KoStop Berkeley Reviews
This is a really good place to eat out for fast good food. The workers are very kind to us as well. Portions are good as well as I felt full after my meal. Emily, our server, was very good waiter and provided us with water immediately. Very polite, very yummy
I dined in and bought take out at KoStop a few times and I am impressed every time. I have had their 3 flavors chicken a few times to accommodate different wants in the family. Kids like the original and parents like the garlic and spicy flavors. Most recently we have tried their spicy chicken burger and the Philly cheese and they were both good. It's definitely worth trying. When we dined in, we also had beer to go with the spicy chicken which is a great combo.
Good experience overall. Christine recommended us the 3 flavors & it was great! We got to sample 3 different great flavors of chicken & the fries were crunchy and tasty as well- how fries should be!!
Amazing food, amazing service, and even better ambience. Definitely coming back.
Good food, portions are big but I’m not complaining!
Great customer service, servers were extremely friendly and helpful. There was an abundance of amazing food options and portion sizes, and all for a good prices. I 100% recommend whether for a snack or a group dinner!
Ko stop has become the ultimate comfort place in all capacities. From the delicious food to the wonderful atmosphere and amazing staff, Ko stop feels like a little home away from home for college students like me! If you ever have the craving for some delicious Korean fried chicken, or in need for a relaxing atmosphere look no further!
Quiet and cozy place in the middle of Berkeley. Food is ok. The location and the price make it a good option. The service is friendly and quick. The boneless wings were very very good!
I loved the service, and the vibes inside the place were nice!!
Exceptional food, service was quick, and the restaurant is nicely decorated.
Everything we ordered was super delicious. Great customer Service and energetic atmosphere!! I see why it is so popular!!🥰
The restaurant was extremely clean. The food came here fast. It was very efficient and the workers were very nice. The food options consisted of a wide variety of choices.
Good place for Korean fried chicken. I prefer the boneless, but bone-in is also good. A bit heavy vs other foods.
Danny’s customer service is unmatchable. Made us feel very welcome and comfortable Thank you Danny!
The fried chicken is AMAZING and the fries and tteokboki is so yummy. perfect date spot! my friend and i loved it! god bless ko stop ❤️❤️❤️
Absolutely incredible experience! The service was impeccable—our server was attentive, refilled our drinks promptly, and even explained how to properly enjoy each dish. The food was out of this world! The Korean fried chicken was crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor, while the bibimbap was a perfect blend of textures and seasonings. The ambiance was fantastic, with a stylish, modern design infused with traditional Korean touches. The lighting was soft and cozy, making it a great spot for a date night or a gathering with friends. This restaurant has set the bar high for Korean cuisine, and I will definitely be back!
Tasty food, great service, extended hours and nice atmosphere.
The fried chicken at this restaurant is absolutely delicious! It’s perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, and full of rich, flavorful seasoning. The quality and freshness are outstanding, and every bite is satisfying. Highly recommended for anyone who loves great fried chicken!
way above average food. good customer service
Awesome spot. Great food. Maybe my favorite Korean fried chicken in the area. Juicy, strong flavors, boneless, decent portion. Salad with yuzu dressing paired nicely. Always friendly service too. Music was a bit loud last time I went.
Great good, great service and a great place to just come and have some good Korean fried chicken. Can’t get better than this!
Was in the mood for fried chicken, did not disappoint! The Signature Three was the best deal for two to share. Friendly staff, good happy hour deals too!
First time trying Kostop with friends and the service by manager Danny was amazing! I loved the food and the welcoming atmosphere. The hot chilli garlic chicken is one of their best! 10/10 recommend.
Came for a good lunch and got the chicken rice bowl & got the sweet & spicy it was so yummy , the area was neat and clean. And the services is amazing ! Would recommend
Came by on a whim and was pleasantly surprised! We ordered their kimchi fried rice and their sweet and spicy chicken. The food in my opinion tasted great, the chicken was flavorful and the rice had an interesting meaty taste that went well with it. The food didn't take too long and it was piping hot! Our only complaint is that the chicken came with a tiny scoop of rice, and that the salad was a giant slice of tomato and raw brocoli lol. Otherwise, great spot! Still worth the money to me!
I really enjoyed the food—it was absolutely delicious. The service was excellent!

Nice service. Good food. Affordable price for college students. Cozy spot for hanging out with friends in lunch hours.
Really great chicken. I loved the sweet and spicy sauce. The rice bowl was very filling!
Owner/cook is very cute & friendly. We came in for a 9pm dinner and food came out in 5 minutes. I had the 12pcs chili soy garlic chicken wings with purple rice. There is boneless option and you can choose your side dish. To me, it needed more heat and just a suggestion, the owner should offer various heat levels. The wings were hot & crispy. I love korean cuisine & cook many dishes at home for the family so... i appreciate that he made the sauce for the chicken himself. Overall, I had a good experience and will be back. Oh, I'm a sucker for food served on metal/baking trays, nice touch & no plastic.
So good! With a ton of K-FC options in Berkeley this little spot is really holding their own. Marinade was on point, batter and fry was perfect. Serving was generous. Really solid.
We needed some late night eats after a concert and this caught our attention. The food was great. Portions were nice and to size from the picture. I was sad that the did not have anymore purple rice but that is to be expected late night. He was very respectful and ask for substitute, the Mac salad was great. I am sad that my husband could not try it (allergies). I did not know how the drink system works so when I ask for my melon drink (basically my dessert anyway) he was very apologetic even offering 2 for the inconvenience- which it was not. My order came with a soda- I don’t really drink that and was ecstatic to see metal reusable cups for water. Others who are on the fence- remember this is a small business, be realistic to human standards. Some comments are kinda picky. I was too hungry post concert to even consider pictures.
Very kind front of house staff! Very helpful with meal selection. Loved their chicken rice bowl with sweet and spicy sauce! The Nashville chicken is also delicious. Nice place for a quick bite to eat! Thank you
Chicken was phenomenal and juicy, the fries were piping hot, atmosphere was pleasant, and the worker (she has reddish hair + glasses) was really nice and super friendly! Will be returning :)
Ordered the Garlic chicken wings with fries! The food was amazing. Highly recommend trying this place out take it from an avid foodie! The area is so cute as well.
Fresh chicken, cooked hot and crispy, got the 3 taster combo and it was amazing. Sauces were yummy (soy garlic esp.)

We ordered a Kimchi Fried Rice with Fried Chicken and a Chicken Rice Bowl. The fried chicken was quite flavorful and I appreciated they used thigh meat apparently. The kimchi fried rice could have used a bit more kimchi. Though it took a long time for their orders to be ready the wait turned out to be worth it.
Charming little Korean food shop—slightly on the pricey side, but you can try on the first time!

I ordered the tteokbokki and was really disappointed. The portion was tiny for the price it felt more like a sample than a full order. On top of that, the rice cakes were dry and chewy instead of soft and saucy. The flavor was okay, but between the portion size and the texture, it just didn’t feel worth what I paid. I’ll have to come back and try the chicken instead, but I wouldn’t order the tteokbokki again. Updated review I wanted to update my previous review after coming back for another visit. I spoke with Danny and decided to try the carbonara tteokbokki, and it was genuinely lovely. The portion size was solid, the dish was saucy, and the rice cakes felt much more satisfying and complete this time around. I'll have to try the rose tteokbokki and see how that is. I also ordered the fried chicken plate with the sweet and spicy sauce. The chicken was crisp and crunchy, the portion was generous, and everything tasted well prepared and fresh. The only small note for me personally was that the portion of the rice seemed rather small and texture of the rice was not exactly my preference, but that is a minor compared to how well everything else was done. I am glad I gave this place another shot. This visit was a big improvement and much more in line with what I was hoping for.

Has a lot going for it, taste is pretty good. But absurdly expensive, paid $18.7 for the Chicken bowl. There were some metal flakes on the tomato (almost ate it before I saw some shine on the tomato!!)

Ordered food at 6:14 PM with DoorDash. Initial estimate is 6:43-6:58 PM. Driver gets there before 6:50 PM, waits about 40 minutes and then at 7:30 PM the restaurant cancels the order. I later reached the restaurant and they told me the order was cancelled because the driver was harassing them. Obviously unacceptable behavior from the driver; however, it really should not have taken so long to fulfill a takeout order after accepting it. I do not know how the estimate is calculated though - maybe that’s on DoorDash. Please review your staffing and process of fulfilling orders. We love your chicken though and don’t want this to happen again.

I ordered a small sized original fired chicken with a drink. I understand sometimes mistakes happen but my order took 31 minutes before it was served to me. It’s the longest I’ve ever waited for fried chicken, I usually wait around 20 minutes for a family 60pc and 3 sides at my local restaurant. The chicken was ok, the outside was crispy however the original without any sauce is bland. The wings were cooked through but some parts of the drum sticks I couldn’t finish because it was raw on the inside (transparent pink) and overall undercooked. There were also some burnt parts on the outside.
For your own financial and mental wellbeing, please do not order the kimchi fried rice from KO Stop. I've had kimchi fried rice from many places in my lifetime of 2 decades and this place has the honor of taking dead last. For $15 I received a wet lump of fried rice that would fit comfortably in the sad packs of pretzels you get flying Southwest. Decorating the top is another lump that I believe to be a sunny side up egg, without the sun. The yolk was nowhere to be found. In the corner snugly situated was this mysterious black lump. Was this a lump of coal Santa dropped off early to tell me I was a bad child this year? Upon closer inspection, this strange malignant looking mass was seaweed. Never in my life have I seen seaweed in such a grotesque state. Disappointment would be the non-expletive ridden description to my current mood after seeing this abomination. My day is ruined and I will be telling everyone I know to avoid this restaurant like seeing your boss at Costco. Thank you for your time and I hope my sacrifice is not futile.
Expensive. Portion size is despicable. Ordered the “chicken rice bowl” and bro gave me a hawk-tuah sized of rice, 1 piece of broccoli, 1/4 of a tomato, and 3 pieces of whatever this is 😭😭 The chicken tenders themselves were also mad MID to be honest. Not sure why they would call it “chicken rice bowl” 😂
