The Hummus & Pita Co. Bergenfield Reviews
Great build-your-own-meal system with options for pita, Laffa/Burrito or a Bowl. Several vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and lactofree options. Great price-value-ratio and nice staff
Delicious food and exceptional service! Very nice and accommodating to a member of our party with allergies and to our very picky daughter (who found plenty to eat once they helped guide her).
We’ve ordered take out from this restaurant a few times and each time is delicious. The ingredients are always fresh. The regular chicken is good. But we have a vegetarian in the house so I must also share that the vegetarian schwarma is also delicious, perfectly seasoned, and has a great texture. Highly recommend!
I've never eaten in person here but I've ordered numerous time on Uber eats. Amazing food I tell you ♥️♥️♥️ I'm waiting for my food right now and I had to come leave a review. Delicious even like coming from far the food is hot and fresh!!!
First time trying Hummus & Pitas, and we were pleasantly surprised! We weren’t quite sure how the ordering process worked, but the friendly staff patiently walked us through it. The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and a welcome change after indulging in heavier meals while traveling. If you’re looking for a healthy, satisfying option, I highly recommend giving this place a try!
Surprised this place doesn’t have higher rating. Really good vegan and vegetarian options and reasonably priced. Food is fresh and there is so much variety, I was pleasantly surprised.
The location at 215 E 86th St sets an example for what a neighborhood restaurant should be. The food is always fresh and excellent in quality and taste, the staff is friendly and attentive, diligent in maintaining a clean and pleasant establishment. During a recent event, that was in sort notice, we were in need of a large order. The staff was very accommodating and prepared the large order within the short timeframe. The food was delicious and enjoyed to the last bite by all in attendance. We have been customers since this location opened, and we are very satisfied with every meal. We highly recommend this location to those who wish to enjoy a healthy meal with good service, reasonable prices and served with a smile. Yum :)
Omg, I loved it. it is my second time here and definitely I would come back everytime I can. the food was so delicious.. I enjoyed every bite. I ordered a falafel pita and it was so yummy.. I am not too fan of falafel but this one it was so good, all ingredients were so fresh and the sauce I added it it was.. also, I tried the shawarma and it was delicious too. I tried with chimichurri sauce and it was so good.. definitely I recommend this place.. the staff so friendly.
Great place satisfy your pita cravings. Awesome staff are informative and describe the various dishes so well that you're left wanting to order EVERYTHING! The falafel are FRESH and amazing. Don't forget your options and the toppings although staff will happily guide through the many delicious choices.
OUTSTANDING! Everything from the food to the service was impeccable. Ordering online was such a breeze and food was ready in less than 5 minutes. My food was packaged very nicely with a lot of care. Portions are huge! Food is very fresh. You get so much more than what you pay for. I ordered the Shawarma bowl and it comes with a large pita bread (white or wheat), hummus (choose from many options - I chose roasted pepper hummus), sauce (I chose spicy Tahini), two fillings (I chose Mediterranean rice and Israeli Couscous - again, so many to choose from), and a bunch of free toppings (various types of vegetables). I absolutely love this place! I will be back soon!!!
Excellent place for middle eastern/Israeli food. We got a pita with falafel and we added any toppings we wanted, which I find to be perfect so I can add whatever I want every time. It was very delicious! I’m originally from Israel and they have it (almost) all, in comparison to other restaurants in the city that share a similar style. I only wish they had Sabich! For dessert, we took their (no processed sugar) banana shake with pistachios which was very tasty. The texture is on the thicker side, and maybe not everyone’s favorite, but it’s exactly how I like it! I’ll be back to get it for breakfast!
There is potential but not quite there yet. The taste and spices are there, but the food does not seem to be fresh enough. Maybe if they have half of the selection they could maintain the freshness of the food. Also, the Shawarma should be cut to order and not be pre-cut and sitting there - basic Shawarma etiquette. Staff is nice but couldn't remember the details of the over complicated menu and pricing. Keep it simple.
The staff was nice and accommodating. Everything is fine except the gyro itself. It's one of the worst I've ever tried. First of all it crumbled all over so after all we had to just eat it as a dish version. But not a big deal. The biggest draw is the meat, I don't even know if it's real meat. It was an extremely salty type of concoction looking like a soaked cardboard. I came there cos of the rating and was very disappointed. And it was overpriced for the quality (but makes sense since it's Upper East side).
Used to be very good with big portions but went downhill with food quality. Last time ordered lamb gyro platter, which was super salty. Sweet potato fries are good. Thought for the longest time it was Lebanese owned (called in at their midtown location for dietary info), but recently found out it is Greek-Israeli owned. Unsure if Kosher either. Take that as you will.
The falafel could benefit from being fresher and more flavorful, as it seemed to have been prepared earlier in the day. The toppings had potential but could use major improvement for a more balanced bite. Overall, this pita experience didn’t meet my expectations.
