Jaffa Coffee Roasters Berkeley Reviews
Exceptional seasonal drinks. Some of the signature drinks can lean a bit sweet for my taste, so I usually ask for light sweet and that works perfectly. The baristas clearly know their coffee and are very knowledgeable. You can tell they are well trained and passionate about what they do. Jaffa Coffee Roasters roasts their own beans and it really shows in the flavor. The coffee has unique notes that are hard to find anywhere else. The mural inside is beautiful and the overall atmosphere has great energy. Everyone is kind, welcoming, and makes the experience even better. Seating is a bit tight but they make great use of the space they have.
Owners super nice, friendly. The coffee presentation is top notch. We got the banana coffee(?) I forgot the name and an orange latte. Super good. Delicious and sweet. The place is so cute as well. Good for study or js stay to chill
Jaffe Coffee Roasters is a cutesy cafe on University Ave, a bit of a ways from campus, but so SO worth it!! The interior was so vibey, the drinks were all very cute with excellent presentation, and the staff apparently really knows what’s up with coffee considering the incredibly detailed rants I overheard about beans that I legit could not tell you anything about. They even gave me a spoon to scoop up the whipped cream at the end HAHA. off their menu, I had the Strawberry Sage Creek, and this was so sweet and comfy and honestly great for someone who isn’t a huge coffee person. I will absolutely be back just to try their pastries bc i’m hearing some good things
After several visits I can confidently say this is one of the best cafés is Berkeley. The quality of their coffee is simply amazing, and something that makes them truly special is their consistency and commitment to always serve carefully crafted coffee drinks. Amazing.
Jaffa Coffee Roaster in Berkeley is a great spot! The interior is beautifully designed to create a calming atmosphere. Their drinks are delicious and reasonably priced. The staff are very nice and patient, making every visit a pleasure. Highly recommend for coffee lovers!
One of the best coffees I’ve ever had. We got the banana coffee and pomegranate mocha. You can tell everything is fresh, and intentionally paired. To top it off the service was amazing and place was aesthetically pleasing!
Amazing, unique "cocktail" lattes in so many flavors. Strawberry sage, orange, blueberry, cardamom rose, and more. Plus they have pastries from Midwife and Baker, which is one of my favorites. Seems to be a popular spot for people to bring laptops and work so it can be difficult to find an available table but I've never had to wait long and there's always been space at the community table.
I was so impressed with everything here. The drinks were not only innovative but executed well, the atmosphere is top tier, bathroom was nicer than some 5 star hotels. To top it off the service was exceptional and their dedication of so much of the space to Palestine was both heartwarming and created an extra feeling of safety to the overall atmosphere.
Great people, passionate ownership that knows their stuff! Prices are higher than much of the area but quality is pretty up there. Seating was mostly full so people are definitely happy with the place! Keep up the great work.
The banana latte was super yummy! The banana essence was light, not overpowering at all. I went towards the end of the day, so no pastries (I brought my own) but good coffee
Very pleased with both the coffee and pastries here. Staff was extremely kind and the espresso served its main purpose and that’s to caffeinate, which I certainly felt with these beans. Interior of this place also blew me away and it’s an amazing representation of Palestinian culture
I ordered a mocha, it has a unique chocolatey unique taste. I went there twice and the quality is consistent. Service was great, loved the vibe there and plenty of outlets to work there on laptop, it gets crowded sometimes.
Great coffee and lovely space to meet a friend for a chat or to study. Friendly staff. Can be quite busy; it’s a bit frustrating when one person working takes up tables with space for multiple people. Got the Jaffa latte - coffee was excellent and loved the orange flavor.
We were in Berkerly for 5 days and we had our morning coffee there each morning! Met one of the owners, such a nice person, the staff were smiling and welcoming ( even with a big line behind us and obviously busy). The only downfall is going back east and my morning cappuccinos will be subpar compared to Jaffa’s. Love the family pictures of the owners parents and their story it tells.
Love love the banana mocktail. Very subtle taste, creamy and rich. Staff is friendly, the cafe is clean
Had a lovely experience at Jaffa Coffee Roasters! I got the seasonal matcha with blackberry-sumac syrup & coconut whipped cream, and it was absolutely delicious. It was more than I usually pay for matcha, but totally worth it. My partner got the orange latte and really enjoyed it. The staff was very welcoming & the atmosphere of the café is really nice, with high ceilings and a gorgeous mural. Will be returning!
This café in Berkeley truly impressed me! They serve the best quality coffee, and the matcha is incredibly smooth and well-balanced. The pastries are a highlight crispy and absolutely delicious 🤤 which isn’t something you find everywhere. The baristas were polite and friendly. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. Highly recommend this place for everyone 😍 Today I tried the signature cold drinks at Jaffa, and they were absolutely incredible. The cold drinks are just as flavorful as the hot ones. Hands down, the best spot in the Bay Area.

Excellent coffee with a beautiful atmosphere. The décor is stylish and welcoming, and the people were incredibly kind. The barista took the time to explain all of the drinks to us, which made the experience feel personal and thoughtful. Highly recommend this spot if you love great coffee and warm hospitality!
palestinian cafe right by my hotel! really beautiful interior, kind service, and the bananas in jericho latte was probably one of the best lattes i've ever had in my life soooooo only complaint is i wish it came in a bigger cup
Love love the banana mocktail. Very subtle taste, creamy and rich. Staff is friendly, the cafe is clean
Their rose latte with a hint of hail was divine, yummy coffee, good vibes, excellent customer service, and the place itself is elegantly designed. Can’t recommend enough.
Came by yesterday for our Sunday Morning coffee. We were stunned by how bright and open the space is! When you enter, there are tables and board games to the left and a retail shelf to the right. When you get to the counter, take a moment to admire the beautiful Jaffa orange mural on the wall by the baristas/register. Beautifully done & really sets a good tone for your experience. Jaffa Coffee Roasters offers their standard cafe menu, seasonal tea/mocktails, signature mocktails, refreshers, and seasonal hojicha. They also have a selection of baked goods and some handmade bonbons. Since it was our first visit (and definitely not our last) we decided to try their seasonal mocktails— Just in Thyme ($8) & Gen Z Beel ($8). We got oat milk in each of them instead of the standard which added $1 extra to each and there is a $0.25 Berkeley Cup Charge. We also ordered a Jaffa Orange BonBon ($5.50) and a small Jaffa Cake ($5). Our order totaled at $29. While we waited for our order, we entertained ourselves with some of their coffee infographics by the creamer and to go lids. The bathroom was also well maintained and was decorated to the general theme which was super cute! We also snacked on the Jaffa Orange Bon Bon and Jaffa Cake. I found the Bon Bon to be a tad bit too gritty for my preference but the flavor was great. A subtle orange flavor with a nice rich chocolate. The Jaffa Cake was unique- a spongey cake topped with chocolate. It went great with the coffee because it wasn’t too sweet. The drinks were so fun & had a beautiful presentation. Each drink definitely takes some time to prepare so having the pastries to snack on while we waited was ideal. The Gen Z Beel was essentially a spiced coffee. It was perfectly bitter and the coffee flavor shined through. The Just in Thyme was my favorite. I am definitely biased because I prefer a fruit infused coffee. I could honestly even enjoy this drink without milk since there’s already whipped cream on top. I especially enjoyed the dehydrated pear garnish. The owner was our cashier, I forgot to ask for his name but he was happy to answer all of our questions and even went through the entire menu with us since it was our first visit. The baristas looked super busy but still made time to briefly chat with us when we were grabbing our drinks from the pickup area. They also made sure that we were aware of where to get lids for our to go cups.

great drink menu, palestinian-owned cafe! their concoctions are really creative, only unfortunate thing was i found the flavour quite weak. the honey lavender latte i tried was amazing, again the syrup in the actual coffee was on the fainter side but i didnt mind because i dont like my drinks too sweet. the iced rose latte however had zero flavour in the coffee and i couldn’t really taste anything. the almond croissant i had on my first visit was also stale, which was a shame. but i still would go back.

The drinks are good and creative however the service sucks. I don’t want to call anyone out so I will say “they”but it is as if they don’t want to do work and they have no awareness. It is 1 or 2 people and everyone else is very nice but certain people make a impression. I initially went there and got a quick coffee to go, but after this second experience I will do anything to avoid going. If you don’t want to work, just don’t work buddy.
