Cream Berkeley Reviews
Tried and liked the NY cheesecake ice cream and red velvet cookie here.
Just incredible! Warm cookies and brownies served with cold ice cream, hard to beat. Why aren't these shops everywhere!
This was a cool little spot! I couldn't decide due to so many good options so I went with a hot fudge sundae. Got one scoop of banana nut and one scoop of chocolate chip cookie dough. Added an warmed up oatmeal cookie and topped with Oreo and m&ms. 😋 The ice cream was really good and the cookie was delicious. Will definitely be coming back!
Freshly made cookies that you get to place a well rounded scoop of ice cream between. Start with one of 12ish different types of cookies then add one scoop of 15 or so different flavors of ice cream. They have vegan and gluten free options of cookies and ice cream. Not in the mood for an ice cream sandwich? They also have the typical ice cream parlor selections or a hand make waffle cone ice cream taco.
Such a delicious first experience! Line out the door almost every night and now I know why. I got the salted caramel scoop on a peanut chocolate dipped cone. The chocolate dip is thick and made the cone a treat within itself! 😊 the cone by itself, however, was your basic cake cone. Tasted like the kind you buy from the store so don't expect nothing fancy from the cake cones. The ice cream, on the other hand, was smooth, creamy, and hand thick ribbons of salted caramel all throughout. It was so delicious ! Definitely regretted not getting that second scoop 😊
I got a Do'sant with Cup of Joe ice cream and chocolate sprinkles on top. It was like having a croissant, a donut and a cup of coffee with mocha crunch in every bite! It was a delight. You get variety and creativity to get solving your sweet spot. Recommended you come early... long lines at this location start at 8/9pm every weekend night
the whole calories thing on the menu kinda caught me off guard, especially considering this is an ice cream/desert shop lmao. anyways, the employee there was really friendly and helpful. i got the “cup of joe” flavor which i enjoyed, but the texture struck me as a bit stretchy? and the taste wasn’t that rich/it was a bit lacking. perhaps i should have ordered another flavor. but overall my experience here was good and i definitely wouldn’t mind coming back!
This ice cream was great and the cookies tasted fresh. It’s not overpriced, in fact, it’s very affordable for great quality ice cream which is appreciated. I got the blueberry cheesecake ice cream and white macadamia nut cookies. I was also able to sample before I decided. I definitely recommend!
The woman that was working there was really helpful and accommodating to someone that knew nothing. Highly recommend the salted caramel ice cream, and the sandwich version was absolutely delicious. I went with the mini version because I was too full from my burger earlier. Worth a visit!
Nice lady serving. Ice cream meh. Ben and Jerry's is better IMO. Didn't try the cookies because they didn't look all that good compared to cookies at other places
Cookies were nice - Gooey and appropriately sweet. The ice cream was also nice - good cookies and cream flavor but most impressed with the consistency when scooping and spreading even when very cold. Excellent for a cookie ice cream sandwich. The 3 stars come from a profane hand scribed note on the bottom of the lid. Stick with It’s-Its… Not only are they the original and “A San Francisco tradition” they are above all, a family friendly treat..
I used to go to the Cream in Palo Alto about 10 years ago. Was in the area and saw that they were in Berkeley now and was excited to try it again. I had remembered Cream being clean, bright, and fresh. Today it felt like the cookies were cheaply made with way too much sugar and not no richness in flavor and did not feel fresh at all. The store was a little grimy and didn’t feel very clean either. Reminded me of a subway inside the way you can see all the cookies that are just laying out getting stale :/ Great customer service though! Very friendly.
I was unfortunately not a fan of this at all. The ice cream pretty much tastes like supermarket ice cream that you could get for so much cheaper. It was weirdly sweet, kind of plastic-y but probably due to artificial flavoring. Granted, you're supposed to eat it with two warm cookies, whereas I just got a cup. Even then, however, the ice cream was already too sweet for me. Like how many different flavors they have though.
Two stars cus the ice cream is still good and I think they are specifically more of an ice cream shop. Minus 3 for the cookies though. I realistically go there for their cookies because let’s face it Fenton’s is the best ice cream in town... They changed the cookie recipe for butter sugar, snickerdoodle, choc chip, and macadamia and they are all transformed into the most regular cookies I’ve had the misfortune of wasting dessert on... used to be spectacular - soft, a little crisp where it hit the pan, fluffy even! Now? They look flat and taste like there is no love and no butter lol. I didn’t eat a sugar cookie for my physical healthy okay? I could go to Safeway for these cookies. Just flour and sugar.
The concept is great (who doesn't love an ice cream sandwich !?) but our visit left a lot to be desired. The service was poor and the workers seemed like they had better things to do than attend to us. The ice cream was good but not great and flavor options were limited. Lastly the cookies were a bit stale it seems so the sandwich crumbled a part after our first bite. Overall would not return.
Ok ice cream. Deceptive pricing. Purchased a sundae with a menu price of $8 posted. Was charged 12.50. Their buy on get one free deal on pints also comes with a $2 extra charge which is not on their displayed menu.
