The food is great, no service to be had cause it was all tablet. But I love being in the food hall at the public market has nice vibes.

Good place to have some Korean style bowl :)

J

Great place! Delicious flavor cool people definitely recommend coming here.

M

Fast service. I ordered a braised pork bowl, a short rib bowl, and a beef koja. All tasted very delicious. I personally prefer getting a bowl than the koja “rice-sandwich”because it has more veggies on the side and more meat (maybe). My family was impressed and my mom has officially become a fan here. I will definitely come back in the future!

N
Neisa Marie

Delicious food. Plenty of room to sit. They even had vegetarian options and you can customize your order to be vegetarian. Great food. The fried tofu were a tad spicy but that's how I like it!

K
Kyle Robert Terry

I got the chicken KoJa and it's like a burger on a rice bun plus a side of their fries. It was so delicious. I'll definitely be going back to try some other things on their menu. Great price also!

I lucked up on this Gem a few years ago, when it was serving out the food truck. It's safe to say this is by far my favorite comfort meal. If you haven't done anything great in life, once you eat here you'll think you have lol. No seriously reasonable prices, amazing flavors, and a full tummy.

N
Nick Cole

Unique food, and pretty cheap to boot. Usually some seating at lunch, and they get the food to you quick with a buzzer thing. The bowls are really good if the sandwich isn't your thing, and the combo w/ fries is really spicy and reasonable.

E

MOTHER OF DELICIOUSNESS! You gotta try their fries combo cause it's out of this world. It's priced around $10 or less and I kid you not, you will love it! Parking is a bit of a poop since it's telegraph but depending on when you go during the week. However, don't let this stop you from trying out this place!

The Koja beef burger is amazing. It's not very big, but the rice bun and beef just go so well together. The burgers cost $7-8 depending on the meat you choose. It can get fairly crowded during busy times.

There are very few fusion fast food places that actually work. This place is one of them. Their KoJa (rice buns/bread) is great replacement for traditional sandwich breads. It was perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Both their Beef KoJa and Teriyaki Zen Koja were awesome. Their kamikaze fries were also good. I am glad they had a veg option for that. Overall, good food for the price.

Such good food! I got the chicken koja, kamikaze fries, and the signature musubi. They were all very flavorful and it was super easy to order and pick up. I’d definitely go again and try more of their menu.

Great value for the quantity and quality of the food! The Chicken Rice Bowl was simple and delicious. It was very quick to place and receive my order.

Great fusion place with unique dishes. The short rib Koja is also delicious

Food was amazing!!! Tried the Cal Fries for the first time, perfect blend of sweet/spicy with their sauce and the Japanese mayo had a nice coolness!!! Their short ribs as always has been such a delight! Great customer service!

Never skip an opportunity to get Kamikaze fries! They are an entire meal all on their own, but the rice buns are amazing too!10/10

Grabbed a quick lunch here and the koja was delicious - I got the galbi short rib one. The rice patties were crunchy on the outside and nice and chewy on the inside. A little more veg or pickle would have been nice as it was basically just galbi and rice. But overall really tasty rice burger

Instant hit for me. The fusion of meat & sauces were so tantalizing. I enjoyed every bite & the atmosphere was diverse as well as inviting. I'd recommend this place in a heartbeat. Use the good life app for coupons as well.

Fantastic as always. I've been to multiple Koja Kitchen locations, and have been enjoying it since they only had one single truck. It's always perfect every time, and this time was no different.

This place is definitely a must try. For those who love a good cuisine fusion.. this place will get your taste buds going. The food is flavorful and very tasty. Would certainly recommend it to anyone.

Definitely recommend here if you haven’t try these rice burger. They are more expensive than other fast food. But hey, it’s the only shop that sell this kind of fusion food, so comparing it with McDonald’s doesn’t make sense here.

This place is gem. The short Rib bowl is amazing. A piece of short rib with some rice and little bit of kimchi. That's how I eat it. All of their koja are really good.

Grabbed lunch, and got the BBQ chicken KoJa "sandwhich", rice patties actually worked very well! The chicken itself was so delicious!!! Price is a bit high for what it is, but Telegraph has more expensive, and this little Sando hit the spot! Not necessarily gonna be a regular, but will be back for sure!👍

A

Crazy good. This is the type of inventive fusion that doesn’t feel like a gimmick. The beef koja rice burger has an amazing texture and flavor, although the kamikaze fries & pork belly rice burger left a little to be desired for me.

W
Wesly Ortega

How do I say this... the place was really nice and the food was served quick, but it was too spicy in my opinion. I couldn't take more than 2 bites without having to drink something. It reached a point in which I couldn't really taste anything because of the spice, which is a shame since the food was pretty good. I guess it's just not for those who can't take spicy stuff. EDIT: so I decided to give it another try, but this time I asked for the spicy sauce to be put on the side. Now that I could actually taste the food, I can say that it is pretty good. Might not be the best thing I ever tasted and still don't think that the price is justified, but it's good enough that I'll try it again in the future.

The bowls are quite nice, although a little bit lacking of meat. I personally did not enjoy the rice bun sandwiches as much, although the garlic rice buns themselves were fantastic. The loaded fries are amazing.

Interesting place to come visit. Korean and Japanese inspired cuisine, delicious and packed with flavor. They offer foods like spam masubi, rice bowls tacos, etc. What I came for was their version of a hamburger. Packed with protein and condensed between two light fried garlic buns, a different type of carb and equally delicious. This restaurant sits in a very busy area, college town, so it can be hectic getting here, but there’s street parking and parking garages. The wait here wasn’t long at all, and the restaurant itself was clean and the staff helpful. If there are lines or if you would rather order from a screen, they offer that here as well. To go orders are offered here as well.

Close to Cal campus and really good food. I ordered the short rib bowl and the ribs were very tender and the sauce was good. I also ordered the loaded fries and they were tasty too. Would go again and try other things.

Quick service! Friendly staff! Great flavors! This was my first time here and I️ didn’t know what to expect. They have a bunch of awards on their door and so I️ knew we had to take a look. The menu looks delicious and the food did not disappoint. I️ ordered KoJa short rib and braised pork short rib with their signature fries. Everything packed a yummy punch of flavors. If you want to try Korean but don’t want to be taken back by the new flavors then come here! The only thing I️ would recommend is that you ask your fries to come out fresh. The toppings were hot but the fries underneath seemed a bit cold. Non the less this was a great lunch stop :)

One of the most convenient takeout locations in Berkeley. They serve some sort of Asian fusion. Service is fast and prices are reasonable. If you order online sometimes they will get your order wrong.

Was at their food truck at Sparks Social. Saying we loved their food is an understatement. Was beyond happy. Will absolutely go back next time in the Bay Area! Instagram @planefoodies

Up front the food was definitely pricy, but the portion was huge and I barely finished. My friend agreed, getting the poke bowl. Definitely a great place, and close to my residence hall. I'm coming back

I ordered a zen bowl which should have came with portobello mushrooms but instead I was given a plate of the worse tofu I've had and some white rice with some lettuce thrown on the side. By far my least favorite meal here but on a plus note the braised pork taco was decent but I probably won't be going back. 🤷‍♀️

J

The kamazaki fries are delicious but man those chicken tacos are a very poor excuse for a taco. And I’m so glad that the person I had lunch with actually ordered the fries because I ordered a taco one day, and the most disappointing part was the young lady who took my order. She was the rudest person I had encountered in SF. Thankfully I came back the next day and the service was awesome and so were those delicious fries!

Neat little Korean/Japanese fusion restaurant. Fries look better than they actually tastes. A little pricy but good quantity. I could see myself craving this from time to time.

The fries were good, but their “chicken sandwich burger” was bad. Tasted like old grease and the chicken was pink. Wouldn’t recommend, it was 0 stars for me. The fries were 5/5.

Have the owners ever tasted their own food? Some of the food items sounds amazing in theory but tastes disgusting in practice. Their coconut braised pork was an absolute abomination The flavors did not go together at all. The strawberry mango mint lemonade, was extremely sweet and had a medicinal aftertaste .

B

Very dissatisfied. We were there because it was listed as having gluten free items on the menu. My daughter has Celiac so we take this very seriously. It was not until after we had ordered and paid for lunch that the staff advised us that the items were actually not safe and recommend we eat elsewhere. I appreciate the staff's honesty, but find it frustrating that a restaurant would advertise itself as having gluten free options that are not actually gluten free.

J
Justin Cas

Staff couldn't be bothered to stop watching her Kpop to work. Food suffered some serious quality control. I should have realize this place was bad since it was so empty in there

Today I went to the Berkeley location and my mom found a chicken wing in the umami fries. I showed Alan Tsai and the cashier the fries both told me I put the chicken in the fries, and that they do not cook the chicken with the fries. Instead of fixing the problem Alan and cashier began to laugh in my face. I asked them if the mistake was funny and the cashier said she smiles at all customers, Alan continued to laugh. My mom asked for a refund, but Alan had to be convinced again that that was the right thing to do. I’ve led shifts in customer service and this was the wrong way to do it. We will not be returning.

Today 7/25/24 my family and I came in to eat. This was our first time, but we will never return. Your staff Alan Tsai needs customer service training. He and the other cook put wings in our umami fries and instead of apologizing and remaking the order Alan and your other staff decided to say we did it and laugh at us. They never apologized, or even offer to remake the food. Also, we placed our order before at least 5-6 people in line (who all order in-person). We received our food after all those people and when address Alan Tsai explained we order wings, mind you everyone order wings after us. It's an unfortunate situation because the food was good, but your staff had lost us as customers. We would have returned, but now we will be letting others know about the service we received so they will not be treated terribly.
