All around favorite place in union. All the staff at JC’s are amazing!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
Staff is super friendly.
Awesome time every time I go
The food and service was amazing 🥰🥰🥰
Amazing place very nice staff
❤️❤️❤️
JC’s Tavern & Table got the entire city in a chokehold no cap. First off… shoutout the bartenders because they was absolutely LOCKED IN behind that bar. Ordered a Neal’s Sour and I genuinely saw the gates of flavor heaven open up. That drink was so bussin I had to pause mid-sip and reevaluate my entire beverage ranking system. Smooth, strong, fancy for no reason, and dangerously easy to drink. Whoever made it deserves employee of the century respectfully. Food? Straight gas. Drinks? Legendary. Vibes? Immaculate beyond comprehension. The whole place got that “lemme just stay for one more round” energy and suddenly it’s hours later. Everybody in there was having a blast, plates getting cleared instantly, drinks flying out the bar like they got a speed boost activated. And the bartenders stayed elite the whole time: quick, funny, cool as hell, and crafting Neal’s Sours like chemists in a flavor laboratory. JC’s ain’t just serving food and drinks, they serving memories fr. Whole experience was top tier. No crumbs detected anywhere.
This place is very homely, everyone here treats you like family, and the service is quick. Overall a nice place to go for a quick bite and a few drinks.
Staff are kind, courteous, and professional. Food is great and reasonable. Beer and booze selection are impressive.
In a town filled with familiar dining options, JC’s Tavern & Table is quietly carving out its own identity—one that blends the warmth of a neighborhood bar with a menu that goes well beyond expectations. Located on Morris Avenue, JC’s doesn’t try to dazzle with flash or trend-driven décor. Instead, it leans into something far more inviting: comfort. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels lived-in in the best way—welcoming, unpretentious, and designed for lingering. It’s the kind of place where conversations flow easily, whether you’re meeting friends for a casual night out or stopping in for a relaxed dinner. But what sets JC’s apart isn’t just the ambiance—it’s the food. Went there for St Patrick’s Day. Corned beef was wonderful. While many taverns stick to predictable bar fare, JC’s Tavern & Table takes a more thoughtful approach. The menu offers familiar favorites, but with elevated touches that show care in both preparation and presentation. One standout is the bison burger, a dish that can often fall short if not handled properly. Here, it arrives juicy, flavorful, and cooked with precision—proving that even a classic can feel special with luck! Rich without being overwhelming, it strikes a balance that keeps you reaching for just one more bite. Specials, when available, add another layer of interest, often featuring combinations that reflect a kitchen willing to step outside the standard tavern playbook. The bar program complements the menu well, offering a solid selection of drinks suited for the setting. While beer enthusiasts may hope for an expanded craft selection in the future, the current offerings are more than adequate for a casual evening out. What truly defines JC’s, however, is its sense of place. This is a restaurant that understands its role in the community. There’s a genuine neighborhood feel here—one that doesn’t need to be manufactured. Regulars mix easily with first-time visitors, and the service reflects that same approachable energy. It’s attentive without being intrusive, friendly without feeling forced. JC’s Tavern & Table may not position itself as a destination dining experience—and that’s precisely its strength. Instead, it succeeds by delivering consistency, quality, and comfort in a setting that feels authentic. In doing so, it fills a space that many restaurants aim for but don’t always achieve: being the place you think of when you simply want a good meal in a welcoming environment. In Union, that’s no small accomplishment. Loved the Irish soda bread, complimentary!
Service and food was excellent!!! Definitely will be back soon
The food was AMAZING! Appetizers and entrees were so delicious. Good portion size and great price for an enjoyable date night! Service was fast and staff was lovely. We will definitely be coming back... I'm already eye-balling a few entrees I want to try! Pic included of the kielbasa & sauerkraut entree-- it is 100% Polish girl approved 🤣❤️
This place is AWESOME! The food is UNBELIEVABLY GREAT and the bartender is AWESOME as well...It's karaoke night every night that she is there! I will DEFINITELY be back!
Had the Shepard's pie and it was delicious

Amazing experience at JC Tavern and Table! This place has held stories and memories for many years, and under the new ownership they’ve kept the true, welcoming feeling of Joe’s Place while elevating the entire experience. Now as JC Tavern and Table, you have the opportunity to enjoy a delicious menu that feels like dining in a luxury restaurant. From fresh salads and comforting soups to perfectly cooked ribeye, roasted chicken, and mussels, the kitchen truly has it all — and the bar is just as impressive. The service is excellent, making every visit feel special. Highly recommend stopping by and experiencing it for yourself!
Local bar atmosphere at it's best. It was my first time at JC's Tavern and I'll be going back. It has the Cheers atmosphere where everyone knows your name which is what I've been looking for close to home for 15 years. This area doesn't have this kind of a local bar. Local homey bars seems to be something from the past. From the apps to the entrees, the food was good. The staff was great. Super friendly. Bonus points for having red bull.
We were suspicious of 25 reviews and all 5 stars, and all fairly recent. However we were VERY pleasantly surprised. It is a fabulous local bar, with very good food. A step up from the chain restaurants . This location has been a local bar since it was a speak-easy during prohibition according to one of the locals eating there. More recently know as Joe's, we were told It was recently bought by the gentleman who has been the Chef there for 2 years. The menu was very interesting and full of great sounding options. We shared the Brie and. artichoke hot dip, served with toasted good size cubes of very good bread. A change from spinach and artichoke dip you see everywhere, and delicious! We also split as Bison Burger topped with pepper jack cheese, red onion, tomato and lettuce, and a chipotle aioli. Bison burgers can be very dry and ordinary since there is so little fat in the meat. These were perfectly prepared, at medium, juicy, but not so sloppy they dripped everywhere. The flavor was great! We also had sweet potato fries and a side salad that we split. A very well prepared, excellent meal. I wish they were located near me in Portland Maine. I'd be a regular. Our one complaint was there were no local beers on tap. We love to try local IPAs as we travel the country. We were told they are coming soon. We are not related to anyone who works there. Found them on Google maps while visiting family in Maplewood. They are worth a stop.
Came here on a Sunday evening to watch a Lions and Rams game. Super chill bar with great food and service. Had their hot garlic with white wine and pepper flake wings, would recommend that flavor. Definitely will be going back again.
JC’s Tavern and Table never disappoints! We have tried many of the dishes, including appetizers like dumplings, nachos, wings, and entrees like the vodka chicken parm (my personal fav!), lamb burger, caesar salad…they are always delicious and fresh with generous portions. The staff are friendly and consistently provide excellent service. We are looking forward to returning soon!
A place with dive bar prices has no business having a kitchen producing food like this. So good. It’s got the “our town” vibe of the old Joe’s but with a new shine. EDIT: the revamped dining room is open and it’s super nice, plenty of room, plenty of TVs. Check it out!
JC’s Tavern and Table is a gem - dive bar feel with elevated bar food and great portions. The food is out of this world - everything we’ve tried has been amazing. One of the best burgers I’ve had in the area. The bar has great local beers from the area.
First time visit and will definitely be back! Rack of lamb special was super flavorful and served piping hot! Served was very attentive and courteous.
JC’s is a great place to go. Good food, great people, and amazing memories. Carlos is amazing in the kitchen and Colleen has become family to us. We love it here so much!!
JC’s is wonderful all around. From the food to the bartenders, we always have a great time. Every Thursday we can’t wait for the new specials to be posted! We have never had a meal or a drink that wasn’t great! Highly recommend!
The food is phenomenal as is the service. The atmosphere is similar to Cheers. Great place to watch sports and enjoy good food in a friendly atmosphere. Give it a try!
This place is great. Definitely coming back, best dive bar you can go to!
