster dinner was well done the oysters were breaded and fried and the only sadly disappointing aspect of the meal was the dirty rice which felt like it needed more seasoning and wasn't quite Cajun spiced and was a little greasy. All in all definitely would recommend and I look forward to the next time I go trying out more of the dishes.
Largest menu selection I've seen at a resturant of this type! 6+ pages and specials insert. Pricey and a long wait on a Friday, but OH SO WORTH it!!!! Delicious! ALL types of seafood with Cajun flair, as well as crawfish, farm raised catfish and gulf shrimp! They bring a basket of French bread while you wait, which is yummy and the service is OUTSTANDING! Only thing better is the FOOD! The menu is online, so you can look it up and be ready to order when you get there. Try it once and you'll be hooked - i promise you won't be disappointed!
This restaurant is a all around 1st pick for me... Any time I get a chance I will stop here for a meal... The wait staff is amazing, the atmosphere is great sand the food is delicious. I haven't found a dish that I don't like yet... I love it here and I'm sure any one of you would too...as long as you want a good steak and or seafood!!
In town on business and we knew we wanted seafood and also something Cajun. Our choice with Floyd’s did not disappoint in the slightest. This has to be some of the best Cajun food we have tried thus far. Everyone in our party was thrilled with the service and the food. We have agreed that we will be coming back when on business again. Too bad they don’t have a location in the DFW area because I would visit more often than I probably should!
I stopped by for lunch. I had an enjoyable meal. I entered and put my name on list for a short wait. The hostess then directed me to a table. The restaurant was was busy but the waitress was attentive. I ordered the boudin boulettes. They were very tasty. The main course was fried alligator with onion rings. This was also enjoyable.
I can't tell you how much we love this place- food is amazing. My husband gets the crawfish etouffee EVERY time we go as he loves it so much. The raw oysters are fresh and tasty as well. And let's talk about the platter of garlic bread they bring to you when you sit down - it's amazing and even better if you ask them to grill it. Can't say enough good - you just have to try it yourself!
🤩 wowwwwwwwwwwwww OMG !!! If you have not tried Floyd’s you are missing out big time! We saw this location while we were driving to Lake Charles and said that we would try it on the return. Gumbo - Seafood Baked Oysters 🦪 Shrimp Platter 🍤 Crab - Blue bbq I can say that the Baked charcoal oysters were amazing! The best I have had in my life. the charcoal makes it different for sure. I am already craving it back again. The Seafood Gumbo was so so ... like nothing amazing or special. Would not order as it can stuff you up. The shrimp platter was a great... like all options are available for you try out and the mashed potatoes were to die for.... Now the Blue Crab and that amazing seasoning... I was in Food Heaven for sure!!! Our server Kathleen at the Bar was amazing! loved her energy she was so positive and attentive... If you enjoy seafood please stop by 🤍🦪🍤 you will not regret. Very clean and fresh!!! Great Job on management.
Great place for oysters. Had their raw oysters over a dozen times and I keep coming back. Diego is the best bartender
I enjoyed the food, service, and staff! Their bread is amazing. For me, I had a cheeseburger with french fries. Best thing I've ordered since! Their burger buns are by far delicious! Tastes sweet! I'm just glad that I ate here with my relatives! Would recommend! Thanks!!!
Good food amazing service! Diego is a great bartender. 1 star for atmosphere because of the constant loud country music
Cajun review of a Cajun MUST EAT place! I am Cajun French and it's really hard for me to try restaurants that purport to have Cajun food. This place is a must try! I took my family there for dinner one evening, and there's something for everyone even those that don't eat seafood. Great ambiance, excellent service, I highly recommend!
Came here when visiting from out of town. Stopped in 3 minutes before closing, but never felt rushed or quality was impacted. Had cup of chicken and sausage gumbo to start, bread was complimentary, house salad, and shrimp etouffee for main course. All the food was very flavorful, fresh, and service was outstanding. Will return next time.
Floyd’s food is so good. The new Avery’s Catfish meal was the bomb. The crab stuffed jalapeño was delicious with just the right amount of heat, you could also get Jalapeño stuffed with boudin, but I’m happy I choose the crab. The fried alligator had a good flavor and was well seasoned. They serve free garlic french bread that is really good, we even ask for more. They have plenty of seatings and friendly servers.
Floyd's was recommended by several of the locals, and Im glad I tried it. They have an impressive selection of cajun, seafood, and bar food. The oysters are fresh and delicious. The poboy was giant and filled with catfish and crawfish. It was so good I had to get a couple of items to go, and they were very generous with the portions when I ordered the cup sizes to go. The service was friendly and professional, and they have a nice atmosphere. This place is worth every penny.
This is my absolute favorite place to eat in beaumont! The food is always fresh and prepared perfectly! Page, who was my server was friendly, kind and knowledgeable on all of the wonderful items on the menu and my glass was never half full! I can’t say enough great things about Floyd’s, do yourself a favor and go experience it for yourself! Keep up the good works and God bless
This is also the first place i recommed when asked. I recommend it when im not asked! Food is phenomenal. Yry to go home woth a doggy bag,
More of a family style atmosphere but really good food and service. Ate Snapper but really enjoyed the appetitizers, we had a couple of types of oysters with cheese. One was Parmigiano and the other had cheddar and a touch of a sauce on it, both were excellent. Garlic bread they bring out is amazing
Stopped in at Floyd's for and early lunch on Saturday, since it had been a while since we'd eaten there. Food & service was great, as I remembered it. Hubby had dozen fried shrimp dinner with baked potato. He kept saying how fresh the shrimp were and that the shrimp batter was the perfect combo of seasonings, flour & cornmeal. I had my all time fav: blackened grilled catfish served with melted butter and a side of green beans. (I ordered a half order because a full order of 3 filets would have been too much for me.) Wonderful!!! The garlic french bread served upon our arrival was warm, fresh and buttery. Thank you Floyd's!!!
We tried Floyd's for the first time a couple years ago while on the way to Louisiana and have come back several times since then. Great selection of high quality Cajun style seafood dishes. Lots of baked oyster options which are all excellent and the gravy they serve with the alligator and chicken fried steak is good enough to eat with a spoon. Can't go wrong with any of the dishes here.
Wow, just wow! I’m surprised this place does not have a 4.8-5 ⭐️ overall rating. Too bad we didn’t come here hungry because I wanted to try other dishes as well. The grilled oysters with crab meat and the crab bisque were hands down the best! Vanessa was awesome, she gave us both recommendations and they were spot on. If you’re reading this, you aught to try this place!
Literally everything was amazing! The oysters, alligator, crab cakes, corn, and everything included in Uncle Ashbys. The crab bisque was the best part though. The pecan praline cheesecake was so delicious. Not too sweet even with all the caramel. Highly recommend eating here whenever possible!
Floyd's has become my favorite. When someone asks me where I want to go, Floyd's is my answer. I have never had a bad server, they are all great. My top pick from the menu fluctuates but honestly it's all great. Right now my favorites are the top shelf Margarita, the Shrimp Diableaux and the Potatoes Floyd. If someone forced me to give a critique then I would say the bread could use a little bit more garlic butter. I'm in my happy place at the moment ☺️
Had some excellent oysters on the half shell at the bar. It was happy hour so they were $1.50 apiece For happy hour. Also ordered some dirty rice on the side. Everything was very good. Oysters were very freshly shucked. Perfect.
We drove from San Antonio to Louisiana with a layover in Beaumont. Highly recommend Floyd's gor a good cajun creole meal.
This location is one of the best of the 3 locations I've tried... maybe that's just me. The food was great ..server Brandon was nice.. but it was a little slow on getting the food.. even though 3 of 4 plates were exactly the same. The one with the jambalaya was x 3. I would certainly return!
I was in on the hunt for some gumbo. So I did a to-go ordered of the Shrimp and Seafood gumbo. The serive was speedy. As soon as I figured out how to get to the tookout parking spot. I parked, looked down to gather my things to go inside. Soon as I looked up to open the door. A nice employee was already at my car. Talk about quick service. He verified me, went back in and came back in no time with my order. I don't think it was busy. I don't remember that young man's name, but thank you. The gumbo was OKAY. I could not tell the difference between the Shrimp or Seafood gumbo. The both looked the same. One seemed to have a bit of chicken it. They may have been the difference or they where both Shrimp gumbo 🤔. Idk, however I eat it. The bread was good
Tony was our server! He was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the company he so proudly works for and the food he serves. Dawg shrimp and butter sauce is on point. Steak and shrimp on rice were on point. The food was beyond our expectations, but Tony made our experience that much more memorable! This is the place to come, even on a Monday! This is our company go to place every Beaumont trip. Thanks Tony and Floyds for creating a company trip staple!
We waited about 20 min to be seated, they were very busy. We want some people waiting hour for a seat. Karen was our waitress, she was great and the food fantastic. How do you recommend the alligator bites for appetizer? They are always perfect, and the gravy is amazing.
Eating here right now for lunch. This lightly grilled catfish meal with homemade sweet potato fries, tasty hush puppies and garlic french bread is spectacularly delicious!!! Nanci, waitress is most attentive and cordial too. I would highly recommend coming here for your Christmas parties, any other special occasions and/or lunch/dinner. We have actually been coming here for almost 20 years!!😋
It was a great Experience. Im glad we went. Our waiter was Anthony he was Amazing! The cheesecake is worth it! We tried frog legs. Blackened was better than fried. I didn't really care for the batter they use to fry things in. Like the frog legs and boudin balls. But the boudin was good. The jambalaya was great, no complaints. The etouffee was also good it comes with white rice. If I get a chance to go back I would order the alligator as an entree. The Alligator and cheesecake was my favorite. If you go ask for Anthony!
Yesterday we celebrated my friend’s Birthday here. She suggested to eat at Floyd’s . It is a Cajun restaurant. The food and the service is outstanding. We ate the blackened salmon with gnocchi and different kinds of oysters. The gnocchi is made here from scratch , the salmon was cooked to perfection and the size is very generous. Mr. Willie grilled our oysters and they were amazing. He also gave us a complementary taste of his fried rice.My mouth is watering up just thinking of it. It should be on the menu! They offer a variety of desserts, and they are available to view and choose from, presented on a dessert table. We ate at the bar, and the service by Ms. Vanessa was excellent. We were treated as family. The decor and lighting evokes a sense of warmth, authenticity, and the vibrant spirit of and the Louisiana. The lighting is warm and inviting. The food was delicious, the service was exceptional and the atmosphere was delightful. Thank you all for the wonderful experience! Definitely coming back!
This was my family and I's first time visiting. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, the service, and the food. I can't remember the guy's name that was our waiter, but he did an awesome job with delivering food and drinks and anything else we needed. I really enjoyed the Seafood Gumbo and the Seafood Courtbillion. I love seafood and gumbo so I had the best of both worlds lol. I highly recommend this place to eat at. We will definitely be back.
We had the Fisherman's Stew and the Scallop appetizer. They serve buttered bread as a table side. The fisherman's stew is a good light meal. Not heavy. Lots of different seafood flavors. For me, it could use a little more salt or seasoning. The scallop appetizer was my main meal and was really hearty and flavorful. The rice absolutely absorbed all the sauce. The mushrooms and creamy sauce were so yummy. Our waitress was super helpful with recommendations as it was our first time there on our way from Lake Charles to Austin. Will definitely stop by again.
What a wonderful place to enjoy some Cajun food! Let me start off saying this place is really busy and packed! The waiters and waitresses are always on a task and the girl we had was busy with a lot of customers, I gave this 4stars because we did have to wait for her for about 15mins and stayed over a 1hr, when we ask for to go trays we actually had to go get it ourselves. But this place has accessibility for handicapped wheel chair individuals with close up parking spaces.
Everything was good I had chicken and sausage gumbo, scallop Alfredo, onion rings and cheese cake for dessert. My buddy had flounder, dirty rice and sweet potato fries. The onion rings and gumbo where my favorite by far and no complaints about the flounder and their house ranch was delicious...
Was skeptical, but the seafood pasta was pretty good. Will try again. It's creamy but not thick, and I thought it had a really tasty, savory flavor. I had to add some of their cajun season shake that was on the table since it wasn't spicy enough. Fixed it right up. Btw, their table custom Cajun seasoning shake was spicy and not full of salt. I like that and dumped it heavily in the pasta dish. I got full on their delicious fresh garlic butter bread, so I took half of the seafood pasta dish home. Pretty dang good the next day with some extra pasta and parmesan cheese added.
Visited here asva tropical storm rolled through. I imagine the place has many more customers when the weather is better. The place has a great vibe and atmosphere to it. The food is good at reasonable prices. The crab bisque is excellent as well as the crawfish alfredeaux. The crawfish po'boy needed a little something extra in flavor but I'm not sure what. Still good just felt it was missing that extra something
We love Floyd's, and try to stop in on our trips back to Texas. Food is great, and the service is always spectacular! Just dont fill up on the complimentary garlic bread...its easy to do. Today we had the Salmon burger, and the Grilled Gulf Platter and Lalo was our server...all three were perfect! If you have the opportunity, don't let it pass by.
Ate lunch at Floyd’s and thought it was pretty good. I had the crab bisque which was delicious but be careful because there were still some small bits of crab shell in it. I tried the fried catfish and sweet potatoes fries. The fish was huge and the fries were also good. And for any sweet tea lovers, be sure to try theirs. I loved it.
Walking in reminds me of a really laid back lubys lol But the service is outstanding!!! The host was super sweet! Our server was very nice! This was our first time here. He explained every dish we asked about and gave us some recommendations as well! I’m sorry the appetizers were already dug into because they were delicious! We didn’t get a picture of the HUGE basket of garlic type bread. Just as a reference my hand is beside some of our meals. The baked potato alone was enough for a meal! Usually our appetizers take a good 15-30 minutes at most restaurants and meals a good 45 minutes. No ma’am, not here! As soon as our appetizers were eaten he brought out meals out! Furthermore, the house was PACKED! 2 giant parties and they still did an awesome job! The portions are literally biggest I’ve seen! The only reason it didn’t get 5 starts is the lack of salt on most of the meals. Besides that it was just awesome!
The Dirty Martini was so refreshing with the perfect mix! I followed it up with a dozen of raw oysters, which had a very fresh taste! The only downfall on the oysters was that most of them had a good bit of shell in it when you would bite into it. On the other hand, the Crab Bisque with rice was good as always!
We stopped at Floyd's on our way home. I had the steak, shrimp, and a loaded baked potato. The steak was tender and juicy. The shrimp were cooked well. My baked potato was a little under done. It had a lot of butter, a bit more than was necessary. My daughter had the bar trash grilled cheese and fries. She said it was very tasty. My husband had the catfish and onion rings. He said it was very good. We also tried the fried calamari and spinach and artichoke dip. The fried calamari was good. The spinach and artichoke dip had crab meat in it which gave it a very fishy taste, it was ok. Our waitress was very friendly and took good care of us. Overall, we enjoyed the food and service.
I opened the menu and was so excited to see Fried Green Tomatoes and corn. Oh, did we have a good time! I'm not a seafood eater but they tried Fried alligator, Calamari, Grab Stuff Shrimp, Crab, Shrimp and Fish. Back up, the warm butter bread they serve was simply delicious 😋. The server was very pleasant and knowledgeable. Thanks.
This was a last minute find, but a terrific one regardless. Everything that we ordered was really good. Portions were generous for the price and the service was great. They also substituted the crawfish out in a couple of dishes we ordered with no up charge. Will definitely go back if I am in the area again.
Floyd's is a treat my Husband enjoys getting when we are in Beaumont. I believe it is supposed to be a Cajun type restaurant. We both got the little Lafayette platter. We were disappointed to see that the jambalaya was not Cajun, it was Creole. Neither of us like Creole jambalaya, but I guess thats on us for assuming it wouldn't have tomatoes. The catfish was overly fishy and the shrimp were very small, they tried to butterfly them to make them look bigger, but they just ended up curled and kind of sad looking. The fried pickles were very good though, but I don't think it's enough of a redeeming factor to bring us back next time we are in Beaumont, especially for the price.
Great service, great environment, somewhat decent prices. But my food was cold when it come out, like cold. And instead of offering to remake the shrimps, the waiter just took my plate to the back and had them warm it up somehow, I felt my shrimp was tainted and contaminated and I didn't think you can reheat seafood like that it made my shrimp rubbery and overcooked, I couldn't eat it but I didn't want to complain again so I just didn't eat but still payed for it. BBQ crabs was meatless and a little burnt on the tops
I’m guessing my expectations were set a little too high for the food quality. I ordered the Bubs shrimp platter and a side of dirty rice. I was excited. However the shrimp were definitely overcooked and too hard and the dirty rice - well you can taste that the “gravy” they used came from a packet! Just nasty in my opinion. Of course I returned that! Overall the food was ok, edible but will most probably not return.
My wife ordered the stuffed redfish ($27) and she was disappointed in her choice for several reasons. The “crab stuffing” was cool to the touch and had a mediocre flavor. The redfish filet was good and cooked properly. Our waiter was attentive and gave us good service, however our table was near the rear of the restaurant next to the kitchen and there was a prevailing unpleasant sour odor. We decided to relocate ourselves until the odor was no longer noticeable. Our food was served in a timely manner and the orders were correct. I ordered stuffed grilled shrimp and they were tasty but not as good as previous orders of the same entree. The overall experience was a little disappointing because we were entertaining out of town guests and unfortunately our dining experience didn’t quite live up to our expectations. We intend to try Floyd’s again and give them another chance.
Was in the area for works. Floyd’s came up with some good reviews. I stopped in for lunch. It’s a good size place just off the highway. I was there when it just opened. I ordered the lunch catfish etouffee (crawfish). They serve some buttered bread before the meal comes out. Didn’t take long for entree to come out. It looked great. I came to find out looks can be deceiving. The fried catfish portion was pretty good. It was the crawfish etouffee that was just bad. I love crawfish etouffee and get it a lot when I eat out. It just had a very bland bad taste. I can’t really describe it. Seemed to be cooked ok but just didn’t taste good at all. I had to smother it with hot sauce and tarter to slug it down. Very disappointing. Good things where the service was good and it’s a neat place inside. It really filled up quickly so there must be some good items on the menu. I saw a lot of fried seafood come out. My dish however wasn’t good.
*** UPDATE! Packaging fees! No where did I see this posted, and I finally see it on my receipt after I tipped. To go is now a cost of doing business. I hope the $5.30 is worth losing business over. We ate in the restaurant and it was really good. Pleasantly surprised at how good everything was. The portions were large and priced really well. The next night we went back and got more food to go. The alligator was really good as well as the calamari. The crab was cooked really well and was delicious.
I had not visited this establishment in several years. I was interested in trying something new. We waited an hour for our food. I ordered blackened catfish with a side. The fish was extremely small. My family asked me if I had ordered a kids meal. (which i did not!) They raised prices and make the fish smaller! Beware! I was very disappointed in my meal. However, our server, Vanessa S, was excellent.
For this particular dish to be $30 plus dollars, the portions for takeout is mind blowing and ridiculous to me. This is all the rice and bisque I got for 30 dollars. the only thing with great portion is the SIDE DISH. which is meant to be a SIDE. it looks like its more of the entree than the actual entree. Very disappointing. Also very flavorless
The food was amazing nice portion size Went in around 1:50pm, instead of being offered the lunch special price of $16.00 for what I ordered I was charge the dinner price of $26.00, we also ordered bar drinks, we were charged full price for the drinks when they are on sale for HH that started at 2pm. When I asked if they would honor either I was denied either option. I wouldn’t have had a problem with the charges had it not been for a couple that came in at 2:30 and asked to order from the lunch menu and they were accommodated per their request for the price difference, more than 30 minutes after the lunch offer ended! We paid full price for everything without an option! If they are willing to accommodate for 1 you should do it for ALL! So I felt some type of discrimination when it came to being able to get access and accommodation to special deals. My suggestion is to do better by treating everyone the same when it comes to offering special pricing!
Only the price is bigger in TX. For what I paid I could have gotten 2 big a$$ burgers from Jack in the box. Portions are tiny but prices high. Went to another seafood place just to see what they charge and what I would get. Paid 10.23 here and at Sam's Southern Seafood Eatery I paid 5.39 for a small side of okra and hush puppies. I guess Tacos are the best TX can do. The black containers are from Floyd's.
I remember when Floyd’s (in Houston) used to be good It’s gone downhill in the past four years. In Beaumont, though, this doesn’t even taste like the same chain. I’m not sure what’s even happening to these recipes. Inedible. And, I told the waitress whenever she randomly popped up. My friend said his food was good. Manager and hostess very sweet.
Our waiter looked like he hasn't combed his hair in a month. Seated at a dirty table, the appetizers were good and then COLD FISH and a potato that looked like it had been beneath a heat lamp for an hour. $65 for two people and neither of us ate 1/3 of our food. $10 and my left nut says that the waiter was mad because he didn't get a20% tip for gracing us with his presence twice.
Food was edible but just ok. Shrimp on the little Lafayette platter were very small. Oysters on the Oysters Lafayette platter were extremely small, especially for the price. Jambalaya was bland lacking seasoning and salt. Bread they brought prior to the meal looked like old reheated breadsticks and lacked flavor. All of the workers we interacted with at this “Cajun seafood” restaurant were Hispanic. We couldn’t really enjoy the Cajun music that was playing because we were seated near the kitchen and the base thump from the Tejano music in the kitchen was loud. We will NOT be back. This is NOT the Floyd’s that I remember from the past. No wonder there was no wait on a Saturday night.

Floyds in Beaumont: A Cajun Mainstay with Standout Flavors
Down here in Beaumont, Floyds has been a local institution for almost twenty years, serving up Cajun flavors just off the highway. It’s a good-sized spot, and it fills up fast, proving its enduring appeal to those looking for a taste of Louisiana right here at home. When Floyds hits, it truly shines. Take, for instance, the lightly grilled catfish meal – it’s been called spectacularly delicious, arriving with homemade sweet potato fries, tasty hush puppies, and garlic French bread. That’s the...
Floyds: Beaumont's Cajun Gem with Service as Hot as the Gumbo
You know, there are places in Beaumont that just feel like home, and for anyone craving a true taste of Cajun country, Floyds is absolutely one of them. Nestled right here in town, it's become a go-to for so many, and for good reason. My first thought whenever someone brings up Floyds is always the service. It's just consistently phenomenal. I heard a story recently about someone doing a to-go order for their Shrimp and Seafood gumbo. They barely had time to get out of their car in the takeou
