Momo House Berkeley Reviews
I study right across the street, so I’ve been eyeing this place and its momo for a while. Well… curiosity officially cured. The momo was a solid C—, like the grade you get when you show up to class but don’t really try. I ordered the mixed ones, steamed, and the dough was a bit chewy and torn. The portion was big, the filling was so mysterious I couldn’t even tell what I was chewing—could’ve been chicken, could’ve been my hopes and dreams. On the bright side, the service was terrific and the food came out steaming hot.
Ordered take out. Tried the steamed chicken momos, jhol chicken momos, and chicken thukpa soup — all of which were excellent. The momos were flavorful and juicy, though the dough was a bit on the thicker side. The jhol chicken momos, which were my favorite, had a nice tangy depth. The chicken thukpa was warm, hearty, and perfectly seasoned — the kind of comforting bowl you’d crave on a cool day. Overall, a delicious and satisfying experience that captures authentic Nepali flavors right in Berkeley.
I had the pleasure of dining at this amazing halal restaurant, and I can confidently say it exceeded all expectations. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was attentive without being overbearing. The food? Absolutely phenomenal. Every dish was bursting with flavor, clearly made with fresh ingredients and authentic spices. Whether you're into curry lamb , fried momo or vegetarian options, there’s something for everyone on the menu. You can really taste the care and tradition in every bite. I especially appreciated the clean, family friendly environment and the clear attention to maintaining halal standards. It’s not easy finding places that get both the taste and the ethics right but this one nails it. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a top-tier halal dining experience. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Great food selection and prompt service. Not much in terms of ambiance or seating.
I got the chicken dumplings, it comes with 10 dumplings that are a great serving for the price. It also has two sauces on the side, it was delicious. I also got the garlic naan bread. There’s a small seating area to eat your food. The chicken dumplings were so delicious, I would recommend them if you’re not sure what to get.
👉 Best Momos in Town! Authentic Nepali & Indian food 🇳🇵🇮🇳 ☕ And yes… Nepali Tea is the BEST!
I just want to say that I've always enjoyed this place every time I've been here! I go with one option - the paneer wrap with fries, and it's SO GOOD! I DON'T CARE IF IT GETS MESSY; I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!! People here are also very kind. I honestly can't recommend this place enough! Huge thanks to my friend Idan for showing me this place last spring!
Stopped in for a small meal. Food was excellent.
This place is totally awesome. The food is amazing and the service is spectacular.
What a wonderful place friendly working people I love this place Momos was so good juicy. Oh my God chutney was so good I can’t wait to have. Chow mein as well. Guys please try this place.
Good service, humble staff, excellent hospitality, and delicious food. Thank you so much.
Excellent jhol momos, the jhol is nice and orange and tangy just like I think it's supposed to be like 🥰. The momos are also great and well-shaped, and seem freshly steamed

Amazing food! Dumplings were great!

came here with my family while visiting uc berkeley! there is a huge variety of options to choose from! we got the samosa chilli, jhol chicken momos, and the chicken wings and they were all very delicious! it’s also very close to the UCB campus so i think it is a good option for students that need halal food :)
I love Momo house! I always get the “C” veggie momos and they are to die for! Such a good portion packed with amazing flavor! So so yummy and so close to campus 10/10 I can’t recommend enough. I bring all my friends here!
Authentic Nepalese Delight in Berkeley I recently visited Momo House in Berkeley and was blown away by the authentic Himalayan flavors! The tangy, slightly spicy 🌶️ orange broth ("jhol") was incredibly flavorful and comforting, especially on a chilly day . I also tried the veggie samosas and mango lassi, both of which were exceptional. The owners and staff are incredibly warm and welcoming, making the cozy, no-frills space feel like dining in a friend’s home in Nepal. Though seating is limited, the service is efficient, and takeout is a great option if you’re in a hurry .
Had a great time here! Food was delicious and came out of the kitchen quickly. Thank you!
Delicious Nepalese food. Tried the veg c momos, veg steamed and veg chowmein.

Momo was absolutely fire. Very nice people behind the counter and just across the street from the cal store. 10/10.

Momo tastes decent. Doesn't have the wow factor but good enough. They have the flimsiest disposable utensils so if you plan on eating there then bring your own.
This is a cozy little place just off of campus with limited seating. Two of shared one of their dinners and it was excellent, serving size could easily be split, food was cooked to order so it was piping hot, fresh ingredients. I recommend this nice place for a quick meal made to order.

Expected the famous momo to be more tasty instead I felt it’s more chewy with less of stuffing inside. The stuff tastes good but felt it’s not justified with the price where you basically eating steamed flour.

2 stars only because it was edible. Not very flavourful. Tasted like frozen dumplings with mozzarella melted on top in the microwave
