A hidden gem just outside of the UC Berkeley campus! Fresh and delicious poke bowls. Order by filling out an order sheet and hand it to an employee. There are tons of options to choose from to create a unique bowl. Bowls are around ~$15 but you are certainly paying for the freshness and quality of the food!

Love stopping here for a quick bite of poke. Fresh food and yummy sauces. Lots of choice when making your own bowl. Typically friendly and quick staff. Always looks clean and tidy. Definitely recommend for a quick poke bowl.

Absolutely love this place! Like a 2 min walk from UCB campus, which makes it a super convenient quick meal between classes. You can also order via the Snackpass app and have it ready for pickup when you get there. Kind of tucked away in the alleyway shops so it doesn’t seem to get as busy as other Poke places on Telegraph. Food portions are really good, and super filling for the price! Amazing price, amazing quality, and the workers are always really nice and considerate. Favorite Poke place I’ve found in the area so far. A+++ I will recommend this place to all my friends!

I really like how you can pick your own things to go in the bowl but they often don't have enough sauce and it is never as good as some of the other poke places

Good food, reasonable price for the fresh fish. Lines are slow though and many of the sauces contain mayonnaise.

Good place to go for quick and good poke. It is a little more expensive than a typical dinner but it tastes really good, especially because you can customize your own order. Inside is always kept nice and clean.

Decent poke bar tucked right near Berkeley’s center of campus! It’s slightly hidden in a hallway, but is a small little place. Good: The ordering process is very streamlined! You use a paper form and mark off what you want. It’s great that you can get unlimited options for some things. I found the portion sizes here great. I liked the salmon and the spicy tuna poke the most, and appreciated the dry onions on top. Bad: The sauce is somewhat unevenly distributed, I couldn’t find the sauce on some sides and too much on others. Overall enjoyed my experience!

I stopped by Poke Bar near the Berkeley campus for lunch and had an awesome experience! I used the Paper Form to order and build my own bowl, which was super easy and fun to customize. The tuna was incredibly fresh, like it was just caught that morning, and the portion sizes were generous—definitely worth the price. The staff were friendly, the place was clean, and the vibe was perfect for a quick, healthy meal between classes. Highly recommend!

Nice little poke place in Berkeley. The owner is always really friendly and welcoming. The fish quality is decent and the portion sizes are large. The fact that you can customize your order makes this poke shop open to all palettes. The wait times during peak hours can get long, however, up to 30 min

We ordered two small poke bowls. They were decent but pretty expensive ($18+) for a small bowl. At least it seemed pretty healthy.

I've enjoyed getting lunch here once a week for a few years. I was disappointed to see the arrival of touchscreen ordering recently, and even more disappointed to see it go to touchscreen only in tandem with higher prices today. The first time, I saw a customer spend several minutes making their order, nearly the entire time it took me to fill out a paper form and have my bowl prepared; a large line formed behind them. The second time, there was no paper option; the customer behind me gave up in frustration after a little while at the screen and left, and the staff could not even be bothered to call my name when my order was ready, resulting in yet another place with absolutely zero human interaction involved in the experience. This does not make me want to frequent any place. Please bring back the paper forms and consider lowering your prices; $20+ for a medium bowl is ridiculous.

I'm not a broke college student but when I go to Durant St. I automatically switch on my broke-college-student-thinking cap and look for the next best-affordable-cheap meal. Since poke bowls are on the rise in food fads a few have popped up after sushrittos done their number. Poke Bar is one of a few poke bowl places that set up shop near the Berkeley campus and I was excited how they would do compared to other poke bowl places nearby. It's like other poke bowl places where you stand in line and fill-out your choice or you can tell them yourself once you're up at the counter. There are three different sizes: small, medium and large. I chose large for my appetite and my motto when trying a place "Go big, or go home". My friend also went with me and she bought a medium. Well as I was going through all of this I watched as my poke bowl creator delicately assembly my bowl. The protein portion part was one I looked closely and with that they did a great job not skimping on the rice to protein ration. It was at the end where my excitement for this place plateaued and quickly descended. The girl was light on the sauce, which I didn't mind and when it came to the crunchy toppings she pointed it out we can put it on ourselves. . . which was by the cash register. The toppings by the cash register is almost equivalent like the cashier giving you cash and you putting it in your wallet. There is a small anxiety where you have to hustle for the next person to be served. Oh! Then when I asked for more of the spicy mayo sauce, the girl gave me a small squirt. GDHTHJRHTJGHJTR!!! Thought that was frustrating and then I looked at what my $14 bought. . . . it was a large bowl with what looked like the same amount as a medium size bowl. It wasn't filled to the top. . . .T___T I could have saved myself a few bucks to get the same amount as a medium bowl. My friend had a different person and she assembled my friend's bowl like she was a college student, some extra loving. I was not given the same amount of love. The bowl didn't even taste special, nothing really stood out in flavor or texture. This place is found convinently with other eateries around so you do have other options. If you're craving poke bowls I would venture to downtown or even off of Telegraph but this place amongst others isn't for a college-student-friendly budget. . . . unless you get the small. Still, I wouldn't come back here, you can get a lot further with your buck somewhere else. Happy eating!! ^___^

I went here twice this month and their poke is just not that good :( I really wanted to like this place, but it’s more expensive than other nearby poke spots and it doesn’t taste as good. Their food just doesn’t taste fresh, it tastes kind of bland compared to other places. Store is pretty clean and nice inside though.

NOT allergen safe. Beware that if you have an issue with a delivery order, it’s impossible to get in touch with them for help. I specifically asked for no mayo, stating clearly that I have severe allergies to Eggs, Dairy, & Nuts. I did not order anything in my poke bowl that would, to my knowledge, contain mayonnaise. Yet 1/3 of my rice was soaked in some sort of mayonnaise sauce, and I ate a couple bites of it before realizing! Now, I’m having an allergic reaction to my food, and Poke Bar’s phone number is out of service so I can’t get help! I called a different location in my area, number disconnected. Finally a location in my state picked up and tried to help. Issue not resolved.

Poke is so great and simple, all you have to do have good ingredients in good ratio. That's why I'm so shocked that my bowl could have been prepared so poorly. I got a medium bowl in which there was very little tofu and sauce, there were hard cilantro stems, and the white rice I got was riddled with brown hulls. Maybe they were just trying to help me get my fiber for the day? Poke around somewhere else.

Such a scam. The small was 16 dollars, rude customer service, and basically paying for a bowl of rice. Also bro just stuck a gloved hand in to mix my fish like I don’t trust that.

The fish was old, bitter and hard to chew. They had no lemons available! I like them with my fish! The greens were gross too. Been to many other Poke Bowl restaurants and this is the only one I’ve encountered a problem. Don’t apologize just fix it!

D
David Corwin

The poke is decent, but they have terrible food separation practices. When someone else changed their mind about white rice, they put that person's white rice into my container, even though that rice already had seaweed seasoning and crab on it! Then, when I told them I didn't want those things, they threw the rice back into the rice pot! This is really unprofessional, and especially bad for people who have other food allergies or dietary restrictions. It's also not sanitary to throw some rice with fish on it back into the rice cooker.

Y
Y W

didn't fill up my medium bowl :( and was really pricey for how little they gave.......was expecting a lot better given what i heard from friends but the servers were super stingy and made me feel ripped off for a medium that wasn't even a medium.

Fish doesn't seem frsh, rice is mushy and clumpy, imitation crab is just that, with no mayo, and the soy sauce on the side is...the dark one meant for chinese cooking ☹️
